I have been shopping at this target since they first opened. I remember at the grand opening I stood in line to have a soap opera actor sign a headshot photo! I love that over the years they have increased their size and offerings. There is a customer service person who has been there probably as long as the store has been open, but at least for the last 15 years. Anytime I go to customer service and she's there, she recognizes me right away and says "hey sugar how are you doing? She even asks me about my special needs son because she met him 15 years ago after he stole something and I made him take it back and apologize. She was incredible! I would love to work here but I would wind up spending my entire paycheck so it's not worth it. LOL read more

In my experience and opinion, products are Overpriced and the store has bad customer service. The staff member said that the self checkout was 10 items or less and forced me to go to the 1 checkout line with a really slow clerk. It was a day before a snow storm so leaving 1 person in 1 checkout line was ridiculous, thoughtless and extremely poor service. The ten item restriction on self checkout is new and there is no sign for it, making it seem like it is an arbitrary and harassing behavior by the clerk in charge. I often find they claim they have products like water bottles and popular gifts when they don't have it. When I asked why they falsely advertised having these products, they just blame it on the web developer and online sales. If they are not fulfilling the orders for the pickup clients, then they should remove the parking spaces for pickup clients. read more

So, if you want to be financially responsible & pay cash you can wait 20 minutes in the only checkout line open while other associates stand against the wall with their feet propped up!? Stopped in this target on a Saturday morning and for the first time in a while they didn't have carts and boxes blocking the dog food aisle. I appreciate that it was easy to access dog food this time around. Grabbed the items I came for and then went to check out. This is when it got really frustrating and disappointing - there were 2 registers open for 16-18 people waiting to check out. Self check out wasn't open and in recent months has been limited to 10 items, which is annoying. I opted for Walmart instead this past Saturday - it opens earlier than Target and had no waiting to check out. read more

I have visited this Target location on several occasions, and what I find often is that I don't find the things that I'm looking for. Now, with that being said, typically none of the things I'm looking for are "essentials" by any means, but I usually make trips to Target with one or a few specific items in mind. This past trip, I was looking for some Valentine's Day themed Anchor Hocking glassware (the cute little glass storage containers like Pyrex, but these ones have little hearts "drawn" on them). I couldn't find them anywhere. I did find some other stuff in that section that I was NOT looking for though (very Target coded). Also, I was looking for the new Poppi Cream Soda - saw NONE :( I alsoooo was looking for the Target exclusive Helimix monochromatic shaker bottle (nude)... NOPE! But they had the plain boring black and clear one. I wanted some Wilde chips (the weird dried chicken chips LOL), and I know I see them at the Rio Target all the time, but NOT HERE! I did find ONE BAG of the Fruit Riot grapes (my friend told me I had to try them, so I did), so that was a win. Overall, this Target is fine, I just find that more often than not, whatever I came in here for, I usually don't find :( read more

The staff in charge of drive up on Monday, December 22 were incredibly unhelpful and lazy. Do not order drive up pick up from the store. Multiple times my items have not been available and today I found out why. We ordered snow pants for my son who needed to go somewhere at noon and I ordered them at 10 AM. When my husband went to ask what was taking so long with the drive up order, the staff refused to even go look for the pants which were hanging on the rack. They waited two hours and then said that they were not available. Wasting our time. They refused to do their job and process the order. Unbelievable. I always found this area of Germantown weird. Like how do you have a Walmart sitting right across the street from here? Then have a cluster of stores that causes a cluster with traffic. I don't even remember what I came in here for, especially since I had already stopped nearby to grab some items. Wait, I do remember why I came here...the Walmart nearby had so many items on lockdown and stupid rules that made you have to pay for certain items in their departments. So I came over here where I could freely pick up and handle the items I wanted and check out at one location conveniently. So yeah, everything I couldn't find over across the street, I found here. I gladly waited in the lines to purchase my items that I was allowed to take around the store with me. read more

I normally don't review big-box stores like Target, but I was really impressed by the offerings of this store - particularly, I'd like to know when did Target start selling Levi merchandise?! I was pleasantly surprised. Take note that you will still pay the typical Levi's price, but I welcome Levi's in Target. The selection is rather small, and they don't have all of the different types of Levi jeans/shorts. I like Levi's 710, and it wasn't offered at this Target. Levi's aside, this Target in general is well maintained, and feels a bit more stylish than other Targets. I would visit again. read more

Ugh what has happened to this place?! Can't find items - they're either out of stock (a lot of times) or they're totally disorganized on various areas of the shelf and not where they should be. I went to the pharmacy recently and the pharmacists and cashiers didn't know the answer to what I would regard as a simple question of how medications are different from one another (literally as simple as reading the packaging for the active ingredient). The staff member at self checkout was helpful and friendly enough. Parking has been okay, just as it's been over the years. read more

This Target has me like meh, since moving into this area I noticed that its nothing like my PG county Targets. It has recently went through a desperately needed make over. Its appealing to the eye. Since the Pandemic, the store has gotten very lazy in keeping items in stock. I go during off peak times or late at night. To find help, is like finding a diamond in the rough.. If you do get help, some act as if you're asking for their arm or leg. Im not a fan of self check out, not now or ever. I have zero patience, thanks to Giant self check outs. It's not cleand or sanitized properly. This week I went there twice, and no one was wiping down the registers. The machines constantly faults and you have to wait for the one manager to get to you. Which tells me Target is too cheap to staff more Cashiers. There's always one register open, which causes long wait times. The store is clean and somewhat organized. They do off curbside delivery, which is a blessing because you get what you need, instead of going in the store and coming out with 20 plus more items. Another thing is they are SLOW to mark things down after holidays. Yesterday was Halloween and today the candy was like buy one get one 25% off??!! Are you kidding me??? This store regularly closes its self-checkout and then only opens two staffed checkout lanes. This results in customers waiting 15-20 minutes to checkout during normal business hours with a typical number of customers in the store. Sometimes if it gets busy the wait time can be 30+ minutes. There seems to be no reason for this, they just choose not to open the self-checkout. I have personally walked out on several occasions because the lines were so long and gone directly across the street to Wal-Mart. read more

Not the best Target out there. The stocks are a mess and some are mislabeled. The offerings appears to be a bit less than neighboring locations, and the aisles appear to be narrower - or this place is just naturally overcrowded. The parking lot is plentiful. I have never seen it full. The best feature about this place is that it is located with other big box stores so one can really run most of their errands in this location. Walmart, Home Depot, Big Lots, etc. I sometimes come here to wander around but ever since COVID hit, not too many strolls. Their COVID preparation is lacking by a lot. Masks are required, no guards or less sanitizing wipes for people coming in. No one seems to care about social distancing as everyone is just crowded together. It begs the question on whether or not they care. Again, this place is only here for convenience and nothing more. if you need to pick up something or needs some pharmaceutical preparations (band aids, cough medicine, etc.), it helps to be near here. This Target is shameful and disgusting. They are selling OPENED and USED baby bottles and baby supplies in a PANDEMIC! This is disgusting and health hazard. Beautiful and well-organized store! I think they've finished up the last touches of the renovation process but it doesn't even look like the Target I remembered. I came in to do a return and upon entering my eyes my glistened like I stepped into Disney World and saw Mickey for the first time. It could be confusing if you're use to the old set up but it wasn't difficult to figure out and find what you're looking for. A big shoutout to Pamela that worked the women's fitting room, that lady was the real MVP! She was very pleasant and helpful. Give her a raise because she's truly an asset to this store. The fitting room got fancy with their chair and side table with an extra charging station. I was loving every bit of this newly renovated Target. Of course as always I walked out with items I didn't need but that's Target for you! read more

It's strange to admit it but this is one of The Best Targets I've ever been to. I mean, although they are currently under construction, the stuff they have here... I'm simply blown away amazed! First of all, the moment we walked in their $1/$3/$5 section is organized neatly and according to category/season. Then across the aisle, you will notice their Casper display. I did not know they sell Casper at Target. Another surprising gem that I discovered was the Rustic Wood series of classic board games, such as: Scrabble, Monopoly, Connect Four, Boggle, Risk, Jenga, Candy Land, Yatzee, and Operation. These would be perfect for game lovers AND it totally doubles really will as a decorative piece in the home. So many great finds that I haven't yet seen at my local Target. I think we will be making special Target runs here when we visit the in-laws. I will warn you, though, this is a dangerous place if you lack self control. We literally walked back to the checkout 2 more times because we walked past the $1/$3/$5 section and I kept finding some cute thing I needed to get. It's pretty crazy. There's a Pizza Hut Express and Starbucks inside. Didn't catch the name of our barista at the Starbucks but she was phenomenal. Super friendly and down to earth. While Germantown is a whiles away from where I normally stay (West MoCo towards PG county) I can't help but live the convenience of being close to major retailers, all of which I go to. Aldi, Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Giant... it's all there *sighs of relief* nothing is as clustered together closer to home. Maybe it's been a bit of time since I've come to visit this side of MoCo because this Target is So Nice! It's clean, spacious, organized, and all the carts were present (as of 4pm). The staff are friendly and for the most part will leave you be to enjoy the air conditioned abyss. I love love love the new layout, well done new investors I came in for a baby registry gift bag, a return, and purchases of more baby items and diapers. Not many stores have preemie and newborn super packs. Also, the prices here are slightly lower, by nearly a dollar or three. Self checkout was fast, fun, friendly and all the self registers actually work! So convenient. read more

We have used Target Germantown Drive-Up for orders numerous times. The store appears to be incapable of accurately tracking the store's inventory. Once an order has been placed, they sometimes send notices of unavailability of products prior to pick-up, other times you discover the unavailability of products when you arrive for pick-up. Their system or lack there of is terrible! Today we arrived, received our order and found that three items had no resemblance to what we ordered. When this was pointed out, the young man who delivered our order, washed his hands of the problem and stated that we must go inside to customer service to have the error corrected. While we sat in our car assessing the pitiful situation, a different Target employee came by and tried to help. When we recounted the problem to her she told us that the employees are told to include substitutions when a product is not available. This is not an acceptable answer. Either Target has the product that was ordered and paid for or does not. This was a terrible and time consuming experience. I will think twice before I attempt to use this problematic service. read more

I was in the Germantown location at target and this lady was just dog in this manager DYMOND and she is the sweetest person that could ever be she's been on the phone for I don't know how long and the manager was waiting on me DYMOND and she was as nice and polite as she could be and the lady that was dogging her on the phone about something , She's complaining to another target or something like that but I tell you what that lady needed to move because she did not need to be dogging this manager, All I have to say is DYMOND was very useful to me and very good customer service and I have nothing bad to say except for the lady that was on the phone talking trash about her I didn't appreciate. Pros: Starbucks, great selection for kids and toiletries, cleaning products, seasonal aisles Cons: long lines, food options, maintaining stock of popular items I actually like this Target and visit frequently for hair products (beauty supply stores are at a minimum in Germantown) and toiletries but I only visit when I have time to spare. Lines can get pretty intense and parking doesn't come cheap. The customer service is decent and the store is clean. Look out for the sales. Happy shopping! read more

OOOOH this is my favoritest Target EVER. I'm not really from the area, so I 'm not extra picky when it comes to Target locations. I am only comparing this Target to the other locations in Laurel and Silver Spring which are like the step children of this Target. There are rows and rows of beautiful limited edition items. The staff is always friendly, and I have never encountered a problem. I usually shop here in the early afternoon or mornings on weekdays, so this might be the reason for my sunny disposition. The only downside is that because they have so many seasonal and limited addition beauties, I spend WAY too much money. But how is that different from any other Target I shop at?! read more

Not the best Target I've been to, but not the worst. The service varies... I've encountered some really wonderful and exceedingly helpful staff.. and I've also encountered some people who are have no interest in customer service at all. Usually, when I come here I can find what I need, and I'm in and out fairly quickly. This store came through in the clutch a few days ago when I needed a shovel for Blizzard 2016. After a frustrating experience with staff at the nearby Home Depot, I was about to give up and go home. I knew I wouldn't be able to find a shovel later in the week, so I decided to try Target as a last resort before I gave up. I asked the first associate I saw if they had shovels. Not only did they have them, but they had plenty of them, the associate know exactly where they were and they were cheaper than the shovels that Home Depot was selling! YES!! My two main complaints about this store are that 1.) I have had too many experiences with associates that just flat out did not know where stuff is and will tell you some random (incorrect) location just to get you out of their faces and 2.) they do not carry the Cover Girl Queen Collection of cosmetics. read more

This review is solely on Target's lack of responsibility with regard to pedestrians at the Germantown Store. I have had conversations with management regarding cars ignoring the stop signs (some cars not stopping for pedestrians at all) and the need for speed bumps.....clearly this is not important. Target: - You only have stop signs on one side of the road. - You hide your portable stop signs near the carts (what's the point of having them?) - Check your camera footage to see how many cars don't care about your customers.....you can do better. - You need to install speed bumps I assume this review will go un-noticed by those within Target who are bold enough to make significant changes. read more

Twice now I have gone and had an issue. It's IMPOSSIBLE TO GET ANYONE ON THE PHONE! I have been going to target frequently these days. Several weeks ago I bought a bunch of clothes. One item for my daughter had the security tag on it. The lady at self checkout took all my items with security tags to remove them, while I continued my order. She insisted to ring them before removing the tags, well she forgot one. So I get home and my daughters shirt isn't in the bag. I paid for it. She rang it in and never brought it back. I tried calling so many times only to let the phone ring and get disconnected. My daughter was in tears as that was the very last shirt. Today I go, bring my two kids, they pick out toys etc. upon getting home I realize the $50 toy car my daughter picked out is actually missing a hood. The car had so much tape on it I didn't even realize it. I spent the last 30 mins calling. No one answers. You get disconnected eventually. Doesn't matter what department you try because I have tried them all.. no one answers. What's the point in shopping at a place that has impossible and horrible customer service. read more

I like this target but I don't like the bathroom always being dirty. Stuff is ready to find but the check out staff can be a bit abrasive.
