This place has the potential to be amazing! Located directly beside the courthouse, this place could be a gem. The inside is an old bank, so converting the old vault into a tequila room was really creative. The waitress was friendly, welcoming, and eager to get my order correct. The Chalmette burrito was good but could use more meat. The steak quesadilla was a great portion size, and all I was missing was some sour cream and guacamole. The steak nachos are 10 out of 10. The chips were fresh with the perfect amount of crisp; the avocado was fresh with just the right amount of firmness; the steak was seasoned to perfection, and the Queso was the cherry on the sundae. They looked just as good as they taste. With the right amount of support, this place can be something serious. read more

Definitely should be 5 stars but Burrito lacked meat and meat options. Service was great. Ambiance place is new modern and spotless!! Chalmette Burrito was perfect size fully eggs good flavor but definitely needed more meat maybe some potatoes and CARNE ASADA. Pretty much ground beef and chorizo only options no bacon turkey sausage either. Restaurant has great potential hopefully it stays for awhile. read more

First when I approached the restaurant the first thing I noticed was how neat and clean it was. When I walked in it was brightly lit and super clean. It was also nicely decorated. My husband and I finally went to Agave tonight on St. Bernard Hwy and we were both so impressed! The food was soooo good!!!!!! It's super cute in there too, like trendy/updated, clean, and when the owner saw us looking at the vault (yes it has the original bank vault in there!) he asked us if we wanted to come take a look. Of course I did, lol!!! He also showed us the private room available to rent. It's big enough to do private dinners, meetings, company gatherings, a team banquet, or a graduation party, etc...and it's a nice room and nice decor. He said he rents the room un-catered for $50/hour or you can have them cater it. I didn't ask the price for that because I assumed the price would vary based on headcount and menu. It's a perfect place for a date night or family dinner. It had a more upscale Mexican restaurant vibe, which we appreciate finding something like that in the parish, but without the high prices. I really enjoyed talking to the owner too. He's a very nice man. Y'all go try it, you won't be disappointed, seriously!!! We had chips and queso, two specialty tacos, a grande burrito, iced tea, and a margarita. With the tip, our bill was $50. Pretty nice deal! I'm just a local who eats out a lot. We like getting good service and good food at great prices. We didn't drink beer on this occasion but tonight all of their beers were $2!! Like what?!?!... Let's keep these small places open! Very upsetting. I've been really wanting to eat here & was excited to get some food, but was told they couldn't swap out one of the tacos for Plate 2 on the menu. It literally would've been no effort. it comes with a taco, i just didn't like that one & wanted a different one. Girl on the phone said "we can't do substitutions while we're busy" AS IF putting a different taco on the plate is an issue. now i will never get to eat here. i even offered to pay 50 cents or a dollar extra if needed. but nope. they couldn't just swap a taco & declined business & a paying customer. :( !!!!! read more
