passing through Long Beach we stopped at this target to pick up a few items. my nine-year-old had to use the restroom and after waiting several minutes for someone to open the door a team member came by unlock the door and said we had to wait because there was a person in the bathroom. They have two single stall restrooms for the entire store. Someone had locked themselves in the bathroom, and as we proceeded to wait for an additional 10 minutes for another team member to come by and do absolutely nothing. I asked if my daughter could use the second single stall restroom labeled employees only because she was about to pee her pants and the female team member said no it was for employees only. Makes me sad that basic human rights such as going to the bathroom are denied to customers, regardless of how dire the situation is. Avoid this location at all. Cost customer service is the last priority. They care more about keeping their restrooms clean then they do about their customers wellbeing by. My daughter ran out crying, to a nearby restaurant and barely made it to the restroom. Worst Target EVER! read more

Bring back self check out. We don't want the "human experience" of waiting in line. We want convenience, peace, and ease of self check out. Target Express stores are designed for those quick daily purchases that you might have. A quick in-and-out. It only carries the most popular and best selling items in each department that you would find in the large stores. Don't come here expecting to do all of your shopping on your first visit. It has everything that you need, but might not carry the particular brand or sizes that you would normally purchase. I personally like it because it's a quick and easy way to pick up a few items without the quarter mile trek from my car into the full Targets. I now know what this Target Express carries and doesn't carry, so I know when to come. It can be a more expensive, so be sure to check target.com or have them price match the larger stores. I'm confused by all the negative reviews regarding the small size and selection of this store. It's a Target "Express" for gosh sakes. You can tell just by looking at the building that it's a small store. Obviously it's not going to carry the same items that a full-size Target carries. Rude staff without any costumer service skills. The restrooms require that you get a team member to allow you to use the facilities even if you are a grown adult and a paying customer. When the team member led me to the door, there was a line so she told me to wait and walked off without even opening the door or looking at me. It was a condescending and dehumanizing experience and I suggest that Target better trains their employees on simple courtesy and costumer service skills, especially considering that they are customer facing. read more

This target is great and definitely one of the largest and best within a twenty mile radius. They could do a better job at the infant, baby, toddler section. There are hardly any clothes there. They've got entirely too much bedding and pillows and rugs and such. The baby aisle could be expanded over that way with more seasonal options, especially locally like promoting the communities of Long Beach seal beach California etc etc. local sports teams that sort of thing. The small size makes it easy to run in and quickly grab the basics. I always check before coming to make sure they stock what I'm looking for, though. You can do this pretty easily in the app. Also, target price matches, so check the online price for something, if it's less than in store they'll correct it for you. My favorite Target express to grab and go for light shopping. I come here to pick up snacks, look at their small selections in beauty, women's &mens apparel, pick-up beverage drinks and small household necessities. Plenty parking available in the big plaza parking lot. They have self-check out machines and you can schedule pick-up orders from online and they have designated parking spots for pick-up orders as well. I like to pick-up coffee here at Starbucks while shopping which is located right when you enter through the front entrance on the right-side. read more

Nothing positive or negative about this target experience. This target is much much smaller than most targets. There is only one entrance door and it's the same door to exit. When you walk in there's a Starbucks on the right which is alway nice. It's not as well lit on the outside and the inside is a little dim. Almost feels like a CVS. I used to love coming to this little Target. Very convenient even though it's a limited location. But the fact that they open early for shoppers but don't open the bathrooms for use until after "8:15am" is ridiculous. I understand there's a homeless demographic around and they need to be careful but i was a normal shopper with a cart full of things. I feel like their employees can be made to use their judgement a bit... This is the first location I visited with one restroom stall that requires an employee of a higher rank to unlock by a secret code. I first asked a minion employee for assistance and he responds very rudely while stocking bread in the nearby aisle " I don't know the code!" To top it off, there was no toilet seat cover or hand soap available. read more

Went to return an item with the intention of getting my money back at first, the cashier only offered me a gift card instead, the computer said recommended but that doesn't mean the only option. Talked to another guest service person, got my refund. Giving it a 1 because the first cashier didn't even try to help me after my concerns, and no one even apologized on their behalf after finally fixing everything. This located is a Junior Target build small for the local college students. I wouldn't consider this a "real" Target store. Very over priced but when using student aid, most young kids dont care. A fancy 7-11, Starbucks and Forever 21 rolled into one. Cool, trendy but definitely not for weekly shopping for anyone over 30. read more

Target Express store located in same plaza as Cha For Tea, Wing Stop and CVS (This store took over the old Ralphs location). Because this is a Target Express store, items may be more expensive than a regular Target store (acccording to an employee). Also the selection and inventory is much smaller than a regular Target store (sadly there is no dollar spot at this location). Anyways, upon my most recent visit, this past Friday, my husband and I walked in to browse. Both my husband and I felt this express store location seems to be catered towards the college students of CSULB (Go Beach!), but there are some non college sold items here though (like baby and children clothes for example is sold here). You can also buy some CSULB apparel (prices do seem comparable to the bookstore on campus). Employees we interacted with were pretty friendly. If you need to use the restroom, it is down C19 aisle. But you will need to ask an employee to put in the passcode to let you in. Overall, a nice and clean small little Target if you need something in a pinch. But there is a regular sized Target store a few miles down on Bellflower and Sterns. read more

Store is very clean which is the always given to a Target from a Walmart. Shelves all fully stocked and good for all shoppers needs. -1 star for me having to carry out my $20 item like a bum with they $.20 plastic bag charge. Also for the self checkout girl being rude and not acknowledging me and just looking like she is a lost person not knowing how to engage with customers. Overall still satisfied with this mini Target store. Always looks out for me and for what I need every visit. Oh and for those that need coffee they have a Starbucks in this location as well... There is no wonder why this target is only 2 and a half stars. From the start I should have known Better. We were standing in line in the hot sun waiting to go in with no kind of tarp or anything to cover the customer from the sun like come on I'm sure target can afford it. Very inconsiderate. Possibly one of the worst stores of any kind Long Beach. On the plus side, it opens early at 7 am and has a Starbucks. Beyond that, the prices are extremely high, at least 50% higher than other Targets. The employees are surly and unhelpful. The store looks as cluttered as a Goodwill after a hurricane. Today about half of the aisles were blocked with something (see attached photos), including employees who were chatting and blocking the aisles, oblivious to customers trying to shop. There is a good Target up the road a couple of miles. Or go to the Rite-aid in the same parking lot--it might be cheaper and the staff is very friendly & helpful. read more

Super Rude Staff. I went in today to exchange some slippers that were too small. Went straight to the "guest service" line and besides 7 people in front of me, I was not treated like a paying customer. Older white Lady who "helped" me seem like she hated her job. The young African American guy who helped with my item return was more annoyed than the First Lady was. He gave me no eye contact and was in a frustrated mood. I was very shocked as this is the first time that I get treated like that at a Target. I expect this from Walmart. Besides that; items are always out of stock. I don't like shopping here.
