My wife heard great things about this restaurant from her fellow employees. First of all parking is a problem. We weren't the only ones who heard that this was a great restaurant. After finally finding a place to park we were told that it would be a 15-20 minute wait. We went to the bar to get a drink while waiting. We didn't even get a chance to order a drink because a table was ready that quickly. We didn't order an appetizer we just went straight to the meal. My wife ordered the fish taco dinner with corn tacos and I had the ground meat tacos with flour tortillas.Well, to make a long story short, the tacos were a big disappointment. My wife said the seasoning on the grilled fish tacos was nonexistent. Whenever we order tacos she usually gets the grilled fish taco's and she said these just weren't up to snuff. As far as my tacos they were pretty bad. They were greasy and gummy, a bad combination. I don't know if it was my fault that I didn't specify corn tortillas but I thought tacos were with corn tortillas unless you asked for flour tortillas. Anyway, I couldn't even finish mine..My wife washed hers down with a beer as did I. The service was great and there's a magician who goes around the tables doing magic tricks while you're waiting for your food. We loved him. It was almost worth going just to see him. For dessert my wife ordered the flan and I the 3 milk cake. Liked the cake a lot and the flan was okay. The restaurant was recommended so highly that we'll give them another try. read more

10/10 all around AMAZING and I'm so happy I finally found good Mexican food around New Orleans ! I'm from Los Angeles so I knowwww good Mexican food and I can honestly say that New Orleans Mexican food is not it ever. This is the only spot that has hit the mark for it from the servivw food and ambience it's so cute in there it gives rainforest with the monkeys and the restroom has a barrel as the sink I also heard they have tacos Tuesday so I'm very excited to be back. Finally found a Mexican spot that is comparable and better than spots I've tried while living in Los Angeles. The look, the ambience, the smells as you enter the door set the tone for the food. The classic corridos, friendly service, and chango borrachos hanging from the light fixtures make the food taste even better. I ordered the costilla de la cazuela and I would get it again for sure. The staff and waiters were super friendly! Service was pretty quick considering they're usually pretty busy on weekends. The pictures on social media brought me here--great photos online, for sure! The décor was amazing, but I do have one recommendation: the bar seats are too low compared to the height of the bar, making them pretty awkward and uncomfortable. Because of this, I moved from the bar to a table to finish my visit. As for the drinks, the margaritas left a bit to be desired, but the tacos were amazing--especially the birria tacos! I did have a rather questionable exchange with my server. I asked how the watermelon margarita was made--whether with fresh muddled watermelon or manufactured purée. She assured me that watermelons were delivered daily for a fresh experience. However, once I received my drink, I could tell instantly that it wasn't fresh watermelon. When I asked for a refund due to the misleading information, she refused. So, I went to the manager, who happened to be working the bar, and asked him the same question. Without hesitation, he pulled out a bottle of watermelon purée. After explaining what happened, he seemed a bit aggravated but ultimately voided the drink and made me a replacement at the normal price. Very interesting, to say the least. Came in for taco Tuesday! This place took over the old El Patron location. They renovated the inside and the decor is super cute. When you're seated, they'll bring you chips and salsa. 5 tacos for $7. You can choose any of the meats aside from steak. Comes with cilantro and onion on corn tortilla. You can ask for flour for an additional $2. I ordered the Lengua, carne asada, and al pastor. All three were really good. Carne asada was tender. Al pastor was flavorful. Lengua was perfect. We also got a burrito and it comes with fries. It was huge and really filling. Their salsa verde was my favorite out of all the salsas they have. Nice and spicyyyy. read more

My aunt and I love a good Mexican food date. She mentioned this "new spot" and I was all for it. The wait wasn't too bad...my 1 year old was just a little antsy. lol We were seated and I ordered a large margarita. The girlies love a margarita (it's me, I'm girlies! lol). I didn't realize how large the large would be, but it was very tasty and I was up to the challenge of trying to finish it. I let my aunt take a few sips to help. lol. For an appetizer, I got the chorizo queso...it came out after my entree, I almost thought they forgot about it. I was not your normal queso. When I think queso, I automatically think a smoother creamier cheese sauce. I seemed as if it were just some melted cheese with a little chorizo on top. Great presentation though. Which leads me to, I think they are big on presentation and not so much taste. Everything is picture perfect but to me the taste was just okay. My quesadilla was not cut like they normally are to easily eat, had to cut it myself or eat it like a big taco. lol but it was okay too. My aunt had these huge ribs that she thought were really good and tender. It's a nice spot, and the service was good and fast, but maybe I just need to try something else. Love this spot! The ambiance is cute, the food is delicious and the drinks are great. I'm not sure how often they have live music but there was a mariachi band when I went one weekend and there was a band playing outdoors when I went on a Wednesday night. The only downside is the parking. You can't park in the main area where the other stores are located. read more

My fav was the premium margarita regular because I'm not huge on sweet drinks, the pomegranate margarita was too sweet for me as was the pineapple jalapeño and it wasn't spicy at all. Came here with some friends yesterday and ordered a couple of dishes. We started with some water, sweet tea, and a Mexican coke bottle. They were out of coke on their fountain gun but failed to mention that the bottle would be $4. It's owned by the same owners as El Patron. It's a lot nicer than El Patron and gives a more upscale Mexican dining experience as well as prices. Ordered the cheese dip and was disappointed that it was yellow cheese like nacho cheese dip... we ordered steak fajitas, fajitas with steak, Diablo shrimp, and chorizo as well as enchiladas that served with a beef rib. The beef rib was dry and had little to no flavor. I don't remember the last time I was inspired to leave a positive review but I have felt the need to tell everyone about this place since I went yesterday. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great. Stylish and comfortable. And even plenty of TVs if you care to keep up with sports or news while you dine. The staff was amazing and really attentive. We went around 3pm so it wasn't super busy. Our food came out really fast. I was so surprised and everything was so fresh and amazing. I decided to get the Arrachera Tacos and I was not disappointed. Three huge tacos that came with bone marrow topped with guacamole and chorizo and rice and beans on the side. You decided how your steak is cooked and let me tell you they get it right and they do not skimp on the meat. I was pleasantly surprised for the price point of the dish which was $17.99. The beans were not regular by any means. They had meat in them which was a first for me but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The only thing that I would say is that they were pretty busy, we ordered queso and got that first but they didn't bring chips until about 10 minutes later. I thought this was going to be a bad sign, but the queso stayed warm until the chips came (server was apologetic so I guess it was a kitchen issue) But when everything else came - I was blown away. The meats were seasoned perfectly. The ribeye tacos with bone marrow were to die for. Probably the best meat tacos I've ever had. Even the beans and the Spanish rice were good. Love the service, food, atmosphere and never had a bad experience. The steak fajitas are awesome and the table chips and salsa are great too. I've had Unsweet tea and margaritas before and they were very good also. I have been at Noon and although there are plenty of cars in the parking lot, there were many empty tables. Sometimes only 3-4 tables with people eating. Not sure why? Especially if you tell them that you only have an hour or so for lunch, they will definitely get your food out extra fast. read more
