Still hungry after eating here
Tee E.

The fortune I got was oh so fitting, I literally couldn't make this up. Oh my god. I ate here once before and didn't do a review. I wish I had, to save myself from myself. The only decent food here is the dessert, because they don't make it themselves. I didn't get food poisoning though. The beef and broccoli? Beef was dried like jerky. Broccoli had been boiled in soya sauce and then dried out. The batter on the lemon chicken was so hard I almost cracked a tooth. The lemon sauce tasted mildly of Sunlight dish detergent. Maybe that's how they got the color. Sweet and sour pork did not taste like pork. Shrimp weren't shelled properly. Ginger beef was very stringy. Sesame chicken was bland. The vegetable chop suey was edible. Basa fish was in a weird sauce. Peppered chicken (I think) was well... peppered chicken. Won-Ton soup was bland. Onion rings were alright.

Probably the best value meal we've had during our time in Canada so far. $15 CAD for AYCE lunch…read morebuffet; drinks are $2.99 CAD and are refillable. We were seated immediately, and near the buffet area too. Grab a metal bowl and get started! Three types of noodles, lots of vegetables / other sides, three types of pre sliced / frozen meat, and lots of sauces! I'd recommend starting off with small portions of what you want to be mixed because the bowl fills up rather quickly, and if it's your first time here, you're not going to know which of the sauces you like mixing into your food. I wish the restaurant provided some beginner combinations for their newer patrons to circumvent this. After you grab your raw ingredients, you set them onto a counter where the chef will take them from you to cook! Definitely fun to see your food being made in front of you, but it's not that novel of a process so watching it the first time is enough to satiate you. Once done, just take your plate from him and you can move down to put even more sauce / toppings onto your meal before eating it. As I said before, I wish the restaurant gave us sauce recommendations to start ourselves out with because I found my first plate to be fairly bland; I either didn't use enough sauce or I didn't mix mine well enough to have a better depth of flavor. My second plate was much better. Service was a little lacking despite being seated quickly. Drink orders were taken and delivered in a timely manner, but it was a bit hard to flag our waitress down for a refill. Also, I had to wait a bit for the cook to come back from somewhere, and by that time other customers were also waiting for their food to be cooked as well. I can't imagine the wait time for getting your food cooked when this place gets busy. Overall, a nice experience and good value for what it was. Definitely could've been better though, hence the four stars.

Mongolian has been a favourite and my visit to Kamloops brought me to this place for a buffet lunch…read more. 14.99 for weekdays buffet and the concepts plays the same way as most Mongolian do , starting from picking an empty bowl and filling ur bowls with noddles veggies proteins and sauces for the thrill to grill by the grill Chef of Hoja. Good thing is that if you waste food here u need to pay a fine of $5 , so folks are cautious while taking second n third helping from the buffet . We asked the grill chef to add spicy teriyaki sauce to the mix while grilling , a minute grill makes the food quite appetizing ! The only disappointment I had was choice of protein is limited to beef/pork/chicken , no option for seafood ,one point lost by the place due to not much variety in proteins !! May be they will work on this in future !! Also tag ur food images on Facebook and get 5% discount . Visit was delightful!!!.

Every time I've come here, the food has been so delicious. It's my favourite place to get Chinese…read morefood in town. We usually get dumplings and soup to start, then the house chowmein, fried rice, beef and broccoli, chop suey for extra veggies, and I get Kung Pow spicy chicken, and Shanghai noodles for myself. We've also gotten the sweet and sour pork, and Ginger beef in the past. All were extremely tasty! Every server we've had there when we sit in has been very sweet, and we rarely have ever had any mistakes with the order when we're there. Only once in many years has take out been the wrong dish.

The most recent time we went, the bartender didn't know how to make a Long Island ice tea and asked the waitress for directions and made it wrong rather than check the correct steps, the broccoli in our chop suey was slimey and rotting, the beef was soft, oddly textured and tasted off, the utensils were dirty, and the staff told the kids that they'd send the robot cat waiter over with the food but never did, leaving them upset and disappointed too. The restaurant was fittingly empty, considering how poor quality the food and drinks were. We did not get the leftovers to go, as nobody even wanted to finish their plates. If you value fresh ingredients, clean dishes and utensils, and knowledgeable staff, I can't recommend going anywhere else more.

Amazing little Korean place that we sort of just stumbled into!…read more My dad got this fantastic little Spicy Avocado Tuna salad I had a massive hit plate of chicken udon with thick Yakisoba noodles and my mother had a fantastic Bibimbap (we all shared) which is a steaming rice bowl with your choice of meat and a mixture of vegetables with an egg on top! We also got sushi all to share, and needless to say we ordered far too much haha. Also presentation was all ON POINT. Could not recommend this place enough. What a little gem! Will be back with friends. PS service was incredible helpful without seeming overboard (you know what I mean restauranteaurs)

My best friend was here from the coast and we've eaten sushi at numerous restaurants there. Wanted…read moreAYCE so decided to try this one. Mistake! The interior was clean and well lit. We were seated quickly and given our menu papers to order. VERY surprised to find that items that are standard at other AYCE sushi restaurants were a 'charge added' at this one. In addition, many items like chicken karage, were not even on the menue. Given the lack of staff (no blame here-we let it go) it took quite awhile for the server to pick up our order sheets. The Sunomono Salad was the first hint that something might be amiss. It came in a glass cup and the vinegar was yellow. Apple cider vinegar instead of rice vinegar, I think. My friend, who LOVES Sunomono salad couldn't eat hers. Then our items came in dribs and drabs. A California Roll and a couple of Inari (even though the menu said 3 pieces per order, and we ordered X2 (which should have been 6 pieces) we received 2 pieces. Then came the Tempura (sans the 2 prawns that comes with it EVERYWHERE else-prawns were an extra charge) and then the Yakisoba. Finally, the teriyakis come. 2 beef and 2 chicken. Teriyaki? A pile of fried cabbage and onion and 5 measly tiny pieces of chicken and another pile of fried cabbage and onion and 2 pieces of beef. NO TERIYAKI SAUCE!! Even though we both love cabbage, neither one of us could eat all of it. Then there is this-if you do not eat all of each dish, you are charged for that dish separately. So, my friend was charged an extra $5 for her unfinished Yakisoba (more cabbage mixed into lukewarm noodles). We complained about the huge amount of cabbage for each of the hot dishes and I felt that they should have not charged extra for the yakisoba. All in all a very disappointing AYCE lunch. The rolls were fine-nothing special. The Inari was fine. Everything else was sub-standard or non existent and having to pay extra for items that are standard at other sushi restaurants is a money grab. I will never eat here again and I will encourage my friends not to as well.
