Stopped here during a family vacation. It was a Wednesday night in September around 9:30 PM so not a whole lot was open. The seven of us wandered in here an there was literally one person (Josh) working the whole restaurant. He was bar tender, waiter, bus boy and cook. He did a fantastic job of taking care of us even though he had two or three other tables going at the same time. He was efficient, polite, attentive and super friendly and welcoming (a couple of other nearby restaurants declined serving us because it was late and they didn't feel like dealing with our large party). He didn't have any problem with it and was great. The food is basically bar food so I'm not comparing it to other more fine dining type places but I will say that as far as bar food goes they do an awesome job with it. I tried their "Best of Both Worlds" which is a burger and smoked brisket sandwich combined. It's their signature sandwich I guess. It was awesome. Other people had burgers, chicken wraps, chili and stuff like that. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. The bottom line: this is a great little small-town bar to get a couple beers and some good old American bar food in with a local twist. Absolutely terrible experience from start to finish. We went to what is supposed to be an Irish pub/bar and it was one disappointment after another. The first drinks we ordered came out half full, tasted awful, and were still somehow $10 each. My coworkers also ordered simple root beers, and they were charged $5 each for those, which was ridiculous. Then we tried ordering whiskey, at an Irish pub that didn't even have Jameson, one of the most basic and famous Irish whiskeys. They also didn't have other common whiskeys we asked for. I even tried ordering a simple 7 and 7, and they didn't have 7-Up or Sprite, so they suggested Pepsi... at a bar. Unreal. The food was even worse. I ordered the fish and chips, and the fish was basically inedible, so tough I could barely cut it with a fork and the taste was terrible. The fries were soggy, and the bread ball sides they served were still frozen in the middle. For three people, the bill was nearly $90, which made it even more frustrating. To top it off, we waited over 30 minutes just to get the bill and leave. Without question, one of the worst restaurant/bar experiences I've ever had. I will never go back, and I'd strongly recommend others avoid it too. read more

Fish and Chips only had 2 small pieces of cod. Bangers and Mash had greasy sausage and mashed potatoes were instant out of box. Fries were hand cut. No daily specials like previous owner had. They will have to do better to survive. read more

Oh my goodness! You have to stop here. So friendly (not like the other places in town). Good prices, nice menu. Just changed ownership and I think they will soon be the best bar/restaurant in Manistique. read more

We hadn't been there in a long time for no real reason but wanted to support our local businesses. What a pleasant surprise! We ordered the full slab of ribs with fries and salad for carry out tonight. Delicious!! The meat was so tender it fell off the bones. The sauce was tangy, but not too spicy. Been coming here for years. Great basic bar food, solid service, and cheap, cold beer! Atmosphere of this old time UP bar is awesome. You can imagine drinking with your great grandfather here! The burger is awesome -- mostly for its exceptional homemade bun. But you've got to try the Cudigi. This UP specialty sandwich includes a patty of homemade italian sausage, a tangy marinara sauce, and provolone cheese. Oh-so-messy and oh-so-good! To react to some of the negative comments - this is a BAR and they serve BAR food. It's much better than most bars, but it's still bar food. read more

Stopped in Manistique as a halfway point on a long road trip. The town is gorgeous, quaint and everyone seems friendly, until we stepped into marleys. After driving 6 hours all we wanted was a drink and some food to snack on. We walked in and sat at one of the many open tables along the bar. After sitting for over 10 minutes we were not even greeted by one of the two unoccupied servers. The bartender saw us sitting and started to casually talk with a guy who came in after us and asked for a beer. The other server walked by us several times to clean off tables of people who had left before we arrived. After 15 minutes passed and we were still not acknowledged, we walked out and around the corner to wheatys. Got drinks in under a minute and food in less than 5. Point of the story: don't waste your time walking into this place. It sucks. read more

Came in on a Saturday around 9... service was excellent, special for dinner was walleye meal or sandwich. We chose both..... awesome!!!! Fish was cooked to perfection, salad was huge, fresh and had tomatoes, radish, onions and mushroom.... all fresh. Meal was so big I didn't even touch my fries. Hubby had the sandwich and it was great, bread was fresh, fish overflowed on the bun. Service, price and food were awesome!! read more

The options are few in Manistique, MI in late March, so Marley's edged out the Big Boy and the Casino down the road . Nice bar in a cool old building. Bartender was very friendly. This is however, only to be resorted to (for food) if it's March, and you find yourself in Manistique, or if you want to just sit at a bar and drink, skipping dinner. Went August 16th, 2017 l, at 11:30. Waitress/cook was incredibly kind and attentive. Food was great. Loved the cheese curds! I got the Italian sun sandwich on the homemade bun and it was TERRIFIC! I also got the fries, equally great (just needed a bit of salt). Cannot recommend this place enough, especially with who served and cooked for me. Eat at your own risk. Check the grill before you even consider ordering...its by the bar when you walk in. Everything is cooked in grease. The food was nasty. My daughter had a salad & said it was ok. The other 3 of us did not like the taste or greasiness of the food. read more

We stopped in on the same night a local adult basketball league had won a tournament, so they had the run of the place. Decent imported beer selection and a variety of food items available. I love hot wings, and the ones at Marley's were the hottest I'd ever had. We walked down to Buckshot Bar to get away from the rowdy crowd, and had a much better time there. read more

Ok but not great. Stick to burgers and fries you will be fine. Don't drink out of a glass beer tastes terrible in it.

Not good. The entire place smells like grease and the food was not even good on a greasy barfood scale. It appears to be a local place with lots of bar drama. The bartender stood and gossiped with a local resident about multiple people instead of waiting on a customer. Again...just not good. read more

Good food at a great price. Most of item are made fresh not just thawed out. Hamburgers are fresh and French fries are hand cut homemade. Try anyone of the chicken sandwiched or a burger, you won't be disappointed. read more

I'm giving this 2 stars because I feel bad for the 80 year old waitress/bartender. 2 people were in the bar and there were 4 in our party. My sister was eyeballing the fish special and asked "Barbie" if it was fresh to which she replied "Yeah from Gordons" LOL. So we decided on good old greasy bar burgers. I wish..more on that later. We were sitting next to the front door and she walked next to the bar on the other side of the door and started cooking our food. Right in the bar by the front door. OMG... The food came and even though they were all cooked at the same time (remember, we had a ringside seat) one burger was cooked good, one was just Ok and mine, of course mine was as dry as the desert in summertime. To make matters worse I ordered onion rings. What I got was breaded rings. LOL I never did find the onion. Fries turned out pretty good though. I'm a sucker for old buildings and this one did not disappoint. if you can get past the turpentine smell. I loved the 1800's Victorian bar back though. Beautiful. read more

Nice local bar in an old building. We enjoyed the BBQ Brisket Sandwich and the Mac 'n Cheese wedges. The kitchen is a stove right in the front of the bar so you can watch your food being made. read more

Terrible food. Ordered a drink with diet 7up, did not have diet 7up and rather than asking just gave Diet Coke instead. Ordered nachos, got a nacho salad instead. Wings were too breaded. Grilled cheese was burnt on one side but burnt side was face down when they brought it out. Overall not a very good dining experience read more
