Had such a fun time at Crawford's with friends and family. The atmosphere is great and the bartenders were great. We ordered the Epiphany, which comes with a Buzz Ball flower, also known as an Electric Daisy. You take a drink, then chew the flower bud and let it sit for a bit before swallowing. When you take another drink, your mouth feels electric. It's like a fun, adult Pop Rocks sensation. If you want a drink that's an experience, order the Epiphany. Trust me. We had supper at Crawfords some good/some not. We made reservations and specifically asked for a quiet area as we were celebrating our anniversary. When we arrive, they first attempted to seat us directly in front of the kitchen. We asked for a different seating and they seated us upstairs all the way in the back. Good ambiance. I had the NY Strip special and for a piece of "prime" steak, it left much to be desired- much fat and gristle covered with sauce. Did not enjoy. The prawns were Amazing! We stumbled across Crawfords while in Sioux Falls for work. I am sometimes hesitant to go to steak houses because often times are pricey and not worth it but nonetheless we landed in Crawfords and it did not disappoint. Our waitress was kind and polite without being fake or overbearing. The steak (NY strip because I was being cheap) with the dry rub "enhancement" was out of this world. More tender than your average fillet. Honestly the best steak of my life. We also had the award winning pork chop which was also amazing. Popped into Crawford's on a business trip, this review is strictly for drinks, although I'd love to come back sometime for food as well. I had heard about the Epiphany drink that numbs your mouth with the buzz button--and it didn't disappoint. There's a drink in Vegas that also uses this, but I enjoyed this one more. So smooth, creamy and flavorful. I also tried the pornstar martini, which I enjoyed because of the passion fruit flavor. The ambiance of this place is so cool, old building with a lot of history to observe/read on the menu. It's on Phillips ave in the center of the cute area downtown. We had a dinner for 4 at Crawfords recently prior to going to a local show. We let them know about the need to be done with our meal at a specific time when we started (jump ahead - we had to rush eating to get to the show with no time to consider dessert). For starters, we had the black truffle gouda dip and the artisanal breads. Both were okay - fresh chips with the gouda were tasty, amount of gouda dip a bit light given the price; the artisanal breads were pretty basic given the price - 2 rolls cut into thirds and 4 pieces of banana bread with butter and a seasoned butter. The tomato crab bisque soup was really good! For mains, the butchers cut steak salad was a hit as were the scallops. The truffle burger was difficult to eat and, although it was pretty decent, after 1/2 a sandwich, the person called it. The ribeye was disappointing; just nothing special about this $70 steak; served only warm, cut of meat nothing special. The service was mostly friendly and was attentive with some gaps. read more

Rest of food was brought out shortly after i finished the salad. Rant incoming- can't tell you how nice it is to eat at a restaurant that properly spaces out a meal. So tired of mains coming out 2 seconds after my apps!!! Timing here is perfect. Steak was cooked perfectly medium and seasoned expertly. Wild rice was good and carrots as well. We had experienced poor service with Crawfords before, but really wanted to try again. The patio is so pretty, the menu is inviting, and our server was very kind! We ordered drinks, and they were brought to us after a short amount of time. We then ordered food, and 55 minutes later, we're sitting with empty drinks and no food. Our polite waitress apologized about half way through the wait, then we never saw her again. We had to find a waitress, and gave her cash for the drinks. We enjoyed the butcher board for an appetizer, soups salads for starters, and bistro fillet in bison ribeye. Overall the food was very good although the bistro ribeye was a tad overdone for our liking. The sides were a nice accompaniment although all are à la carte and can add up quickly if you're not careful. A nice dessert selection offers a nice way to end a great meal. Always spot on with the food, the drinks are always great as well. It's never much of a wait if you come at a reasonable time and not on the weekend. Mushroom pizza was yummy, and the lavender lemon drop drink was perfectly nonalcoholic and juicy as hell. I'm never disappointed when I come here to spend money. The only downside to this visit was that my pizza came out after about 5 1/2 minutes, lukewarm. It would've been better if it were hot. My only complaint in the four times I've been here. For the area, the cost of food and cocktails is appropriate, but the cost of the steak is comically high, especially if Luke warm pizza is a common occurrence. Another date night for the wife and I. So we went downtown and tried Crawfords. Upon entering, the decor is pretty terrible. It's like a hunting cabin meets a flea market meets Grandma's house. They have deer antler chandeliers, old furniture and a bejeweled wall. The chairs are so uncomfortable it makes you wonder if the owner has sat in the chairs for an entire dinner. I know it's a historic building but it is time to upgrade the decor. Now the good part. Our waitress Paige was great. Food was amazing. We ordered appetizers of Rock shrimp and chislic. Entrees of NY strip and Pork Wellington. Mushroom risotto. Food was really good. Way overpriced but really delicious. A meal for 2 with a tip and drinks cost us $250. Just crazy for Sioux Falls. While I enjoyed the food, the decor, over priced food and the most uncomfortable chairs ever will make this a one time visit. It took 50 mins to get our food and those chair's need to go!! You also didn't have the Creme Brule dessert you advertised. Food was a 5 star, the dining experience as a whole was a 3 star. read more

I should really stop there because it was really disappointing from here. We ordered a Delmonico Ribeye which was so thin, small and over done. All for $46. During our nealy 2 hour stay at Crawford's our waitress maybe visited our table 3 times. I recently visited with a bachelorette party. I wish I could say that there were some thing that was relatively redeeming about our experience, but unfortunately it was only the company I kept that made this a decent experience. The Service: we were here on a Saturday night, and as one could expect tables were pretty full. However, I still find it unacceptable that from the time we were seated to the time we received our meals was over an hour and a half. We had ordered drinks before our meal, and never once did our server ask us if we would like another drink. Additionally, once the food arrived we were never asked how our meal was. We didn't see our server until she brought the checks at the end of the meal. The Food: when the food finally arrived, several of are party members food was cold, including the two people who ordered $30 steaks. At this point we were all so hungry and also had no idea when the meal would return if sent back to the kitchen, so the women with the cold food still ate their meals. I ordered a chicken, apple, and bacon flatbread with a side of the dirty fries. My flat bread was decent, but nothing to write home about. The dirty fries were literally just under seasoned fries with a little bit of Parmesan cheese on top. Definitely skip those. Luckily everyone was a good sport, but not one member of our 12 person party felt like they were satisfied with their meal or with their experience. Skip this spot. read more

My wife and I came out for an early Mother's Day dinner since I had to work the next day. We ordered a Seared Tuna and Crispy Rice Salad, the Standard burger, and Gouda dip as a starter. The burger was fine. We never even got our starter dip so I can't speak to that. Kaleb was our server and was nice about removing the dip from our bill. My wife said the Seared Tuna and Crispy Rice salad was okay as well, although confusing. We had to ask staff where the crispy rice was. Apparently it's a garnish of some sort? We had assumed since it's in the name of the dish that it would have some sort of presence. But nope. Pretty disappointing outing to be honest. They're good not great. Crawford's has been apart of the downtown experience and is the place you can catch up with old friends or even meet up with new. However, if you're going to Crawford's, you're going to need to book your time for 3-4 hours and that's not because you are going to be chowing down on food. The past two times I've gone I've made a reservation and my table wouldn't be ready for almost 1 hour after my reservation time. I know this is due to the lack of staff they have right now, but they should have penciled the reservation times in knowing this. On top of that, it took up to 40 minutes after finishing our food or drinks to get a bill or even someone to ask if we would like another drink. The staff there are friendly and kind, but I think just have a little too much on their plates with demand. The food is okay. I don't ever come to Crawford's for their food because it's nothing remarkable, but I do come for their fun and creative drinks and s'mores. I use to come for their gorgeous charcuterie board, but it has not been as amazing as it use to be since the new ownership. Garlic potatoes were unseasoned, orders were messed up and I know that's probably due to their staffing issue. Overall, I'm going to continue to support Crawford's as they are a local owned business, but hope that the staffing issue gets resolved and menu improves soon so it's a more enjoyable experience. read more

The ambiance was very nice and our server, friendly. I had the Pork Wellington cooked medium, which was VERY well (by which I mean finely) done. I might have to say my favorite part, however, was the Old Fashioned I had. I did opt for the upsell to top shelf whiskey (Dovetail-something), which was quite spendy for Sioux Falls, but it was amazing. The house made bitters were also excellent. Nice big chunk of clear ice, Luxardo cherry, orange rind; absolutely perfect. I don't drink a lot anymore so on the occasional date-nights my wife and I can squeeze in, it's nice to relax with a very nice drink. And, again, it was a spendy drink. But it's the only proper Old Fashioned I've had thus far in Sioux Falls that wasn't served with crushed ice or in a hot glass right out of the washer, or with a maraschino cherry, or something else really bad. So from now on, that's at the top of our list. This includes over Minerva's and The Treasury. We have yet to try the Brazilian steakhouse, Parker's Bistro or Morrie's Strakhouse.
