I like this target but I don't like the bathroom always being dirty. Stuff is ready to find but the check out staff can be a bit abrasive.

(4) ~ very good Target, probably the best in the area, when compared to Gathersburgh, Rockville & Bethesda. Although Rockville is a close second;) No Parking garage for this location, just a regular outdoor lot, which is easier to navigate;)lol read more

Ah, Target Greatlands, what makes you so great?? I know it's that you carry food products and have a refrigerated/frozen aisle, but is that all? What makes you better than my neighborhood Target? Why should I bother driving up to Germantown to find you? Is it because you have a Pizza Hut inside? Is it because you have a Starbucks inside? It is because you scarily are starting to resemble Walmart? Why should I visit you if I get lost in your aisles? Why should I visit you if you don't seem to carry much more than my Gaithersburg Target? Why should I visit you if the shopping center is a pain to get in and out of? Why should I visit you when your bathrooms are stinky and crowded? Why am I reviewing you only in questions? read more

I think this Target got infected with whatever contaminated the WalMart across the street. The aisles are disorganized, and the layout of the store isn't quite as smooth as other Target stores. Also, there always seems to be a line...even when it's not that busy. Still, it's a Target and better then WalMart. read more

Despite their recent security breach, I'm still a fan of Target. I've been coming to this location for years. This Target is generally pretty good, depending on what you're looking for. I do love that this location has a Starbucks. The selection can be iffy. If you're looking for something in particular you should call ahead to make sure it's in stock. Competence of employees is erratic as well. I once asked one of the guys working in the grocery department if they had any celery (you know, the green, stalk vegetable?) and he had NO idea what I was talking about. No language barrier either, just clueless. The electronics department is definitely the shining star of this store. Every employee I've ever spoken to in this department is extremely helpful and friendly. The costumer service desk also varies--greatly. Tonight's visit is what is prompting this review. I went in to purchase a humidifier and noticed the same one is available on Amazon for about $10 cheaper than it's offered in stores. I walked over to the Customer Service desk with my merchandise, smiled and said, "Hey, how are you?" to the CSR. She responds, curtly: "Fine. What can I do for you?" Me: "I just need you to price match this for me, please. I have it right--" CSR: "Where?" Me:"Uh, Amazon. I have it right here on my phone..." She ignores me and proceeds to walk over to the store tablet and look it up there. She hollers the price across to me, to which I respond, "Yup." Overall, she did what I wanted I am just salty about her attitude. Would it really kill you to say hello or, gee, I don't know--smile? Overall, her behavior was really brusque. It was like dealing with a surly teenager who is too cool for school, but she's definitely not a teenager, despite her over-application of eyeliner. I'm sick. If I can muster a smile and pleasantries, surely someone working at the customer SERVICE desk should be able to do the same, right? read more

I love Target but seriously if you can please go to another location. They are never fully stocked the shelves are almost always bare!

this target is nice, i wish there were more kitchen organizational items but overall their stock is decent. it would be brilliant if their pharmacy had longer hours but that's just me. particular items they don't carry that i want: - cloth lint "brushes" (the kind that look like stiff velour) - mrs. meyer's clean day APPLE SCENT liquid hand soap - medium sized architec brand cutting boards - purex natural elements ultra concentrate liquid laundry detergent in the APPLE & MELON scent it's brilliant that they have a pizza hut and starbucks here. coke icee or starbucks while i shop! whoohoooo! i agree with solace, the target team members actually come up and ask if you need anything. cashiers on the otherhand, really don't want to be there. haha oh well. read more

Target - Department Stores Near Me - Germantown, Maryland

Staff who were here and engaged were friendly and courteous if worn down a bit. Could not find a red vest in the aisles to help find things, one of twelve registers were open, one of four customer service stations were open, many empty shelves with lower end products remaining and many items mis-shelved. This used to be my go-to place but the shopping experience was very poor. Someone is using a minimizing staffing model and they need to double headcount. read more

I like this Target for a number of reasons. One, it's Target. Going to any Target is an almost guarantee of a good time. You can go in expecting to buy one thing and end up walking to your car with your arms full of bags. The kind of stuff you can find if you really spend time looking is awesome. So if you're really tight on a budget, don't go to Target! Two, this specific Target is always clean and well-stocked. I've been coming here for years and have always been able to find what I'm looking for (and more...). Three, the prices are great. As a student, I'm a big planner user. I've been one for years - all throughout high school and now college. Buying a new planner every year can be expensive, especially when the ones at Staples and Office Depot sell for $20-$40. Since I found the ones at this Target, I never go anywhere else. They're cuter, have more space for writing, and cost a fraction of the other ones. Granted, I wouldn't buy all of my groceries at Target because some things are way cheaper at, say, Walmart next door. But the knick-knack $1-$5 section is so fun. And my mom, who wears a hijab, loves the multi-colored scarves at an affordable $15-$20 a piece. Four, the CARTS. I'm sorry, do normal people not obsess over the quality of shopping carts? Because I do. Normal shopping carts are so often rickety, heavy, hard to push, one wheel dies and the whole cart becomes disabled, a nightmare. But the ones at this Target are so smooth, comfortable, lightweight, really a joy to use. Five, the in-store restaurants - Pizza Hut Express and Starbucks. It's so convenient to pick up a coffee before shopping and sip on it while I hunt for some deals. Six, they sell separate contact lens cases! Maybe it's just me, but I cannot find these anywhere. Everywhere I've checked, I have to purchase solution in order to get the case. But this location sells packs of cases and I cannot be happier about it. Change your cases every month, guys. Target has cute patterned ones so you never get bored. Although I have never used the pharmacy, it's important to note that it's now CVS/Target. Target now has access to the CVS system, just in case you were getting your prescriptions through CVS and would like to transfer or vice-versa. The returns line is almost always long and there's almost always just one person working it, which sucks. But luckily, it has moved pretty quickly when I've had to make a return or exchange. It's nowhere near as bad as the returns line at Walmart. Gah. I find the employees to be okay. No one has ever been rude to me, but no one has ever been really nice either. A friend of mine is a former employee, so I know how miserable the job can be sometimes. I try not to judge. I've never had an encounter with management except for one time when my film team needed permission to film inside the store for a documentary we were doing on beauty standards in the media (we wanted shots of the beauty aisles basically). They said no, which was a bummer but we respected their authority. They were polite about it. All in all, this Target is great. I'll continue to shop here. read more

If I can give a zero star I would. . I was looking for disinfectants everywhere and they say windex multi surface spray is in stock for Germantown and Gaithersburg stores. I go there and of course there are none on the shelves. Their online system clearly stinks. I would never shop at target again. Walmart app is more easy to use and accurate. DO NOT trust target online available stock system! I wasted my time and gas today... ugh!!! read more

I am not a fan of writing poor reviews, so when I do, it's because I feel really compelled to do so. Unlike any other target I've been in, this one was filthy. I was shocked at how many messes on the floor there were with no signs of cleaning to be seen. I walked through puddles, some kind of sandy substance, and sticky messes all throughout the store. Upon entering I browsed the 1.00 section at the beginning of the store. There were some pretty cool travel mugs that I would have bought had it not been for the packaging material all over them that would not come off. The lids of the mugs were made of that type of soft plastic that things stick to easily so all of the fine foam packaging material was stuck to every lid making them all feel sandy. I was shocked to see this on the shelf. Clothes were not put back properly, other items were in wrong sections throughout the store. It was a pretty disappointing trip. read more

Worst target experience ever. How can you not have any checkout lanes open. No one wants to stand in line for self checkout for 30+ minutes.

Who would ever need help at target? There's sooo much to spend there. I go in wanting to spend no more than $20 and end up with a total over $50. Anyways, don't ever think I've asked for help here. But this morning my husband & I were looking for quite a few things in electronics. Justin was in the middle of something & he had no problem stopping to help us. He seemed to answer all of the questions that we had & made a lot of suggestions. He had great customer service and was extremely patient with us. Thanks Justin!!!! Also, before we started shopping we stopped at the Pizza Hut. There was an older lady there, I can't remember her name but she was extremely nice too! read more

I have a bit of a dilemma here. On the one hand, I have a number of complaints about this store and I wind up being frustrated and/or annoyed almost every time I shop here. On the other hand, I keep coming back and spending way too much money. Heck, I'll make excuses to drive to this store when I could have gone to other places that were closer to home. To break it down, I guess I should start with the positives. Target has a great selection of... well, everything. I can walk in to pick up a pack of light bulbs and walk out with $200 worth of DVDs, video games, clothes, baby supplies, furniture, lamps, blenders, mousetraps, dish soap, groceries, pet food, and various other things that I didn't realize that I needed until I saw them on the shelf. I occasionally find things that I simply can't find anywhere else, and their prices often beat the online retailers. The store is simply a blast to browse through. That said, this locations problems can be summed up in one phrase. They just don't care. Don't get me wrong, the place isn't a total wreck or anything, but it's just not quite what it should be. It's a little bit dirty, prices are frequently missing and/or wrong, items are misshelved, and the staff don't often seem to know anything about the merchandise. One example is the Blu-Ray display in the DVD section. It includes a television that is playing a BluRay demo disk on a loop. This is supposed to demonstrate how amazing the picture quality of BluRay is so that people will buy the discs. Unfortunately, someone messed with the colors so that it displays in a color negative. All the blues are orange, the reds are blue, etc. It looks awful, and I have repeatedly told people ranging from random staff, up through management, and even sent letters to upper management and they have never done anything about it. It would take five minutes with a remote control (if they can't find it, they can open one of the universal remotes that they sell in the store) but they don't seem to care. It has, if I recall correctly, been like this for about six months. If I were a manager, I would have someone fix this the first time I saw it. And if it could not be fixed, it would be better to take the TV down than to use this ugly picture to advertise your product. Another example: I recently went there looking for a few video cables (Best Buy was closed). I found a small display of three or four cables all from the same manufacturer. I saw an employee cleaning and asked her if there were any more HD video cables and she assured me that there were not. I finally picked up a couple, walked around the corner, and in about five steps noticed a huge wall display of various cables, all of which were cheaper than the ones I had been looking at. So either the employee didn't know about the other display (in which case the answer should have been "I don't know" or "let me find out for you") or she deliberately lied to me to get me out of her hair. Either way it shows a disdain for the customers. I have also overheard completely wrong information being given to customers on several occasions, especially in the electronics area. Questions about whether a camera has a certain feature being answered with "yeah, I guess." Almost stereotypical retail slacking. Of course, I have run into some great employees there as well, but the negative seems to outweigh the positive. In short, I'll continue to shop here (though I'll probably start going to the Gaithersburg location more often) but only because of the good prices. If I think I might need even a tiny bit of customer service I'll go elsewhere. And I would recommend that you do the same. read more

I love Target and make my weekly trips here for buying home items and groceries. This store is located in a shopping center next to TJ Maxx. There is a huge parking lot, and they recently installed additional stop signs so be aware of pedestrians. The selection here is decent, but I wish they had more clearance end caps. There have been a few times where I would find an item in the clearance section with no tag. It could be more organized because once I take the unmarked item to the cashier it could take some time before they locate a price. The store has a Starbucks inside which is a lifesaver for those days where you need an extra shot of energy to make it through your errands. I noticed that there is usually one barista there and when it gets busy a line will form since the same person also has to be the cashier. They really do need at least one more person to help things run more efficiently. This store also has self-checkout available. It is a great idea when you only have a few items to purchase. I find that it does a pretty good job scanning coupons as well, but will have its occasional hiccups when doing so. However, if an attendant is available it helps to make the transaction go smoothly. As far as the employees go, I do think they lack in customer service skills. During one visit, a manager named Ebony had to be called over to verify an item that I had a coupon for. It was for a specific toothbrush model and she was examining the box to make sure that it was the correct product. Another customer happened to be around and told the manager that it is the same product (he was trying to assist so he could be helped next). Ebony did not appreciate that and abruptly raised her voice at him, telling him that she could read the box herself. I was pretty shocked because there was absolutely no reason for her to become so agitated and this gentleman was calm. Finally, she told the cashier to honor the coupon and said, "...because if you don't he will keep screaming and she will keep talking." It was completely unprofessional and uncalled for. I called corporate two weeks ago and explained the experience to them and to this day NO RESPONSE. The manager was downright rude and that behavior was unacceptable. On another visit, I inquired about a store promotion and wanted to know if a specific item was included. The associate called over someone named to Tina to ask. She did not know the answer was what I was told. So instead of offering to find out, I basically was left without an answer to my question. read more

This review is for the Starbucks inside Target, not the actual store. The employees are some of the worst i have ever come across, every single one is rude and overly aggressive. The Starbucks itself is filthy and smells bad, and no matter what i order my drink is always messed up. After a horrific incident yesterday i have filed a formal complaint with Starbucks corporate and will no longer attempt to order from this location. Its sad because this is the closest one to my job and unfortunately i will have to drive 10 minutes out of the way to get my coffee fix. But i cannot, and will not subject myself to the eye rolling, attitudes, or messed up drinks any more. I'm not kidding when i say its absolutely not worth it, just go to a real Starbucks, RUN ! read more

Who doesn't love Target? I love shopping here! The only downfall is the staff doesn't always stay on top of their pricing/promotions. I'll see a sign up for "buy 3 get $5 gift card" and intentionally buy 3, only to check out and realize that promotion ended a week ago and no one removed the sign (I suppose I could have thoroughly read the signage but one would assume if it's up, it's a current promotion) other then that I have no complaints. Crissie in customer service is always helpful and smiling. read more

Came to Target for the apple watch deal on thanksgiving at 5pm, i was told repeatedly by staff that apple watch 3 wasnt on sale at target. So I, placed an order online. I was to wait till next friday (11/28) to get the apple watch shipped to the store. I went back to target on Black Friday to ask about the watch availability on thanksgiving and two staff members tell me that they did in fact have the watch. Now I got an email confirmation that I will not get the watch from my online order. Target wasted my time. The staff didnt know the deals and Target itself couldnt get me the requested apple watch. They cancelled my order today because they coudlnt fulfill it. I am disappointed about the fact that I can't rely on Target for my shopping needs nor can I rely on the staff. I had waited a week for nothing and now I have to buy the watch at normal price. read more

I love Target ever since I was a kid. Would rather come here than Wal-Mart anytime. It can be a little disorganized compared to others I've been to (but it does beat the $#&! out of the one in Wheaton). I find the lines do move somewhat quickly as long as it's not the weekend. The new grocery section is a nice addition, and it's well stocked. Coming here after work is the way to go, I'm usually in and out pretty quickly if I know exactly what I want. Now if the parent company would stop supporting Right-wing nutters I'd be happier shopping here. read more

Amazing customer service! The other day I bought a large box of diapers (among other things), and left the diapers in the self checkout line by accident after paying. I drove home without realizing and noticed about 3 hours later. I no longer had the receipt, but I called the store asking if they were still where I had left them. My call was answered quickly and the woman on the other was very friendly and helpful. She asked a few different employees, located the diapers and left them in customer service with my name on it for me to pick up. She could have given me a hard time about not having the receipt but didn't and I really appreciate that! read more

This is a terrible Target. I usually really enjoy my trips to Target. However this morning's trip was a disaster. In full disclosure, I believe most issues in my review are construction/renovation related so call to check on the status before you go. The store is a mess - there is dust and debris everywhere. Due to the reorganization, items are very hard to find. For example not all bathroom items are on the same area, some in hardware, some in house ware, neither of which are close to each other. The clothing section has no order to it at all. I didn't encounter one person working there who was willing to help. The sound of the construction is awful and I wouldn't dare go near that food with how filthy the store is. The worst offense was that there was no.working.bathroom. You *literally* have to exit the building, walk to the end of the block, turn the corner where there is a trailer style port-a-potty. Completely unacceptable shopping experience. I left with half of my list and a full bladder to head over to Walmart, a store I swore I'd never go to. Another important note-this was at 9:00 am on a Saturday so I am not sure how it was already so filthy when it had only been open a short while. So disappointed. Hopefully they will get their act together soon. I'll take this review down if it improves post-construction. read more

Too many bad experiences here and just overall not the best. I'll mention the things that jump to mind immediately from the past few weeks. - looking for a specific diaper pail that I noticed was no longer on the shelf that day. I found someone who conveniently also had a handheld scanner on him. I had taken a picture of the price sticker and had the store item number. I told him this so he could just type it into his gun. Nope. He decided to walk to the space with me. When there, he basically looked at the empty space and said "we don't have any". I asked if he could look it up and see if there were some in the back. Again, he had the scanner. All he had to do was point and shoot at the barcode. Worst case, type in the number. Nope. He sent me to guest service. Guest service got a bit confused by not having anything to scan, but figured out they could just put the number in. Eventually they managed to check the system and found they had none left. Honestly, it would have taken all of 10 seconds for the first guy to answer my question if he'd known how to do his job. - a few times I've gotten very grumpy cashiers, but the time that made me say "I'm not coming here again" was when I had grabbed a few items (including one item I needed somewhat urgently) and came to check out. The person in front of me took forever, but that happens sometimes. I finally got to my turn, the cashier rang up my things, scanned my cartwheel barcode, and bagged my stuff. Go to insert my red card and it doesn't work. It's been acting up lately. Sometimes it takes a few tries. Sometimes it just doesn't work. So I ask if she can just enter my card number and do it that way. Apparently not. To be clear, less than a week earlier, another cashier at the same store had typed in my card number and I'd paid no problem. Then at another store two days before this, same thing. But this day? Nope. She said she didn't know how. Fine. She called someone over and asked. They immediately said "we can't do that. It's against policy". I mentioned that they HAD done this less than a week earlier and another store had as well. He repeated himself. Ok fine. Really annoying but fine. I grab my debit card. The machine doesn't read it at all. It's not rejected, it doesn't react at all. I try several times. I have no cash. I can't use another card this trip. I tell the cashier. She just looks at me. "Is there another way to run this? I don't have another way to pay". She just stares at me and kind of shrugs. I end up leaving my bagged stuff there and walking out. It was too late for me to go to another store. Nobody was any help. - mannequins wearing the wrong sized clothes. There's no need at all for a girl mannequin to be wearing a shirt that's so huge on it that the neck of the t-shirt is dangling off the shoulder. - granted this is the Starbucks inside, but they're still together. So. It's hit or miss with them. A few times I've gotten very friendly people, a few (too many) times I've gotten people who seem like they hate being there. Like today. An older woman with glasses took my order. Right from the start I almost didn't want to order because she looked so cross. But I ordered. Went to pay and my red card didn't work again (last few times it worked fine), so I pulled out my debit card. Same deal as the cashier before. Didn't read it at all. I tried a few times. A target employee walked up behind me and I felt bad I was delaying him on what was probably his break. I wait for the lady to come back and ask if there's another way to run the card since the machine wasn't registering it at all. She said no, took my card, jammed it into the chip slot, it didn't work again. She slid it down the side and it worked. She tossed my card down on the counter. I'm glad it worked but really? Why the hell did she just throw my card? I wasn't being difficult. She asks if I want my receipt and sets a drink down in front of me. I say I don't want my receipt and reach for the drink. "That's not yours" ...obviously I take my hand back but I'm confused. "Yours is down there" she points to the end of the counter. ...ok? So I go get it and leave. Apparently she'd made a drink for the employee behind me while I was trying to get my card to work and I wasn't aware because he had never actually said anything. My only positive is that I've never run into anyone unpleasant at the fitting room or in the clothing sections. I realize this review was massively long. But there it is. I'm going to stop coming here. This was the last chance. I will drive myself over to Gaithersburg. Much more pleasant people. Much more willing to *help* you. read more

I have been shopping at this Target for years and I have never had any problems while shopping. I prefer Target much over the WalMart right across the street because it is much cleaner or more organized, so it is worth spending the extra money there. The store is pretty clean and organized for the most part, but once in a while certain areas can be a little messy because some MoCo customers prefer to treat Target like their home. The staff is friendly for the most part and they were always willing to help me when I needed help. If they weren't able to help me, they at least tried to find someone that was able to. The cashiers in the front are also very friendly and helpful with ringing up your orders. Once in a while they can get carried away with talking to other employees, but the management is pretty good when it comes to controlling these issues. Overall, great Target that has never disappointed me once. read more

This review is based on two things. The first is that I frequent this Target and for how many people they have that visit this store, they are very efficient and the store is usually in good shape. Second, I went to this Target for Black Friday last thanksgiving. It was great. I have done some black friday shopping here and there, but this was an experience unlike any other. Okay, Target is a great brand and most of their stores are great. There are exceptions to this, including the Germantown Target. This Target is awful, do not expect the customer service or stocked shelves you are used too. The lines are always long and the cashiers either dont't speak English, are incompatant, or both. This is the worst Target I have ever shopped at. I've been at Target in Illinois (Chicago suburbs), Boston suburbs and Madison, WI. This one beats all them in poor service, understocked shelves (always!) and long lines. A few examples: at the pharmacy the average waiting time to drop a prescription is more than ten minutes(just to drop it!)...to wait for the prescription to be filled well over 30... The pharmacy shelves are mostly empty: no TeraFlu in January (isn't this the season for colds and flu??), no gauzes, no bandaids. Unfortunately I found the same dismal offer at the CVS pharmacy down the road, so my impression is that since this is a mixed-income neighborood there is no interest in supply the stores in a timely fashion ( especially if I compare with stores in Naperville, IL or Madison, WI). In the food department I happened to find several times items opened and used and left there (an open sparkling water bottle sat on the same shelf for over a week, while the others did not get replaced). Most of the non-target brands of food have disappeared over the months at very quick pace ( walkers cookies for example, which now I have to buy at much higher prices at Whole Foods). The produce and fruit is always old and battered. Even bananas are not fresh. All in All a very disappointing experience. read more

They have an ok set up. I just wish they would renovate it to make the place look like the Target in Frederick. Their set up makes it hard to find stuff like it took me 15 minutes to find paper plates which was across from the bread??
