This neighborhood gem offers an industrialized minimalist form of decor with pops of color and art. Cozy but roomy, the bar area had mostly 2 seater tables and a few with high chairs. We recently went for a birthday brunch. Restaurant Week was still in effect but we decided to choose from the regular brunch menu. Place was low key and giving neighborhood vibes. The service was 10 STARS! Our waitress was extremely attentive and kind. We were also checked on by a second staff member who I think may have been a manager but cannot be certain. We started with cocktails and they serve chips and salsa gratis. I had the Jalapeno and Hibiscus Margarita and my friend ordered the Pepper Margarita with Strawberry and Chipotle. Mine was a bit on the sweet side without a hint of tequila. My friend's drink definitely was the better of the two. Not overly sweet and definitely a flavor of tequila was present. We also ordered a guacamole. I must say it was quite small and barely served 2 people. I suggest if more than 2 guests are part of the experience, order more than one. For my entree, I requested a market salad and 2 veggie tacos with a side of birria consume. Salad was very fresh and I am sure was made to order as opposed to premade a week prior and waiting in a fridge to be served. My tacos were average but satisfying. The consume was a bit disappointing as it was more of a water/broth based and not of a typical gravy consistency. It was not exciting. My friend's entree was the highlight of the experience. She had the brisket quesadilla. Never have I seen a quesadilla with a crispy outside such as this. A culinary masterpiece indeed. She consumed it all and not one complaint afterward. Delish. We did receive a complimentary Churro plate for the birthday celebration. They were drizzled with caramel and berries. Served warm, they were a dream for the palate. I did use the bathroom which was a single stall. It was clean enough but not well lit. The biggest downfall of my experience was the temperature of the restaurant. I understand it is summer, however, there was no A/C and the inside was extremely hot. I sweated through my entire experience. Even the bathroom felt like 100 degrees. We did not complain but our waitress noticed and brough a fan out to circulate the air. They do have ceiling fans but honestly I did not feel them. The management/owner should consider more temperature control methods during the hotter months as it was quite uncomfortable. To sum it up, I thought this experience was mostly positive and would patronize it again.

I always ask for my quesadilla to be cut in half, and they remember every time. I even once called in an order without giving my name, and when I showed up they recognized my voice, had everything ready, and still confirmed I wanted it cut in half. That's the kind of service you don't really get anywhere else. Beyond the quesadilla, I highly recommend their grilled sandwiches. They're definitely indulgent -- buttery, grilled, and super filling -- but worth it every time. You can call ahead and your order is usually ready in about 10 minutes, which makes it super convenient. I also always get either the horchata or Jamaica agua fresca, and the homemade tres leches cake is a must if you want something sweet after. A healthy mix of all toppings, plus we added delicious carne asada meat on top. Sharing would have been perfect with this, but we weren't given small plates so my friends kept dropping food on the table, and sometimes on their pants since the outside tables were slats of wood. I still think this was a great starter. For our mains, I ordered a chorizo taco, my partner had his very first torta (Chicken à la Milanesa), and my friends ordered an Al Pastor enchilada, a chicken tostada, and a fish taco. We also ordered a plate of plain fries that were soo good. The kind that are somewhat thin and all crispy and perfectly salted mmmm. My taco was proper and perfect. They didn't skimp on any ingredients. We were also really impressed with the torta, especially how tasty and fresh the bread tasted. However, the two workers responded with attitude, went on to gaslight me, and tried to convince me that the chicken was cooked WITHOUT EVEN EXAMINING THE CHICKEN I BROUGHT OVER TO THEM. The female worker said, "actually our chicken is cooked three times" and went on to explain the whole process. They could've simply observed the chicken I brought over to them, but instead they approached my concern with a nasty attitude and did not offer no solution. What a great way to run a business . I only took 1 bite and threw the rest away. I was not offered a refund, an exchange for something else, or an apology; just nasty attitudes from both workers and gaslighting. This wasn't the first time I ordered chicken tacos from them, and I never had a problem with the quality until now. Very disappointed to even have to come on here and write this review. I have attached photos as proof. Will no longer be bringing family and friends to this place.
