My aunt told me this is the only boba tea place in Salinas so that explained the constant line and crowd. The owners should look into either hiring more workers or streamlining their process. Since we beat the rush we didn't wait long for our drinks but I would advise against ordering a crepe. It should take 45 seconds at the fastest and 5 minutes at the slowest to make a crepe, depending on how hot the griddle is and how thick the batter is - but it took almost 20 minutes here. Say whhhhat? I think the workers forgot about the crepe until we were almost done with our drinks and the crepe was cold when we got it. After we got our drinks the cashier kept saying "thank you for waiting" to everyone behind us so I'm thinking all the orders got pushed back. The cashier was friendly and there are some toys for kids to play with while there. Otherwise I thought the place was sparse and plainly decorated. If the place were decorated better but especially if the service was more efficient it would be worth 4 stars, and not just because it's the only boba tea shop in the area. read more

Drinks are made out of powder. Halo halo. They use vanilla ice cream Instead of specialty Filipino ones. They made my halo halo with regular milk not evaporated like I'm used to... Beans sugar palm jelly (kaong) coconut jelly (nata de coco) ice milk ice cream topped with jackfruit. Where's the leche flan? Where's the Filipino banana (saba) where's the coconut strips. I've been to Tapioca about three times now. Last two times We got the Coffee over ice with Boba and the orange blended with boba! Well... they discontinued the orange one so there goes that! On our last visit to Tapioca... I was eager to go because I mean it's coffee with Boba... yum!!! Let's start with the strawberry blended with boba pink disaster! It was pretty much like drinking blended water with boba... so bland... so unnecessary... so not strawberry! The drink sounded so promising yet the outcome was a nightmare! I was looking forward to my usual coffee boba! Let me Start off with saying this drink contains three ingredients: iced coffee creamer and boba! Sounds simple right !? Guess not...if I would have poured myself a glass of creamer and added some boba and a splash of coffee... I would of had the same damn taste! I just needed the coffeeee!!!!! RUDE!! Me and my entire family about 5 or 6 went in around 7 and we're told they were out of bubble tea... so we decided on changing our minds because that's what our minds were set on and on our way out an employee jumped and cheered for enjoyment of us all leaving! ! I couldn't believe it! I work in a restaurant and know what it's like when someone comes in last minute and come from a family of business owners and that is NO way for an employee to behave under any circumstances! I've been to this place a handful of times and it's been great but today the workers mixed up our order and took a long time to get us our order (about 30 min) even though there was only one other customer. The price is kind of high for powdered drinks. Every drink they make are by powder. I guess they don't really have competition so they can price it at whatever they want in the area? Compared to the Bay Area, this drinks aren't the best. Been to many boba places, usually hide their powder or don't use powder that much, however, this place just leaves the powder in the open to let everyone see that they are powder drinks. Many places I go to don't charge extra for boba either, but they do. I would only go here if I have no other choices. read more

The customer service compared to TE San Jose is awful. No greeting upon walk in, the empty tables were dirty, the music was distasteful for a family/kids joint and to make things worse is that they forgot my order. Seriously?! How can you not have the crepé pan to make crepes on? I went in & tried to order a crepe & they said it would take 30min for the pan to heat up & then after they said that they stated they didn't have one of the ingredients for the specific one I ordered. This place will probably be my go-to spot whenever I'm in town to visit old friends. They have a ton of drink choices and even crepes. I heard they used to have sushi available, but that probably didn't do as well. The place also has a "wall of friends" which consisted of pictures of customers coming in and hanging out at the cafe. Price-wise, it's higher than I'm used to (in Berkeley) and they have 2 sizes: regular and large. I'd love to try the other flavors and see if they are any better. read more

While it isn't as good as the pearl tea I had throughout Asia (which is a given), it is definetely leaps and bounds above the Chinese place by Gamestop at the mall. I love the almond slushy with boba, as well as the taro tea with boba. The crepes are pretty good too! read more

Tapioca Delight is a really good place to get delicious boba from. I come here often but I had not left a review yet. I came in today to get two boba drinks and the staff was very friendly, despite me coming in at almost closing time. They were happy to help. Worst boba I've ever tried. The tapioca tastes and feels like rubber when you chew on it. I reccomend going elsewhere, if you enjoy real quality boba. Unlike many Boba places, Tapioca Delight uses a tea base for their drinks. Personally I am not a huge fan so I always order milk based (just ask), but either way their drinks are delicious and they have a ton of flavors. If you plan to be a regular make sure to get a stamp card so you can get a free drink! I really like the red bean (ask to have it with real red beans), taro, vanilla, and mango. For boba in Salinas, this place is decent. I was disappointed that they use powder to mix their drinks though and was hesitant to try any of it. Since they use powder, I decided to order the safest flavors which are Taro and Almond with boba and it was decent but not great. I've had great boba in L.A. so my standards for boba drinks are really high. I love the fresh stuff and powder just doesn't cut it in my book. read more

It gets a plus for more variety in cuisine. One thing i do miss are the gelatos. I haven't been there in a while so im not sure if they brought it back or not. However, after moving to SJ and trying out real bubble tea instead of powder teas, I realized that this bubble tea is not that good at all. Whenever I visit Monterey, I don't have place to drink bubble tea, which is really upsetting. Also, I once tried their milk tea, which was really bad that I wouldn't recommend it.
