The food here is great. The service is great and there is a lot of seating space inside and outside of the restaurant.

I knew this place would be good because every time I passed by the patio was packed! Stopped by today with a friend randomly and everything was delicious! It did take a while for a server to come to our table but once that was settled everything was great! Definitely sit on the patio if it's a beautiful day outside. Those charro beans and rice are *chefs kiss* I even got an order to take to go! I tried octopus for the first time in the Tacos El Gover and it was DELICIOUS! Seasoned perfectly! Huge portions! Nothing we had was bad. Literally can't wait to come back again!

The pictures on social media brought me here--great photos online, for sure! The décor was amazing, but I do have one recommendation: the bar seats are too low compared to the height of the bar, making them pretty awkward and uncomfortable. Because of this, I moved from the bar to a table to finish my visit. As for the drinks, the margaritas left a bit to be desired, but the tacos were amazing--especially the birria tacos! I did have a rather questionable exchange with my server. I asked how the watermelon margarita was made--whether with fresh muddled watermelon or manufactured purée. She assured me that watermelons were delivered daily for a fresh experience. However, once I received my drink, I could tell instantly that it wasn't fresh watermelon. When I asked for a refund due to the misleading information, she refused. So, I went to the manager, who happened to be working the bar, and asked him the same question. Without hesitation, he pulled out a bottle of watermelon purée. After explaining what happened, he seemed a bit aggravated but ultimately voided the drink and made me a replacement at the normal price. Very interesting, to say the least. If I come back, it will strictly be for the tacos.

The red fish entree was delicious. So was the raspberry margaritas very tasty though not that strong.

Everything was amazing. The food was delicious. Huge portions. Well seasoned. We ate outside and ambiance was great. The waitress was very attentive provided excellent service.

The food is always good here! This is my favorite Mexican restaurant on the Westbank. Our waiter was attentive and I love the ambiance- always upbeat with music and a festive atmosphere.

Great experience! The food was fresh, seasoned, beautifully plated, and filling. The ambiance was lovely. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and lively. I loved it. The service topped it off. The waitress was attentive and kind. Certainly coming back.

Have had dinner here on three separate occasions now. And have been even more impressed each time. The restaurant itself is a vibe, with added leather menus to set the mood. The mole enchiladas were amazing with tons of flavor. The Sabor de Mi Pueblo is also a great option with large variety and only $17.99. The flank steak was perfection. Will be back.

Except for the server's slight annoyance at our slow pace, this was an outstanding meal. We got the: corn ribs, shrimp tacos, soft shell crab tacos, el Sur plate and the steak, shrimp and chorizo plate. With churros for dessert. Every bite was good! The least favorite was the chorizo. We all left raving about the food and planning to bring other people there too!

The restaurant has beautiful and updated decor. It gives Tulum vibes. Love the Monkey-themed light fixtures. Our server Annie was smiling and knowledgeable about the menu options. Service was quick, but enchiladas were not prepared how i'm used to them being prepared. They were a bit dry.

After reading a review elsewhere, I knew I needed to try this spot. First impressions - very cute, nice patio, and smelled legit! As someone who lived in TX for a while, I'm not easy to please with Mexican/TexMex. This place was delicious! Servings were massive. Service was amazing. Only took a star off because it was WAY TOO LOUD inside. Not even chatty loud, the music was night club loud.

Finally got to try this place...every time I pass by it's always poppin. Now I know why!? The ambience, the drinks (top shelf), and the service was great . Our waitress was so kind and patient with us . There are so many options on the menu that we took a while to choose what we want . I don't remember the names of what we both got but I definitely have a picture but I do remember that I got a coconut marg on the rocks with herradura reposado and it was perfection. Our food was exploding with flavor. I cannot wait to go back.

Love this spot! The ambiance is cute, the food is delicious and the drinks are great. I'm not sure how often they have live music but there was a mariachi band when I went one weekend and there was a band playing outdoors when I went on a Wednesday night. The only downside is the parking. You can't park in the main area where the other stores are located.

The quesatacos were so good!!! The people are friendly and helpful. I went during lunch time and my order did not take long to come out. I will be back.

Very bad service from hostess as well as owner. Our waitress was really good. Our food was pretty good but not worth the price we paid.

Large waiting area to stand and wait near the hostess station. Also has a bar area which looks like first come, first serve. We ordered drinks while we waited and hung out in the lobby area. Finally we were sat. Complimentary chips and salsa were brought right away. We Ordered drinks and the chorizo queso, which came fairly quickly. The queso is HOT, bubbling in a volcanic rock molcajete. Sooo good. Strongly suggest this item! I ordered the Tacos Tijuana (lengua). My husband ordered grilled fish tacos and an ala carte cheese quesadilla. The food was great. Lengua was a little dry- I know it's lean but it was not as juicy and gamey as I like. No other complaints except the guacamole that came with my tacos tasted artificial or "off". It also stayed very green throughout the meal which tells me there is either a lot of lemon or it is premade with something to make it not oxidate like fresh avocados. It was just not great guacamole. The frijoles charro on the other hand were excellent! Lots of flavor, pork, cooked nicely and seasoned well. I could eat that by itself. I will for sure be back.

Hate the plastic glasses, but at least get the drink cold. COLD. An on-the-rocks margarita is not supposed to be lukewarm. This was. I strained into my water glass and added ice, let it cool, and poured it back in the margarita glass. There were three of us and two of our three orders came out wrong (one specifically asked for NO cheese and it was covered in it). Mine was a "Caesar" in menu name only. A Caesar is a RECIPE. Imagine ordering chicken cordon bleu and getting pork, bacon and cheddar. Or a BLT and getting salami, avocado, and bell peppers. That's what it is like when you order a Caesar and it's not a Caesar. It was that far off of what a Caesar is. Call it an El Patron Chef Salad. Call it a House Salad. But a Caesar doesn't have avocado, tortilla strips (???), red onions and tomatoes. What it does have? Dressing. This one did not and was room temperature. Even with the dressing (which obviously isn't homemade but was serviceable) still not a Caesar. Caesars in good restaurants are on a chilled plate but that's minor (this was frankly out-of-the-dishwasher warm) compared to it NOT BEING a Caesar. Wasn't very busy (we were in the big room with all the slices of trees on the wall) had about five tables and 15-17 people total? Service was pretty slow. The server was very nice, but the fact that I'm having to tell the server that a Caesar is supposed to have Caesar dressing (which they do carry. The kitchen just hadn't put it on anywhere on the salad.) speaks to a lack of training. Salsa was average, but not exceptional. Overall, completely middle of the road. I'm Coloradan and I'm used to amazing Mexican food and this was below average. Hence the three stars. If Yelp had a 1-10 scale it would get a 3 or 4.

Today I wanted something different and inexpensive. I checked Yelp, saw it was right there, and had to talk myself into it because I eat tacos ALL the time... like I'm lowkey taco'd out. But something about authentic tacos on corn from a lil shack like this? They hit different. So I went with my move. I looked at the menu and saw tongue tacos... and that sold me Mind you, I NEVER had tongue before. But I said I wanted something different, so let's stand on that. Pulled up around lunch--about 3 people waiting. There's an option to call ahead too. I waited a few minutes, but they acknowledged me quick, and you could tell they were working, so I wasn't tripping. Ordered 3 tacos: tongue (of course), shredded beef, and pork. Threw in pupusas because why not--it's been years. And a melon juice. Total was about $29, got my number, waited maybe 8-10 minutes. When they handed me the bag... it had a little weight on it I already knew. I ate in my car since there's no real inside seating, and started with the pork taco. Now listen... pork tacos can be DRY. I don't really order them for that reason. But THIS one?? Juicyyyyy. Like juices-on-my-shirt type juicy (I'm too grown for that ). Flavor was there, shredded perfect--they changed my whole outlook on pork tacos. Then I tasted the other two because they looked similar. First one ended up being the tongue... and babyyyy. Tender. Soft. It reminded me of goat--real rich and flavorful. I can't even believe I tried it, let alone LIKED it. I'm officially sold. The beef was good too, but after that tongue taco? It was hard to compete, I'm not even gonna lie. That red salsa? Flavorful with a kick. I love spice... but spice don't always love me back Still worth it. The melon juice started off a little grainy (you can tell it's real fruit), but once it settled, it smoothed out. Super refreshing. Now them pupusas... I did NOT expect two. That's why the bag felt like that Stuffed with meat and cheese, crispy on the outside, soft inside. Came with the pickled cabbage/carrot mix and that tomato-based sauce--everything worked together. Not spicy, just balanced. Only thing I'd note--no prices listed, but for everything I got (plus that big 32oz drink), it was honestly worth it.

Then she brought out chips and salsa bottles, but no dish to put the salsa in. The wine opener and menus stayed on the table the whole time until I handed them back to her when the food arrived. She also did not bring napkins so we grabbed the paper towel roll off of the bar counter top. She did tell us at the end while we were cashing out that she is new. The food itself was really good! I thought the tacos were excellent- the barbacoa was juicy and seasoned well - perfect little street tacos! My husband enjoyed his burrito- it was solid. I ate the other half for dinner later. The loaded fries were ok. The al pastor meat was the best part. We were already full so ate about half the fries. Overall not a horrible experience because the food was very good.
