Great ambiance, great food. Sioux Falls is lucky to have a place like this. Husband had the pork and I had the duck. Both excellent.

The experience here left me underwhelmed. I have been looking forward to coming to Parker's bistro for quite a while, my friend and I stopped for a couple appetizers while feeling a little peckish. We got the Chislic, and the cheese plate. The cheese plate was pretty disappointing, the cheese looked like it had sat out all day. No major flavor profiles, a basket of basic crackers to go along with it and olives. For the cost of a cheese plate I expected to be relatively satisfied with it. No fruits, jams, breads, spreadables (1). The fluidity of the dish was very stale, as well as the freshness. The Chislic is some of the best that I've had, having travelled far and wide, I can say without a doubt this is so far my favorite out of 18 countries and hundreds of restaurants. Our waitress seemed incredibly green, didn't seem familiar with the menu, upon checkout, added an erroneous item to our check, which I would've missed had I not gone over it, overall, I was disappointed in the visit that I had at Parker's bistro. I had had high hopes for my first visit, and was hoping for this to be a new favorite restaurant downtown. A chef driven establishment.... A nice ambiance with plenty of seating. Over the years I've enjoyed 5 star meals and also a couple inedible ones. I need to ask more questions when ordering. I just can't bring myself to eat rare (raw) duck. An interesting menu I would call French possibly. You'll need to end your meal with an Americano and in home dessert. Most of the waitstaff are friendly and helpful. Don't forget to stop at Parker's cocktail bar, (Myrtles), next door for a night cap. Craft cocktails in a pretty space. read more

Ordered drinks to hang out and have a drink before ordering food, took at least 20 minutes to get 2 drinks. In the mean time ordered appetizer. The appetizer arrived before the drinks. 2 signature dishes were not available, the past and the duck at a 7:15 reservation. The waitress did give us a free desert to compensate for the time it took to get drink. I really wasn't there for desert but a few drinks and a good meal. Pretty disappointed for the 2nd time in a row. Not on my short list for places to enjoy a meal in downtown SF. read more

We stopped in Sioux Falls for a night during our road trip and I decided to check out this place based on reviews. It's August 2023 and like most places during these times, they are short staffed. So we waited a bit even though I made a reservation on open table. No biggie. We were early anyways. Our server was very lovely and managing tables indoors and outdoors. The cocktail menu is very good. I had the lavender martini and the last drink on the cocktail list. Blanking on the name even though I had 2 of them. Maybe that's why I don't remember haha. I ordered the bouillabaisse, and it was delicious. My husband had a steak dish and enjoyed it very much. But then he slurped up the rest of my bouillabaisse sauce and said he could drink that forever. We skipped dessert and walked back to our hotel. It's an easy location in the happening area. Parker's Bistro is phenomenal. The ambience is dark and sultry, the cuisine is current and innovative (but not TOO innovative). Our server was present and responsive without being overly attentive. My companion had what was probably the best Caesar salad (house-made dressing) I've ever had. I ordered the scallops and the meal was excellent (although would suggest that the asparagus not be pickled). If I am in town, I will definitely try to visit Parker's before anyplace else. read more

My wife and I went to Parker's Bistro on Saturday, April 27th. We have been to this establishment many times before and have been very impressed with the food and service. This time, the food was still very tasty, drinks were well made and balanced. However, there were a few concerns this time. First, the service was a bit slow. The dinner took 2 hours total. Second, we asked for our appetizer with almonds on the side. However, due to a miscommunication, they came incorporated into the dish. Third, and probably most importantly, the kitchen staff didn't consistently wear gloves when prepping and plating food. The expeditor kept wiping his fingers on his apron and handling meal tickets with his bare hands, then placing garnishes and fries on plates. I also noticed the cook at the sautee station without hair restraint and two cooks without beard restraints. These are clear sanitation violations that I haven't observed at this establishment before. Not sure if it was new leadership or what, but it was definitely more lax this time. We will be back, but it may be a while as this was disappointing. read more

My wife and I moved to Sioux Falls from the Twin Cities about a year ago, and this is easily the best food we've had in Sioux Falls. The ambiance is somewhere reminiscent of a Scottish pub, somewhat dark, relaxing, and perfect for the fare. Cheyenne (sp?) provided excellent front of house service. Flatbread with a shallot marmalade, goat cheese, fig, and mint was stellar and well composed. Bouillabaisse was very good, not perfect. Mussels and clams were perfectly cooked. The duck breast with tea-infused farro, spiced plums, candied pistachio, and a VERY smoky grilled endive was one of the best treatments of duck I've ever had. Well balanced, nuanced, with deep depth of flavor and a perfectly prepared duck breast made this the standout. Would highly recommend and make sure you don't miss this spot. read more

Very very good overall. Some truly unexpected flavors that made the meal memorable, but overall a bit overpriced (although I'm sure that's becoming the norm nowadays). I've been told Parker's is the best restaurant in Sioux Falls, and I completely agree. Is Parker's the best restaurant I have EVER been to? No. Is it the best in South Dakota? No, that's Skogen in Custer. But best in Sioux Falls, absolutely. Our server Allyson was phenomenal, some of the best service I've had. The owner was also on deck on a Friday night and obviously cares very much about her restaurant. It shows in everything, from the atmosphere to the staff and the food. My biggest gripe is really price. 4 drinks, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and one dessert was $164 without tip. I was expecting around $120, so the bill was a bit of a surprise. I had the filet salad, and the amount of beef was MAYBE 2 ounces. So maybe it was 3 ounces before it was cooked? The saving grace was the pickled celery, which added a raisin-like sweetness that was so clever it made the meal memorable for a long time to come. But $30 for 2 ounces of beef with lettuce, blue cheese, and potatoes was a bit of a sticker shock, even in our rapidly inflating economy. Parker's is perfect for special occasions, and the cost reflects that. At least I left feeling that I overall did get what I paid for, and I wish the restaurant all the best and continued success in our increasingly difficult economic conditions. read more

We started with a delicious shrimp appetizer, pan seared shrimp with a medium spicy scampi style sauce (so so good), that was a "special" and not on the regular menu. Dinner for us was Steak Diane and Lamb ragu. Both were perfectly prepared. We'd happily return (regularly!) if we lived closer. I wanted my brother from out of town visiting to try this restaurant but the last time we tried to go we did not have a reservation so after 10 minutes of waiting we were turned away after a reservation had walked in. My friend and I both really loved our meals! I got the duck and she got one of the vegan entrees. The duck was so flavorful and rich- the only downside was it was slightly cold but I would still recommend it. The service was also extremely friendly. Had dinner there on 5/4 with another couple. My wife and I selected the swordfish with a cup of their featured squash soup. Swordfish was very good, although the vegetables(pea pods or snap peas..not sure) were terrible and my wife and I were spitting them out as the husks were uneatable. No bread service, a big mistake with my wife and I. The soup was too thick and almost seemed like it was out of a can. We started with two cosmopolitans which came out too red(too much cranberry) and then ordered a $90 bottle of GranMoraign(sp?) Pinot Noir which we have had before and was very good. For the record, cosmopolitans should be pink not red. I have been to some of the finest bars in the country and have made cosmos many times. Bottom line, there are many things that need to be fixed and should be. My wife and I won't be back anytime soon. read more

The place to bring people you love. I made a reservation for 7 people several months in advance for a destination bachelorette dinner for my now sis-in-law. I debated between 3 bookmarked places but my bro, Jose C. who had been to all of them helped me choose Parker's, though at the time, I was still a little unsure. They granted my request of a semi-private table all the way in the back that was partially concealed. The area had really nice natural lighting and a welcoming feel. I started with a pretty Jacques Rose cocktail of calvados (apple brandy) a grenadine, rhubarb bitters, and lemon - deliciously sweet with a little sour. We studied the menu for a while then decided to order Small Plates and 2 entrees to share with the whole table. I welcomed the variety. We ordered all items from their Small Plates menu except for the Cheese Plate and Pommes Frites. This included the Shrimp, Baked Ravioli, Tuna Poke, Spring Rolls, Bacon Jam, Creole Meatballs, Sausage, and Ossenwurst which were all super delicious. Stand-outs were the Sausage - house made longanisa with sweet apricot chutney and radicchio, Ossenwurst - fresh Wagyu beef tartare patties on rye toast served with pickled egg, capers, and arugula, a bright Tuna Poke - with seaweed salad, sesame seeds, and macadamia nuts which reminded me of my Hawaiian honeymoon, and Bacon Jam which I couldn't stop sampling. A few of us had the Soup of the Day - a cold, refreshing beet-based creamy broth. For entrees, we had the Bone-In-Pork Chop and Grilled Tenderloin. The super juicy pork chop served with radicchio, mushrooms, cranberries, and sherry cream was the best I've had in the area. When we finished, we were due for our next stop. Otherwise we would have stayed for dessert and lingered over drinks. When the bill arrived- it was less than what we expected but might have been commensurate with the Sioux Falls area. Everything including the service exceeded my expectations. If I'm ever in the area again, Parker's will be at the top of my list. read more

I've been to Parker's a few times, and each time it's been my favorite meal during those trips to Sioux Falls. It's family owned with regionally sourced ingredients, and is one of a few upper-scale restaurants in the area that doesn't belong to a chain. Ambience is nice, it's a bit dark inside but the lighting is perfect. The staff is always friendly. They have a full bar with a large beer selection, and I was fortunate to dine with a beer aficionado who told me Parker's carries a lot of rarer beers. As for me, I had some carbernet (whatever was already open) and it was fine. The food is always on point. I didn't have the chance to take pictures because I was dining with work colleagues, but being a larger party we did order a lot of appetizers. We ordered the french fries, the empenadas, the mediterranean tapas platter, the sausage platter and the butternut squash. The fries were fresh, fried once and came with a delicious aoli. The empenadas were also good, though not as authentic as you'd get from a latin restaurant. The mediterranean tapas and the butternut squash were also good. If I'd order again, I'd probably go with the squash. I ordered the house salad, which was fantastic. Dark greens with pine nuts, red onions and a balsamic vinagrette. I also tried the scallops as an entree, which were delicious. They came with a delicious sauce, some ground nuts and a bit of cream on the side. Next time, I'd probably order the wagyu, though it is possible to mix both as an off-menu surf and turf option. I'll definitely order the house salad again. Again, Parker's is probably my favorite restaurant in Sioux Falls, and I'll be back. read more

2.5 stars. I went to Parker's for lunch which was probably a mistake. I heard great things about their dinners (of course, on Yelp) so decided to come here with my co-workers one afternoon. I think the lunch menu is lacking. They must not have put as much consideration into it as the dinner menu. However, I'd still recommend the gumbo (I should have gotten the bowl- it has a great spicy kick!) The caprese salad was not impressive. My friend who got the soup of the day really liked it. She got the half soup half salad. The sandwich was literally half.. like, on one slice of bread. Yeah.. The place is really nice inside and the service was good as well. While in Sioux Falls during our road trip, my partner and I came here for dinner on a Friday evening. I was interested in this place for its vegan menu options, and it did not disappoint! The ratatouille was to die for! Additionally, we were seated as soon as we walked in and were met with very friendly and patient waitstaff. We received our food in a reasonable amount of time and enjoyed our time there. Excellent service, bread basket is delicious. We had the Beef Wellington and the Sturgeon Entree. The Sturgeon outshines the Wellington by a mile. So many great flavors to explore on the plate. Our group had the house and Caesar salad, beef tenderloin, Buffalo colognes, and Mediterranean tapas plate. For dessert we enjoyed the lavender vanilla cake. I cannot say enough things about Parker's. My ex-husband and I celebrated our wedding night dinner there and our 5 course dinner with wines to compliment each course was beyond surreal from the service (which is always stellar, but Stacy and her staff went above and beyond to ensure our evening was a step above perfection) to the food to the excellent wine pairings to the impeccable timing of the service. Not once did we feel rushed nor were we left wondering where our food was. Our Valentines Day "elopement" was made extra special by Stacy seating us in the center of the front window as requested; it felt a little more private and quiet there and was perfect in every way for special dinner. This was all way back in 2014 and I remember it like it was yesterday. If you're looking for a place to make memories, I not only recommend but I strongly suggest making a reservation at Parker's. You will not have a single reason to regret it. All of that being said I've been back for other dinner meals, not remotely as elaborate of course, but the same attention to detail is ever present in every meal plated and served from Parker's kitchen. If you haven't tried Parker's yet, what the heck are you waiting for? You are completely missing out on the jewel of the downtown Sioux Falls dining scene. read more

Parker's off their game tonight! You can't sell a delicata squash salad by substituting butternut squash. The cold soggy bacon and lack of blue cheese was noticeable. The pasta was way off as well. It is easy to recommend this as the best restaurant in Sioux Falls. They consistently deliver exceptional food. I've been sporadically enjoying Parker's since they opened 10 years ago. It's a date destination for me as it's kind of high end. I do still feel like I can comfortable in a nice pair of jeans, though. You can trust the chefs here even if you feel unsure of the description on the menu. Easy to give Parker's 5 stars. Great work! read more

Fine dining at its best in Sioux Falls. Recommended by service staff at another establishment, so we went with it. Walked in on a Saturday night sans reservation and were lucky enough to be seated at the bar (very lucky). We ordered the duck and steak and frites. Fabulous meals. Dessert consisted of dark chocolate w whipped cream and creme brulee. Prices were very fair considering the fine food, service and establishment. I'd recommend sitting at the bar. Another downtown Sioux Falls gem. I was seated right away at the bar which overlooks the open kitchen. Very nice ambience and you can always trust a kitchen that lets you watch them work. I ordered a gin and tonic to start, as this place fancies themselves a mixologist type place. It was solid, but sometimes you just don't mess with basic (minus 1/2 star). For food, I started with the house salad. Very fresh spring greens, pine nuts, tomato, and onion topped with a white balsamic. Very fresh, but perhaps a tad heavy on the dressing (minus 1/2 star). My entree was the grilled porkchop. My server asked how I wanted it prepared and recommended medium. I went with that and it didn't disappoint. Very juicy and flavorful. It was topped with an au jus with white beans and a half of avocado. There was also a side of three homemade hush puppies. Very southern/comfort food like. Delish. read more

The perfect place for a formal birthday dinner with the family. All the staff were friendly and ready to oblige in any way they could. I ordered the duck breast plate ( see photo ) and it tasted amazing. For the price ($28) it was slightly disappointing that there wasn't much food actually on my plate, but it sufficed.
