This Target is the one that is farther away for me but it is a newer store and nicer. I stop here when I'm on this side of town. I usually only shop target for my dog chew sticks, we call them dogquitos because they look like little Taquitos for dogs. And our dogs cannot go a day without them. They are only available here because I think it's a brand that's a Target specific brand. So hopefully they'll never discontinue these or my little guys will drive us nuts. I also will buy my paper towels and toilet paper here as I'm a little OCD when it comes to my brand. I only use a certain one and they usually have them at a decent price. I also can't help perusing the clothing department because they do have really cute clothes and prices are really great, especially if you check out the clearance rack. The grocery department is not too bad. It's a little limited but really has everything you would need for the basics. I did need some cilantro and they only had some in a package with roots for $2.49. And it's usually .59 no roots at the regular store. So like I said just the basics. Can goods, dairy, meat and some limited produce. We did take a look at the Xbox 360 games and for a pre-owned game they wanted $17.99 when you can go down the street and get it at Game Stop go $9.99. Didn't know Target sold pre-owned items. Store is always clean, aisles never blocked with items and it's well stocked. Although it was like the rest of the retailers at Christmas they were a little picked over. So if you like Target this is one of the nicer Targets in town. read more

Target is one of my favorite stores. I absolutely love their clearance racks!! They have really nice things and I love the price reductions that are very frequent. This target is pretty convenient for me as I just work down the street from this place. Staff is always friendly and this store is always clean. Target has everything you need; however it may be a little bit pricier w some of their items. I love that there's conveniently a Starbucks in this store and their food items aren't bad either. This is by far my favorite Target to go to in Bakersfield. Clean Friendly staff Items are wider I feel it's a flagship store with more options order pickup is super fast and efficient I really have so much fun shopping at this store. When I first came in I headed to the electric wheelchair located at the entrance they had 2 available and they were fully charged and clean. I have had my experience with some and not all are created equally. So I would definitely recommend those they are the LV of electric wheelchairs. Thank you West Target!! read more

Love Target, I'd much rather spend a little more for a cleaner facility, nicer staff, better locations. The inly thing I hate is I walk in to buy 4 things and spend about $30 and walk out with 15 things, not the 4 I came for and spending about $200! This place is cursed! Things I like about Target: A lot of selection re pet food and pet toys (frisbees for a $1 if you have a chewer-dog) Decent selection of groceries, even healthy choices. Fresh. Employees are great, cashiers very friendly Lots of lot parking Great selection of magazines at the front As far as Bakersfield is concerned, this is an A-OK place to choose cheaper but durable work-out wear (they carry Champion brand) Clearance sections are well marked Cannot complain about the toiletry/make up area. They seem to carry almost everything and at a better price than many competitors. Paper products, yep, vitamins, yep. They sell my jalapeno string cheese sticks that I cannot find anywhere else. (please leave me some!) It is the ONLY place in town where I can find my habanero Tobasco sauce It is fairly clean I do not have a lot of negatives that come to mind - it is Target though and we go out of necessity for certain things, not out of sheer excitement. It is close to home for us and is surrounded by several great stores and restaurants. I feel management and employees do a great job overall. read more

Online order pick-up = awesomeness. I just recently discovered that you are able to order items via target.com and have them ready for pick up in store within a couple of hours. Talk about convenience! No added charge for this service is a plus also. Being able to utilize that service helps avoid long lines and having to run around the whole store looking for certain items. Also a good way to keep your budget in check and not deviate from your shopping list like I'm known to do. This Target is usually pretty busy but the staff are super helpful and friendly. Most recently I've had to make multiple trips to exchange baby items and it was simple and easy. My wife and I created a registry for our daughters baby shower and it was painless and simple. Grab a scanner and scan, scan, scan! From time to time there out of stock on an item or two but that's to be expected from a store that gets so busy. For those coffee drinking folks like myself on Yelp, There's a Starbucks located in the front entrance. Overall this is my favorite Target to visit in Bakersfield. Even if it is for only a few minutes to visit the customer service counter to pick up my online order. read more

This Target is like most, always fairly clean, nice friendly employees, has a Starbucks and food court area, carries groceries, and has a pharmacy. I have noticed that they recently added a staff member in the cosmetics area during certain hours and they have a cell phone representative available in the electronics department. I recently have seen them changing around the infant/toddler area and I believe they plan on making the registry area more interactive and user friendly. All these are helping them gear more towards a nicer department store in my opinion. I like the location as it sits in a great area that is growing yet still has plenty of parking, shopping carts, and open check outs. One of the nicest Targets in town. I will add that the Starbucks inside now honors everything that a regular Starbucks location does for rewards and such. read more

However, I can easily do all my shopping online and I will if they continue allowing groups with political agendas to set up tables practically blocking the doors. This is your standard target, but my favorite one in town. It is clean and spacious with helpful and friendly staff. Calling the electronics department, you will be on hold for 5 mins or so before getting to somebody. Quick tip: remember target price checks with amazon and many other competitors, just bring your checkout over to the customer service desk, and they will square you away. read more

We visit Target several times a month, but will not be going to Target ever again after an incident that occurred, involving my wife last Friday. (6/4/21) My wife went to this store to pick up a few items and after checking out she left one of the items (a $30 dollar blender) in the store by mistake. When she discovered her error she returned to the store and tried to recover the item. She was directed to store security by one of the stores employees and when she explained the situation to security; she was called a liar and a thief by the Target security person. My wife (a 60 year old grandmother) has never stole anything in her life and was deeply offended by this Target employee. Our only recourse at this point is to post a bad review and to take our business elsewhere in the future. read more

This Target's electronic's department leaves all of their competitors in the dirt. They offered us assistance after we had been in the area for only about 20 seconds. They have the tools on hand that they need to answer simple questions like, "Do you have any more of these on hand?" I would go to this department again. read more

I remember when this Target was built a couple of years ago. Everybody was excited about the new huge Target that was coming to town with a full grocery department and - gasp - a STARBUCKS inside. Yes, this was the first of the Targets in town to have a Starbucks inside. I know this because one of the workers destined to be assigned to said Target (a friend of mine) had to go out of town to see another one like it and train. We were sooo excited that we were going to be able to shop at Target with a venti latte in our hand and life was sweet. Now all of the Target stores in town have a Starbucks and we don't think twice about how convenient it is, instead we grumble that they don't honor our loyalty cards and give us points towards free drinks. I guess the 'new car smell' has worn off. It's kind of like how excited we all were waiting for the iPhone 5S to come out because it was going to be the most amazing thing ever and now it's just a convenient way to make phone call and text messages. But, hey, there is still a Pizza Hut Express location in their food court up front and that counts for SOMETHING, doesn't it? This Target is conveniently located just off the Riverwalk Park, has plenty of parking and has plenty of good stuff for sale cheap. Go check in out. read more

Big and clean store. Lot less crowded than the Walmarts. Prices tend to be a bit higher than their competitors, but some products are lower priced too. Really not much to add about this Target location that has not been written already. I agree that it is the nicest Target in Bakersfield. Actually, it is the nicest Target I've visited outside Bakersfield as well. Clean store, wide selection, fair prices, good service. Only complaint is that they are not open 24 hours. Nice Target. Just like every other Target I've ever been in, same stuff, same layout, same everything. But this time they had tights 50% off! I wear tights EVERY DAY, that's my standard uniform. I think I own one pair of dress pants and I wore them once, and decided that dresses with tights are the way to go. So I got 70 dollars of tights, saving myself an additional 70 dollars. I have so many tights I could wear a different pair every day for a month. And still have more. Yay tights at Target! read more

I hate writing reviews for places like Target... I mean, you know what the hell is going to happen when you walk into Target. Its not like theres a huge range of experiences at an establishment like this. But, I feel I must, because this was the first time I went into this particular Target location, as it was built after I had moved from Bakersfield, so its kind of a big deal to people in town. Its a pretty large Target, and definitely the nicest in town, by FAR. Not crammed full of scums, and easily to get around. They have the staple Target Starbucks, a decent pharmacy, and an actual grocery section. Now, I wouldn't plan on doing exclusive grocery shopping here, because the "fresh" section is slightly lacking, but this isn't Albertsons... they're doing enough by even including it. One slight problem I have with this Target is the lack of product in the accessories department.. it seems a bit dry. Also, the Maternity section blows, as it does in most, if not ALL stores not actually devoted to the cause. However, the checkout almost makes up for it for me. Tons of cashiers, so I actually didn't have to spend the usual 10+ minutes in line. Bravo for that... I'm insanely impatient. Solid Target experience!! read more

This use to be my go to Target, not anymore, it has been dirty, the aisles are full of things for them to stock but nobody is ever stocking them empty slots of things that I need to purchase( months empty), no one to help me, and one checkout person in the mornings with ten people ready to check out.( with a floor manger just talking to their friends. They say "Now with Fresh Grocery" but it's a very small selection. so, don't go here thinking you're gonna do all your grocery shopping.
