We walked in and the waitress almost ran me over. When she came over to take our drink order I asked if they had any aguas frescas and she said no and looks over to a cooler that had different bottles and can drinks and said that's all we have. I ordered a water and got the menu. I ordered caldo de res ($6.99) and the taco plate ($7.99) with tacos de barbacoa and fajita. My wife had the flautas ($8.99). She really liked the flautas and the rice but we had to ask for extra crema. The fajita taco was good, but the barbacoa was very greasy. I tried to use a napkin to soak up the grease but to no avail. Luckily, the caldo came with extra tortillas so I just transferred the barbacoa from the grease soaked tortilla to a fresh one and it was all good. Caldo was great also with only one big piece of fat mixed in with the meat. The worst part of the experience was paying. Went up to the counter to pay and after waiting a bit finally the waitress poked her head out but quickly jumped back to the kitchen without saying a word. First thing out of her mouth in her return is we don't take cards. A cash only sign would have been good, but luckily I had some cash which is not typical and would have been embarrassing if I didn't. Once i said that was fine, she curiously said that would be $35. Hmm, that's odd to the exact dollar. She didn't even use the register but I gave her $40 and she disappeared back into the kitchen. When she returned I asked if it was exactly $35 as I was trying to figure out the tip and she said "yes does it seem like too much?" I told her it did based on the menu prices and she said it's because they don't have any change. I gave a few bucks tip and went on my way knowing they charged me more than the menu prices so be aware. It doesn't seem like they're ready to be open business wise but the good was pretty good.

I enjoy the food here. They make it on the spot so it's fresh. Just take cash when you go they don't accept card.

Whataburger is a true Texan tradition -- whether it's your last meal in the Lone Star State, or…read moreyour first one back, it's bound to be a treat either way. In this case, it was the second option -- and I had brought my Californian friends along for the ride, as I had not had Whataburger in five years. Shoutout to the Loop 12 Irving Whataburger Team for taking care of us. The menu did get a little bit more expensive, but I guessed it was mainly due to inflation. But also there was an addition: Mexican Chocolate Coffee? Which I never heard of before. For this specific trip, I ordered a Whataburger Burger Combo - with a large drink and fries. To be fair, I forgot how big the Texas sizes were, so I was overwhelmed and wasn't able to finish the whole thing as a whole. However, the sandwich itself was so juicy and tender, and the bun was toasted in a way that was similar to what would be ordered at Cane's with their Texas Toast. I'd definitely come back again to this specific one -- you have my service and you ave a good vibe, and I'd definitely love to come back for more!

Service was great but the food was not really fresh. The only food that was great was the honey…read morebutter biscuit, so I would only come back for that. I would rather go to In N Out or another fast food restaurant for a good burger, fries, and wings. Also, I was disappointed with the spicy ketchup since it tasted like regular ketchup to me.

Griff's Hamburgers is an Irving institution. My parents were coming here back in their school days,…read moreand it still holds up as one of the best old-school greasy burger joints around. The building is newer and kept really clean, but thankfully the original 1950s-style sign still stands tall--an Irving classic and a reminder of its roots. This isn't fancy cuisine; it's good, greasy, satisfying food done right. The Burgers: Whether you grab a single or double, you'll leave happy. But if you're feeling bold, go triple or even quadruple--it's going to be a monster. Juicy, greasy, exactly what a fast-food burger should be. Sides: Fries are solid, onion rings have a thick, flavorful batter (pretty sure they make them fresh, though I won't swear to it). Both hit the spot. Other Classics: The chicken fried steak sandwich is a gem. Sure, it's a frozen patty, but it's rare to even find this on a fast-food menu anymore. There's something nostalgic and comforting about it. The chicken sandwich is legit, and the hot link sandwich has great flavor if you want to try something different. Dessert: Don't skip the fried apple pie--it's that old-school style McDonald's used to have before they went "healthy" with baked pies. Crispy, hot, and just the right amount of sweet. Drinks: Only downside--if you want a diet drink, they only carry Diet Coke. Griff's, please add Coke Zero or Diet Dr Pepper! That would make a great place even better. And of course, you can't go wrong with a milkshake to top it all off. Bottom line: If you're craving greasy comfort food, nothing beats a Griff's burger. It's fast food in its purest, most nostalgic form, and an Irving landmark that's still worth every visit

These were bad small stuck together and they obviously don't change the oil enough. Instead of a golden brown they had a motor oil yellow brown look. So if like me the rings were what you come for, look elsewhere because this is a big fail to me. I'm giving 3 stars for the burger only. It's really a 4 -5 but I take off for the rings.

If you ever feel like eating KFC, take a good long look at yourself in the mirror and remind…read moreyourself of this place first. KKC has some of the best halal fried chicken I've had in the US, especially in the DFW area. This is one of those comfort meals you crave at 9 PM on a Tuesday that can't be beat. The ambiance is that of your average hole in the wall chicken joint. Overall I rate this place 8 s/10. ------------ The Zinger burger (basically a spicy chicken sandwich) is my go to order from here, a solid 8.5/10. They always put a huge chicken patty in there and a generous amount of sauce. You really can't go wrong. Their chicken itself is an 8/10, upgraded to 8.5 with the garlic sauce. They really got the spices down right. I would not recommend the Mac and cheese (5/10), it's very watery and lacked any flavor. The potato wedges were great though. (Although I'm not sure how you could mess those up).

One thing to note is that some of the side dishes have different prices on online orders when you add them on to your entrees vs. adding them separately ($.99 + difference). **Average Dish Cost(s): Under $8. **Food: 3 Piece White Meat Meal ($9.28)-- I chose white meat ($.80) and extra biscuits ($1.89) which increased the price from $6.59. The chicken was extremely delicious. It tasted fresh despite my order being late in the day and the skin was crisp and seasoned so well that I ate all of it. Usually I'll peel the skin off and discard it, but not this time. The white meat was juicy and nothing pink was found. 10/10. Extra biscuits ($1.89)-- These biscuits were some of the best I've ever had. Their outward appearance didn't match how delicious they were. They were soft and had an essence of honey to them. Side Mashed Potatoes ($2.99)-- I admit I was hesitant to eat this because I expected more of a brown gravy, but these were amazing! Not too salty and they tasted fresh. **Seating: Looked to have regular table style seating that is closed off due to the virus issue. **Location: It's located next to a bunch of other establishments within a mini strip type of place. Google GPS lead me to a park that's a but away, so be careful. Lots of parking spaces.
