Stopped by Taqueria Azteca and got the Asada Quesadilla. Portion was solid, and it came with rice and beans, which helped make the $13 price feel a bit more reasonable. If I could give zero stars, I would. I went in for tacos, and the lady at the register who was also making tortas saw me walk in, and completely ignored me. She handed a to go order to another customer and kept working on another order without a single greeting, she kept on going about her business as if I wasn't even there. 99 cent Tacos on Tuesdays & Thursdays. No one does that anymore not even the 99cent Store which all have closed down. Look its not a lot of meet but it's what I expect when I pay 99cents. Sometime I pay $3-$4 a taco and get 99cent amount of meat. Today Thursday at 5pm they ran out of carne asada meat...cry. Get here early to get the deal and the meats. I have been here a few times and everytime they do not have a certain meat available. Taco Tuesdays here seems like false advertisement, because the tacos are much smaller and it does not say that on the huge sign outside the restaurant. Seems like on Tuesdays they use street taco tortillas, which are smaller, instead of the ones they use other days. Also, they do not pay attention to the meat, because on a couple of chicken tacos there were bones in them. I can see why the tacos are .99 cents on Tuesdays, there is just rush to get the tacos out. The place was not even packed when this happened. NOT the best place to go for Taco Tuesday! Hardly any meat in the tacos and food is expensive as well. Plus, during the morning shift, there is a rude cook (light skin guy), who might be the manager. This is sad, because there are not many taco places close to this restaurant to choose from, which is why they might think in a, "Hey, this is how we are!" type of attitude. I know it was just street tacos, but the flavor of their meat is just so delicious when compared to their places. Working down the street, so we decided to try this out. First 2 times, the lady of the restaurant got our order down and gave us our food right away. The last time we went, it was someone younger (maybe her daughter). We didn't get our food after a certain time, and to top it off, the food was just sitting there waiting to be served out. You can have it with or without grano, with or without pata. They give you an enormous amount of meat. You get about 5 flour tortillas with your meal. You can a small or large.bowl. I gave them a star cuz I had to. Please DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! Me and my family had beans and rice burritos and we were all so sick. We got food poisoning probably from the beans. Mind you, we eat mexican food all the time and I have a strong stomach for most food. My son is 7 and daughter is 5 and they were the worst. My son won't even eat beans anymore because he is so traumatized. When I called and told them the manager was supposed to call me back and never did. I'm always looking for good authentic Mexican food. In my opinion, you can usually tell how good a Mexican joint is by tasting their carne asada. I should have stuck with the norm. and ordered a burrito but decided on the torta. When I saw them make my torta, I was a bit surprised by the way they made it. When I was standing there paying I had noticed a bread bun sitting on this flat toaster behind the lady at the register. It was exposed just sitting there. After I ordered my torta it seemed as thought they piled a pre made mixture of the meat, lettuce, tomato and other ingredients on to this bread bun that was sitting there. Then they put the other half of the bun on top and toasted it with a flat pan of some sort (don't know the name). I thought that was pretty gross since my assumption was that the meat was inside already. After, they put it on the pan and cooked it for a few minutes. I was hoping that the meat was already cooked and warm, THEN it would go onto my torta, but I don't think that was the case. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe there's something I missed while they made it, but ultimately the torta ended up tasting pretty average.
