Sazerac at the top of the menu? Somebody gets it.

Stopped in here for a quick cocktail while waiting for friends and we ended staying for dinner. Great drinks, friendly bartenders and food was what you'd hope for in a modern establishment. Meaning it was a well thought menu and the quality was there. The ambiance was good for a date night and I'll likely go back with my wife.

I've wanted to stop in here for quite some time. I was not disappointed! This is a very well thought out restaurant -- From the concept, to the interior, the drinks and obviously the delicious food. There are very few farm to table places that wow me with their dishes. These are transformative and artful. The Halibut was the shining star, paired with a beautifully executed Beurre Blanc and a medley of vegetables that are both warm and fresh. The sweet peppery basil was an amazing touch as a garnish. Nothing clashed. The shishitos however did not hit the mark for me. I was hoping to get a bit more flavor in the dish but the yogurt kind of overwhelmed everything else. The yuzu bar was very simple and tasty. Definitely worth a try if you want a GF dessert or something that isn't sickeningly sweet. Lastly, the peacock was delicious. Jamaican rum + coconut washed Campari = a delightfully bittersweet concoction. I would have had a few more but the bartender seemed a bit overwhelmed as it was a busy Saturday so the drink service lacked a bit. This did not affect my amazing experience and I will definitely return next time I'm out in SoNo. The takeaway: This is a must try. There aren't enough people talking about this place! Amazing food and drinks at fair prices.

I can't believe we had this dinner in SoNo tonight - my taste buds are shocked and pleasantly satiated! The food here keeps getting better - our second visit, the first when still operating under Bruxelles name but with this "new" menu. The sourdough can't be missed, the cocktails so posh and the foie with balsamic and strawberries was divine (sorry no photo). The pork skewer was so amazingly tender - little pillows of jowly goodness. Both duck and scallop entrees were the perfect portions, flavor and cook. Dessert was absolutely incredible - almost erupted in a literal fistfight with my husband over the last tasty morsels. This was the best Tuesday in years ... thank you Taproot!

OMG! Loved this meal. Came to celebrate a friend's birthday (in a snowstorm) but soooooo worth it! Great craft cocktails Great apps. Great food all around (especially the shrimp and grits and gnocchi and mushrooms!!!). Hats off to the chef. Great service too!!

What an incredible place for dinner. Amazing cocktails, unbelievable food, and the service at the bar and table were both top notch. Chef's pairings of flavors is so inventive and unique, this meal is unlike any that I've had anywhere else. We were in with a group and just ordered a bunch of things to share, highly recommended.

This spot is a hidden gem in Bethel. Only ordered from the small plates and everything was delicious and packed with flavor. Will return to try some of their entrees.

Pork collar skewer. This melted in our mouths! The spice of the sambal and sweetness of the Carmel onions is party dancing in your mouth!

The food at Oak + Almond is consistently excellent, with large portions providing good value, and this visit was no exception. Appetizer highlights included Brussels sprouts and octopus. Entrees including wood grilled pork chops, chicken Milanese, branzino and Bucatini Allo Scoglio were all excellent. Dessert highlights were chocolate sea salt tart and gelato. My first meal was the Caesar salad, which was outstanding. The poached egg was cooked perfectly with that soft, medium‑boiled center I love. The Parmesan was fresh, the dressing was balanced, and the grilled chicken was a generous, well‑seasoned portion. Simple, clean, and delicious. The ambience is a huge part of the charm -- a cozy, wood‑cabin feel with a great bar setup. You can get full service at the bar, enjoy top‑shelf drinks, and watch the TVs without it feeling like a sports bar. It's a comfortable mix of locals and travelers, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. Benny behind the bar was great, and he made the experience even better with fun conversation and excellent service. For dinner, I tried the pasta with sausage, which was flavorful without being overly salty. You can tell they use quality ingredients. The mussels were a standout -- the broth was clean and delicious, with a white‑wine base, a touch of tomato, fresh herbs, and just the right kick from jalapeño. One of the best mussel dishes I've had in a while. The wine selection was also very good and paired nicely with the dishes I tried. After several meals back‑to‑back, I can confidently say this place delivers every time. Great food, great service, great vibe. I'll definitely keep coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a consistently excellent dining experience

There was street parking when we got there but they also have valet and some self parking in the back. As we walked in, the ladies at the host stand were so warm and inviting. They were also the cutest ever. They encouraged us to sit out on the patio versus the bar so we headed upstairs. Our waitress came over with menus and it went downhill from there. She was so inattentive that we had to ask the other waiter for things we needed. He was engaging, checked on us and we even chatted about his Jordanian heritage and my trip there back in December. Our actual waitress, however, checked on the table next to us 6 times (yes I counted) in between her checking on us. Even when I ordered a mocktail, I guess they didn't have the one I wanted so she brought me an entirely different drink without asking me. Then got upset when I didn't want it. The absolute audacity. As far as the food, we got the crab cake, lamb, whipped mashed potatoes and the bread. The food was good but the bread took it to another level. It should have been complimentary though but that's neither here nor there. Overall, loved the experience but wish we had another waitress. She didn't even acknowledge my friend's birthday. Sigh.

After doing a little research, I came across The Wheel, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. I made a reservation for Sunday brunch. Finding the entrance was a little confusing at first, and parking took a minute to figure out, but I eventually learned you can park for free at the Village next door, which made things much easier. Once I arrived, I was immediately greeted and shown to the outdoor seating area. Walking through the restaurant, I was impressed by how beautiful the property is. It is incredibly spacious, sits right on the water, and even has an additional outdoor area next door where you can relax away from the restaurant. The views alone make this place worth visiting. Our server, Freddy, was fantastic. He was friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the menu, answer questions, and offer recommendations, which made the experience even better. Now onto the food. To start, we shared the Breakfast Pizza, topped with smoked bacon, crispy potatoes, roasted garlic, mozzarella, two eggs, and fresh cracked black pepper. It was a fun twist on brunch and had great flavor. We also ordered the Shrimp and Grits, made with cheddar grits, wild caught shrimp, a poached egg, and chimichurri. Rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich looked outstanding. Made with organic Murray's chicken, hot honey, coleslaw, and dill pickles, it came with fries and disappeared quickly. For my entrée, I ordered the Steak and Eggs, featuring grilled hanger steak, two eggs, breakfast potatoes, and chimichurri. The steak had excellent flavor, although I ordered it medium and it came out closer to well done. It was my only real issue with the meal. We also tried a couple of cocktails. The Orange Crush was refreshing and perfect for brunch, while the bourbon, Aperol, peach, Earl Grey, and lemon cocktail was smooth, balanced, and equally enjoyable. Dessert was the perfect ending. The Take 5 Sundae with peanut butter crunch, pretzels, whipped cream, vanilla bean caramel, chocolate ice cream, and hot fudge was absolutely delicious. We also had the Tres Leches, topped with strawberries and vanilla whipped cream, which was light, moist, and a great way to finish the meal. Overall, everything we ordered was delicious. Aside from the slightly confusing entrance, parking, and my overcooked steak, the entire experience was outstanding. The waterfront setting, excellent service, beautiful atmosphere, and quality food make this one of the best brunch spots in Stamford. I will definitely be back. Next time I already have my eye on the Banana Buttermilk Bread, Village Breakfast, Braised Short Rib Hash, Wheel House Burger, Margherita Pizza, Smoked Salmon Pizza, and the Crispy Chicken Sandwich for myself. For drinks, I want to try the Charred Citrus, One in a Melon, and the Orange Crush. And I definitely need to save room for the Vanilla Bean Cheesecake.

Favorite dish selections per voting of the table, were the brussel sprouts (~$20), calamari (~$20), and NY strip (~$50) specifically because of the tallow fried rice that laid underneath the steak! Although we enjoyed the quality and quantity of food, the service was quite slow. Our waitstaff didn't come by very often to take drink orders, refill water glasses, or follow up. It didn't seem too busy that evening, so we were a bit surprised. We stayed in the dining room on this trip, but hope to come back for a nice evening when the outside patio area is available.
