If you don't feel like driving out to Riverhead, the arches is a good choice. It's smaller but I find this to be more appealing than the overwhelming vastness of the Riverhead location. They have all the standard outlet stops like jcrew, banana, American eagle etc. The layout is a lot prettier then just being a long strip of outlet stores. It's just like a mall except you can enjoy the fresh air and sun while walking around. If you want a outlet shopping experience but don't feel like traveling far, try it. However if you're a crazy outlet shopping extraordinaire, you might not be as impressed by the selection of stores. read more

Yup, I'm a fan of Tanger in Deer Park. Because unlike the one in Riverhead, where it looks like a strip mall on steroids, the one in Deer Park has a much more appealing feel to it. The design and architecture is what draws people in. The openness allows people to freely and comfortably walk about. The water fountain (in summer) / ice skating rink and Christmas tree (in winter) is a big draw as well. My wife enjoys the shopping and farmer's market in the summer. My kids enjoy the quarter-operated rides. And we all enjoy the great open environment for the entire family. read more

Ok its been a minute since i was here. I love this fucking place. But im always broke. So i finally had some extra holiday cash to spend and i met my friend Melanie here. I bought 2 pair of converse that are epic and a jean jacket at Old Navy. Some crap i didn't need at Bath and body works and then we saw a movie at the Regal. We also ate at Johnny Rockets. This mall sucks. I live walking distance and I'd rather drive to Roosevelt field or even Riverhead than to shop here. The stores selections for men are lacking, and if you end up finding something decent at Calvin Klein or Saks off 5th ave the prices aren't "outlet" prices. However the Christmas Tree Store is what allows me to give 2 stores. Besides Xmas decor, they sell a lot of quality home decor pieces for cheap. I highly recommend this store to everyone on the way in or out of the mall. Otherwise this mall is not worth the travel. read more

Sales sales sales! First of all, Christmas tree shop. It is the best almost dollar store I can think of. They sell everything. It's clean, and pretty busy all the time. There are good food options like Nathan's, Chipotle and more... It's walking distance from the Deer Park LIRR station. There's a movie theater.. I mean you can spend the whole day and your whole paycheck. Tanger started making their outlets look like they are straight out of Disney but it's cute and it makes people happy to shop. read more

A lot of stores, and places to eat, has a pretty big movie theater ( also has I-MAX) when ever i am there i feel like I'm at Disney World.

I never thought this Tanger would do as good as it is but to my surprise its brought life to Deer Park, not that it needed it. It's very different from its older brother out in Riverhead which I prefer. It's very clean, smoke free, and although they have no food court they have quiet a few restaurants here which make up for it. If your looking for dessert try the Belgian Chocolate Shake from Haagen Daaz, you might come out a diabetic but it's worth it. I come here mainly for the movie theater which if you come to on a big opening weekend, you'll find your way waiting out the door because of some "tryhards". The Regal theater gets packed easily on the weekend and forget the concession stand line, its longer there than it is to actually get your ticket. read more

Overall, I've gotten good deals at stores here. Not sure where people say it's packed. Many times it isn't and you can't complain about any retail establishment if it's crowded during the holiday shopping season or summer weekends. Parking can be better too especially on weekends, but that may be more a product of the way the property is designed. Free wi-fi hotspots need a lot of work. I'm a little mixed about the new outlet mall in Deer Park. On the one hand, they do have some good deals (two suits at Banana Republic for under $200? Win!) and some stores that are not in the area (Neiman Marcus, Saks, etc.). The atmosphere is also very nice and not typically outlet center-ish. Now that Nathan's and Johnny Rockets are open, they also have some good food choices for hungry shoppers. On the other hand, about the third of the stores are still unopened. What's up with that? Also, as someone who lives in the area and uses the Deer Park train station, the traffic if awful during the evening hours. It takes me four minutes to get to the train station in the morning and 25 minutes to get home. Ugh! And lastly, the mall cause terrible light pollution. The parking lot lights are ALWAYS on, so now it is always dawn by my house, even at 3am. read more

I love this outdoor outlet in the summer time. It has a great Caribbean feel to it (probably because of the music they play and architecture of the place lol.) Shop at your favorite stores, grab some food and sit by the water fountain. Variety of food places is eh. Chipotle and Miller's are my go to places to eat. There is a great variety of stores for your shopping needs: Clothing, shoe, sunglasses, kids, jewelry, fragrance, and kitchen stores are some. Enjoy a movie at the movie theater or a coffee at Starbucks. Only downside is when the winter season comes. To go from store to store you must deal with the cold weather. read more

Based on the reviews I've read here, I don't think this place is overrated. I think this place is more convenient in terms of traveling. They have all the store that I need (Nike, Gap, Old Navy, Coach, Saks, Nordies, etc.) and even though I get lost walking around to find them every time I come here, it's ok! It's not so big that's it's overwhelming and not too small that I feel let down when I'm done spending my big bucks. The one thing I will say is that they need a few more food selections. We have come on weekdays and weekends and this place never feels busy or overwhelming. It's a nice alternative to Riverhead or even Philly when I don't feel like driving a million miles. read more

I really enjoy walking around the Tanger Outlets. It is always clean and even when there are a lot of people around the space between stores is so wide that you never feel crowded. I don't necessarily think the deals are great, although I do try to take advantage of the 20% coupons in the mail. If you are a label chaser, then I think this is a great place to shop. David Tutera was at this Tanger this past May so it obviously has to be a classy establishment. There is no sense driving out to River Head if you live west of Deer Park. This place is great and has everything you need including a Miller's Ale House to relax and grab a drink after all that shopping. read more

I really like this outlet center located centrally on Long Island. They have many popular bran stores and some good places to stop and eat. I would have given them 5 stars as a shopping outlet but I think the parking here isn't very good. This definitely beats driving all the way out to the Tangers and you can even stop at the movies after an evening of shopping! read more

I come here often because I love walking around the outlet itself and love a lot of the stores in this outlet. But I do have to say considering it's supposed to be an "outlet" I do consider them to be the same exact price as the non "outlet" stores. Very clean which is very important to me. It is a great place in the summer due to outdoor events but right now they do have a small skating rink. I enjoy a few of there stores like the christmas tree shop and the Nike store. The Movie theater is also a big hit. The only think that I dont like is that there just aren't great deals. When you think Tanger you think outlets which these store are not. Not my first choice to go shopping as i prefer an indoor mall but not the worse place to go shopping.. read more

Went there on June 28th and found a pair (last pair probably floor sample) of Adidas parleys for $80. I asked the sales guy for the other pair so that I can see both. He saw the shoes and the price and checked them out for himself. He hesitated and had a chat with his female co- worker and never got me the shoe- never came back out from the back (no one else was in the store). When I asked the female co worker, she disappeared for about 30 seconds and returned to say they couldnt sell it to me because it was a mismatch size (other shoe was a different size). I asked to see them for myself and was told they could not show them to me because they cannot sell them. I knew they were lying. I recently went to Deer Park Tanger outlet and the experience was successful and serene. It wasn't crowded. The stores had everything I wanted. The quality and brands were phenomenal. The prices were also great. Being a member helps because of the extra savings with the coupons. Parking is free and availability is abundant. read more

I don't really care for shopping, but I always find something to buy when I come here. Maybe it's because of the big Junk Store Christmas Tree Shop where I can do all my shopping in one place for really affordable prices. Or maybe it's the Nike Store where I can kill a great amount of time and money in, or is it one of very few Mets Clubhouse store I am able to visit. If you currently drive from Brooklyn or Queens to Roosevelt Field for shopping, just drive the extra 10 minutes to Exit 39N on the southern State and head over to the Tanger Outlets in Deer Park. There are not many food choices but plenty of shopping choices. All of the basics are taken care of (shoes, sneakers, mens and womens clothing, kids stores, jewelry and accessories). Like most outlets, the prices are lower than your average mall store with the same name. Examples: Grab a hat from LIDS for $10 in stead of $30 like your local mall. Get your child's uniform half the cost of that Children's place in the mall. Get two pair of shoes or sneakers for the price of one from Nike, Timberland, Kenneth Cole, Reebok or wherever. For food choices, the main strip has plenty of food options from restaurants to fast food. There is a movie theatre here and a nice circle that may be delightful in the warmer months but I have only been here during the winter. Take a trip out here with the intention of purchasing something. read more

Pretty mall, completely outdoors however, but there are a few corridors that have pretty awnings over the entire walk. Gets more busy in warmer weather and during peak holiday season, but generally it's a quiet mall that doesn't get very crowded often. Doesn't have a large selection of stores, at least not as many as the outlets in riverhead. The mall can be quite confusing, even for those that shop frequently. I've worked at a store here for the last 3 years and not only do I hear this complaint all the time, but I have trouble directing people as well. It's a giant inner circle, so it involves parking and a lot of walking. It's overall a well kept and nice mall to visit, especially in the summer time and Christmas time like I mentioned earlier. Also, they have concerts either more local groups or upcoming people every Saturday, which definitely brings a lot of people. That can either be nice or slightly inconvenient due to the loudness and crowds of people. Avoid mall in winter time, the arches turn into wind tunnels of death. And the food court is less than impressive, mostly all greasy fast food. Has a nice movie theater and beautiful decor, id probably give that the top plus for this mall. read more

As an outdoor outlet mall in the Northeast, this place is only enjoyable for 3-4 months of the year. It is purposely designed with curving passages so that you may never find an exit. The longer you stay, the more chances that you will stop in that Izod store - "come on... you remember Izod? Don't you? I mean, we were all the rage in the 80's! Please buy something!" So just pull in and immediately notice all the large SUV's parked in the "Low Emitting Vehicle" spots- That is all you need to know about the clientele that shop here. Take my advice and drive the extra 45 minutes to Riverhead. read more

I just visited Tanger Deer Park again this past Friday. Still a wide selection of stores and good deals. You can't really plan on getting specific things at an outlet mall. You can go with a list, but don't expect to get everything on it. Still, I always do well. My one gripe now is that Suffolk County, where Tanger is located, has a new policy of not allowing stores to give plastic bags for merchandise, which went into effect January 1. So the stores either have no bag for you or they charge 5 cents for a paper bag, which is pretty flimsy on a wet rainy day, which is how the weather was the day I was there. Why not post this new policy on the website home page? And why not sell a Tanger carrier bag at the shopper services office where you get your coupon book? I always bring extra large shopping bags to consolidate my purchases, but a lot of people don't. Plus I don't get there by car - I take the LIRR and shuttle bus - so if I hadn't had bags, I probably would have voided some of my purchases since some stores had no bags. It's not smart to not publicize a new policy that is potentially very inconvenient for some of us. I have nothing against protecting the environment, but again, put it on the website so we know ahead of time. read more

I love these outlets. I've only been to riverhead once but these seem nicer then the ones in Riverhead. When I come here I feel like I am in Disneyland for shoppers and I am a shopper when budget allows me to be so I just love it. They have an awesome movie theatre so you can come here just to see a movie or you can rest in between shopping and take in a flick. The christmas tree shoppe is open all year round and has many other items for sale besides Christmas items and everything in the store is below normal retail value. It's like Walmart without the people of walmart and with a little bit of Christmas thrown it. The Coach outlet is amazing, I got a bag for Christmas from there and I couldn't believe the price I got it for. I want to shop here again, and again, and again. read more

Not as much fanfare and options as Tanger Riverhead or Woodbury Commons, but it's a lot closer to NYC than the other two. There tends to be probably more people that come here because of that. It also seems like a more family friendly outlet with its enclosed structure. There's plenty of areas to sit as well. Only if they had more options I'd come here more often, but due to the lack of better and more stores it's just not as popular for those fashionistas looking for a bargain. read more
