The Logan Blvd. Target is my "default" Target due to its convenient location. But I have found myself going out of my way more and more to come to this Target because: 1. Even on a Sat./Sun. it's NEVER a freakin' zoo like the one on Logan 2. Unlike the one on Logan it never seems "picked-over" - I've actually been able to find newly-offered items that I'd so far only seen on the Target website. 3. It's clean and neatly organized, unlike the Logan Target which always looks like a tornado hit it. 4. The staff here is actually friendly and *gasp!* helpful! The only time I ever had a hard time finding a staff member to help me find something was early on a weekday morning when they were having their employee meeting. But when I did find one, I found ALL of them...and one broke himself away to walk me to what I was looking for. The only thing I don't like about this Target is that it's divided into 2 floors making it hard for someone not familiar with the layout (like myself) to find stuff. read more

How did I go from mocking Target to shopping at Target? Old age or poverty? A combination of the two? In any case, this is my favorite Target in the city. I'm not counting that massive Greatland up on Howard Street, because as far as I'm concerned, that's Evanston. And I haven't been to the store on Peterson, even though that's closer to my house. So there may be competition. But this store is big and clean and fairly well laid out. There are two levels, with cashiers on both levels, which is a freakin' godsend. They have those clever escalators for your cart, which is great, except for those times when you are behind someone who isn't exactly clear on the concept. Hey folks, it's the 21st century, do people really not understand escalators? This store is so much more well-maintained and humane than the one on Elston, I cannot begin to tell you. That store is nothing but screaming children 24 hours a day. This one still bugs me, but that's due more to my hatred of shopping than the store itself. As expected, the staff are basically clueless, but they're a lot friendlier. I even had one offer to call me a cab when I had obviously overshopped. That someone even noticed was a shock. read more

I am so in love with Target. In the short time I've been in Chicago I have been to Target about every other day. The last three weekends have been spent buying up the entire store. I apologize if you didn't find what you were looking for. I probably bought it. Especially if it was some sort of cleaning supply. I love shopping for cleaning supplies I will never use. Every time I go, I see something I should've bought the last time, so of course I have to get it this time. And the grocery section! Between Target and Belmont Produce I will never go hungry again. My preferred target location even though it doesn't carry everything or has lower stock. I really appreciate the attitude of all of the employees I interacted with Today! It was a busy one. Thanks to the people in electronics that helped me make an informed decision. To the ones working the cold food restock-very helpful. The cashier. And even the customer/guest services! I was annoying Today and had to exchange a product and having worked retail in the past it was nice to not deal with a disgruntled employee. The store is always clean and doesn't have funky smells. Only con is the low stock but that could be out of their hands if third party vendors are out of stock as well idk. Major pro for me is the spacing on the floors. Target is Target. They're all about the same. I like the chain. I like the brands. I find the prices reasonable. I think their employees are usually well above what you find at the average retailer. How does this 3 star info translate to a 5 star review you ask? The 1st floor bathroom is fantastic!!! I live a couple blocks away and and have been walking to this particular Target at least twice a month for the last several years. In those hundred plus visits I've occasionally had to... play a road game if you will. Now I know we all prefer the home field advantage. Unfortunately life in the big leagues doesn't care about our preferences. Playing on the road can be awkward at best but this Target's stadium makes it almost like home. The bathroom is spacious, immaculate and appointed with the sturdiest of fixtures. There is a security guard stationed at the store's front entrance just a few yards away. This assures no bathroom shenanigans of any type- no wide stances, no adolescent pranksters, no messy vandalism. Each guest can be assured that they are able to execute their game plan unmolested. This should be enough. I know. But there's more. Target appears to have spared no expense and has invested in the latest hand drying technology. They have a small jet engine mounted to the wall. Usually cringe when I see an air dryer rather than paper towels after a well fought game. I've come to know the last step in using one of these ineffective machines is always "wipe hands on pants". Though I prefer the Elston location over this one, I still like it a lot. Target is Target, so the prices are great, the store's big, and all that jazz. However, this particular location seems to be CRAWLING with kids. I'm almost afraid to push a cart through the store because there's a high chance I'll run over a screaming brat. Oh... hey, that doesn't sound like a bad idea... But I digress. I went there during the peak of Christmas season a couple of years ago, and though the store was REALLY crowded, they still managed to have enough cashiers to keep the foot traffic at the registers light. I was really impressed. My boyfriend went there a few days ago, and he said that his cart jammed the cart escalator because the contents were too big. After unsuccessfully trying to get an employee for 5 minutes (and getting annoyed stares from fellow customers whose carts were in the escalator as well), he took all his stuff out of the cart and left with a red face. read more

This Target never has anything in stock. This is good for business, but bad for the customer. It's like pulling teeth to get anyone to help you, unless you visit the customer service desk, and they are the only employees who seem to know anything. I work with someone who literally lives within walking distance of this store. I have also been forced to explore (construction) the neighborhood across the street, noticing lots of families, and what looks like an elementary school. I can only conclude that this is why Target never has anything in stock. If I lived next door to a Target, with such affordable prices, I'd be hard pressed to get into my car and drive somewhere else. Even if it was for a piece of clothing from a trendier store. Be careful walking out to the parking lot. This Target location needs to put up stop signs in front of the entrance. I almost got hit by a car I expected to stop for me, being that I was the pedestrian in the crosswalk. I raised up my hands and shoulders as if to say, "excuse me?" The guy in the car just made the same gesture back, after speeding up once he saw that I was going to attempt to cross the street in front of the store. Seriously, Corporate, put up stop signs. That guy almost ran me over. He was driving much too fast before he even went faster once he saw me. If you live in Chicago, you have a small window of opportunity to run errands. That window is between 10am to 2pm. After that, forget it. You might as well be sitting in rush-hour traffic on your day off. Target is a great happy-medium store for just about anything you need. Hot damn! I think the people at this Target might be the most helpful humans on earth. I had a team of four (4) staff members assisting me, from locating items, checking stock, and getting down the high-up things my little T-Rex arms couldn't reach to recommending coupon aps for my phone and helping load my car. Everybody was so friendly, too! On top of that, I had no trouble finding parking (on a Saturday!) and with just one exception, everything I wanted was in stock. I should add that the exception was for an expensive item on sale for nearly 1/3 off the original price, and they looked up what other stores still had them for me. The selection here is much larger than I'm used to from Target, in almost every department. It looked like the maternity apparel in particular was much more extensive than I've seen elsewhere, as were housewares and DVDs. Also of note: my daughter thinks the pass- through elevators are super fun! read more

To be honest, I was pretty disgusted when I heard of this Target about to open barely two miles from the Elston location. How much more in love could Chicago get with giant chains? Right? Well, it turns out that this location is quite a nice alternative to the old 'Targhetto'. Believe it or not, there was a time when Logan Square wasn't a Lincoln Park- or Wickertown-in-training, and getting shanked by a grandma stocking up on Windex wasn't inconceivable. Come to think of it, these days the possibility of getting Bugabooed by a mom questing for Mrs Meyer's is just as real. But I digress. My point is that the Target at Addison is typically orderly and quiet. Shopping there is quite pleasurable. So I have to back-pedal on my earlier reservations and have some hot sauce with my crow. But the REAL reason I decided to add my 2 cents is that the Target team here went a little above and beyond the call of duty tonight. Apparently, a tornado warning was called for Logan Square around 800p (climate change, anyone?) and the management promptly issued an announcement that shoppers should get away from the glass entrance and proceed to the back of the store. They actually wrangled the crowd and secured the location within minutes. Maybe it was a bit of an overreaction, but I thought it was sort of cool that they weren't complacent. Actually, when I finally got out and saw the amount of debris strewn around, they may have prevented a few injuries. Plus, the whole drama was slightly thrilling. So, Target at Addison, I promise to buy all my toilet paper, Zest soap and V05 shampoo exclusively from you! OK, probably a bit more than that. read more

Nothing like a late night Target box wine run on a busy Sunday night. Instead of dealing with the Elston store madness, I wanted to go here. At 8:30p.m., the store was busy enough and easy to navigate for our needs: box wine, milk, eggs, and toliet paper. With those items, we're a regular MacGyver. Actually, we're expecting week long guests, throwing a get together, and have no toliet paper. The store's nicely laid out for finding our needs quickly. I managed to snag some more organizational stuff as well on our way in. Also, the carts are kickass. They're quiet and seem Michael Graves inspired with their chunky, sleek design. Very cool. When we located the box wine, my husband became entranced with the motion sensor lights on the cold food cases in the new grocery section. We're an easily amused couple. Otherwise, we found what we needed quickly and got ourselves back to marathon cleaning and organizing to host guests and a party this week. I'm happy to return to this Target again because it's so much easier to manage than the Elston Target where a loyal, wandering shopper like myself own's blood pressure rises in there. I really abhor, despise, hate, (and many more negative verbs) this Target. Half because the service is horrendous, and half because I can't help but find myself here on a regular basis because it's so damn close and I can't fight the fact that it's TARGET. And they have everything, whether I like it or not. I can never, I repeat, neeevverrrr get out of this place without having to wait in a line for over 15 minutes. Whether I go in at 11 am or 10 pm, there is ALWAYS a line. It seriously never fails. And something always goes wrong with a cash register, someone always needs a price check, someone always wants to pay in pennies and nickels, etc. etc. etc. Which would be fine in most cases, if there were more registers open, thus giving customers more options and reducing the wait. But there never are. Please. Please. Pleeeeease hire some more employees and get your customers in and out of here in a timely manner. Also, a note for the cashiers - if you have a line of more than three people, do not ask about each customer's life story and then proceed to tell them yours. When I run in for tampons, I usually want to get that ish and get the eff out! I've asked for the location of items on many occasions, only to be pointed in the wrong direction, and then just having to find it for myself. So annoying, especially since this place is 2 floors. Once upon a time.... I bought a pair of computer speakers from Target that we $29.99. After I went home to install my computer speakers (it had a sub so I could finally hear some bass in my music), I installed the GE speakers (GE makes speakers?) and discovered that the speakers were not working! Having installed simple speaker systems before, I then kept troubleshooting over and over again despite the manual having scant information and nothing beyond simple instructions on how to install / troubleshoot. Growing frustrated I figured they were incompatible with my computer so I dragged it to another computer and found out that they didn't work either! Getting seriously angry, I looked at the box and saw there was a button that fell into the box and it was all broke ass! Getting infuriated, I was disgusted I had purchased broken-ass technology and didn't think I could possibly return it since I ripped the box! A friend heard of my misfortune and told me to bring the box back to Target since you can return the stuff back no matter what. I didn't believe her so I brought more money to buy a new set of speakers in case my friend was wrong and did a little shopping on the side. Much to my surprise it was quicker to exchange my broke-ass set of speakers than actually to go shopping!!! I was so happy to get a brand new set of speakers that actually worked. I have not been to any other Target in the city so I cant compare it to others, but IMO this Target was kinda gross. Teeming with kids (have I mentioned I hate kids?) and kinda dirty. I was mostly looking for housewares, etc. and a lot of the isles were pretty picked over or hadnt been re-stocked in a while. I also went near closing so this could be part of the problem. OK my most recent reason to love this particular Target is that M-Sat they are open until 11pm and Sundays until 10pm. Yay! I am always bummed by early closings on Sunday, when I have time, energy, cash and everything. 10pm on Sunday is good enough for me. ALSO since they are open relatively late I had time to go there 2x's tonight buying doormats for our new apartment's front door, back door, and the house's front door. I checked online w/a few places first and found Target's prices reasonable (compared to BBB but hey maybe they are never reasonable?). Going in person I also found one super cute style which was not online, plus I got to measure the thickness w/a tape measure I brought to make sure they are good for our low-clearance doors. They have a variety of styles and sizes and thicknesses, and most door mats there are at or under $20 so I was very pleased, and inspired. Energy tip: Physically enhancing your front door and/or back door is a relatively simple way to alter the energy of your whole home. read more

As big department stores go, a few things have been worked out nicely for customers here: the mall that it's in has ground-level, covered parking and a 2nd story parking structure as well. Using either gets you into the store by one of two entrances. Since the store is two-levels, the shopping cart-accommodating escalators are a modern wonder of convenience! The customer service stop for this store is top notch! Returns and exchanges have never been a problem at Target stores, but the pleasant folks that work it out for you here are treasures! If you are shopping one of their sales or using discounts or coupons, be sure to use the bar code scanners in most aisles to double check that price before you get in line and possibly later get disappointed that their inventory coding might not match the shelf tagging. This happened to me recently and that's my best advice for all Target store "live" shopping. read more

The store is spacious and clean. The merchandise is well stocked. I never have a problem finding what I need. The staff is nice. 1st things 1st. The parking in this strip mall is a mo'fo'. So, I usually automatically head to the parking garage in the back. It's free. I'd never really liked this location because its dirtier and less-stocked than others. Add to this the swarms of children running around screaming, while their parents either ignore them or smile because their little angels are just so darn cute. This location has cart escalators which are cool, however it is still a Target store. The layout of the store is a little random...but I guess that's what happens when you have two floors to work with. I do like their pharmacy. I've never had a problem with them and their prices for many generic drugs are only $4 which is less than my co-pay. The store does have many cashiers on duty which can make getting out fast. One thing I do have to fault Target for is the fact that I usually buy more than I really needed. read more

My first time at this target was slightly confusing as the parking is a garage situation and the entrance is technically on the second floor of the building. Other than that, I thought this Target has a great selection of items in all departments! I always forget that I have to pay for bags in Chicago so that's my justification to not buy a bunch of stuff if I don't bring bags! Lol!! Their clearance sections were messy but I figured that's with their really big clearance sale going on at the time. Back when I was poor, I used to walk to this Target and wander around during the summers, because it was my only source of air conditioning. The shammme. I don't come to this target too often now just because it's pretty far from me, but it's a solid Target. It doesn't have the "EVERYONE'S ABOUT TO GO APESHIT" aura of the Uptown one. It's clean. Tried to exchange pants which I purchased at a different target, which were mislabeled, for the correct size. Guest returns and a manager couldn't help me, stating that since other target made mistake, other target needs to correct. They also sassed me for not having the receipt, even though they have a sign that says they can easily pull receipt from credit card. If that's really a corporate policy, puts customer last. Target should change the policy for customer convenience. read more

This is the messiest, most unorganized Target location I have ever been to. Even though it is less than a mile from my house, I only go there unless I need something immediately. The automatic front door is always out of order, one of the escalators is always out of order, the shelves are never fully stocked. The fitting rooms today were a disaster, and there was no attendant. I could have easily stolen each item I tried on. There are always carts scattered along the sidewalk. The only plus is that this is one of the few stores in the city with self-checkout; which I good because they only ever have 2-3 lanes open at a time. The parking lot is always a nightmare. I can sometimes find a decent spot on the side but then have to maneuver around all the carts on the sidewalk. read more

I'm already a fan of Target but one that has two levels...even better. For some reason, I just feel like they have more even if it's not true. They have large amounts of clearance/sale stuff at this location which is great since every store puts certain items on clearance at different times. Parking was fairly simple but it was pretty packed...it's sunday so no surprise there. One sort of negative...I think the little snack shop should be on the first level so you can grab something to go on your way out if you like. read more

This is the closest Target to me, so it's thew one I frequent most, but it is certainly not my favorite, or the best target I've ever been to. For it being two floors, there's something lacking with the stocked products, and most of the time (especially in the linens and towels area) it feels more like a flea market or a thrift store than a Target. There is a nice big Ladies clothing section, and the discount book section is decent, same with dvds and stuff. I don't think it was a smart idea to add all the food, but what can you do. At least if I need to re-up on the Target brand "Fudge Brownie" coffee it's right down the street. Also there is something to be said about the parking, but I can chalk that up to not being Target's fault. read more

While shopping at the Target on Elston, I ran across an ottoman that would look great in my bedroom. They only had one, but suggested calling the Addison location who had it. Called the Addison location and spoke with Jose who assured me they had it in stock and he would set it aside for pickup. Long story short, he never set it aside. They did not have it and his lack of follow through caused his team members Gina, Darrell (sp?) and others to have to go through a fruitless, wild goose chase. I appreciate Gina and Darrell's efforts and pleasant demeanor immensely. I left the store without my ottoman and will now have to search online. Came in today to pick up shoes for my son's. The shoe department was a crime scene. The messiest most unorganized store I've ever been to and I've been inside of a Walmart during tax return season(on accident) so apparently the people that shop there don't know how to manage their children or if this is adults doing it. Learn how to clean up after yourself. And as far as target as a corporation stop being so cheap and hire enough employees to clean up the store at night and fire the employees that can't do their job. Also the second floor never has any cashier's I don't work at target if I'm spending over $100 every time I go there with more than a handful of items I should have the option of being rung out by a human being. read more

When I can't make it to the Peterson Target, I'm fine going to this one, as it's my second favorite Target in the city. It's not a zoo like the one on Elston/Logan, and not disorganized like some of their other locations, such as the Harlem-Irving Plaza location. Selection of food here is decent, and merchandise isn't as picked over here as much as at some of their other locations. I like how you have a choice of parking in the upstairs garage, or parking downstairs. In addition, I like the convenience of this one being next to a Entenmann's Bakery Outlet, a GameStop, and the diner Dapper's East. And you've also seen me do the rare feat of reviewing 2 Target locations in one day! read more

Nice two story Tar-zhay and I liked that they had a good selection of food items in the market area. Like better than convinience store selection - I was able to get tuna for my cat while picking up some rugs. The parking can be a bit heinous if you go at the wrong time, but overall the Target is spacious and they have a good selection of stuff, even though they coulda had a FAN when I went! My apartment is hotter 'n hell! I do wish the first floor was organized a little bit better though. read more
