For my 100th Yelp review, I wanted to write about a place I truly love. Call me sentimental, but I thought that #100 should go to a place that I hold on the highest pedestal, even if nobody else knew the count. There isn't a single place I could think of that could take this spot other than Tango. Why? This place doesn't try to be something it isn't. The restaurant is cozy and almost always packed. The food is straightforward and delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive. And you can roll in with $100 for two people and roll out with enough meat to feed you for the next week in leftovers. Normally, I go through a breakdown of every aspect of a restaurant, but since I completely adore Tango and have so many amazing memories here, I'll just point you in the direction of the best things to order. First- the chimichurri. They're going to bring a bowl to the table. Ask for a second. Trust me, you'll thank me later. Definitely try the sangria, and just go for the full pitcher. Then order a second of that too. Personally, I love the skirt steak, but they also offer grill platters with various types of meat. Definitely a great way to go, especially if it's your first time there. Just go here. Eat everything. They don't take reservations on groups under I believe 6, so you may have to wait. But trust me, you'll want to wait. And then you'll be back again and again. read more

I think this restaurant seats both sides of it specifically as one side definitely did not have the birthday singing every 20 minutes and a lot of families with kids. With that being said, this place is not shy with portions. They give you so much food for a reasonable price. The chimmichurri is to die for. We got the platter for 2. Very impressed with this restaurant for its location. My buddy and I split the Parrillada Tango Special, which is a steak grill platter for two. This came with a side of salad and potatoes. Both tasty as well. I gave it 4 stars because some reason when I was there, it smelled like they were having a bathroom plumping issue on one half of the restaurant where they originally tried to seat us. Been going here several times during the years. Service seems to be not too well. Used to be amazing now they forget to bring you utensils had to ask several times for the table. Would have never guess this place was in the area with all mechanic and auto body shops. I was getting Cary R car serviced and was hungry and found this place was in walking distance. I came in just past noon and was the only one and was seated right away. All the tables are covered with white table cloth ans was arranged with wine glasses, plates and utensils. The menu is pretty comprehensive- I asked if the steaks were prime and they're not, it's choice, but of course it's reflected in the prices. I decided to go with the paella for 1. I don't know if it was because I was super hungry, but it was delicious. Chicken was perfectly cooked and moist. The shrimp was a tad bit over but the flavors were spot on. Not over seasoned, just done well. I would come back to try it again, as I'm not sure how much of the saffron flavor came through- not like I'm an saffron expert but would be curious to try it again when I'm no keeling over with hungry. The portion was huge and I was unable to finish. Oh the table bread was also amazing- I felt like they just baked it; piping hot. If you like paella, give these place a try. read more

This is a good restaurant if you go on busier days where the food is sure to be fresh. The steak has good flavor and reasonable pricing, I recommend the Grill Platter for two. The appetizers are good too, the chicken empanadas and calamari is my favorite. The main issue is the sides, maybe I am spoiled but I was just put off that the mashed potatoes are the cheap instant kind. I don't recommend it at all! Go with roasted potatoes or literally anything else but the mashed. This restaurant is also on uber eats and I have ordered out from them and thats where my major complaints are. The take out here is INCREDIBLY inconsistent. I have ordered out 3 times just to give them the benefit of the doubt. But twice the medium rare steaks I ordered arrived well done. And the third time a guest I had over really wanted mashed potatoes so I ordered it and it arrived spoiled. It was bitter and tasted like spoiled milk. I recommend you eat at the restaurant, the service is better and the food quality is WAY better. read more

What a gem of a steakhouse! I didn't know what to expect this was my first time at an Argentinian Steakhouse but I totally impressed. We came here for a Birthday Dinner. Started with a pitcher of red sangria then moved onto the white. Both were delicious but I preferred the white. We got the chicken empanadas for the starter, they were so good! Also they were baked and not fried which is my preference. Move onto the dinner we got the meat platter for two! We were able to share it with four people and had so many leftovers! The steak was seasoned and cooked just right! No complaints. For dessert I had the cappuccino truffle dipped in a dark chocolate shell. Everything was so good and our waiter was so nice. Wow. What a great place. Chimichurri sauce best I've ever had. Great on bread, roasted potatoes and meat. Appetizers are great- I like the provolone and sauteed spanish sausages with onions. Red sangria is very good. Prefer it over the white. The chicken cordon bleu is phenomenal. The papa asada, salad or french fries (add salt and pepper) is a great side. Tango is a great place to go to with family and friends, to have a great meal. Last night, we ended up here, after leaving Bayside clam bar and grill, in East Islip, due to weather conditions made it not possible for us to sit outside. It started to rain, around 6:30 PM. We were a party of 10 people. While we were driving out of the Marina, my uncle called Tango restaurant. Luckily, for us there was a spot for our group. By 7pm, we arrived. It's a cozy place with a recently added outdoor terrace to dine alfresco. The decor is nice, simple and dark. Upon arrival, one is greeted by the host and very polite, masked staff. There's a beautiful, large dark wood wine rack adjacent to the indoor dining area. My aunt ordered a pitcher of sangria. I highly recommend the food, drinks, and the appetizers were simply outstanding. The chicken and beef empanadas were delicious! Buttery, flaky crust. We were also given the complimentary toasted bread basket with butter. Let me not forget the two platters of fried calamari also! Golden crisp, fried to perfection. It came with marinara sauce. Since this is an argentinean steakhouse, everyone ordered grilled skirt steak. The meat platters are huge! I saw waiters bringing out trays of smoky deliciousness to the dining room. The skirt steak I ordered came with French fries. Those were the best fries I've ever had in my life! They were crisp and piping hot! The waiter brought a bowl with chimichurri sauce. It was a nice touch to cut the richness of so much meat! I liked the fact that the restaurant arranged tables to be distant from one to another. It also has seating booths, that are suitable for a romantic dinner. Once again, I highly recommend this place for grilled steak and for having a good time out, in times of the COVID-19 pandemic. My boyfriend doesn't even wanna go anywhere else. This place was amazing, it's super close to where I live and all my friends have curiosity about the food and it was simply amazing. Had calamari to start with. They had some Tropical specialty drink that my boyfriend ordered and it was amazing. Then I had a skirt steak with rice, my boyfriend had a sirloin. Our very 1st time & it was amazing. The steaks were juicy, even the roasted potatoes were tasty. We are definitely coming back here. I unfortunately did not taste the Sangria, but was told it was very good. Well worth the $. Minor downs were, although we asked for ice in our beverages we never got ice, & one of us ordered the meat well done & had to send it back twice in order to accomplish that. In a word Delicious. Well prepared meats, delicous and generous sides. The chimichurri about the best I've had anywhere. The empanadas were SO good. Attentive service. Plenty of parking (when we came). Reasonable prices. Accommodating to large groups. What else can you ask for???? I had the rib eye, could only eat half. Another woman at the table had the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp, ate half. The man in our group finished the enormous filet but couldn't finish the delicous creamed potatoes. THE GOOD: Food is absolutely fantastic, to me this is the best place in long island for argetinan churrasco. THE BAD: Drink selection is very limited, they only have sangria and very few other drinks THE UGLY: Crew is kinda mean and dont treat their customers accordingly. I asked for a booth and they told me they were only for 4 or more customer, whcih is absurd, if they offer a seat i should be able to sit there. thats how it is everywere but here. So if you dont mind the short beverage selection,not being able to sit where you want or if your party is 4 or more you will have one of the best churrascos of your life If it wasnt for the lack fo drinks and the bad service i would give it 5 stars read more

The food is pretty normal we ordered "parrillada solo carne para dos" they didn't even cook the meat right the steak was hard and missing flavor, the same with the filet mignon. Is not a cheap place so you would expect a much better quality of food. So if you ask me you would recommend this place well I will say go and spend your money somewhere else. read more

This restaurant was highly recommended, so we came here with friends. The white sangria tasted like pineapple juice, but packed a yummy liquor punch!! We were disappointed there were no soup choices to start the meal with. The empanadas (both chicken and beef) were dry; definitely needed a cheese added to the filling, or a sauce for dipping. The guys ordered the meat platter to share and they were very happy. I had the mixed seafood over rice, which was a large portion and delicious. Someone else had the shrimp stuffed salmon, and they loved it. The Flan was okay. Overall, the main course entrees were good enough for us to want to come back and try other dishes. read more

I've had my fair share of steaks and I'll tell you that at a price point of $29, there aren't many places that have done a better job (I had a steak at Gordon Ramsay's Steak in Vegas and this was better). The Tango salad for one ( enough for two) is a must and the steak anyway you get it is cooked to perfection. The Covid restrictions they have in place made us feel safe but never rushed. The best experience I ever had at a steak house HANDS DOWN. We got a lot of food because WE HAD TO GET AS MANY ITEMS AS WE COULD POSSIBLY EAT. The service from Alex specially and just everybody else's was exceptional. The food... just wow. From the sangria all the way to the cortado... 10/10. I would highly recommend this place to everybody who enjoys a good piece of REAL MEAT. We drove from queens all the way to LI in the middle of a snowstorm AND IT WAS SOOO WORTH IT. Steak anyone? That's what I was thinking before arriving at Tango Argentinian Steakhouse. It took only a few minutes after looking over the menu and a short conversation with my server Francisco before steak became the furthest thing from my mind. I decided on the Paella and what a great decision that turned out to be. It was a Monday night a little after 8 PM when I arrived without a reservation, the restaurant was about half filled, well lit, white linen covered tables, a well dressed staff and décor that matched the theme. After a few minutes my warm fresh crusty bread arrived with a few pads of real butter along with my iced tea (I was a little hesitant to order the tea after I was informed they only have flavored sweetened tea but it turned out to be quite flavorful and found it only slightly sweet). My paella arrive after about 15 minutes, freshly prepared and piping hot - the bowl was assembled in layers starting with a very rich smoky broth immersing extremely large meaty clams fully opened, topped with perfectly cook rice that had been steamed in the liquid, folded in were small chunks of chicken and thinly sliced Argentinian Sausage along with large tail on tender white shrimp and an abundance of large fully cooked mussels - I opted out of the calamari. The fresh seafood was plentiful and I knew from the moment it arrived there was no way I would successfully eat it all, believe me I tried but it wasn't possible. This was no doubt a perfectly executed dish that provides you with a great alternative to steak, although I didn't try the steak I observed lots of it and the fire grilled aroma was just as tantalizing as the Paella believe me. What a pleasant surprise how much my family and I loved this place. Literally went here once over 15 years ago. Restaurant was packed even at 3 PM on a Saturday with happy diners. The smell of delicious grilled meats hits you as soon as you step out of the car. Friendly quick service, starting with warm crunchy Spanish bread and butter. Shared a pitcher of the best red sangria ever, bold and deep in flavor, delicious. Opened with a crunchy and perfectly presented fried calamari with a spot on red sauce to dip it in. Winner. Then main entrees of seafood paella, 2 different well seasoned and perfectly grilled steaks, plus a breaded chicken cutlet smothered in a creamy broccoli sauce were all very good. And their signature garlicky chimmcurri sauce was the best we ever had, I smothered that on my steak and sides. Speaking of sides, French fries or salad were also perfect. Then after packing up to take home half the dinner entrees, still found room to order decadent flan and panquetas (crepes) stuffed with caramel, hello.
