I just happened to see this little taqueria on my way to pick up laundry from TLC Laundromat and I was like "heck yeah!" because little holes in the walls like this place always have the best food and can be real hidden gems in terms of authentic Mexican food. This wasn't the case here and I feel like I could have gotten better food at the local Taco Bell. I was hesitant walking in because there were no other customers and the booths were in shambles. The woman working there had to fix the broken leather seat in order for me to be able to sit down. The floors were clean and so was my table but yikes, invest in some new furniture! I decided on the #17 which consisted of three shredded chicken tacos on corn tortillas (you can ask for flour) with a side of cilantro, iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and a package of sour cream. The tortillas were soggy and hadn't been warmed up in a skillet like I'm used to. The shredded chicken obviously had been seasoned but sure didn't taste like it and the iceburg lettuce was ICE cold and wet. This was just a really hastily thrown together meal straight from the freezer. I ate one and threw the rest away. They also don't have a fountain drink station and instead offer canned or bottled sodas. Really isn't worth your time or money. You can make this stuff cheaply at home or just pick up some Taco Bell, because although you'll be in the bathroom later, at least it has flavor.

Polite service, absolutely amazing Spanish language shows on the television, generous proportions, this place is great. The food is authentic (sorry taco bell) and delicious. The drinks are cold and crisp. This place is a hidden gem. Come hungry, leave happy.

Best salsa in Arabi. I usually get a barbacoa chimi and it is quite delicious. Small place in a strip mall, service has been great so far.

Worst Al Paster taco of my life, very dry, looked like it was cooked a week ago, frozen and then reheated. People were nice though.

Always pass this place up thinking the patio looks nice, so my mom and I decided to stop in on Good…read moreFriday. We sat on the patio because of the nice weather. Our waitress gave us some chips and salsa. It was fine, salsa was a little peppery (not necessarily spicy, but a good bit of black pepper). Since it was Good Friday we ordered seafood dishes. My mom ordered the shrimp taco salad and I ordered some shrimp tacos. When my mom ordered the waitress asked what kind of dressing she wanted, but when she brought it out she didn't tell my mom they already put a dressing on the salad. So the other dressing wasn't needed. My shrimp tacos were okay but needed a sauce to go on them. I asked the waitress and she said she could bring me one of the sauces they had, but that it'd be 50 cent. I still decided to get it and it added some flavor/moisture to the tacos. This place has some cute photo worthy areas. I've attached pics of 2 of them, but there's also a swing to take a pic by. When I went inside to take a pic of the chair with the tequila made me do it sign, there was a good bit of fruit flies around there which was aggravating as I had to keep trying to swat them away as I took the picture.

They also have outside seating. Service was fast and attentive. I ordered the brirra tacos and they came out in a flash. They were amazing and hot! Hubs had the house recommended burrito and said it was good. Our friend had a combo, enjoyed part then and took the rest home. I went with the stuffed poblanos with chicken. Note that when you add meet to these it is put on top, makes sense if the poblanos are prepped early. I'm not sure it needs the breading but things seem to get breaded in NOLA. It was also oddly salty in some spots, almost like someone had poured instead of sprinkled. It was a good option after a day of Mardi Gras fun, especially given wait times at other places closer in (we were told 1.5 to 2 hours for good at Buffa's and Port of Call had closed at 6 so we headed out a little at our friends suggestions.

The cup of soup had tortilla strips that were extremely too large for the tiny soup and they were rubbery and extremely salty. It just felt like I was eating soggy chips and not a proper tortilla soup. I'm glad I didn't order the bowl. The queso was also very salty. By looking at others food it was very generic food and, yes I'm Mexican and therefore bias, but even allowing for the fact that we're not in Mexico and giving some type of grace, nothing appeared Mexican! I'm sad they sell this and market it as a Mexican restaurant as the food was not even remotely close to Mexican flavors. They need to look up basic tortilla soup online and try again. I'm disappointed and will not be coming back. Please check your recipes and at least get closer to Mexican flavors. I understand there are a variety of Mexican flavors but this completely missed the mark. I do not recommend it if you're looking for real Mexican flavors or flavors that are remotely close to Mexican flavors. Look elsewhere.

Large waiting area to stand and wait near the hostess station. Also has a bar area which looks like first come, first serve. We ordered drinks while we waited and hung out in the lobby area. Finally we were sat. Complimentary chips and salsa were brought right away. We Ordered drinks and the chorizo queso, which came fairly quickly. The queso is HOT, bubbling in a volcanic rock molcajete. Sooo good. Strongly suggest this item! I ordered the Tacos Tijuana (lengua). My husband ordered grilled fish tacos and an ala carte cheese quesadilla. The food was great. Lengua was a little dry- I know it's lean but it was not as juicy and gamey as I like. No other complaints except the guacamole that came with my tacos tasted artificial or "off". It also stayed very green throughout the meal which tells me there is either a lot of lemon or it is premade with something to make it not oxidate like fresh avocados. It was just not great guacamole. The frijoles charro on the other hand were excellent! Lots of flavor, pork, cooked nicely and seasoned well. I could eat that by itself. I will for sure be back.
