Beautiful but flavorless tacos!!!!! Great marg!
    Leah S.

This was our biggest culinary disappointment on our trip to New Orleans and was the one I was most excited for being from Texas looking forward to bright, bold, Latin flavors. The margarita amazing! Ambience amazing! Presentation amazing! The tacos looked like they were going to be a burst of flavor and inventive but they tasted like nothing. The fish taco literally had no flavor. The steak taco was so hard we couldn't even eat the meat. Chicken taco was the best and the pork taco was nothing but a boat of grease. I understand they used to have good tacos and seem to be riding on the coattails of that accolade, but it's time to step up the game because those tacos were really pathetic and not at all good. I have respect for the industry and work in it myself, so it begs to question: do the employees not eat what they serve? How have flavorless tacos made it past quality check? We overheard other couples asking the same and being disappointed in the food. Step it up Barracuda.

Food was good, atmosphere was great and the margarita was delicious! Great tacos and good pricing. Will definitely be back.

In cozy Algiers, this picture perfect place stands out visually. It's downright lovely and inviting. I got here at sunrise just in time for opening and a delicious iced coffee while the team was making my egg & bean and egg & mushroom tacos. The vibe was relaxed and the folks here are gracious. I was in no hurry because it's a beautiful morning in New Orleans and the fog lifted while the sun rose and cheered up the streets. Algiers is one of those neighborhoods where you find yourself saying, hmm, I could live here. The Barracuda Taco Stand is the kind of place that could seal the deal.

The pork tacos were delicious! Juicy flavorful pork, pickled red onions topped with crush pork rind pieces. The nachos and queso was very cheesy with a few pepitas and pomegranate seeds. A++

My son and I were recommended to this establishment by the bartender at the Crown & Anchor for the best tacos and bowls around. You order food at a window, pay (card only), take your number, and they will bring the food out when it's done. You pick up your alcoholic drinks from a different window. The male cashier was short and unfriendly. The female server who brought the food out was pleasant. We enjoyed the nachos and queso. The mole chicken taco, beef tacos, and beef bowl were excellent. Our margaritas were basic but strong and competitively priced for the size. The business is housed in an old Gulf gas station. Picnic and low-top outdoor seating. Fans and warmers for the changing weather. Flush toilets and restrooms are available. Daily specials. Located in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood with lovely shotgun houses.

I've been to New Orleans over 20 times and I've never been to Algiers Point. A client of mine who is an actress and producer of independent films recently moved to Algiers point. I heard it was very interesting place that had its early roots in New Orleans history so I decided to take the ferry for $.80 that goes across the Mississippi from Canal Street to Algiers Point in about 10 minutes. Algiers Point, established in 1719, is New Orleans' second-oldest neighborhood, located across the Mississippi River from the French Quarter. On the way to meet her I saw historical homes, churches, artistic doors, porches, homes of many variety with early colonial, French, art, and 200-400 year old trees that had my head and camera spinning. We decided to meet at Barracuda, a window Mexican joint with a big patio that used to be a gas station it appears. The chicken tacos were very fresh with an unusual but tasty take on guacamole. Very good Horchata. Very tasty, reasonably priced and hit the spot as the one cuisine I miss when I travel away from the other LA, Los Angeles, is Mexican food. While Mexican food is diverse, regional and delicious, Barracuda serves up the standard Mexican that most people know but in an interesting and satisfying way.

Barracuda is the Taco Tuesday King! I have an affinity for this location in particular due to my roots in the neighborhood. I grew up riding my bike all around the block and playing at the park across the street. I enjoy sitting at Barracuda with my tacos and seeing little ones enjoy the neighborhood the same way I did. The food is always bomb. This time I had the fish tacos and and a pork taco with the razzle dazzle added on. It was delish and lot more filling than I was expecting. In my mind I also wanted a fish bowl but I'm glad I didn't over do it. The two tacos with a side of beans was just enough. My group of 7 sat out there for quite a while and it was rather busy from 6pm- 7:30 on Taco Tuesday. It's advised to get there earlier if possible to beat the crowd.

Third time in a week... safe to say I might be setting a personal record here, but Barracuda in Algiers Point just keeps pulling me back in. No better way to wrap up a Sunday evening than tacos after a run on the levee by the Mississippi. This round, we went with fish tacos, chicken tacos, and my all-time favorite -- the chicken bowl. The flavors? Incredible. Every bite hits perfectly balanced -- fresh, savory, and bold. And that green salsa? A fiery kick of spiciness that elevates everything it touches. Honestly, it's addictive. Barracuda is a local gem through and through -- simple, delicious, and always satisfying. Bon appétit

Barracuda's tacos are always great. I didn't know they have a lunch box combo meal where you can get two tacos with rice and beans for $10 on m-f 11am-3pm. Service is always quick and the staff is always friendly.

    Broccoli taco - amazing

The broccoli taco almost brought me to tears it was so good. So so good. Had a late lunch here on a Saturday. Fantastic patio dining chill vibe with good music over the speakers (not too loud).

I really like the chill outdoor environment. Super cute and the tacos are yummy! Next time I want to try crispy fish taco. That's what everybody keeps talking about, but I didn't try that this time. Service was nothing outstanding, but it wasn't bad. Plus the food didn't take long to come out. I will say that drinks are not that strong, butttt they are tasty! I got the frozen mango drink. (I forgot exactly what it's called.) I'd come back here!

Great little gem in Algiers Point. We took the ferry over from New Orleans and stopped by after a stroll along the levee. They have amazing Tex mex food and solid margaritas. 100% recommend a trip over to Algiers point to try them out.

    Unassuming entrance....

Spending so much time in New York, I've probably had better, but the food here is still good. This is a small chain (NOLA, Metairie, Baton Rouge, West Palm Beach), outfitted with neon, murals, and pink flowers. The menus are high tech and light up when you open them. We started with the queso fundido, with melted mozzarella, chorizo, pico de gallo, and microgreens. Comes with corn or flour tortillas. It was cheesy and tasted great. They also provide chips and a flight of three salsas. Salsas all had completely different flavors and spice levels, so I enjoyed that. Other options are guacamole (with or without short rib), plain queso dip, short rib bites, and oysters rockefeller. Selections include various tacos. I had the birria tacos, which are served in a dramatic fashion, hanging from a line over the tray, which contained the consomme, salsas, rice, and refried beans. They were juicy and savory and the accompaniments hit the spot. Though I've probably had better birria elsewhere . . . not sure you'll find any better or authentic anywhere in New Orleans. My husband had the fish tacos (ensenada), crispy and covered in cilantro, payo, pickled cabbage, avocado, and pico de gallo. The fish was light and the pickled slaw added just the right amount of brightness and acidity. They also have mushroom tacos, chicken, bone marrow wagyu, carnitas, shrimp, and more. They serve larger main dishes including fajitas, carne asada, barbacoa, burritos, enchiladas, and more. They have a great drink menu with the expected margaritas and mezcal as well as some fancy specialty drinks. I has the Hasta el Agua Del Florero, which is vodka, bombay, lemon juice, pineapple juice, and watermelon syrup. It was good, but also 20 dollars. The margaritas of course come a little cheaper at 13 bucks and are decent. Some people complained about service. It wasn't busy when we stopped in, but our server stayed on top of things, the table was always bussed, he kept checking to make sure everything was to our liking. We had no server issues at all. Not sure this would be the top of my list to try of all the choices in New Orleans, but not a bad choice if you're in the mood for a Taco Tuesday or some Mexican chow.

Fresh seafood from the Gulf of MEXICO and a wicked drink menu. They offer several ceviches. Tapas include guacamole, empanadas, crawfish queso, fish dip and veggie salads like crispy cauliflower and Brussels sprouts. We had the crispy cauliflower served with tempura, cashew habanero crema, garbanzo hash, and chimichurri. Loads of flavor and just the right bite size for tapas/apps. Plates include churrasco, fish and grits, paella (can be served veggie or without shellfish if you're allergic), lamb, Yucatan style pork, shrimp or steak mofongo, and chicken poblano. I had the churrasco, served with papas bravas. Steak cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly. My husband had the steak mofongo and the beef tips, like the churrasco, were seasoned perfectly. The plantain mash was sweet and somehow savory at the same time. We loved both dishes. They make mean margaritas and caipirinhas hre, and also offer drinks like the paloma, the Bolivian sour, sangria, and specialty drinks. Service was amazing. She was so upbeat and helpful. This restaurant was a little slow when we went. It deserves a lot more love. It's so close to the touristy part of the French Quarter. Leave the gimmicky spots and come here, you won't regret it.
