I came here yesterday night (1/12/23) with my gf and the cashier Eli was beyond rude. I don't know if he was having a bad day or needed a break or whatever but he shouldn't be in customer service or working at Target. For one he didn't say a word the entire time he was checking us out. We greeted him with " Hey how's your night going" He didn't acknowledge it. He just started scanning our items huffing & puffing.. Then we noticed he double scanned an item & pointed it out.. He huffed and puffed still not saying a word & fixed it. Never read us our total or said a word the entire transaction. He proceeded to snatch our receipt out of the machine and pushed our bag towards us. We still said " Hope you have a great night" and didn't receive a word back.. if you don't like working customer service just quit, There's no reason an employee needs to be that rude to a paying customer. The least you can do as a cashier is say hello.. the bare minimum. read more

What can I say about target. Love target! What is not to like about target. Great place to find household items. Tons of things to chose from. Lots of parking. Isles are wide enough for 2 carts to go by. During the major holidays it's always crowded. Especially Christmas time. Groceries are sold here too. Not a lot of variety of groceries. But safeway isn't far to drive for groceries. Safeway is on the other side of target just a minute drive. read more

Is there such a thing as a high-end Target? Because this one is. Slightly off the beaten path in Alameda, it's extremely new-looking and has a large parking lot. It's in what appears to be an industrial area, but GPS can get you there easy. Close enough to the Tube to get back to Oakland. Definitely going back if I'm in the Alameda area again (very close to 24 Hour Fitness on High St, which is why I went that way). read more

This Target is awesome. It has the pros of any other Target without any of the cons. There is always plenty of parking in a well maintained clean lot. Lines are always short and move along quickly. Staff is always available and friendly. The store is orderly and clean. The only drawback I have noticed is this store is not as well stocked as others as I have noticed sold out items more than once here. Maybe it is a low volume store at this time and it doesn't get as many product shipments as its sister stores. Regardless, I am a fan of this location and hope it is successful. read more

Great place to go shopping for Alamedians, just not those who live on bayfarm. I'm happy I don't have to travel all the way to Emeryville for the closest Target and this location seems to have everything I need. Great Target with all the usual goodness, without the massive crowds. Came on Black Friday, and they still had some of the doorbusters in the afternoon because people just don't know about this store yet. Customer service is amazing! I had a drive up order and didn't notice until I got home that one item was missing. I called the store and they were so nice about it. They had someone check the floor to see if any were in stock. There were so they held one for me and said to call when I came back and they would bring it out. I didn't even have to call when I got there because one of the employees was bringing stuff to another car and asked if I was there for pick up or drive up. When I told him why I was there, he knew exactly what I was talking about and went and got the item. They gave me a gift card for the trouble which was unexpected but appreciated. read more

I gave a friend a ride here and picked up a few sportswear items. I got home and thought why oh why did I get black yoga pants? Every hair my dog sheds will show up on these things! Somehow, I misplaced the receipt. I don't know how, I save every receipt to keep track of my budget. I called them to ask about their return policy, 5 times. For the first four times, it would ring a lot, then someone would pick up the phone and hang up on me. The 5th time, I called electronics and explained the situation and asked what their return policy was. No receipt=only partial refund, usually 4-6 dollars off what you paid.. Even if I just want to get them in a different color and they have all the tags and stickers? Yes. I bought them on sale. They probably cost me around $13. I have a homeless encampment I give things to. I would rather make a gift than get ripped off. Know what I mean? If I had used my credit card, they probably could have traced the purchase through the card, but who wants to use a credit card at Target? They got hacked-was it twice?-and everybody started getting charges from Russia and China. Lastly, there was a perfectly nice field where they built and there are more big box stores being built around it. Yuck. There goes the neighborhood. read more

This target is my go to target ... I find everything I need here from baby supplies to groceries and if you come really early once they open it won't be as crowded especially since you want to keep that social distancing from others ... you'll be able to find toiletries.. paper towels ...hand sanitizers.. dial antibacterial soap and the up and up disinfectant wipes when you come here on Wednesday's or Saturday's in the morning once they open up sells out fast better hurry:) .. customer service here varies from different people sometimes their super helpful and very nice to you and there are a few that seem pretty disgruntled with an attitude but over all they are very prepared and organized in this target when dealing with Covid-19 ...they follow protocol so I feel safe shopping here every weekend .. :) I really do appreciate that this target is open and they are keeping us safe during the pandemic!Thank you! read more

Like any Target, you can spend hours there. This is one of the bigger Targets in the area and the only one in Alameda. They have a Starbucks inside and serve their typical target food with pizza hut pasta and personal pizza. I come here often when I am in the area. I have never had issues here and will continue to shop here. If you need groceries they have a good selection here too. They have a good amount of items in stock so come early when they open so you don't have to fight for parking. read more

To get here from Oakland, you take the Webster Street tube under the estuary and when you come out on the Alameda end, you take the first right on Willie Stargell and the next right to get to Target. My experience at this Target was horrible. I been shopping at this Target for years, and never have I had a horrible experience like I did on Sunday. Earlier this week I went in and found a vacuum that said it was on sale for 80 dollars. Once I got to the cashier, the cashier informed me that it was not on sale but it costed $120. She asked her manager if they could honor it. Her manager sent someone to check the price. She then told me she had to check the cameras to make sure the vacuums were not moved making it seem like I changed the price. I feel that was poor customer service, and they need to give that manager some training. As a customer I would not want someone else to go trough this. read more

I used to shop at Taget in Alameda every weekend with my friend and my son since it is located in a good neighborhood. The last time I visited on Monday night around 9:40 pm, the customer service at checking out area was really bad that i did not have experience with Target before. I was a employee at this target I worked in the food department but was fired on my 3rd day on the job by the team leader in the groceries department his first name is Luis he has a accent but because I couldn't complete a task by myself within a time limit without any training or help I was let go. I tried to explain to Luis (team leader) that I was new & I was still getting the hang of things and we walked away and came back with the store owner and they both started yelling at me saying this isn't a job for me and saying things to try to get me to respond to them in a aggressive tone. Updated this review after a recent experience in the Emeryville Target. I hadn't been to that location since the Alameda location opened. Emeryville had parking that was mostly full since it's in a busy location, lots of traffic while you exit the store, and it was crowded with lots of people shopping with long checkout lines. This store is generally less crowded, and parking is always a breeze. Now that they have opened self-checkouts, my wait time has gone down significantly if I'm only buying a few things. My only complaint is that if you're picking up food items, you need to check the dates here. I've bought things that were past their date by accident, or it had a date that was approaching soon and I had to return them. Dealing with customer service has still been really good here. I also got a Target debit card a few months ago to save 5%, so I'm here even more than ever now. This location also recently opened a Target Optical here too. I also had a positive experience there as well. read more

I came to Target to get a light stand. We came inside Target and then we found out the entrance to Target was on the left hand side. We entered then and there is little empoples working inside. We walked around and not go directly to the home decor selection. We didn't stop at the food court. The is a lot at target and it is pretty empty. The only decoration problem with Target is there is too much red color. It is kinda of weird. The other problem is the location and it causes traffic jams. When we came and go the cashier line, I was quickly checked out with card. The cashier was nice. We came out of the store in the left hand side. On Monday, June 24th, at 5 p.m., I called the Electronics Dept because I'd gotten the precise bad service from Verizon that the "Cell Phone Specialist"...no one else in the whole store even seems to know how to turn one on, believe me...sold me with the promise that I would get prepaid customer service from an American call center. Well, that's a lie. That lie reflects on Target, not Verizon. Second, I called the Electronics Department and was referred to a "specialist" who then claimed I'd spoken to his boss...I believe that was a lie, and it was the same guy, then mumbled something inaudible, and hung up on me, the customer. Third, I called right back, and no one in Electronics answered. Fourth, I called right back and asked to speak to the manager, got transferred to the gibberish-titled Guest Services Desk, got a woman who claimed she was the store manager, and she refused to speak to the staff at the Electronics Dept. at all. Don't be a sucker. Spend your money with a different company. Just look at the In-and-Out Burger joint right next to this store: In a low-wage industry, at the bottom, really, it pays its employees vastly higher wages and makes sure every one of them gets health insurance right away. There are better stores...USE your intelligence, use the internet, and fine some that won't treat you, and other people, the way that Target treated me. read more

Target just got major star drop with me! I just tried to return something and was treated like a criminal by their "customer service". I finally had to politely ask her to stop rushing me and treat me like a customer. She tried to hand me my license, a gift card, a receipt, the foam tiles I was attempting to return, all while calling the next person up. Where am I?!?! I come to target for a reason! If I cared about prices, I would go to walmart down on Haggenberger. I care about service and order! That's why I come to target. I am willing to pay a little more to be treated with respect. Just moved back to Alameda about five weeks ago. Been walking to the Target, buying about $10-$15 in groceries weekly. Walked there a few weeks ago, got my groceries and looked at some TVs. Saw one that was perfect for me and on sale. Talked to the guy at the TV area and he assured me it had certain hook ups that I wanted to attach it to my computer. Told him to hold the TV for me I need to walk home and get my car. I needed a TV within a few days in preparation for the cable guy coming over. Went to pay for my groceries. When I payed I also asked for two dollars in quarters for laundry. The cashier said she can't give me quarters. I asked to speak to a manager. The manager said the same thing, but she elaborated with a complicated scenario story of why the store does not give out change. OK, bought my groceries, went home got my car and went to Safeway to buy a roll of quarters. While there I price checked the things I normally buy and say maybe a forty cent difference in price. Well worth it to me to get the convenience of getting change for laundry when getting groceries. By the time I got the quarters It was too late to get the TV. The next day I was working in Hayward and went by the Sears there. Saw the same TV for less and they gave me a year no interest on the Sears card. Went back to Target a few days later and asked for the store manager. I got a floor manager. I insisted on seeing the store manager. They said he's not there. I told the floor manager what happened and how they lost a major sale for $2.- in quarters. She was all apologetic. I explained that she does not need to apologize they already lost the major sale and lost my small grocery business too. I was just going to inform the store manager of what to expect on Yelp. The floor manager apologized again. I left. I doubt anything I said registered. They don't really care. Oh and a side note, remember how I said the TV "expert" said the TV had the right plugs. Found out at sears it does not. I would have bought it got it home and had to come back and get the right stuff later. I am done with Target in Alameda. read more

This is the go to Target in the East Bay. Store is cleaner, staff are friendlier, and the customers have a lot less of an ego at this Target. The Emeryville one is gross, San Leandro and Hayward are thugged out, leaving this Target to be the one of choice. A better mix of people, not all WASP's, not all thugs, not all techies, not all military, lots of brown people and an overall better vibe. Of the Targets in the area this one is the one. So if you are a rude transplant lacking cultural adaptation and feel weird around Non Anglo Ethnic groups (lots of professionals with matching incomes) then stay far far because we do not need you. read more
