Service was amazing , food was good. It's pretty loud at dinner time but that's to be expected at a Bar. My son enjoyed the Perch.

TAP21 is a great bar and restaurant in the city of Manistique that offers more than twenty different brews. They're even known for the best food selection in the city! So my mother and I went to eat there for dinner and it was a great experience thanks to the best service from one of the barkeepers on duty! The walleye is exceptionally grilled and served with very tasty sides of green beans and a choice of potato. The jalapeños were half portion due to quantity shortage on the kitchens end, but it never disappoints us! The mushrooms were well fried and the burnt ends were delicious! Their burnt ends may not be of bbq joint quality but the sauce is a great addition to the meat! We both shared the smorgasbord but ended up not finishing it because it was a lot of food to enjoy in one sitting. Nonetheless it was delicious and the drinks served were very good too! May come back again next time we go to Manistique!

To die for Fettacuni Alfredo with Shrimp! Alfredo sauce on the sweet side, I loved the unique flavor! Thick and creamy, yum! Shrimp were large and fresh, cooked perfectly. I destroyed my plate in a few minutes. Look at my pic, very deceiving. She brought it out, I was like "that is a tiny portion" ---- but the plate is more like a plate bowl, super deep. Service was excellent and the place was jammed packed for dinner during the week. Great selection of craft beers - but for the love of god - Mr. Manager, no one can read your beer list of the screens. LoL, if you go, you will know........

Outside. There's going to be a second floor soon!

Loved the woodwork on the bar and the stamped tin ceiling. ! They have 21 beers and cider on tap! The food was good too. Skylar, our awesome bartender and server, said that they are in the process of constructing a second floor. That is going to look great with the big windows you in the outside pic. Such a great ambience!

1890's bar made from a solid piece of wood. Somehow, this bar survived Prohibition.

Manistique has a hidden gem. It's Tap 21, the kind of authentic tavern you just don't find back in SE Michigan. Very friendly staff made this tourist feel right at home quickly. My bride & I started our dinner with the fried mushroom appetizer. Huge silver dollar-sized breaded & fried mushrooms. Yum! Next was the Bluegill dinner with mixed veggies plus a loaded baked potato. The fish was perfectly fried, crispy & flavorful. When our server said the portions were generous, she wasn't kidding. 8 pieces of fish! The baked potato was covered in cheese with large hunks of bacon, not bacon bits. Even the side salad was worth noting: not some forgetable iceberg lettuce but a spring mix. My wife & I don't drink, but it's worth noting that they have an impressive list of craft beers. If you are traveling through the UP, I highly recommend visiting Tap 21.

The bartender was friendly. The only redeeming food star was my daughter's Chicken Alfredo. We all liked that! However the rest of the entrées were a let down. My son's penne pasta with chicken lacked pesto and chicken. My wife's Caesar salad was in her words, "nothing special." My Greek salad with lemon vinaigrette had no lemon flavor whatsoever. My chicken may have been trying to identify as croutons. Yikes! Everyone's chicken portions were so small I'm not sure if they were for a toddler or a really small bird. Most of the food was a letdown. Drinks mioght be considered a redeeming factor and encouraged my review to push from a 2 star to a 3 star: Blueberry Tart Lager - liked it, I'd order it again Manistique Lager - exactly what you'd expect in a Vienna Lager by BJCP style standards I just wasn't feelin' it. Hazy IPA - was lackluster like a dusty old surfboard Blood Orange Seltzer - my risk-it-for-the-biscuit choice ...oddly satisfying. It tasted a little like a creamsicle. My wife's blackberry cider was on point. Send it to us trolls down in the lower peninsula. Kids enjoyed "homemade" root beer. All in all, we spent around $90. I expected more for lunch at that price point especially from place where they claim everything is made from scratch except the BBQ sauce and Caesar dressing.

Wheaty's is a bar and serves bar food with your typical and not-so-typical bar drinks. My husband…read moreand I don't drink, so I can't tell you about the beverages --sorry! However, I can tell you about The Food, Respect Toward COVID, and their Work Ethic. The Food -- we ordered Deep Fried Pickles, which are hands-down the best fried pickles we've ever had (and we like fried pickles). They were spicy, but not too spicy. It tasted like the pickle itself was spicy and the panko had its own, unique seasoning. I wish they served those as a side dish to the sandwich instead of the fries! I ordered the "Wheaty's Wings" which claim to come with '7 Mammoth wings with every order' and they were some huge wings-- this is a real meal! I ordered plain wings and they were crispy and juicy and hot. Excellent! My husband ordered the Cordon Bleu Sandwich which has a juicy, seasoned chicken beast with Swiss and ham -- think chicken cordon bleu meets hoggie! He woofed that down! We ordered fries with the sandwich for a couple dollars more and they were okay... definitely not the same level of culinary skill as the rest of the food we ordered, we had to add lots of salt (Which is good that they don't load them with salt for people who can't tolerate that) and they still weren't so great. Respect Toward COVID -- Masks are required in order to enter this bar and she's serious! When you walk in, she sanitizes a table for you right there. She is constantly washing her hands and wearing a mask. As I watched her, I saw her touch her face about 3 times and each time she cleaned her hands in some fashion. She sanitizes bar stools, the bar -- she's on top of this. The chef is washing her hands and wearing a mask. There are only 2 women running the whole place and while they're doing all of their work, they're also constantly sanitizing. When people come in off the street and there's no where for them to sit, she gives them the option to sit on patio where they won't get food or drink service, but they can wait and she'll come and get them when a table is free or they can purchase a drink and sit and drink it outside. The tables are spaced more than 6 feet apart and the whole bar can maybe seat 30 max. Work Ethic -- there are 2 women running this VERY busy bar. The Front House Manager and the Chef. They're taking to-go orders and bussing tables and refilling drinks and sanitizing and washing their hands and reminding people to wear masks and every few minutes someone comes in off the street and wants to know when they can get a table. And they're doing it flawlessly! We were there around 9:30pm on a Saturday, so I imagine it was a long day of doing that constantly, but both women were exceptionally polite and answered questions and payed close attention to guests and we never had to wait longer than a few minutes for anything. Support Yooper-ran businesses, support small business, and get the fried pickles!

The seven of us wandered in here an there was literally one person (Josh) working the whole restaurant. He was bar tender, waiter, bus boy and cook. He did a fantastic job of taking care of us even though he had two or three other tables going at the same time. He was efficient, polite, attentive and super friendly and welcoming (a couple of other nearby restaurants declined serving us because it was late and they didn't feel like dealing with our large party). He didn't have any problem with it and was great. The food is basically bar food so I'm not comparing it to other more fine dining type places but I will say that as far as bar food goes they do an awesome job with it. I tried their "Best of Both Worlds" which is a burger and smoked brisket sandwich combined. It's their signature sandwich I guess. It was awesome. Other people had burgers, chicken wraps, chili and stuff like that. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. The bottom line: this is a great little small-town bar to get a couple beers and some good old American bar food in with a local twist. Our combination server, cook and bartender (Josh) was great.

The first drinks we ordered came out half full, tasted awful, and were still somehow $10 each. My coworkers also ordered simple root beers, and they were charged $5 each for those, which was ridiculous. Then we tried ordering whiskey, at an Irish pub that didn't even have Jameson, one of the most basic and famous Irish whiskeys. They also didn't have other common whiskeys we asked for. I even tried ordering a simple 7 and 7, and they didn't have 7-Up or Sprite, so they suggested Pepsi... at a bar. Unreal. The food was even worse. I ordered the fish and chips, and the fish was basically inedible, so tough I could barely cut it with a fork and the taste was terrible. The fries were soggy, and the bread ball sides they served were still frozen in the middle. For three people, the bill was nearly $90, which made it even more frustrating. To top it off, we waited over 30 minutes just to get the bill and leave. Without question, one of the worst restaurant/bar experiences I've ever had. I will never go back, and I'd strongly recommend others avoid it too.
