I don't visit this Office Depot often because it's on the other side of town from me, but I believe it's pretty similar to the other ones in town. You won't find me buying tons of office or school supplies here unless there's some sort of sale or unless I buy in bulk because it's cheaper in bulk versus buying one thing off the shelf. Office Depot is a quality specialty office store and so the prices are always higher than the other stores, but I'm almost certain you can find just about the same items at Walmart, so if you want a better deal then you're probably better off going to Walmart. Staff is usually so-so at this store. They are helpful when you ask for help, but don't usually look like they'll reach out and ask if you need help on their own. Other than that, staff is pretty nice. I have never come to this store and witnessed staff being rude, but then again I don't come regularly. It's very organized inside and they are always well stocked with all kinds of stuff, so you won't have to search elsewhere if you're already there. The location is pretty convenient and tons of parking near The Home Depot. Office Depot is a good place to buy your supplies; however, may not be the best if you're trying to find a bargain. I think it's a great buy for businesses and not for individual buys, but you should definitely check it out for yourself to determine if this is the best place for your office needs. read more

We went in for an item to be laminated. It was quick, easy and only $2. I browsed and I had thought for some reason there would be more seasonal stuff. What they did have was in the centre aisle when you walk in. I was pleased enough that I did cross one item off my X-mas list at a reasonable price. They have everything for office - even coffee (k-cups). Bought some fun hot chocolate ones and chai latte ones as well. The stationary is endless. Very cute, girlie stationary found too if you are allowed to be creative in your work/home office. The girl at the register was personable and friendly. Overall, a successful visit. read more

Uploaded and paid for some blueprints, order went through on the website and required one of the prints be upgraded to a poster. The poster cost is $30, blueprint cost is $5. I called the store to confirm the order went through and was scheduled to pick it up the next day, and was informed by a store employee that they would need to change the order for blueprints to posters, and charge $50. I am extremely disappointed in the customer service, and am shocked that a single employee can override an entire online paid for order. This Office Depot is unreliable, they will up charge you, and they have terrible customer service. I cancelled the order and will never shop there again. read more

I come in to this location at least twice a month, AT LEAST, and on a regular basis. I usually get really good service and I always talk to pretty much the same people each time. The location is always clean and everything is really easy to find. When you walk in someone usually greets you, and as you walk around multiple employees as if you need any assistance, which is great because some stores you can't even find an employee. I have never been here and they are out of stock for something that I am looking for. One thing I do not like about Office Depot/Max is that you cannot use points to buy a gift card. Some would say that makes sense, okay. But not even if you are buying other things. If I was buying paper, pens and then gift cards, I would have to do 2 different transactions. It's like how does that make sense? Recently, I have not experienced the customer service that I am used to, and it's the same staff. When I ask a question they respond basically "I don't know" and in customer service, that should not be an answer. Office Depot is NOT MILITARY FRIENDLY. We were buying hundreds of dollars of items and at the register my husband asked the cashier do they give the military discount. The cashier said yes. Then after he rang everything up my husband looked at the receipt and there was no discount on it. He pointed it out to the cashier and the boy said, "Oh, I forgot. It's only 20%" then he motioned for the next person in line to be rung up. My husband said 20% would be at least $60 saved. The Office Depot worker was not interested in the least at making it right. Bought a laser multifunction online for store pick up. The cash register people were not busy but insisted I stand in the copy dept line to pick up my order. Stood there for 10 minutes behind 2 other people who had been standing there well before I got in line. I was able to get the Latina cash register girl to help me out, after asking all the other people in line if they were there for pick up or copy. Everyone was there for copy except me. Turns out my product was 3 steps from the registers the whole time, and. I just needed to show my ID and sign for it. If I had followed the little white girl's directions, I would have been in line for 30 minutes, or more, on pre-paid product that only needed to be signed for and was already pulled. After finishing that check out process, I grabbed a cart loaded it and was walking toward the door. Brittany thought I was trying to steal it, and asked me if I had "already paid for that"? I said, "no I'm just stealing it." She looked like she actually thought I was serious. Fortunately the other girl came over and explained that it was taken care of and all good. No way brittany didnt know that when she asked me. Her register was right next to the register where I was signing for my printer. She looked right at me. So why ask me if I already paid for it? Stupid question. If she had been better at customer service, she "should" have said, normally u pick up over there. But theres s line. I'll help u because I dont have a customer in my line. I only come here for the copying services. The employees in the business services area are friendly and efficient. They carry a nice variety of colored sheets of paper to color on ranging from $.02 to $.07 extra per sheet; the bright colors I prefer are $.03 extra per sheet. This place is close to home and convenient for copying services. I give their copying services 3 stars and the rest of the merchandise 2 stars strictly for price. Otherwise I find Office Depot expensive. Frankly, I can find most of the things I am looking for elsewhere at a cheaper price. read more

I needed a samsung laser toner for a 2020 printer , these particular printers never run out of toner for at least 5 years. This was just in case I ran out. I had searched all the Staples stores in southern California and never saw the particular toner in stock and here it was so I purchased one. It was time to get s new stapler and some scotch tape . I love scotch tape since the time I first saw it when I was in pre-school. Next time I need a hard to find toner I will go to Office depot. read more

Along came the gentleman at the print shop though, I believe his name is Dustin and he was very helpful SO he saved the day and earned 4 stars for his team. We needed to print invitations for a birthday party and KINKOS on Stockdale were rude and unhelpful so we came here and glad we did. After trying different avenues to get these invites printed Dustin printed and cut them in a flash! I appreciate his help and glad we came here. read more

I only shop here because our business has an account. I find the prices normally very high. You can find the exact same items at Walmart or Target for much less. Poor selection unless it's 'Back to School' season. The office furniture is ridiculously expensive. In some cases you can actually contact the manufacturer and purchase it directly. They do have a rewards program. But I'm not really sure what they reward you with...I'll have to look into that. read more

Once in awhile, I would come here to buy ink cartridges for our printer. I would always buy their store brand because it was cheaper than the HP cartridges. Recently, though, I found out that Costco recharges the ink cartridges. The price for that service from Costco is cheaper than Office Depots store brand cartridge, and lasts just as long. So now I have no more reason to shop at Office Depot. There products are more expensive than competitors even with their rewards program as mentioned in earlier reviews. read more

It was a hot day when came to the store to print out my sons birthday tags and banner well it wasn't going so smooth at first because they were downloaded to my cell phone and I had to make a print from email but none of the workers had a Samsung phone , the girl helping asked all employees and thank goodness one knew exactly how to help us. Came here to obtain supplies for my son who is a sophomore at IHS for Geometry class. To be honest, we didn't know Office Depot closed at 7:00pm on a Sunday until after walking in and starting to check into Yelp haha. As we scattered around the aisles we couldn't locate what we were looking for and no sales associates seemed to be available except for one, the cashier. I found this a little weird since it was closing time and you would think the other associates would be assisting customers close out their voyage in the store. We grabbed one of the things my sons needed which was a Flash Drive for his Computer Art class and proceeded to ask the cashier about the other thing. She said it is on aisle 14 near the end on the left side, we show 3 in stock, well they actually did not have any. We returned to inform the cashier there were none, but when asking if she could check other locations here in Bakersfield she hesitated at first. She started scanning the stuff we actually could buy and then said, let me check if we can do that for you. Out of no where a few more associates come out of the back area and one happens to be the shift supervisor/manager. I approached her about checking other locations and she said of course we can, the cashier seemed a little frustrated. We were told what other locations had the product we needed but they were also closed. One other thing I found a bit odd, we couldn't order what we needed....I do not mean to sound negative but the customer service here doesn't seem good. It just seemed to be lackluster even up to management when you should be driving home some sales, it is what the business thrives on people. This review is specifically about about the print center. Honestly 99% of the time the staff is NOT helpful- once there was a group of 3 girls braiding their hair before they even greeted me. I stood there for 5 minutes waiting for someone to say hello. THIS time I went in and EMILY helped me. She was very sweet and prompt and took care of what I needed. And then they tell me that the only order placed on 8/31 was someone elses. Showing my confirmation email they proceed to tell me that the order was cancelled by the customer. People here are great, service is pretty decent. My only real issue is lack of communication. I had ordered prints online for in store pick up. About two hours later I got an email saying they are ready. I go into the store, they aren't ready. My guess is there slogan "ready an in hour," is automated. An hour after you place an order, you automatically get an email saying it's ready. This has happened three times. So now I call the store if I'm pressed for time. I am a teacher who called this store wanting to get the spines cut off my math and language arts consummable textbooks. i was happy to learn they would do it when the stockdale store said they would not. As i was about to hang up, I mentioned that I have 90 books that need to be cut and then I was told they could not do it. That was too many books. I said I could leave them overnight and they said no. They have other huge back to school projects that need to be done. So it's not that they couldn't do what I needed, it's that they WOULDN'T do it. So, I took my business to Fedex Office on Stockdale and they were happy to take my business and helped me get it done cheaper. I would give no stars if I could. read more
