We were starving so none of the tapas survived the picture taking phase lol, we ordered a pita and hummus which was unfortunately too hard to finish, I recently had a surgery on my teeth so I'll attribute it to that, we got the pollo tacos and the meat was delicious but the portion of guac was probably too small, croquettes were also very good. Service was good as well, waiters were very on top of all of their guests, the ambiance was dimly lit which only aided in our sangria pitcher finishing process. maybe im picky with my 5 stars but the food just couldve been a bit better. read more

After getting disappointed by several horrid meals, I googled tapas and this place came up with great reviews. It's tucked away from the maddening crowd - even better. The Sangria is delicious! I went from a glass to a pint in the blink of an eye. The food, I tried a number of dishes BUT the STAR of the show are the Fried Anchovies with garlic and herbs...I came back two nights in a row just for this dish. They are crispy, flavorful and they are generous with the portion. My second visit (the very next evening) I ordered one of their home made desserts - Pistachio Tiramisu. You know when you visit a place you liked years ago, and you come back for a visit five years later worried that it couldn't possibly be the same? It's been five years since we were last in Barcelona and for this trip, we partially based where to stay overnight on how close is it to this tapas place. There might be better places in Barcelona, but this place suits me just fine. We started with a carafe of sangria and had three tapas and bread. The potato's were like flash fried with just the right seasoning. The sauce reminds me of a spicy sour cream. The meatballs were so tender and bite size of wonderful. The assorted meats and cheeses weren't quite so assorted by my estimate, but maybe the season warranted the selection. There was some obviously local honey to dip things in. So glad that I trusted my memory of where this place and what fun it was. Service was friendly and the cost was reasonable. The atmosphere invoked images of your local bar. read more

One of the best meals we had in Barcelona. Quaint neighborhood joint that seems to attract a lot of locals. The restaurant is small and was completely full when we came at 7pm on a Monday but we luckily snagged the last table, without having made a reservation. We ordered the sangria, stuffed mushrooms, pork cheek, and octopus. everything was delicious. There are a lot of great restaurants in Barcelona, but this isn't one. Simply, the food was poor. We garlic shrimp dish we ordered tasted off....like the shrimp were really old. I washed my hands after taking the shell off of one because it smelled that bad. The patatas bravas and bread with tomato should be layups in a Spanish restaurant, but these weren't great either. Maybe they were having a bad night but I wouldn't go again, or recommend anyone else go either. read more

For our last dinner in Barcelona, we decided to come here and boy it did not disappoint. This place is a hidden gem, beautifully decorated, quaint and unpretentious. The servers Fabio and Maximo were so attentive and so helpful. I love Taps! The place is super cute and the atmosphere very charming. The food is excellent, and so far I have liked everything I have ordered. Everything is fresh and high-quality so things are usually cooked in a simple yet delicious way. I am vegetarian so I have never tried the non-veggie options, but this last time I went with a friend and she loved the albondigas and the gambas. Ah, and the best part is the staff. The two owners are always there making sure everything is great, and the rest of the staff are also professional and accommodatting. We felt this had the best overall tapas of our trip - each dish was prepared simply, yet beautifully, and fully delivered. The jamon Iberico was sliced thin and exploded with the spectrum of enjoyment that such a high quality product should. The pan con tamate was the most delicious one I had on our trip with juicey tomatoes, rich oil, and a hint of salt. The meatballs were tender yet dense, and soaked up the flavorful sauce. We showed up and there was someone standing in the doorway. He let us know it would be about 10 minutes. I'm glad we waited. The place is small but so delicious. Amazing tapas and friendly staff. Truly the beat tapas we've had in Barcelona. The patatas bravas had the right amount of spice with a touch of a garlic aioli and were crunchy yet soft in the middle. The seasonal roasted mushrooms were spectacular as were the roasted asparagus. The meatballs with TAPS special sauce were so damn good we ordered a second serving. The cheese boards with assorted sausages and jamón was divine. Vino tinto and blanco were delicious and refreshing. Ham Croquettes and Patata Tortilla were also really good. What a hidden gem! TAPS is hidden in a quiet street next to the museum, and it was nice without all busy street activity for once. Our server was very friendly and attentive.
