Hmmm, I have been here a million times and I swore I had already written a review for this Tap X but here goes nothing :) This is your standard size Tapioca Express with room for about 15-20 people inside. There are board games, a television and Wifi to help patrons enjoy their visit here. Drinks are pretty standard and this Tap X serves deep fried food snacks such as dim sum, fish ball, etc. Punch cards are also available and can be a huge money saver depending on the size of your family and the frequency of your frosty drink addiction :) Although there have been a few attempts at opening bubble tea shops in the Natomas area, this is the only shop that has stayed open. CK Cheng's is right around the corner so if you want to finish off your Chinese food meal with a Chinese desert, this is the place to come. read more

We had a mango passion fruit snow boba, and coconut. The coconut is one of our faves. The passion mango was ok. I added the mango jelly with the large boba pearls just was way too sweet. Also on a side note they don't have the best customer service. Which is alittle disappointing because they've been here for so long so I don't customer service should stop after a couple of years it's a good habit to maintain. I may try out a different spot. I like their options, but not a lot where offered at this location. It doesn't make sense to me to have a menu up when you can't offer them. An employee stated, "We don't have those, only some locations have them. And other locations may not have them but other places have them." And my response, "Ummmm.. ok. Give me a sec then, because what I wanted originally, you don't have. How about this one?" And she says, "We don't have that either." My response, "Ummm.. ok... I'll have the customer go behind me first, since I don't know what to get yet." Aside with the options available to me, I would say, how about trim down 1/2 the menu that YOU DONT OFFER, and Leave the ones up that you offer... Good location in Natomas the only real boba place in this area! It's next to many restaurants such as Bangkok garden (excellent Thai food) and CF Cheng (best Chinese food in Natomas). There is also a mountain mikes, Mel's dinner, and Kobe sushi. Tap ex has a good variety of drink selections such as snow bubble, slushy, milk tea, and coffee. They also have snacks such as the popular popcorn chicken and deep fried fish ball. However, this location does not taste as good as the tapioca express on Stockton blvd in south sac! The drinks at the south sac location taste fresher and less artificial. This is a decent sized place with board games and free wifi for your entertainment. Service is pretty good and you get a complimentary drink on your birthday. They also have stamp cards where you buy so many drinks you get one free when you fill it out completely. I don't complain because the drinks always or usually turn out fine. I ordered a Ceylon Milk Tea and whenever I ordered it, it turned out fine and good. This time, the workers looked lazy and the ice in my drink was small and it tasted watered down. In other words, watered down strong tea with little creamer. When you steam a tea and add creamer and ice, you add LOTS of ice. I never asked for any adjustments but got a watery milk tea with little ice. I used to work by this location, and this was our team's go to boba spot for lunch. Some of the snow flavors are a little too sweet for my taste (the coconut is way too sweet, which is unfortunate since I love coconut everything), but I do love the cantaloupe snow, the taro snow, and the thai tea snow. Their milk tea is one of the better ones I've had. They also have avocado snow, which takes me back to my childhood days when my Mom would make avocado shakes if we were good. This was my first time trying place. I ordered the passion fruit juice and it was delicious. My daughter ordered the passion fruit green tea and she said it was super delicious!! We both ordered the nacho cheese fries. We thought they were just gonna be fries with nacho cheese and maybe the fries seasoned. But that wasn't the case. I had my first visit at a location in Vallejo and I can understand why the place was packed. I had the Mocha Snow Bubble with Tapioca. It was refreshingly delicious. I've also tasted the Strawberry flavored Snow Bubble and Icy... now I'm addicted and must try the other flavors offered on their menu board. They also serve coffee and tea varieties. On their menu are also snacks that come in optional combo items. Ones I remembered seeing in the menu on the wall was crispy chicken, fried calamari, potstickers, crispy squid, tempura, fried tofu, and other Asian-themed finger foods. The drinks are very sweet with no option to reduce sweetness like competitive chains Quickly and T4 offer. I've been to this location since they've first opened. This will be my first review for them... I needed a light snack before a late dinner. So, what came to mind? Crunchy crispy chicken! I love those little tasty morsels! Let me tell you my experience with these devilish snacks... It is always a hit and miss if they'll make it or not. Somedays they have it and some days they don't. I make special trips here to get them. You don't know how many times I've come here and they've said they're all out. I know...I never learned, should of called ahead! But today, they made me an angry customer! I drove and made a special trip, yet again to get their crispy chicken and was told they don't have it. I was like..."Do you guys make it on certain days"? The guy then told me that they do have it on most days, but..."it's tedious to make them"...WHAT?!!! So...you're telling me this item that is on the menu everyday doesn't get made unless you guys feel like it?!!! Unheard of!!! I've never been to a place that has this kind of service! Do you want my money or not?! Doesn't seem like they care. This place is always run by teenagers, so you know what kind of service you get. There's nothing really wrong with tap ex! It's a nice chain where you can grab some boba, study for a minute if you'd like. The taro milk tea is one of the best though. The taro powder, fructose, creamer, and add some tapioca... something about their mix makes it super duper creamy and good :)... I def come here for that one. I also tried the Hong king milk tea which is made of a strong black tea, evaporated milk, and fructose. Very interesting flavor, more unique. Reminds me of an "old time" milk tea. The hot weather makes me want to jump into a pool of smoothie. Ugh! This is the only Boba place within the complex. Might as well try it. The place is spacious and clean. They have few tables and chairs. The interior is a bit disorganized. I don't know what vibe they are going for. They will definitely need to hire an interior designer to upgrade the style or at least have a style most especially that it is a chill place. You will be welcomed by a variety of drinks they offer. Milk tea, Tea, Snow Bubble, Icy, Juice, Soda, Coffee. Name it! They have it on the board. They have snacks to partner your drinks too. I ordered the Watermelon Icy with Tapioca which is the drink for the day and it did not disappoint. You can really taste the watermelon and it blends well with the Tapioca. It doesn't taste artificial like some flavorings. It is so refreshing! We stayed there for awhile to cool off. There was a long line at some point but they were able to make the orders really fast. Located next to Maestro Coffee in a stripmall, this Tapioca Express seems to have more drink options on the menu rather than food. They have a frequent buyers card and you never have to wait too long for your drink. Their boba teas are consistent with tapioca pearls being the right texture. A small comes to about $3.35 with tax or so. Noticed interesting little signs posted throughout like "Don't play with the skewers!" and "Don't touch this water, it's poisonous!" (it's posted close to their water fountain). Makes me wonder what kind of clientele they must get. Whenever I drop by, it's full of professionals and workers in the area who are getting their boba drink quota for the day.
