I've enjoyed their aguas frescas with their carne asada and al pastor tacos. I usually order their 3 Taco Combo as it comes with a drink, fluffy rice, and beans with cheese. Someone recently told me that Tuxie's makes great burritos, so I dropped in to check it out. I was just in the mood for something simple, so I ordered a bean and cheese burrito. The burrito was huge, with good beans and plenty of white cheese. The green salsa I ordered was especially tasty, with very herbal notes of oregano. It added a great flavor to the basic ingredients of the burrito. The only odd thing was that, although they call themselves Tuxie's Juices, there was no fresh juice. It was crossed out and marked "not available" on the picture on the wall. I should have asked if that was a permanent change. Tuxie's is a tiny vintage drive in, with picnic bench type tables on the patio. The staff are very friendly, and the service is quick. You can call in a phone order if you are in a hurry. When I was a kid, Tuxie's was the neighborhood burger joint where all the teenagers hung out. Although the food has changed along with the ownership, I'm glad to see that the name still stands for delicious food. I'll be back when I get a taste for something more savory. My favorite taco place because of the guac sauce and the flavoring of the meats and the tortilla was crispy and soft! I have been coming here for 16 years and it has stayed consistently delicious this whole time :0) The staff are friendly as well! I loooove their smoothies (but finally found out there is milk in there and that is why my stomach is destroyed every time)!!! They have the most delicious taste. The strawberry is my favorite! They charge .75 to use your card as a payment and then they charge for any extra salsa. How do you know which salsa you prefer when you can't get one extra one of the other one to try. Maybe they should consider putting their salsa in smaller containers so that you can have the opportunity to try both of their salsa. read more

It's been years and I came back to get a carne asada quesadilla and it's still as delicious as I remember. When you get it with everything, they stuff it all inside the quesadilla so I recommend eating this thing quick before it gets soggy. 4.5 stars!! Tuxies is super yummylicious!! If you're in the Riverside area, don't sleep on Tuxies. Their carne asada tacos are freaking delicious - the meat is marinated in a slightly sweeter sauce than I'm used to, but not OVERLY sweet. The quality of the carne asada is on point - you can tell on every bite that it's got the bounce to the meat but it's not overly chewy or tough. The tortillas are very moist and almost a tad too oily but maybe that's what made them taste so damn fresh and good. I ask for extra red salsa on the side because I love my tacos drenched in a good salsa. The red salsa is spicy-ish (maybe 6 out of 10 spicy); the taste and consistency is really good but I wish it was spicier. This place would be 5 stars if they had a spicier salsa - that would be the cherry on top! If management is reading this - please add a habanero salsa to your options! Will be back for more! Not necessarily the cheapest spot, but the delicious tacos are worth it! I've seen this place in Riverside for years but never stopped by until today. I went with the super nachos with everything but beans on it, and then the strawberry icee. I loved the icee.. tasted more like a smoothie than a slushy. Everything that came on the nachos was good. The only disappointment was that the chips got really soggy really fast. I don't know if it's because they use both nacho cheese sauce and regular shredded cheese, but most of the chips was just a soggy mess. I would give them 3 stars if it wasnt for the friendly service. beware: its saddens me this place used to be my favorite. not only has the quality of food gone down but the portions are so much smaller and yet the prices gone up. they charge for every single item it you order a burrito that comes with guacamole but ask for it on the side they charge you extra to put on the side, really who does that.
