Wow mi Lindo Apatzongan! I was pleasantly surprised as a person born in Michoacan! The Chilaquiles Michoacanos were crispy, saucy and delicious. But their Aporreadillo left me speechless. Perfect meat scrambled with eggs,drenched in a spicy bold red sauce that had just the right amount of heat. Beans and rice were solid. Camarones Empanizados came with a spicy mayo sauce that had me asking for more. The Horchata was perfect as it was not too sweet and it just hit perfectly after every bite. First time here, wanted to love it but my expectations were too high. The food was great. Tasted like authentic Michoacan plates. We first got there it took like 5 mins to someone to even sit us down. This waitress finally sat us down, I had a stroller so ofc we asked for a table and not a booth. We were tryna figure out how to set the stroller so it wouldn't be in anyone's way. Here comes the waitress with highlights, saying with an attitude "you can't put the stroller there it blocks the way " like we were tryna figure it out I'm a first time mom and this is why I hesitate to eat out. She removed the chair and looked so irritated so I asked my husband to switch the bassinet and put in the car seat in the stroller instead. My poor baby couldn't even napped comfortably. Then comes this other waitress with black hair and she was attentive to all our requests and did it so nicely. Really small place as well. Well while we're eating the women with highlights comes to the table and takes the salsa matcha and says it's not supposed to be for these plates basically and Walks away. Like what if we like it? First off, where has this place been hiding?! Seriously I have driven back and forth on Magnolia a ton of times and never spotted this little hole in the wall place. Very small lot, handicap spots in the front and then regular spots hidden in the back. Friends and I walked inside, waitress behind the counter told us to grab a seat - we picked a nice booth/chair table combo. We got a chorizo breakfast burrito, chile verde con huevos, chilaquiles w/ rice instead of beans (which it says only beans on menu but they are nice to accommodate!) and a kids chicken tender meal. This place is hopping busy with locals on a rainy Saturday morning! Our house was full of people so Mrs. Yelper decided to import some Chow for breakfast. I went for lunch with my wife after raving about the Chile rellenos for weeks. I had eaten the perfect one when a group of us went weeks earlier. This day and not a busy day the food was disappointing. The chile was not cooked. It was hot enough to melt the cheese inside but otherwise it was raw. Crunchy, hard to cut or chew. Hard to explain the disappointment and embarrassment to my wife. Even the enchilada had a sweet sauce that wasn't savory or interesting. I still give four stars because the food has been so good in the past. I waited to send this review, hoping I might find better words to describe my experience.
