It was a hot day and I wanted something refreshing for lunch. I decided to go to Monky Bowl for the first time and it was a good experience. The staff were super friendly and helpful with figuring out what I wanted to order. I got a small "Power Bowl" and it was a decent size. I didn't finish all of but I did save it for later. I popped it in the freezer for a few hours and finished the rest. Definitely going back

Great service! Awesome staff. Order ahead available which is very convenient for me since I only have 30 mins of lunch

Glad that they opened another location here. Their juices are really good.. Acai bowls are very refreshing! My personal go to are the Glow Me and Vitality juice. They have a nice lounge area, although i personally have always gotten mine to-go. Fast service.

Goodness me these bowls are good. My favorite so far is Hulk green bowl. I've seen a high volume of fruits and veggies go out while waiting for my bowl so I imagine they must have an ongoing fresh supply coming in. The strawberries and bananas (the surest sign of freshness) are always of the highest quality and sweetness that I have had. I've also enjoyed several juice blend drinks here. The flavor and brightness of their juices give quite a memorable experience. They also have quite a variety of milk tea and bobas. Monkey Bowl can often be quite busy, so have patience and kindness for this hard working crew of nourishment providers. It is my experience that the goodness from here is worth the wait. Something delicious is waiting here for everyone/anyone to enjoy.

Monkey Bowl has been our go-to local juicer. They have a nice selection of juices, bowls, and other treats. When we are in the mood for Beets, the "Glow Me" is our favorite. It contains Beets, Pineapple, Green Apple, and Ginger. Definitely a pick-me-up. If you are in the area, then give them a shot!

Rather than understand that I wanted to keep the attractiveness in tact, she decided to take exception to my request. Then another employee walking past made some nasty comments about we don't even have those kind of containers. So I pointed them out in a nearby display of baking goods. Then after a lot of sneering and snideness a man came up from behind the counter to gruffly inform me that they are out of those containers and I will have to take they have. The girl knew, because I told her, that I wanted the cupcakes to remain attractive. So as she boxed them up I watched and she made a point of damaging a few. I should have told her shove them! What the hell is not understandable about wanting your carefully decorated baked goods to not get smear in the box?! Why was that so hard to understand? I have a photo of the cupcakes-- the only undamaged one in front. I'm reluctant to make any more purchases because they made it an unpleasant experience for no good reason

I ordered the chicken sandwich on their very delicious homemade brioche bun, along with a molasses cookie and a farm stand cookie. Everything was delicious. There always seemed to be a line, so plan accordingly. I arrived at 10:52 hoping to grab a breakfast burrito, but didn't make it to the front of the line until after 11. Even though I could still see breakfast items coming out of the kitchen, there is a firm cutoff. So, if you're arriving close to the transition time, don't count on squeezing in a breakfast order. And to the person who was in front of me in line and ordered the last piece of zucchini bread: consider yourself lucky you weren't tackled from behind. ;-) The stand itself has a little bit of everything: pick-your-own flowers, a grocery store, deli, salad bar, educational walks and talks, and plenty of space for families. It's definitely family-friendly, and while the kids can run a little rampant, the size and atmosphere of the place make it feel more lively than chaotic. One suggestion for the shop is to have a separate line for grocery purchases. After eating, I wanted to do some shopping, but decided I wasn't going to wait another 15 minutes in the food line just to buy a few items. A separate checkout would make the whole experience even better. All in all, it's a very good stop! It's also a dog-friendly facility, so please make sure your dogs are friendly too. During my visit, a couple had two bullmastiffs which are beautiful and big dogs, but unfortunately, those two were having a difficult time around other dogs. Whenever another dog came into view, they would bark aggressively and try to go after them. Since they were tethered to the table, the dog's frustration spilled over and they'd "jaw" at each-other. Having been raised with dogs in the house, I'm a big believer that bringing a dog into a public space comes with the responsibility of making sure those dogs are comfortable and well-socialized enough to handle the environment. In this case, the dogs were overwhelmed, and it made the experience less comfortable for the other dogs, their owners, and everyone in the yard. I certainly don't expect every dog to be perfect, but if a dog is repeatedly reacting aggressively to other dogs, it may be better for everyone to take a break from the public setting. After all, dog-friendly works best when the dogs are friendly too. To dog owners -- please be mindful of how your dogs are behaving in a shared public space. Correcting your dog when necessary is completely understandable, because sometimes a quick reminder is all they need. But if your dog requires ongoing training, discipline, or repeated correction to manage their behavior around other dogs, that's probably better handled in a setting specifically suited for training. Don't let one difficult situation take away from the experience of everyone else including well behaved dogs. And to the shop -- it's okay to step in when necessary. If a dog is repeatedly creating an uncomfortable or unsafe environment for others, asking the owners to remove the dog from the public area is a reasonable thing to do. It helps keep the venue enjoyable for everyone, including the dogs who are behaving themselves.

They did not have any blue chia pudding because no one made it that morning, they didn't have any mango chutney, AND they didn't even add granola in my bowl like the description stated. Highly disappointing. Second, I got their tropical smoothie (don't remember exact name) which has orange juice, passion, and other fruits I can't remember plus a swirl of coconut cream lined on the cup... The drink was not aesthetically pleasing. Didn't see a coconut cream swirled. The drink tasted just like straight orange juice only but blended with ice. I always go to New Leaf in Capitola on 41st Avenue whenever I visit and they've never messed up on my orders (except for once when they didn't have mango chutney either). But the drinks they've made for me and the açaí bowls were yummy and good looking. The workers at the juice/coffee/açaí bar here just seemed very lazy and I've been here 5+ times.

As you enter, you'll see the produce section, which is neat and very fresh looking. I bought a pack of avocados and each one was perfect. There are the usual market items (like meats, seafoods, chips, etc.), but few (if any) national brands. They also have some dinnerware, like bowls and such, made by local artisans. They looked really nice, and I was tempted to buy some but resisted. The star, though, is their deli. There's a good selection of premade sandwiches, salads, sushi, baked goods, and some hot food items. You can also have sandwiches made to order. They have a few "signature" sandwiches, but you can also build your own. My only small complaint is they only have vegan mayo. It's not bad, and not very noticeable, but it lacks the creaminess and flavor of real mayo. What we ordered: + Roaring Camp signature sandwich - this is turkey with cranberry relish on your choice of bread (I chose sliced sourdough). It was excellent. + Custom sandwich on sourdough roll - the roll was fantastic; slightly soft and chewy. Sandwich was excellent. + Potato salad - this was very dill heavy and a little runny (vegan mayo?), but after a few bites, it really grew on us. By the end, we were loving it. I am thrilled to be able to buy pastured chicken, pastured pork, pastured turkey, and pastured eggs…read morefrom Aurelio and Sarah, the husband and wife team that make up this small, local operation. I have purchased from them at the Sunnyvale Farmer's Market on Saturdays, from the Campbell Farmer's Market on Sundays, direct in the form of a couple bulk buys to stock my freezer, and over the years from a couple different season-long CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) pickup sites they've set up in San Jose and in Los Gatos. Buying directly from the farmer has been an educational experience for me and my family in terms of really understanding how food gets from the farm to the table. Before this, I bought the same cuts of on-sale factory farmed meat from the grocery store, failing to internalize that what those animals were fed and the living conditions in which they were raised could not possibly result in food that I would want to consume. I did not understand that "organic" or "free-range" did not mean what I would have assumed it to mean. After watching the movie "Food Inc.", I totally understand now why you ought to want to meet your farmers and have a direct relationship with them. The more I have read, the more foolish I feel to trust big corporations and the deceptive marketing they use to swindle you into believing their products are wholesome. If I could reasonably pull it off, I'd raise my own animals and grow more of my own food, but since that's not practical right now, this is the next best thing. Over time, I am learning how to use the variety of cuts that we get from the pork and how to render the fat to use in browning roasts, cooking vegetables, making pastry (for pies and samosas), and occasional frying. I use the chicken bones and carcass and now also the heads and feet to regularly make stock. (I am worried about what is in the bones of industrially-farmed animals so I regret using them for stocks before I learned about this.) And overall, we now eat less meat than we used to, being careful not to waste anything. We used to buy a $5 whole chicken, already roasted, from Costco, and now I am flabbergasted at speculating what they must do to be able to pull that off. Prior to reading about pastured animals, I was afraid of consuming animal fat. Now I am only afraid of the animal fat from industrially-farmed animals (as I'm worried about the toxins and antibiotics being concentrated in them). I'm also afraid of many vegetable oils as I've read that the processing of them likely has damaged them to the point of making them dangerous for us to consume. So I am thankful I can now render my own lard from Fiesta Farm's pork (and tallow from Morris Grassfed's beef). I respect and appreciate Sarah and Aurelio's transparency and values and am happy to support their business. I am thankful for their hard work and their commitment to doing things right. And wow, I am so grateful to live in the bay area where we have relatively easy access to nutritious real food produced with integrity.
