Busy and messy. We were stuck in the area for several hours while we waited for our car to be repaired. So time-killing was left to a meal somewhere and some browsing and window shopping at whatever stores were within walking distance. Cue the Target zone. As the saying goes, you don't go in to Target for what you need, you go to Target and Target tells you what you need. Because we didn't actually need anything, but definitely left with some things. The stores was more than a bit of a mess. A bit of a shambles, really. It was a busy day, and lines were very long. But the merchandise and the aisles seemed more than a little askew and ramshackle. Maybe they were in a transition weekend between back to school and holiday seasonal stuff. But it all just felt messy and out of place. We obviously still found things we were interested in, but probably more out of time and boredom rather than the usual siren song of Shopping At Target. It seemed overall that they needed more employees on the floor or at the registers. But still...a Target is a Target and it fulfilled a need for us. read more

This Target is poorly managed especially in the self check out lanes. Check out lane monitor/cashier doesn't pay attention to anything and helped another self check out person bag their items while entitled old couple cuts the lines ahead of waiting customers. Do your job and monitor this lane not bag customer items. You're not a bagger, you're there to keep the lane moving. This cashier needs to be stocking shelves instead. This is my regular Target that is closest to my house. I come here most frequently for clothes for myself and my fiancé, household items, and health and beauty. We also recently completed our wedding registry at this location. This store is always very busy! The staff at this location have always been friendly and helpful. For the most part the clothing section of the store stays pretty organized, but sometimes it can get a bit messy when it is particularly busy. I am thrilled that their fitting rooms are open again. All in all there is nothing out of the ordinary about this Target compared to other locations, but it's a good store. read more

Last week noted 2 guys folding and stacking beach towels on the bare floor. When I said something to another associate in passing she looked down the aisle and said oh that stuff happens all the time. SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!! She just laughed and moved on. The Newport Target received some lovely upgrades after the renovation. The beauty section looks like from an elegant department store, love it. They also have many spacious fitting rooms in the clothing section. Target staff have been working graciously throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. I ordered some things online and they came super fast. I also used the pick up in store option, the curbside area was marked with signs allowing for physical distancing and the staff wore masks and gloves. I felt safe. I like this Target a lot. This is a nice big Target with aisles that are plenty wide. The shelves were pretty well stocked in all the departments we visited. There was one section of clearance clothing that was trashed- clothes all thrown together, falling off the racks, etc. The women's restroom also needed a good cleaning- trash on the floors, dirty surfaces. I blacked out and $75 was gone. What happened?! I came in with A LIST, a list that should have only set me back $25. Damn you Target, you win again. This is a standard target in that you'll always spend a minimum of $50 more than you intended to. The store has always generally been clean and staff friendly and helpful. There's also plenty of parking as well. I do think that the location sometimes is a bit hit-or-miss in terms of necessary staffing. The lines can get a bit long, but thankfully the self-checkout lane goes pretty quickly. The waits at the service counter can get a little long too and depending on the person in front of you can take a bit. The selection at this target tends to be really good. I also like that on the Target website it will tell you what aisle the item you're looking at is in- SUPER helpful! read more

As expected, it's a great place for high-quality grocery. Target is relatively higher priced compared to Kroger when it comes to groceries. So, we prefer Target for non-grocery items like kitchen utensils, appliances etc since it has been a great experience. The store is well organized and the Target app is very helpful in locating when you are looking for specific items. Besides the grocery items, they have good quality clothing options and kitchen utensils/appliances section which we definitely check before purchasing anything, even if it is not from Target. Besides shopping, they have Starbucks, Pizza Hut Express and a CVS pharmacy inside the store itself which is great to relax and enjoy. The staff is good and friendly. No unpleasant experiences there. Overall, a great place to definitely check out. P.S. These folks were open till late (11 PM) on Christmas eve, which was great, unlike Kroger and Walmart that closes at 6 PM. It's hard for employees but it was a blessing for careless folks like us who go out to hunt for finished grocery items at the 11th hour. read more

I'm no Target aficionado, as I've only been to two others before this one - one on Long Island growing up, and the one in Florence, KY. Compared to these other two, however, the Target in Newport is fantastic! It's new, so I expected it to be clean, bright, and well-organized, so in that sense it lived up to expectations. The layout is nearly identical to the one in Florence, but just a bit larger (I think) and with a much better organized grocery section (not that it's where anyone should do their regular grocery shopping). Overall, it is a great spot to shop for everything and anything - it's a mega-mart! Next time I need bedding or camping gear or cheap furniture, I'll probably head to this Target. read more

Spent almost an hour on picking up an order I placed online. The store didn't have the item ready, i asked if an employee could just go get the item and Process it and they act like they couldn't do that. I ended up paying for the item in store (after being charged online) just to walk outside and see that the order did process. I was informed it was cancelled when I left the first time, came back in to hear an employee say that he didn't cancel it. Instead of refunding me in the store the incompetent employee Mary H. proceeded to cancel it online. I waited for an email that it was cancelled and never received one. I then had to call customer service to have the online order cancelled. In total I spent over an hour and a half on ONE prepaid item, in the middle of this covid-19 epidemic. I like this Target. Super convenient and close to home and I almost always find what I need. The isles are wide and easy to navigate, the signs and sections are easy to find. Along with the standard health and beauty, clothing and accessories, they have a decent selection of groceries. I like the home goods and decor I find here. Depending on what day of the week it is, determines how organized or messy the shelves are. And the overall cleanliness of the store. I kept trying to shop early on weekdays hoping that the store would be more organized but it seems like it is simply never "zoned" or "recovered" or whichever retail term you'd like to use to describe putting things where they belong. I called to ask when the nursing bra section typically gets organized because it's been unshoppable for the past 3 months and the manager kept repeating that it's "zoned every night," before hanging up on me. I checked again today. It's still absurdly ransacked. Nursing bras. Not a high traffic area. My baby registry is also with target and many items were incorrect on my registry because they were stocked in the wrong places. It would not take much more than a bit of a cultural shift among the staff to make things a little nicer. It just seems that there is a great amount of apathy among the management and associates at this location. read more

Target. My 'shopping home,' oh heavenly store. Wait, you're so evil. I hate how new you smell - and all the colors of red that lure you into buying more -- MORE! Alas, as the newness subsides, I realize - it's just another Target. The shoe selection is a step up from the Oakley store (it's sad I know this), and the layout is much more friendly to find things. I also feel like I'm not stepping on someone else to look at something else. I'm sure that will change in a few months when Fall hits, and Christmas craziness starts. My significant other knows me too well, and any time we walk in there - there have been a list to follow. And if any time, I was looking at anything else off that list - my arm was pulled to move on. So I didn't really get a chance to check out the new produce section - but it looked a bit overwhelming anyway. It has a decent selection of items at a decent price. The best thing about this Target is location, location, location. It is by far the closest store of it's kind to my house. I walked into the new Target with high expectations. I walked out with three new shirts that fit like a glove and I adore. Target, you know me so well. I hate that I love Target. They've made some donations to organizations that I wouldn't align myself with. However, they've opened up this location just minutes from my apartment in OtR and they loaded it with attractive and reasonably priced clothing and housewares. I can't resist. There is a fresh food section and as previously mentioned, it's not all that big. In fact, it's weird to load my shopping basket with knitted tops and bananas all at once. But I'm willing to try it. Considering that the Kroger next door has a tough time keeping basics in stock like... I don't know, milk, or garlic, maybe I will pick up my food staples at Target too. I'm happy that those of us living downtown or close to downtown now have easy access to another big-box megastore selling home goods at a price I can afford. Pros: STARBUCKS!, groceries, clean, and in general just a large selection of everything you may need (and probably a lot of things you don't need, either - haha!). This is also in a fabulous location, and I keep cursing the shopping center gods for not having this here when I was in high school! Cons: Sales here goes FAST so get in there on the first day or you risk them being out of your items, they could use an extra checkout line being open most times I've been here, and remember that oh-so-convenient location I mentioned above? This is NOT the 1st time, but 4 or 5th time in last few months that I have gone into this Target and either the electric scooters are dead or they die in the middle of the store somewhere, When I speak to the manager they always have an excuse, I have been there early morning or mid afternoon and have trouble. Today the manager said "they do not hold a charge" well then it is time to have them replaced. This Saturday morning I was driving my dad around for some errands. He needed a half gallon of one percent milk and some house slippers. Upon entering l asked at the customer service counter to confirm where the slippers should be so my dad wouldn't have to walk more than necessary. Back in the men's section we saw shoes on the back wall but no slippers. I asked a nearby floor manager who directed us to a floor display with a shelf of what remained of the slippers sold at Christmas time. I will look this item up online and check other stores as there were only a few larger size pairs left. This was disappointing. So we walked to the groceries & the dairy coolers. They were low on half gallons of milk with no one percent. They did have the Good Karma brand which is nut free. My dad can't consume food made with nuts. He had been wanting to try a non-dairy brand and it was on sale for $2.39. On the way to the checkout lanes he picked up a new flavor of Oreo's. The line moved fast & we were soon out the door. It's Target, so there's not much to report other than typical, large selection of clothes, household items, electronics, toys, and even grocery items. Prices are average and they do have a price match policy if you find a better deal online or in print. The workers vary in friendliness and helpfulness. I have never had any trouble returning an item so that's good. This store can be very crowded on the weekend so try to shop early or late in the day. The Starbucks is a nice java jolt if you need it. The food selection is nothing to brag about but if you are starving, there are some hot food items available (pizza, nachos, etc). read more

Oh boy, oh boy- a shiny new Target! I have been waiting for this Target to open because it's a closer location for me since I live just outside of downtown. I think most people know what to expect when going to a Target, so my review will focus on differences between this store and Ridge road (the next closest Target to downtown) 1. Location: it's at least 5+ minutes closer to downtown and next to the big, new Kroger. 2. Amenities: it has a Starbucks. It's a very American thing to walk through a mega-store with a cup of Starbucks but i can embrace that. 3. It has more food. On that note, however, I will say i was disappointed by the produce selection. The billboard made it look like it would have lots of fresh produce but I really only saw one, medium-sized stand of fruits and veggies. With that selection of fresh food, it can still onlbe used for convenience shopping for me because I buy mostly fresh food. Howwever, they did have plenty of aisles worth of packaged food. 4. It's new. I'm not gonna lie, I like new things. Other than that, I think its pretty similar and has a similar selection of products, nothing drastically more or less. I am not much of a price checker but I did think the yogurt I bought was s few cents more expensive that st the Kroger next door. I will definitely be making it my new Target, primarily because of the location. read more

Ok...so it's "round 2" and Target Customer service is NOT winning. I went again on my lunch hour to see if they had their ducks in a row. PRO: the gift registry kiosk was working today. Thanks! CON: the cart I pulled from the third line of carts had some sort of clear liquid in it that I didn't see (left by some sticky child and their parent, I suspect--and I have a child, so I'm REALLY cautious about NOT leaving messes for OTHERS) and it got all over the items I intended to purchase for a bridal shower tomorrow. Found this out when I was heading to the check out. I'd absolutely had it, so I let a clerk know and (PRO) she kindly went back and brought the new items to the register for me. CON: The lady at the check out only scanned the registry for one of the items, though I told her that all three items were on the registry. CON: I'm currently sitting on hold...and have been for the last 7 minutes and 52 seconds because I want to see if they can "fix" the fact that the two items I purchased don't show as "purchased" on the registry. I note that there are other duplicate items on her registry as well.... Still holding. Way to go, Target!!!! read more

This brand new Target is officially my fave. The layout is pretty instinctive, for once, and their grocery section is really nice. The staff seems to like working there, and their hours are awesome. Being right next to a Kroger doesn't hurt either - you can run all your errands in one place. The employees I encountered were very helpful and friendly however the Manager was completley rude it was Thanksgiving night they were supposed to have laptops for $99 however they did not and all laptops where stacked on top of one another everyone was having to grab one and scan to find the price ... So finally I grabbed one for 89.99 with alot less memory as I'm checking out a woman has ome thats on sale for 199.99 and is saying how they were all stacked together and she couldn't find the 99$ one which literally she was back there looking for and heard them say they was sold out just like me and 20 other people looking for them well the manager gives her the 199 one for 99$ so I said I would like the same I went through the exact experience she did and not only did the manager get very rude with me she refused to give me the same price match her words exactly was "your not getting it" when I called corporate they did NOTHING to fix the issue ....
