I really like this place. I wanted to get my suit altered for fitting which I'd bought a few weeks earlier, and zeroed in on this place as it looked the most reasonable one amongst places that were open that day. The owner, Emily, was always responsive to my messages and friendly in person. The pants needed to adjusted for length and blazer for fitting and sleeve length. She did a good job while taking measurements and with the final alteration. Now my suit fits me perfectly. I wasn't particular about getting the work done soon, so she took 3 weeks to complete it, which I didn't care about. But she said she prioritizes the work according to clients needs, so I'm guessing she can do it in a few days if needed. The store in itself is jam-packed with clothes, jewelry, knickknacks, furniture and decorative items of various kinds. It has a very good collection of items but slightly pricey for me. But I'm sure if you're looking for unique stuff to wear for a party or music festival, this'd be great place to check out. I didn't go to the basement, but I'm sure the collection there would be just as good. read more

I definitely think NVISION is one of the best thrift shops in the city. Prices are reasonable, all of the clothes are in good condition and the staff is nice and helpful. I hadn't been since they expanded to the other side of the store where mostly furniture is set up. I found a great golden clutch, that looked like it could have been brand new. Furniture, lamps, toys, art, and lots of other unique stuff from decades past. Don't neglect to check out the basement, either. Tons of great coats, weird artwork and funky-ass light fixtures reside down there. Prices are reasonable, and the owner can do alterations if need be. I love being wrong when I think to myself, "Another day, another vintage store". I'm so resigned to walking into vintage or antique stores and finding just another junk store with more stuff to clutter my space that even after seeing the fantastic window displays I didn't bother. On a sweltering Saturday after spending all afternoon in the back yard we decided to head to the Comet for some air conditioned food and were drawn to the comfy, covered chairs in mustard and aquamarine sitting on the sidewalk. It didn't take long for us to start browsing the interior of the shop. Not only does this store host some of the best priced vintage lamps and furniture I've seen but they also were showcasing artwork by one of my favorite local artists, N. Wright. The clothing selection was impressive though I wish they would have had more shoes. The staff (one dark haired woman in a short dress and tattoos) was friendly enough to answer any questions and tell us there was more furniture downstairs but stayed out of our way as we browsed. I appreciate being able to look around undisturbed and still know someone is available. She busied herself keeping the pillows, clothing and other merchandise straightened and looking it's best. If you're looking for bad ass furnishings and clothing I'd have a hard time recommending anywhere else, do you know how hard it is to find killer lamps in this town? I can't believe I've never visited this store, especially since they've been open since February. The website is well done, easy to navigate and informative. This shop also offers clothing alterations and custom fitting as well as free local delivery within 10 miles of the shop. read more

NVISION opened in early 2008 right next to the Comet in Northside. It's a boutique that specializes in vintage, kitschy fashion, furniture, and accessories. It also features some crafts by local artists and designers, a lot of it repurposing vintage materials. The walls are used to display an eclectic collection of art, recently ranging from hand-painted movie posters from Ghana to "Please?" prints [an homage to local slang] to amazing b/w photographs of bull-fighting. The selection changes regularly, which makes it hard to know what to expect when you go, but that's the beauty of visiting an independent business whose wares are curated with such an individual vision. read more

I didn't get to browse quite as deeply as I wanted because I needed a restroom really urgently, but the selection seemed really nicely curated, the store was laid out well, and I will definitely be back soon. Highlights: I loved the jewelry section. Some really cool pieces and very affordable. The furniture! Mid-century mod is my effin' jam, you guys. There was a knock-off Eames rocker in the window so you know I had to go in. I fell in love with this place the moment I walked in! It feels like a combination of the vintage store in Desperately Seeking Susan and the record store in Pretty in Pink. Emily is the real deal. She has an amazing eye, is kind and approachable and does beautiful alteration work. A few months ago while having some clothes altered, I mentioned to Emily that I had always wanted to learn to alter and sew my own clothing. Months later after having taken weekly sewing classes at nvision, I have made skirts, altered collars, changed necklines of dresses, made a shirt and even a blazer and I'm still learning. This is definitely my second favorite shop in Cincinnati for vintage, thrift, eclectic choices. (Mustard Seed will always fill the No. 1 spot). There are endless dresses, shoes, belts, artwork, furniture, purses and other clothing here. The quality is really good; the prices are fair. The owner is helpful, friendly and does low-price, high-quality alterations. NVISION is probably one of the coolest little vintage shops I have ever been to. The clothing selection was pretty good for guys - I found a sweet vintage shirt that fit me perfectly... plus some pretty sweet sunglasses. There's a ton to look at, and so many hidden gems within this store, you could easily spend an hour in this place. This is a great, well-curated vintage shop on the far north side of, well, Northside. Parking can be a pain, but you can usually find a spot -- just make sure to use your emergency brake. We've purchased several reasonably priced household items here that fit in well with my boyfriend's midcentury obsession, and I've seen many great clothing items that I just didn't pick up due to sizing or budgetary concerns (their prices are reasonable; I'm just poor). The basement is kinda meh (lots of 70s polyester and expensive, costumey stuff), but you never know what you might find down there. I also saw a really nice J. Peterman coat someone had left in the bathroom/fitting room, so it's worth peeking around in there as well! read more

The selection here is amazing, every time I go in I find new and fun pieces. There's plenty of racks to go through, there's a large main level with clothes and home goods and then a basement filled with more clothes. My one complaint is that it is a bit more expensive than other thrift shops in the area, but the items usually tend to be in a very good condition. The pieces I have boughten from here have been unique and they've become favorites in my wardrobe making the price worth it read more
