    Wow.

We really enjoyed the food. We are from out of town and my wife wanted Cuban Food. It was delicious. We were very pleased. Jenna took care of us. She was very friendly and was knowledgeable about the menu and everything she recommended was superb. A must try. Tell them Larry and Lena sent ya. We will definitely be back.

Tangos Daytona is absolutely amazing! Authentic Mexican cuisine done right. I paid $10.99 for empanadas with a side, and it was worth every penny. The food was divine, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. You can truly taste the authenticity. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

I ordered the skirt steak first, I didn't care for it and sent it back. For me the flavor was lacking and I didnt enjoy the texture of it. The rice didnt have much flavor or salt but the grilled veggies were delicious. I ordered the chicken in place of the steak and that had more flavor than the steak. I wouldn't order it again though. Our server was great.

We popped in about 45 minutes before they closed, and it wasn't super busy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining is small, but nicely lit and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The waiter was pretty attentive and never made us feel rushed, despite our being there until a few minutes after 8. Everyone loved what they ordered. My friend got the salmon, and she said everything was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. My other friend ordered the cuban minus pickles, and said it was one of the best she'd had. She lives in Jacksonville, and said she would definitely come down the coast to eat here again. I ordered a fried chicken empanada with salsa criolla, and it was deliciosa. Crispy, well seasoned, and flavorful. I also had the loaded tostones with steak. 10 out 10 recommend. They were so wonderful. I didn't need to add salt or pepper to anything and the steak bites were so stinking good. This is definitely on my list of places to return to the next time I'm in the area.

The Tiramisu is delicious, the best I have ever had. Service is great, variety is good. They even have a variety of coffees. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Music is so soothing[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

What a pleasant surprise! Tango's was decided upon at the last minute, on a whim. Upon arrival, there were just a few other patrons but the interior was lovely. The spaciousness, greenery, blue color of the walls, and mellow music gave the entire place a relaxing, unpretentious, easy-going vibe. There were flat screens too! One of them displayed delicious, attractive menu items along with descriptions. That was a great marketing investment. The pictures alone were mouth-watering. The menu had a very nice variety of options. There were salads, rice bowls, hot sandwiches, burgers, a kids' menu, specialty entrees like seafood and steaks, pinchos (marinated, skewered meats), and desserts. There are lunch specials during the week and beer & wine are offered. If you go, you'll find something delicious to eat. Service was straight-forward and we didn't wait long for our food. The "Hubs" said that his classic Cuban Sandwich was the best that he's ever had, due to the tasty, tender, juicy pork and homemade bread. At first, we thought a few items seemed rather pricy, but I quickly noticed the quality, taste, and attention to detail with the food. You can taste the love and care in the food. In addition, the portion sizes were substantial. I concluded that the food was an excellent value for the price. We're already planning to go back again. This place is definitely a jewel.

The best Cuban Sandwich, plantains, and a side of chimichurri.

We had made reservations ahead of time, and when we arrived, we were seated immediately. That set the tone right away, no waiting, no stress, just walking in and being welcomed like the day actually mattered, which of course it did to us. Our waiter, Elijah, was outstanding. He struck that perfect balance, attentive without hovering, always nearby when we needed something, but never interrupting the flow of our dinner. You can tell when someone takes real pride in their work, and that's exactly how he came across. It made a difference. For dinner, I ordered the Shrimp Salteado, and Cheryl had the Chicken Salteado. Both dishes were excellent, rich with flavor, perfectly cooked, and exactly what you want from the Columbia's Spanish-Cuban style. My shrimp was tender and well-seasoned, and Cheryl's chicken had that same depth of flavor that makes you slow down and really enjoy each bite. Nothing felt rushed, nothing felt off, just consistently great food from start to finish. What makes the experience even more meaningful is the history you're sitting inside. The Columbia isn't just another restaurant, it's part of Florida's story. It was founded in 1905 by Casimiro Hernandez Sr. in Ybor City and has grown into Florida's oldest continuously operated restaurant. Knowing that you're dining in a place with that kind of legacy, where generations of families have gathered for celebrations, adds something you can't really replicate anywhere else. As we sat there together, celebrating 31 years of marriage, it just felt right. The atmosphere, the service, the food, it all lined up with the moment. Everyone we encountered was attentive and genuinely kind, and that consistency is what turns a good dinner into a memorable one. For us, it wasn't just a meal. It was the kind of experience you hope for on an anniversary, one where you can relax, reflect, and just enjoy being together. And today, the Columbia delivered that perfectly.

She lives in Saint Augustine and had chosen this location because it was walking distance from our hotel, very convenient. The restaurant was hopping on a Monday night and it was good she had made reservations. Although we had a great time, I felt the food was only OK given the marketing oversell in the menu. (All quotes following are from Columbia's menu). I often like to try a restaurant specialties, especially far from home. First I had "Columbia's Original "1905" Salad® The Columbia's legendary salad tossed tableside" as a side salad. It was nothing special, hardly "legendary". For the main course I again relied on the menu and chose "Merluza a la Rusa - A Columbia classic since 1935. Spain's favorite fish". Again, disappointing given the description. The fish was somewhat bland and the top coating was burnt. If this is Spain's "favorite fish"there must be a dearth of seafood there. For dessert I chose the Key lime Pie: "Key lime pie is the "Official Pie of the State of Florida."". Decent Key lime pie but nothing memorable. However, I must say the bread that comes to your table is outstanding. The Columbia is obviously a Saint Augustine institution but I wish the food had come closer to the flowery menu descriptions.
