I think this is a great idea. I can walk to there from my apartment any time, grab a couple things and head back. The location is pretty convenient. Yeah ok Wal-Mart has better prices but when don't they? I'd still rather not have to drive that far, fight the people traffic, and then wait in line for 20 minutes. Wal-marts a "once a week" shopping trip, but I can go to this Target any time and be happy. Also if I'm going to eat lunch at UTC and then need to get some things afterwards, I'd rather just go to Target instead of Albertsons because the prices are pretty similar. So yeah, I think come the fall there will be a TON of people shopping there, so they might need to beef up security a bit. read more

Be aware this is targets version of a Walmart neighborhood market. Smaller more condensed offerings. Had to hit the one on Bristol.

I'm a Regular at this particular Target ever since it opened June of 2017. I shop here almost every day to get healthy food because I don't like going to fast foods near my College. I am really sorry to say that...This particular Target has a Racial Profiling issue and they discriminates customers that don't look like them. Ever time I shop there, I get cold disrespectful treatments from the Target Employees with having very poor attitudes. I try to put things on hold like my favorite clothing and items, They shove all the clothing in a dirty drawer and tell me to come back at the end of the day, leaving all my clothing all disorganized and wrinkled. When I ask for help to find items in the store there is No help to assist, but when I finally find help, they are very sloppy and disrespectful don't take the time and effort to help me. I thought it was only my point of view, until I wittiness the same treatment to another follow in the store when one employee clearly was following a man all around the store And another issue at one of the main check out lines in the store, employees give out Target bags after transaction(s), but one particular employees dropped the Target bag on the floor next to the customer for them to pic it up from the floor - It was very disrespectful and all the customer wittiness and saw it with shock And then I knew, finally I was not the only one who witnessed disrespect and how that particular Worker shamed that poor customer for no reason at all. At that moment I wanted to call the corporate office to have them know the issues that went one in this store and the multiple bad experiences I get from this store.....It's very draining. I am just a student that just want to get food and go home. I don't want to have to go to an establishment which is a clearly hostel and racist have to come home embarrassed and shamed for who I am FOR SHOPPING!! University Center's Target's in Irvine clearly has a huge issue and it needs to be resolved. The consented Discrimination, Racial Profiling and pure disrespect to "particular people " has to stop!! I think it's time that corporate to be aware of the issues at hand and to notify store mangers to set up general meeting to resolve the issues in this Target store or have corporate clean up shop and to bring in new and better customer service who will treat people like human beings. read more

I have never been this upset going to a Target store. I went online to purchase the PS5 as I saw it was in stock, but it wouldn't let me order it. So i called the store as I was sitting in the car outside of the store, and told them the situation. I was told the counsel was in stock and to come in the store to purchase. I went into the store, waited to be helped just to rudely be told I had to order online. When I explained the situation of me trying to order it online, they rudely told me they only sell online and I had to keep checking the website. They never addressed the fact that i couldn't order it online and they would not assist me. This is not the customer service I would expect from any store. I understand this is a hot commodity right now, but I don't understand the rudeness nor the willingness to assist when you have it in stock and i am trying to go by the right procedure that they themselves have outlined. Never been so disappointed. read more

Why is this particular Target more expensive than other Targets in the area? Example: Starbuck Refreshers $2.50 Starbucks, ALL OTHER Target stores $1.50. This Target store $2.67! read more

This target is clean. It's small, but I do understand it's more of a "target express" or such, as the choices are limited. I don't really mind that because if you really want to browse a full target you can just go somewhere else, but I will say I would only come to this one if I really needed something quickly. What really confused me about this place was the service. I understand that they haven't been open for long and could be working out the kinks, but target is a well established brand/corporation that I didn't think would hire rude employees, especially because I've never encountered that at a target before. My friends and I (and we all work in customer service as well) asked three different employees a question and they all seemed apathetic and rude. We know there are ways to say or phrase things in a way that is appropriate for dealing with customers, and these employees didn't even try. Not a good first impression. Finally, I saw in the other reviews that the prices are inflated at this target. Way to prey off the college students that are struggling with money as it is. read more

Review is actually for the CVS inside Target. Great pharmacy.. attentive.. and quick. As a doc who uses this pharmacy, and sends patients here, I can't say I've had any issues, and in fact have been impressed with them. I've rarely seen more knowledgeable pharmacists who remember who you are, that goes a long way in an often impersonal healthcare environment. read more

Girl is sitting behind cash register playing on her smart phone. As soon as I walk up she tries to run back and avoid me. I even did my own self check out but the receipt didn't print out. So she has an attitude when I ask her to come help me get the receipt. When she opens it up she asked me if I really need the receipt. Unbelievable. She struggles to get the receipt to print and then she finally re-threads it the correct way and it works. She hands me my receipt and tells me that next time I can look my purchases up on my my debit card. I tell her I used cash. What idiots. If you if you don't like your job and you don't have time to work then stay home. read more

Alright, this place is brand new and its in an incredibly convenient location for me. Irvine's university center REALLY needed a convenience store like this! But this target is TINY which means it lacks many of the necessities most convenient stores carry - I was really hoping they would have at least a small section for pet food, but they don't have any. The other huge debby downer about this place is it only has ONE cashier lane - they have plenty of self-checkout lanes, but you can't use those if you're buying beer. read more

This Target location is super convenient and allows people to shop at Target without having to drive all the way to Barranca or the Spectrum. Targeted (ha) to the UCI students, this is a small format store that has attempted to supply the most needed items in its limited space. If you go in expecting the typical large (or super) Target, you may be disappointed. The space here is smaller, and while they pack in what they can without spilling all over the aisles (like Walmart loves to do...ADA be damned) their selection is still limited to what tends to be most desired. There is a variety of teas, soups, produce, and yes, there is booze. Also a small clothing and decent makeup section for essentials as well as a Starbucks with a small nook to hang out. It's actually tucked away nicely that it may even work as a good spot to study. This Target is designed for a quick in and out trip. Not the meandering stroll where you go in for milk and leave with a giant cart full of bedding, lamps, some clothes, and no milk. So the self checkout is the default option. However, you can get someone to check you out if you hate those machines like I do. The employees were all super friendly when I was there including when I was checking out and needed help with the aforementioned self checkout machine. Want to go shopping and browse? You may want to still head over to Barranca. But for a quicker in and out trip of some essentials you don't want to drive across town for? This is the place to go. read more

Worst target I've ever been to. Should be disclosed as a target express. Everything is priced so high. Don't go here.

Went to this target a few times only because it's in walking distance from me. 80% of the time I've had an issue. Products on the shelves are expired or going to expire within that week, the prices never match what the shelves say & you have to get it refunded AFTER you make your purchase unless there's a manager there, and they carry a minimal amount of products that aren't really fit for consumers. read more

Having a Target at UTC is so convenient for the students and parents. Students can grab supplies or snacks in a pinch and parents can shop while they wait for their kids to finish karate/dance classes. Be aware that this Target is smaller than other Targets. This Target is targeted for college students' needs and will not have every single item like other ones. Prices are noticeably higher by a couple of dollars compared to the other stores. Convenience comes at a price. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Come down to get an idea of what they have and in the future, if you need something, you'll know if they carry it. read more

Note: I am not a UCI student, but live not too far. However, I was excited that a Target would open closer to me than the other Targets in the area. I knew it would be a smaller format. I was a bit disappointed in some of the selection. Will this Target location give me reason to shop here in lieu of driving further to the other Targets? No, not completely. Maybe on certain items. I am also a bit disappointed that certain items are actually more expensive at this Target compared to the other Targets. Hence, for that reason, this Target location will not completely replace my shopping at the other Targets further away. read more

So convenient! They even have a pharmacy at the back w a super friendly pharmacist and staff.

Smaller size target, problem I had was with the employees. Tried to use bathroom and had been waiting for 10 minutes when employee cut in front of me to clean it, without acknowledging my wait or saying anything to me . When the other restroom opened up, not 2 minutes after I had gotten in the same employee bangs on the door several times. When I was finished and got out she rushed in as I was still trying to exit the bathroom. Then in self checkout they had some new employee stand there and do the self checkout for me, but he was clearly not interested in his job and what normally would be a 30 second self checkout took 4 minutes with him forgetting to press buttons. Literally 5 other employees stood around being as useless and unhelpful as possible. Just a really shitty Target. But I did get some cookie butter Oreos, so that's why they got any stars at all. read more

Brandon was very helpful and awesome! Showed me how to use target app and showed me some nice saving tips, took time. Appreciate it 10/10

It's a well laid out small convenient store. With a few UCI items and grocery items to fill apartment or dorm room. I did not appreciate being rushed out just because they want to close the store. Next time I'm going to Albertson's read more

This is some sort of mini-Target. Stupid. Doesn't have everything a normal target has. I went expecting a normal target store and this is some BS target. No indication otherwise posted. read more

Love this target, I come in to grab the quick items that is needed to make dinner every night after work. Prices are pretty reasonable for the area. I enjoy that it's not to big bcuz that means I don't wander off and buy the entire store. Definitely perfect for the UCI students that are across the street. Very jealous. Wish I lived in walking distance like them. Thankfully I work a couple streets down that this is a stop on the way home. Best thing is everything is brand new and there's a Starbucks!! read more

Just to save you some time this is NOT A REAL TARGET. Very misleading. Only has about 5 isles. Although this area desperately needs a REAL Target this should be called a CVS not a Target. read more

The outside looks like a Target but don't be fooled. This is a "Target Express," which is 1/10 the size of a real Target. The sign outside should reflect this! :-/ It's probably just what a UCI student needs in a pinch, but not quite what a mommy needs. read more

The food prices are quite high compared to the Trader Joe's that's just a couple stores down. Bananas were all overripe (didn't check out other produce). They have a very limited selection of other items, most of what they do have is overpriced and if you could wait a day or two for Amazon delivery, it's definitely worth it (ex. Same Basketball at target for $23, found on Amazon for $7). Only one changing room to try on their clothing, although they could've fit four in the same floorspace. The staff's customer service skills were nonexistent (no smiles, greetings, etc) and it seemed like they followed me as if I would steal. First impressions are everything and they've definitely failed in my opinion. As a young-looking minority, I surely didn't feel welcome and won't spend another dime at that store. read more

We were very excited to have a Target just a few walksteps from home, and we thought that it would be a better option than alberstons, but my wife and me were in for a bad surprise. Not only is the selection extremely limited and curated by someone who has no idea what are the need of the community but it is also very expensive. Items are from 30 to 200 percent more than regular Target, clearly priced to take advantage of foreign students. Apparently this is the first Target of it's kind, I hope they learn to correct the prices or fail in their experiment. read more

I mean this place does have a lot you need, but there is not much variety. Hi...I am a local college student and I am about to share with you my thoughts on this Target. I am actually a very big fan of target. I feel I can get pretty good quality for a fair price. I typically don't go out shopping and go through with the task virtually, but when I do, Target is normally my go-to. This Target is very new and I was sort of expecting more. It is aesthetically pleasing and I love walking through it, but the prices seem a bit higher for a small quantity. I know they are trying to cater to a different population, but they should be charging so high for such items. Another concern is the selection. Target is known, at least from my point of view, to be an establishment with a variety of many different items. You don't really see that here mainly because of size constraints, but why build a Target in such a small lot of land. Well if you have transportation, I would recommend going to the other Target in Irvine, but if this is your only option, it's not too bad. read more

Parents beware. This is not a full Target, and is without a kids section. I went here while in the area because it came up as the closest Target. Of the dozen items on my list they had one. The store is clean, quick self check-outs and I'm sure super convenient for the university students. Just feels like they should be called something different so those who have never been to the "boutique" style Target are not mislead and wasting our time. read more
