This is a very small Target store located just outside of the UC Irvine campus. During my visit, it was crowded with college students as the campus is across the street, and there are student apartments, making this a very convenient location for many. Though it was much smaller than a regular Target, one can still find most items they want and need. Parking is available in the large, private parking lot. read more

Target - Department Stores Near Me - Irvine, California

Back to school time! This small Target is convenient for UC Irvine students. Right across campus in the University Town Center, nestled in this location is a mini CVS Pharmacy and a limited selection of what's sold at the larger Target stores. If you want to buy clothes, keep in mind only one dressing room exists. When I went in to try on a F1 graphic t-shirt, I noticed sand on the dressing room seat. Huh. I wasn't finding what I needed as it was my first time here and I wasn't familiar with the layout. One of the employees told me where the travel sizes were. Another wasn't exactly sure where dishwashing gloves were but told me the few rows in which they would be. After a short, fruitless search, I came across the machine which enables customers to search the store and gives details on the location, pricing, and availability of what they want. I realized later that I could have found the information to all my questions and more by downloading and using the app. Could have, should have, would have? I don't know. The employees I interacted with were courteous. I was greeted and helped in a polite way. read more

I love this Target Lite!!!!!! Target Anonymous should really meet here. I love Target, but can easily lose hours in a regular one. If I were a man, I'd walk in clean shaven and walk out with a five o'clock shadow every time. That's why I love this particular Target, it's small, focused, and prevents me from accidentally spending $200 when all I needed was toothpaste. It's conveniently in the same plaza as Trader Joe's, so I can grab everything I need in one stop. I've used online pickup multiple times, and it's always smooth and efficient. read more

This target can get super busy as it's right by UCI. They have a pretty good selection of things and is smaller than a regular target but this target is mostly catered to students so it's a little different then regular targets. Noe was helpful in guiding me through the store. Thank you so much! They also close at 10 as well. Be prepared to wait when checking out as the foot traffic here is pretty high. read more

Environment was good. Service was good. Selection of games was good. Pretty cool place too

Nice mini Target store that surprisingly has a lot of the main grocery items if you need them. I found the front display right when you walk in from the main entrance, like two aisles down, is a loaded aisle of alcohol. Makes sense, as this location is part of the University Center neat the UCI campus. Store is really clean and they have some selection of clothing, basics was what I saw, drinks, snacks, toiletries, etc. The prices here look about the same as any regular Target you'd visit...just smaller. I only saw a self-checkout area, and that's where most people paid for their items. There may be a cashier somewhere, but I didn't happen to see any. But fun store to browse through, too. read more

I was surprised this was even a Target. This small nook-like store had nothing in stock and no stick ppl wanted to purchase. I mean no Christmas items on Dec 20? strange... read more

Had to bring in three very large and heavy packages for return. Bryan was kind, helpful, and communicative and helped coordinate staff (while simultaneously training new staff) and support to make it easy. Thanks Bryan and team! read more

Smallest target ever. It should be labeled as a mini target or something. I went in to try to find a deck of cards. It's kind of like a CVS. With a few home product. I walked through and walked out. read more

NEVER send gifts via Target. Use Amazon! Most of the baby swings they offer are not available in stores. I placed an order September 20th with a delivery date for Friday, September 22nd. Within hours, the ETA was updated to September 26th. When checking the tracking info today, the item is still being processed, with a new delivery date of October 3rd. Customer service advised they are unable to edit any orders using third-party vendors and would not be able to assist unless the product was not delivered by October 10th. This became a huge inconvenience for the new parents waiting. read more

This is a smaller Target and since it's located right near UCI, it really seems intended for college students and their needs. They have a decent-sized grocery section in one quadrant and then sell cosmetics, medicine, school supplies, pajamas, sweatpants and toiletries throughout the remainder of the store. They have quite a few self-checkout counters in the back, which seems ideal for students who just need a few items quickly. Not the greatest place for families to shop, as they don't have a toy section, but again, great for collegians! read more

Cute little mini target, me and my friends went a couple times since we just started college in the area and it had everything we needed for back to school stuff. Shout out to Aiden, he was super helpful and polite last time I went. Overall good place to shop. read more

Ya so this is the second small convenience type Targets I've been too and I'm not a fan. It's just not Target. It feels like a CVS or Walgreens. Plus this one the restrooms were nasty! There's only two all gender restrooms and it was just nasty. I guess since this is near the University they get heavy college student volume. Not a fan of this location. read more

I recently had an unfortunate encounter with Abdullah at the Target store while attempting to process a return. His demeanor was notably rude and disrespectful throughout the entire process. He questioned why we wanted to speak with a manager during this uncomfortable exchange. I hope Target addresses this issue promptly to ensure a more positive environment for its customers. Bri took over and was very kind and apologetic for him even though none of it was her fault. read more

This review is specifically for "Em" one of the newer team members. I had such a great experience with Em that I felt the need to shout her out. As we know, "customer service" is a dying breed. Nobody cares anymore about anybody. I was looking for a specific hyperallergenic baby formula that nobody has anywhere. I saw on the website that they were in stock at this location. When I went to the baby section it wasnt there. I shared my concern with Em and she immediately went to check the back for me. She later informed me the shipment was still on the truck but that she would call me once it was stocked. SHE ACTUALLY FOLLOWED THROUGH AND CALLED ME! She went ABOVE AND BEYOND for me...a stranger...because she knew my baby needed it! I was so in awe of such a kind gesture because people just font care anymore but SHE did. Thank you EM! read more

This Target stinks! It's not only small but barely has anything here. It's just a waste of space to be honest. When you think of a Target you think of a store that has everything you need and you always end up buying more than you need. Not here..u can barely find anything you need here. Don't bother shopping at this location...go somewhere else read more

A nice compact store with virtually everything on hand you can get at the regular locations. Most merchandise steers towards the needs of an undergraduate obvs. The best feature is that checkout is versatile. Right now all the staions are self-checkouts yet they can easily be converted to assisted ones. 2 thumbs up! read more

What is the point of a service desk phone line if NO ONE IS EVER GOING TO ANSWER? Online orders are fulfilled by each employee carrying a device, yet y'all can't figure out how to add a feature that allows them to answer a call? Figure it out. read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. Placed an online order this morning which was completed. An hour later, my order was cancelled citing low stock. I just went in and there is plenty of stock, so I called online support and was told it was actually cancelled due to a pricing error. Sorry, but I paid, you should have double checked your price first. Regardless, I was told that I would still be paying the processing fee. It's only $1, but still it's a dollar I am paying to have a terrible experience and get nothing in return. So basically, Target stole my money. Target used to be my go-to store, but you have lost my business as a result of your shady practices. read more

The parking spots are as small and compact as this Target is. It is a merge with CVS Pharmacy and Starbucks, it is located in the back of Target. The "Target" of this location is to provide only the necessities amenities for college students who are living on campus or at the school. This is not eliminating any customers from the students but it in terms it is "limited products." Not everything seen at the regular Target will be available here. It is very particular products. I did find some a nice pan here, but it is a bit more expensive than the regular Target. This is the last resort, they have cooking essentials, bedding, school supplies, food, groceries, and self-check out! Okay Okay, it is a good selection of items, and very convenient. Some Parking spots are more compact than other, and there is a movie theater next door so it is a shared parking lot with the other businesses. It is also marked with 40 minutes limit parking. It is part of UTC. A walk across the bridge or a drive across from the Social Science Parking Structure. I come here to buy my snacks, and the staff is nice and helpful. I never had any issues with this Target. I am not there with a full grocery list as I can tell that this is not what this Target is meant for. It is limited varieties to provide a convenience. read more

This snack sized Target would fit inside my apartment. Super small, hardly anything here at all, and one closet for a dressing room. Time limit stamped on each parking spot with a max of 45 minutes. I saw the whole store in 2 minutes. No pharmacy and no food court. The grocery area is basically a few shelves full of sugar and junk food with a couple baskets of fruit. read more

This Target is located in UTC next to UCI. I really like this Target because it is just so convenient when you need a quick trip to get some stuff. They have a small area for groceries, office supplies, clothing, and a Starbucks as well as a small CVS. Parking is ample because it is in the town center although close parking may be limited because of that same reason. Service is friendly. I used their ship-to-store option before and that was really fast and efficient as well. Love their little UCI corner! read more

Only worth visiting if you need true essentials (ie: toothpaste, birthday card, post-ins, makeup wipes). Service is good, but the selection is rough. I understand it's a small footprint, but I almost wish they would call it "Target Neighborhood" or something, because the assortment doesn't compare to a normal Target. read more

Mini location meant to serve students. If you have a car, DONT COME HERE. Ppl driving crazy. My car was impacted by a hit and run, and the security company's cameras straight up don't work--pretty sure they're just for show. So if smth happens to you, you're screwed. Yea, you can get a hit and run anywhere, but it would've been nice to at least been able to get what I was looking for before being routed to this mini store read more

Tried calling customer service at this location. None of the departments answer their phones. Wow.

This is a great target if you need to pick up something quick and go. Majority of the store is a market. Deli meat, fruit, snacks, frozen food, candy, beverage on the left. A small selection of clothes in the middle. Electronics, cleaning supplies, And storage boxes to the right. Makeup in the back along with a pharmacy. It's maybe the size of 2 7-11s. They also have a Starbucks to the right. Customer service is a hit or miss. read more

Target is always a cool place because you can find anything from video games to herbal tea. However the only reason I am giving this four stars is because it is quite a small store, and I had one kind of offensive experience there. I've never stolen a thing in my life and I got this look from the security guard there like I was putting eggs in my pocket or something. Anyway, I had to confront him and I Did so in a manner That I wasn't truly proud of in retrospect. for that I apologize young man. So as far as the story goes quite small, however everything is nice and tidy and is very close to my home which is extremely convenient. Thank you kindly, read more

Place is ghetto. You would think it would be nice, but no. I saw some homeless guy in here, completely twaked out on drugs and their 'security' did nothing about it. He was standing there, like someone was controlling him from a remote and left the remote. This was inside the building, kids were looking at him. It was a big upsetting. They do have a good selection about things, and 'ok' prices at best, but security needs to amp up their game read more

A target on campus... pretty convenient for students. The store was much bigger than I thought, but still small compared to normal targets. Not sure when they exactly opened but I stopped by yesterday 7/18 There's a produce area, clothes, jewelry, makeup, school supply, toiletries, Starbucks and any bare minimum necessities found in a larger target. There's even a pharmacy right across from self check out. The big difference is that the prices are definitely higher than most targets, probably one or two dollars more. read more

This is the first "small-format" Target (meaning less than 20,000 sq.ft) location in Orange County, and it's conveniently located across the bridge from UC Irvine! With the nearest "traditional" Target store a few miles away over at Barranca/Culver, this location is a nice addition to the surrounding area, especially for students who may not have access to cars. I stopped by this morning to check it out - and right away noticed that despite the smaller format, there seems to be a good variety of things that your typical college student would need (let's face it, this store was designed to cater specifically to the student population here, not your typical Target shopper). There is a tiny clothing section with products that students favor (such as t-shirts, underwear, socks), rather than the more expansive offerings at the bigger format stores. The grocery/food section takes up nearly a third of the store - I did notice that prices were on par with Albertson's down the street - for instance, milk here was a couple cents more than Albertson's or Trader Joe's. There was a decent produce/bakery/meat section. One thing that was disappointing was the variety of prepackaged foods. For instance, in their instant oatmeal section, there's five columns of Quaker Maple and Brown Sugar instant oatmeal. My favorite "flavor" - Raisins, Dates and Walnuts was nowhere to be seen. Out of the many flavors instant oatmeal comes in, this Target only offered like four of them. For students who like to drink - there's a huge section with beer/wine/other alcohol alone. Drink responsibly. The household goods/school supplies section is rather vast, and for the most part, I was able to find everything I needed that I wanted to get. The remaining section of the store focused on dormroom essentials like lamps, trash cans, laundry stuff, bedding and a tiny electronics section. I didn't notice this, but there's a Starbucks up front. This Target also has self checkout lanes, which is a plus in terms of efficiency - as I notice most supermarkets near college campuses offer self checkout. There are a few staffed checkout lanes as well for those who prefer that service. This will be convenient for those who don't have access to a car or transportation and live nearby. It's also helpful for those who don't want to wait the 2-days that it takes Amazon Prime to get their products to you. Finally, being that it is in University Center - there is a strict parking policy - 45 minutes. While that should be generous enough for a quick stop, don't expect to be able to just browse and spend hours in here like you would be able to at a traditional Target. Overall, a nice addition to the UC Irvine area. Zot Zot Zot read more

This target is a great edition to UTC. It's extremely convenient to come here from UCI. They have almost everything so if you're looking for something general this is a solid place to come! The parking is not too bad because they installed sensors to where you can only park in front for 45min. The store itself has a Starbucks and two entrances which makes life a lot easier. The only downside is because it's a smaller version of a normal target is it does not have everything you need. I, particularly, was looking for duct tape and they did not have it. read more

This is the worst target I've ever been into. I tried it out once, a while ago. I remember trying to find something (possibly baby shower gift?) - terrible idea. The store is so small definitely didn't find what I was looking for and had to go somewhere else. That trip was a complete waste of my time. In all honesty, I made the bad decision to go back in August 2019 to pick up some things for a bachelorette party I was throwing. It was great at first! A couple of the guys were really sweet. They saw I had a lot of items for a little basket and offered to get me a cart. I politely declined as I had a broken foot and had to have major surgery. I wasn't feeling very confident in my cart pushing abilities while on a push scooter. The stars are for the gentlemen that showed kindness (I wish I got your name at the time because y'all should be recognized). You both deserve 5 stars!!! Also, to their parents; I can tell that these guys were raised well! The lack of stars belong to the chick working the register. Things were decent at first. Then there was this.. Towards the end of her ringing up my groceries, I politely asked if I could take the basket to my car and I would bring it right back. She told me no. I thought she was joking at first, but I was quick to realize that she was not. I made 3-4 unnecessary trips back and forth from my car to the store. Also, one of the boxes I had bought ended up breaking. Cans rolling around EVERYWHERE! Thank you to the kind Samaritans that helped pick them up for me!! I really don't know why this chick had such a hard time with me taking the basket. I've been to many stores and they had no problem with me bringing the basket back once I had everything loaded into my car. In fact, I ended up going to a grocery store right after this trip. And the employees were so pleasant! While waiting in the checkout line, I made friends with the people around me and they were asking if I needed help and I told them that I should be good unless they won't let me take the basket to my car. They looked at me funny and I had to explain the situation. We all ended up joking and laughing about it. The cashier laughed at me when I asked him my question. When I came back with the basket I made sure to let the cashier know that their basket was safe and unharmed. That gave us all some good and much needed laughter. To the unhelpful cashier just know that the handles of the basket made it easy to transport everything. I wasn't going to take it so I can live in it. I have some words of advice: - Please work on your manners. Your behavior isn't going to get you very far. - Treat people the way you want to be treated. I'm pretty sure you would not have been okay if I showed you the same lack of respect you showed me. - Put yourself in other people's shoes. I'm pretty sure you would have been annoyed and frustrated with me if I said no while you were in my situation. I pray that you change the way you treat people because you obviously aren't good with treating someone with a temporary disability. And it's concerning That if I could be treated like this I wonder what is actually happening to people with a more server disability. This behavior was not okay! Be a nice human Thank you read more

This review is based on what I noticed on 6.18.17, which I'm pretty sure is before they said they would "officially" open. They were giving away free products like tortilla chips, bai drinks, and sparkling aquafina drinks. They also had a little popcorn cart, caricatures(!), and a DJ booth. Cool they sell UCI gear here too. As far as a Target next to UCI, this is a small Target. But it packs as much as it can, including a CVS pharmacy and Starbucks. But if you think they'll have as many options in what it offers, you'd be wrong. They do sell groceries, electronics, household items, and clothes. Just not as much volume as you'd want. Luckily, the convenience factor is off the churt! As far as the cons, the prices were kind of really high in comparison with other targets. Like 25% more expensive. Hopefully that changes, but this Target will most likely be busy anytime that it's open due to location and the awesomeness of Target. read more

There should be ample parking available on either side of Target, but with construction it can be tight since it is shared with a lot of restaurants, the USPS, and other stores. As with most Target stores these days, there's a Star Bucks inside this Target. It's not a full sized Target that carries everything, but it is geared towards the needs of UCI students. They'll be able to purchase school supplies, general supplies, as well as food, snacks, and drinks. There were a lot of self check-out registers available at both exits if you only have a few items or if the line for an actual cashier is long. read more

Target - I remember when these were impossible to find in stores! - Department Stores Near Me - Irvine, California

When we heard that a Target was opening in this center we were excited because it is much closer to Newport than the one on Culver, but man this Target it tiny! Unfortunately, we still have to trek down to the one on Culver. My biggest issue with this Target is the fact that everything is more expensive than a normal large scale Target by at least a few dollars. The solution and my number one biggest tip if you have to go here for convenience is to go to the customer service counter and hand over your items and ask them to price match everything to their own website. It works every time! Also, don't rely on their Target application if you are in the store because the geotagging actually changes its prices (there have recently been news articles about this practice). Another issue I have with this store is that it says things are in stock when they aren't. Yikes. This place is okay if you need something in a pinch, but otherwise go to a normal Target. read more

This target sucks and they sell expired deli meat. I am normally really good about checking expiration dates, but yesterday I did not, and the two packages of deli meat that I purchased have an expiration date of 7/6 and i purchased them on 7/15. Unfortunately, I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow and do not have time to drive from Laguna Beach to University to fix this issue, so I am likely out the $12 I spent. Thanks Target and kids working at this location. read more
