I made a reservation online a little over three hours before we wanted to dine. My requests were 4 adults and 1 high chair and preferably somewhere quiet as we had elderly guests who can't hear well. We arrived for our reservation and were seated at a table that wouldn't allow a high chair by restaurant rules. We were moved to a much smaller table that couldn't accommodate the 5 of us. The table was also located directly under a very loud speaker and a television. When asked if this table was ok, we stated our concerns that the table was very small and that our family couldn't hear each other due to the speaker. The hostess said it was all they could do. We decided to give it a chance as it was our first time here. My husband ordered the pulled pork sandwich and I ordered the chicken honey almond penne. Husband says the pulled pork itself was good but the onion rings inside the sandwich were stale making the sandwich feel past expiration. My penne was completely over cooked to the point where the chicken was more of a jerky consistency and the pasta was disintegrating if you tried to use your fork to collect it. Our other guests enjoyed the steak stating it was ok. From the start with our requests for accommodation being ignored to finish with possibly the worst dishes I've ever overpaid for, this experience was one I never would wish on anybody. read more

It took an obnoxious amount of time to get our salad and soup after our waitress took our order. The waitress was nice tho. That was not a good sign. This used to be our "go to" place in Sioux Falls, probably not any more. We had a reservation and were promptly seated. From there, everything went downhill. It was obvious they were under-staffed and couldn't handle the customer load. Our server was friendly but had so many tables, she had no chance of providing good service to anyone. There were bus boys roaming around with empty trays who looked lost - possibly lack of training or unclear about what their job responsibilities entailed. Food was ok, not great. We had a party of 14 and we were seated at the time of our reservation. Troy was our waiter and did a superb job of keeping us all happy with no mistakes from taking our order and delivering the drinks and food. All of the food was hot and perfectly cooked, everyone enjoyed what they ordered and we plan on making this restaurant an annual place to stop for dinner. My daughter took us there two years ago for the first time. From time to time, when in SF, we continue to go there. The food is excellent, the ambience is great as is the service. A bit slow when packed with diners, but that is to be expected. The staff is very friendly and accommodating with special dietary needs. The decor is exceptionally well done here. You get the feeling of a neighborhood bar/restaurant. Finally, the prices are reasonable. We'll be going back there from time to time. read more

This is a regular place for me. It's located between two hospitals I visit for work and close to the VA if I have to go there. No, I am not a doctor and don't even play one on TV. Grill 26 is owned by Minerva's and they do a good job w wonderful dinners. Here I almost always get one of their salads. They are in a league of their own. Quality meats (salmon in this case) but there re chicken and steak options too. The soups and sandwiches I have had before and no hesitation. Locals know the place and it's pretty classy. read more

Just had the worst experience at Grille 26 in Sioux Falls. At 5 pm we called to see if they accepted reservations for party of 5. Woman on phone said they had a table available but we'd have to be done by 6:30. When we arrived we asked if there was another table available and were told there wasn't really even though the dining room was nearly empty. We then did not get our food until after 6. At 6:30, as we waited for our dessert, the Manager came to our table and asked us to leave! When we explained we were waiting for our dessert, he rudely expressed, with annoyance and frustration, that he GUESSED he would have to figure something else out. Our waitress was completely unaware of the situation. We chose to ask for our dessert to go and explained to the manager as we left that next time he should clearly keep the table reserved and offer another or he should let his waitress staff know that our table should have been first priority so we could be done by 6:30. Another great restaurant in the Sioux Falls area! Grille 26 was packed Saturday night, but the wait staff and kitchen seemed to be keeping on top of it. We got seated and started with a few drinks and the Spinach & Artichoke Dip. The dip was very unique with large pieces of the spinach and artichokes blended in. Very tasty, and complimented their focaccia perfectly! We both chose to take advantage of the "Taste of New Orleans" menu. The Shrimp and Crawfish Jambalaya was beautifully executed. Presented in a more deconstructed manner, the flavors were all excellent, and a perfect balance of the Cream sauce and étouffée The shrimp and grits also presented very well, however wasn't quite perfect. The fried green tomatoes were perfect, and the grits may have been the best I've tasted in the Midwest. Unfortunately, the shrimp had been over cooked leaving them tough and rubbery. I ordered take-out tonight. When I arrived to pick up the food, I had to wait in line several minutes as there was only one greeter who had to seat patrons along with ringing up the to-go orders and it was very busy. When I got home, I was very surprised to see they had forgotten the salmon in my blackened salmon salad. This was so disappointing!!! Too far to drive back across town, so I was basically left with a pile of spinach that cost $18+. Great meal in all respects. We tried the pork and watermelon lettuce wraps, a burger and the ribs as well as a kids meal grilled cheese. The burger was outstanding (and that person eats a lot of burgers). The lettuce wraps were filled with flavor. The ribs done 2 ways were exceptional. The kids meal was also a hit. Admittedly this was not our first choice - but it will be the next time in Sioux Falls! Wednesday night 6:30 and seated immediately, great selection and variation of food, drinks, beer and wine. I had the salmon and hubby had the Ranch Burger - both great and came quickly. Our waiter was busy but easily took care of us with no rush. Seemingly very average from the front end, Grille 26 was a pleasant surprise. We came here on a whim and didn't have a reservation. Wait was short however, and in no time we were picking from a huge list of wines. Servers are clearly overworked and short staffed, but our guy was great and friendly! You have to order the honey almond chicken penne. The honey and sage sauce is incredible. We will be trying to replicate this at home. Wow, I'm salivating as I type this. Went to Grill 26 last night. My wife had the steak salad and I had a shrimp jambalaya type meal. My partner's steak came out rare when she had ordered it medium well. She politely sent it back for a re-cook. When it came back it was quite evident they just popped it into the microwave and nuked it to well done. My meal was lukewarm and had obviously been prepared en masse prior to serving. It's quality was of a store brand Zatarin's and not something a well trained chef would serve. The Cajun flavor was absent. We had to flag our waitstaff more than a couple times and waited ten to fifteen minutes to place our order. End of the day we won't go back. Though finding good seafood in Sioux Falls can be a challenge, tonight I tried this spot. First things first, the seafood here was absolutely delicious and incredibly fresh. I ordered the seafood scampi and I'm so glad I did, nothing was overwhelming, this was made is such a way that all the ingredients complimented each other. The calamari and shrimp tasted as fresh as you'll find on the East Coast, the pasta was just perfect. If you're looking for a comparison, then I'll say the food is on level of the excellence rarely found. 5/7/21 5:30/6 pm Grill 26 is casual dining but with the swagger of a modern Minerva's vibe. You'll likely feel underdressed as you enter, but they emphasize to "come as you are." Since it is owned by the upscale Minerva's, you can expect the pricing to be a tad higher than your average sit-down restaurant. However, if you're looking for a nicer place that won't completely break the bank, it is more affordable than their counterpart. Having their own brick-oven in house, the staff emphasize those items cooked in it as their specialties, like the brick-oven salmon and pizzas. Our waitress strongly encouraged the brick-oven salmon and the creole penne. She was very confident in her recommendations so we followed her advice to a T. For our appetizer, which they call small plates, we had the steak nachos. These were a delightfully unique flavor. Using wonton wrappers for the chips created a sweet light and airy but crisp experience. You wouldn't expect all these different flavors, from the savory steak to the surprisingly sweet tomato jam, to all compliment each other so well, but after having had it, I can say it is something that I would order again. Only downside to using wonton chips, they are more brittle and not as optimal to scooping up the extra fixings. Additionally, we tried a couple of their drinks, the Primo Margarita and the Sparkling Berry. Honestly, with what the prices were for the drinks I would definitely skip these in future visits. Don't get me wrong, they were fine and they didn't completely skimp on the alcohol like some places do. But, when spending almost an equal amount to that of a meal, on just one drink, it seems rather steep to me. Having been recommended to share the brick oven salmon, we did just that. When seeing the plate, we were a bit nervous, would this really be filling enough for the both of us? But in combination with the appetizer and dessert, it was the perfect amount. Personally, I'm not a big fan of fish. I have had some good salmon here and there, but it isn't typically the thing I would go out and order for myself. Thankfully our waitress knew what she was talking about, and the dish ended up being enjoyable. Combining the flavors of the salmon, pesto sauce and cooked spinach created a satisfying taste. The mushroom risotto patty had a good flavor, but was rather chewy and got stuck in my teeth. My husband, who enjoys fish, really liked the dish but agreed you needed to combine all the different pieces to get the perfect taste. Having shared our meal, we were able to have room for dessert! Again, listening to our waitress's advice, we ordered the strawberry rhubarb cheesecake. Let me say this first, it was delicious, but it was not the best I've eaten. It had a very homemade taste and feel to it. I suppose that is both a positive and negative. The strawberry rhubarb syrup gave the essence of freshly picked produce. However, the cheesecake itself was a tad too soft and sticky and the crust was quite hard. We did enjoy it, but I think I would try a different dessert next time. Grill 26 is a busy place, so make sure you aren't in too big of a rush when visiting. Our waitress was fantastic. She was very personable and ready with recommendations. There were times however when a little faster service would have been appreciated. All in all, Grill 26 is definitely a place I would recommend for someone looking for a nice night out. We saw a couple of individuals eating before attending prom, and I think Grill 26 is the absolute perfect place for something like that.
