We decided to try TapHouse 41 for an early dinner when we arrived in Sioux Falls for a sporting event. They had open seating and at 4:30 pm on a Friday we were able to find a seat quickly to our surprise. Matt H. Was our server and did an excellent job. We had the Sliders (pictured) with sweet potato fries as well as a Cheeseburger with duck fat fries and an order of the Nachos with kettle chips. Stopped in for lunch and walked out impressed. The chicken club came with fries and it was a huge meal. Did not leave hungry, that's for sure. A friend & I stopped for a burger & drink. Stood at door for 10 minutes. Bartender said to sit anywhere. A male waiter asked if we are gonna eat. I said yes. He threw menus on table. Came back asked what we wanted to drink. I asked if they had peanut butter whiskey. He told me they were high end bourbon house & whiskey. He told me flavored whiskey was for hippies. Im old enough to be a hippy. But, I don't identify as one! He never cracked a smile. Was very rude. I didn't know you could be discriminated for asking for a hippy whiskey. There's something about a good burger. I just love finding a delicious burger with great toppings. If you like burgers and you happen to be in the Sioux Falls area you should check out Taphouse 41. We were almost fooled by the tinted windows! We thought it was closed, nope, just a bit dark. We really enjoyed our dinner here. We started out with the brussel sprouts and they were perfect, just what we wanted. I had the chicken club which was huge and delicious. My boyfriend had the Umami chicken sandwich, he really enjoyed it. We shared the duck fries. So much food, but so good. If we lived closer it would definitely be our regular spot. I brought my parents for their first visit, and they absolutely loved their burgers! Tap house 41 is known for their duck fat fries, but I'm partial to their whiskey onion rings. One of my favorite spots in town. Odd that everyone in your party has to be over 21 since it's mainly a restaurant, but as long as you know before you go, then it's alright. I do get that it's not the atmosphere for little kids running around, but 21 does seem unnecessary if a family has their 19-20 year old in tow. But they are adamant about it so just so you know! Good food, good drinks slow service and don't order the brussel sprouts. In defense of this establishment, we were there on December 22. Friday. It was noisy, but my crab cake burger was incredible and my husband loved The Q with Duck Fries. The brussel sprouts were very underdone...hard and difficult to chew. I ate one, barely. A great burger and fries at taphouse 41. I ordered a burger with cheddar, bacon, and barbecue sauce. I didn't see exactly what I wanted on the menu so I asked the server and he was more than happy to let me customize. The burger was well seasoned, and juicy. It was quite pink in the middle, which I don't mind but I know a lot of people worry about temperatures in ground beef. Just something to note. The duck fat fries were good, but a little too much Parmesan cheese on there for my taste. They were very thin, like matchsticks. But crispy and hot! My server was friendly and attentive. What a wonderful find! Feeling thirsty and excited for the large beer selection, my wife and I were tickled pink at the extensive bourbon and rye lists. Then the food: the best chicken wings we've had in ages (they're smoked *and* fried), tge best housemade ranch, and hands down the best mushroom burger I've ever eaten. Conveniently located a half mile from my hotel, gave this place a try on advice from a bartender at a downtown brewery. Sat at the bar and was greeted by a friendly bartender. Decent beer list but very limited on the IPAs. It was 8pm on a Wednesday so I was just looking for some apps. Opted for Buffalo wings and a chip/nacho plate. Was notified that they were mostly out of wings but he offered to cook me what he had left which I appreciated. Came out with the nachos and 6 wings. The wings were great and the chips were differently but oddly pleasing. There was pesto I believe (see photo) that added a bit of fancy-ness to them (if that's a thing). I like it but couldn't finish them all. Great banter with the bartender and a few local patrons at the bar made this a successful visit. I give extra credit to the cook and bartender for my order of wings. They could have easily said they were all out and moved on but they made me a half batch and it was perfect. Honestly I didn't look at the bill but I assumed they billed a half order but I truly didn't care. They gave me customer service which can be hard to find in todays times. I had the Baja burger- perfectly cooked and the toppings were plentiful. The fries were good, but I'm not personally a fan of seasoned fries. These were duck fast fries- seasoned well, just a personal preference, but I gave them a try. Everyone recommended them, but with fries I am a plain Jane. I came here for lunch with friends on a Saturday and the service was friendly and quick. You seat yourself and the waiter comes to you. There wasn't a wait so that was a plus and there was a good amount of empty booths or tables to choose from. The bar/restaurant looks more upscale than a lot of other burger places. There are dimmed lights and a bar area. I got the pbr burger which comes with duck fat fries inside it. It was very very yummy but extremely messy as well. The fries did get a little soggy from the cheese but I didn't mind it. I wasn't asked how well I want my burger cooked but it was cooked to a good medium. The lettuce, cheese, and fries inside the burger were a perfect combination and were great. The burger is huge so be prepared to be full for the rest of the day! The dill pickle fries were good. Very deep fried and crunchy. The whisky onion rings were amazing and the batter seemed to be a little sweet which made it taste really great with the ranch dressing. New thought I'd venture to South Dakota, but I'm here lol. After two days in Brookings, I needed some good food. I found this place in my detach for food and decided to give them a try on St. Patty's day. I'm happy the gps lead me here. It was super crowded which means no wait . We sat and the bar and we're immediately greeted. We let the bartender pick our shots and he did an excellent job. This was definitely THE BEST black bean "burger" I've ever had. I was in a bit of a rush to catch a flight home but I wanted to grab something decent to eat before I got on the plane. I guess I was expecting a small town bar and this place was much better than that. I sat down at the bar and ordered a PBR burger and a side of brussels pretty quickly since I was in a rush. I waited less than 10 min so that was nice. I'm pretty sure the brussels have a blue cheese and bacon topping. The brussels were a little firm for my tastes. I prefer for them to be a little more cooked. The portion was pretty big. Unless you're really hungry I'd recommend sharing the brussels if you order them as a side. The burger was really good. It was cooked well, covered in cheese and topped with fries. It was a huge burger. I would have been okay without the brussels because the burger was so big. I'm pretty sure I've written this for another restaurant in a recent review, but I feel like it was implied that a side came with the burger even though it did not. The bartender asked something along the lines of, "Which side would you like?" It's not the end of the world, but I think they should ask "Would you like to add a side?" I don't think I should have to ask if a side comes with a burger if the server asks me about sides. Everything else was great.
