Boba!!!! It's great! I recommend the Chocolate or Mango Snow Bubble with Boba. It's worth less than $4. If you want snacks, I recommend getting some Cheese Wontons. Although I recommend just having a meal in one of the nearby restaurants like Tofu House, then head to TapEx for some boba fixing. Of course, like Tofu House, the parking in this plaza is a nightmare. Patience, my friend. You will reap the reward with great boba. If you can find parking, just park in the street and just walk to get here. It can be dark out in the street though. The ambiance is good for teenagers to college students to young professionals. The interior design is designed to look hip to its younger clientele. Although boba is not just enjoyed by the young. My parents like Boba too so they also go with me sometimes. Parking is a nightmare. There are too many businesses sharing too few parking spaces. The food here is not bad. The spicy chicken is probably some of the best I've had in San Diego. The drinks are good, though a bit on the excessively sweet side. The service, there is none outside of taking your order. The people working here are a bit hit or miss. Sometimes they're nice and give you a smile other times they look at you like they were shooting lasers out of their eyes...PEW PEW. The perfect meal: crispy chicken meal (mild) with a strawberry coconut snow bubble! I also go a few shops down to Tofu House to get cucumber kimchi. It complements the meal so well. This is the hangout for High Schoolers and college students, so I sometimes feel out of place. That won't stop me from getting crispy chicken though! Nor wil the korean pop music videos deter me! This place is very chill to hang out and talk and just kind of relax with your friends. They are open til midnight so it's really cool especially when you're craving for Boba and some spicy chicken or calamari. I love this place because it's just an ordinary spicy chicken i love the combination of that and rice over veggies and eggs it's really creative and also, they have a tons of selection to the boba flavors so that's neat, but I have to agree to one of the review down there that it quite dirty especially the bathroom it's doesnt seem sanitize enough and even the tables as well. My first time here was last night, I parked on the street because of the reviews and appreciate my car. Walked there I got here around 11PM and it was busy, although it was busy there were places to sit but the tables were dirty and I guess if you wanted to sit you would have to clean it yourself. Cashiers were nice, I ordered the Taro snow bubble with boba and my bro got the avocado snow bubble with boba wait time was like 5 min. My Taro wasn't that sweet it was light and as soon as the ice began to melt the Taro flavor was gone, my bros avocado tasted like if he was actually drinking avocado it was a bit too intense for him so he didn't finish it. However the boba was cooked to perfection, only reason it didn't get 5 stars was because of the cleanliness and the Taro sweetness level. I usually come here when I'm on my way to Fashion Valley or craving other foods in the Convoy area. They're always packed but I love how quick and efficient they are. You never have to stand in line that long, and the wait for your drinks is very speedy as well! The milk tea flavors I've tried and loved here are the milk tea, chocolate milk tea, and jasmine milk tea! and the best part they don't put TONS of ice like other places! God I don't know why I keep giving this place a second (or third, or fourth) chance. Stopped by again today after lunch at Tofu House, and almost immediately I regretted not making the extra drive to Teastation. They again got my orders wrong. Too sweet drinks after I repeatedly asked for less sugar in them. Put milk in my tea after I repeated my order 3 times. Instead of trying to rectify the wrong order, the girl just turned around and went into the kitchen. This place still, hands down, has the best boba drinks I've ever had. Their multitude of drink options will blow you away in freshness and flavor. Their boba is always just right in chewiness and density. And of course, their snacks are out of this world good! I recommend trying the calamari. Tap Ex? Most definitely the hot spot for Asian young-ins, that's for sure. First off, those who go at night/weekends (also the most crowded/loudest times to go) will notice that some people make their own parking spots in the already-small-enough-as-it-is parking lot. During the day, the place is pretty empty and they usually play the radio overhead. At night is when you get a chance to hear the Asian pop songs (so far I've heard Chinese and Korean).. depending on who's working. For drinks, 80% of my various milk tea selections were a go and the "snows" were hit or miss .. except for the mocha, my first fave there. So the reason why I'd drive all the way out to Tap Ex than to any other boba place I've been to.. is their crispy chicken snack (not the meal.) The rice and egg and veggies that come in the meal tastes like I could make it at home via microwave. I'm not an avid spicy foods eater either (haha) but I can't help ordering the chicken spicy (vs. mild & medium) with some buttermilk ranch dip. I think a lot of people are right about the boba/drinks not standing out compared to other places .. but I'll say the kicker for this one is that they have restrooms inside! Not nonexistent and not around the corner & having to ask for the key .. just a few feet away from ordering at the register.... which reminds me .. If ever a time comes that you pay for your order with a credit card & their register freezes up during transaction, make sure it doesn't double charge you even though they tell you "it didn't go through." read more

So yes, the place is ridiculously loud due to the population of teens and college freshman but that is to be expected. At least they choose to spend their time playing games and joking around with their friends at tap ex than doing drugs on the street right???? haha. Anyway, I really like their drinks, especially their regular bubble green tea or black tea and my favorite the honey milk tea. Boba consistency/chewiness is pretty fantastic as well. I never used to like BOBA until I came to this place. One word: SNOWBUBBLE. For me it's a tie between the Strawberry snowbubble or the Passion Fruit Icy with BOBA. OMG it soooooo good. Not to sweet, not to sour, but juuuust RIGHT!! And the BOBA... it's softer than other BOBA I've tried. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it! It's like the high school version of what a Starbucks is to the older crowd. You'll probably see tons of kids "loitering", playing board games, and studying over BOBA. What a great concept! The workers are mostly kid's themselves but they're BOBA mixologists! How they heck do they remember all these wonderful concotions amazes me! School drool, they got a long successful career in bartending ahead of them. There are 2 things that needs work: Please open more locations! They are hella far from the downtown area!
