I come here solo for a good beer at the end of the week and a delicious burger. My order is the Humpty burger and some fries and this combo with a cold beer never disappoints. I like going when it isn't busy so service is always accommodating. They have a few tvs if you want to watch a game and some outdoor seating too. Parking is small on the side but again never had an issue. This place is closer for me than the downtown location so I'll come here more often but this place is a bit darker with less windows or natural light than the downtown location. read more

Stopped in for a late lunch, really an early dinner, and was greeted with friendly staff and a calm restaurant. We were able to take some time to check out what they had on tap before ordering. This establishment is for those 21 and over. They offer a variety of beers and I really enjoyed the seasonal flight they had. All of the burgers are smash burgers and are cooked well done. The restaurant is small & easy to miss being part of the same building as Vinyl Taco. We had no problems getting a booth on a Saturday afternoon. Service was prompt & attentive. Our burgers & fries were great! Out of curiousity, we also got a side of the peanut butter. By itself, it's really good! Curious even more about their Not Just a Nutter Burger, I dared my wife to try it on her cheesebuger. She countered that I had to have the first taste. I was pleasantly surprised by the new taste! just left here and can't express my disappointment. I guess my biggest complaint is I assumed fries come with the burgers, as most do. At this place, they don't . Then, if you're the waitress, you'd assume it would be common sense to at least ask if we wanted fries. But she didn't . Burgers were ok. Nothing special. The pretzel appetizer was also disappointing. Then, to top it off, they have no ice in their drinks, so the drinks get warm pretty quickly. Honestly, if the hot pepper jam on my burger wasn't so tasty, I'd give a 1 star. I'm definitely not interested in coming back. One and done. read more

We were welcomed very quickly coming through the door. Luckily they had seating open. It is a lot smaller than expected. You have the bar and tables. They opened the outside to customers as we were waiting. We had someone order our food but then someone else helping with the rest. Alex was a great help and giving recommendations. I ordered the Cajun burger which was juicy and full of flavor. My wife ordered the peanut butter burger. Both flavors were spot on. Definitely coMing back to try other flavors. Always a perfect meal when we dine here. They are consistent with every visit and I have dined here for years. We have lots of favorite burgers including the Totally Slawsome, the MountMushMore, the Western Ave, Not Just a Nutter Burger, and the classic burger! Best burger in town. We've eaten here at both locations over 30 times over the last 3 years. This is one of the few places I bring people to when they come into town. While the one on Western took a while to get the food and service right, it is still the best burger in town. There only been 2 times we've been disappointed with the food. I recommend getting the chips or pretzel but DO NOT GET THE FRIES. No one I've brought here has ever been happy with those. They are not cooked well EVER. Also I highly recommend the 1919 Root Beer for non-beer drinkers. It's the best root beer you'll ever have. Service is very quick. They do have a 21+ requirement as of my posting. For those with friends/family under 21, they do carry out and pick up. Also friends with vegetarian, they have a bean patty substitution (though I don't know if it is lard free). read more

This was a truly disappointing experience. I talked it up to my wife, and now I'm eating a crow burger. This place is NOT the place to go if you want a meal. No soda is avaiable by tap, you have to purchase by the can. No ice water is available, you get luke warm tap water. You have to beg for salt, pepper, Utensils, catsup, mustard (in tiny cups). I asked for jalapeños to be added to my burger and that didn't happen. I won't be back to this place.....the virus may be a good reason to close this place up!!! read more

This visit to JLBeers was a disappointment Perhaps I had unrealistic expectations because of the excellent service at the Grand Forks ND location I am used to. There during the rush it is never more than five minutes from order to food and everything is always excellent. Here I noticed that 20 minutes after I ordered they started putting burgers on the grill. Apparently they wait until they have enough orders to make working worthwhile When the food arrived the chips were cold and soggy and the few tablespoons of cheese dip I paid extra for were cold.
