The food was fresh and delicious...I will definitely be visiting this restaurant again when I'm in town again. Our server- Tara, who happens to be a manager was friendly, informative and genuinely interested in our satisfaction. My only criticism was the fact that the restaurant was a little too warm for comfort. read more

Always pretty darn good but has gotten very expensive. $24 for prawns with sweet n sour sauce? Seafood dish costs are insane. Mushroom fried rice is good--lots of mushrooms. Appy platter is way overpriced and kinda pathetic! read more

The food was awesome and hot. Huge portions for a decent price. Excellent customer service and kept asking if we were okay 10/10

Yummy! The food was great! And fast. The parking lot is crowded and find a spot was not fun. I will be back. read more

Title: an absolute circus!!! 3.5 stars is for the food, typical western style chinese, now onto the bad. To preface, the restaurant was 30% full. The service is amateur hour! Wanted a "signature caesar" comes with 2 little spring rolls. I was brought the drink, spring rolls never arrived! (Inquired 10mins later) Like wth, don't bring the drink out unless it's fully done! How long does it take to deep fry 2 bloody little spring rolls!!! Cancelled that, and just had the normal caesar. Another guest in the group waited 10mins for her drink. "Oh, it's not very popular, so we had to get all the ingredients." Wth!? No water at the table, chopsticks had to ask for. Original server clocked out 1/2 way thru our meal, so we were handed off to another girl as we finished up. By no fault of the 2nd server, she didn't have a clue what was going on (separate bills etc) because the 1st server just buggered off! The VERY young mngr wanted to "make it right", but I was so pissed off, u just wanted to gtfo of there I'm not expecting 4 star service, just plain ole' "normal @ss service". Take out only if the price is right and that's up to you! What a service joke! read more

Really tasty Chinese food with large portions at a reasonable price. We ordered the Family Dinner for Six and it was plenty for our party of eight. The waitresses worked as a team and were all friendly. read more

I will definitely come here again. I had the vegetarian combo plate which came with sweet and sour tofu, chow mein, and Chinese vegetables. Everything was really good. The veggies were perfectly cooked. There was way more food than I could eat so I took half of it home. It was served piping hot. The decor is really nice. I think it's newly renovated. Everything is very clean. The waiter was attentive and very pleasant. read more

Moon Wok Chinese Restaurant - a plate of food - Dim Sum Near Me - Kamloops, British Columbia

On a positive note, the won ton soup was good. Ordered a combo plate as well and everything was cold like cold. I called them over they took it back and brought it back out and warned me the plate was really hot so I'm guessing it went in the microwave. Vegetable chop. Suey was way over cooked. Fried rice was decent as well as the sweet-and-sour pork. Certainly more expensive than any place. I'm used to going. New to town I'll give it one more try at some point but not feeling too optimistic. read more

we have ordered here lots but it definitely went down hill..... Most disappointing meal I have ever had from the north shore location. We ordered the meal for 4 from this location and we were actually disgusted. The ginger beef was soggy and undercooked, spicy squid was so salty that it was overwhelming, the sweet and sour pork was slimy with a dollop of canned pineapple placed on top. We called to see about refund the "manager on Duty" said they could only re-make it or give a credit unfortunately we were very turned off by the few bites we had that it was not what we were expecting or willing to pay for. We requested a refund multiple times even drove the food back even though we got delivery and still no refund. the "manager on duty" was not able to make a call without owner approval. only reason this is a one star is because of how he dealt with the situation and the driver was wonderful but it's obvious this is a problem from the top. fyi might need turn your deep fryer up read more

What a disappointment. Was staying at the Comfort Inn across the street, and figured I'd try this place out. I ordered the seafood and meat hotpot - prawns, mussels, squid, tofu, bbq pork, and chicken with mushrooms, snap peas, carrots and onions. The prawns were overcooked, the mussels smelled weird, and the squid was like chewing a tire. Everything else was cooked well enough... but so bland. There wasn't really any taste to anything. Nice big order, packed full of seafood and meat, but it was boring. No salt, no spices to speak of, nothing. I'd consider eating here again because of the reasonable price and portion size, but otherwise no thanks. read more

Moon Wok Chinese Restaurant - Hotpot - prawns, mussels, squid, tofu, bbq pork, and chicken with mushrooms, snap peas, carrots and onions. - Dim Sum Near Me - Kamloops, British Columbia

We just arrived in town and wanted something other than a chain restaurant. After reading some of the food reviews, we decided to try this place. I have to say that we were sorely disappointed. Service was poor to say the least. We came in BEFORE the supper rush and with the restaurant no more than 2/3 full, we waited for at least 45 min to get a 2 egg roll appetizer! Had to flag the server down and ask if it was coming soon and she says sorry but the restaurant was full and they were running behind. BS. When my wife let her know that we watched it get full while we waited suddenly food began to arrive less than 2 minutes later. Egg rolls were greasy and nasty. Ground beef and almost no veggies...yuck. Had to eat it because my blood sugar was too low! Almond chicken was incredibly bland. Kids meals consisted of nasty frozen breaded chicken fingers and no salt added bland fries... Even had to ask for ketchup! Terrible wait, terrible food, terrible experience. Only thing they did well was the mixed vegetables. I do not and will not recommend to others. How in the world this place was ever voted #1 Chinese place in Kamloops is beyond me. My five year old is more attentive! read more

Food was excellent, wait time on food not so much. Service was mediocre. Might have come on a bad day. Who knows?! Again, food was excellent. Huge portions for cost. Not much ambience in the place. Kinda bare. No Buffett. read more

Saw in the news paper it was voted one of the top people's choice Chinese restaurants, so decided we had to go. When we got there the restaurant was packed! Just moved up from Vancouver so I am on the hunt for a decent Chinese restaurant in town knowing that nothing will compare. Portions were huge and food was not bad. I've never been to Moon Wok prior, so I did not know how it looked pre-renovations, but the restaurant looked good afterwards. Only thing was that I am not personally a fan of the Chinese dresses the girls had to wear to serve food. Found it a bit tacky as you don't see any servers wearing that in Vancouver or in Hong Kong. Don't get me wrong, they were nice but those dresses are more for weddings and Chinese tea ceramonies, but that is my opinion. I would come back to try some more of the food. read more

ordered the combo b. the veggies had zero taste. still very firm. fried rice tasted like no seasoning was added. the almond chicken was good but 5 tiny pieces for 20 bucks feels like a giant rip off. have ordered here before but this is the last time. read more

Excellent food. Always fresh and fast. Love the choices of veggies! Combo plates are a great deal. Big portions!

For Western Style Chinese Food this place great. Huge portions! We bought the Moon Wok Special for one and shared it between the two of us and still brought leftovers back to the hotel! We enjoyed every garlicky bite read more

Horrible customer service. Don't bother doing take out. They don't give any cutlery when delivering to a hotel. Also they blame you for the lack of cutlery because it's their policy not to include 5 cent chopsticks when you order 40$ worth of food. Manager was unapologetic and downright rude on the phone. Don't bother with this place. Order elsewhere, it'll be money better spent. read more

Ordered food from this place last night and two out of three meals showed up. And when it did, it was cold.

Food was exceptional - you can tell they use fresh ingredients and not load it with msg. We had stir fry noodles, vegetable fried rice, ginger beef and sweet and sour pork. Yum!! Experience was made by our server Kaylee. She was personable, attentive, and made great recommendations. Top notch service. Thank you Moon Wok Kamloops for a great lunch! read more

I'm passing through Kamloops on my way back to my home in Las Vegas and stopped in at Moon Wok for take out. It was just before closing and I'm sure the staff were all ready to go home soon, but you would never know this from the attitude of the nice young woman who waited on me. Kaylee is an excellent representative of this restaurant! She made me feel at home and welcome. Kaylee helped me by recommending the perfect food selection and further suggested that while I wait for my order I might want to try a bottle of the beer they had on their daily special. So my very ordinary visit to place a take out order was turned into a hugely pleasant experience; all because of the attention that Kaylee gave me. And the food was excellent! My home town of Las Vegas boasts some of the best restaurants in the world, and the service is second to no place else. But Vegas service people have nothing on Kaylee. She would fit right in with the best restaurant service people on earth! Thanks Kaylee for brightening my day! read more

First off I travel for work a lot and finding a decent Chinese place is tuff. Unassuming location a bit out of town centre tucked into a small strip mall. No complaints, go there and try it out. Had a combo plate it was good. Fresh and tasty. I shoulda took a picture but I was hungry and forgot. Nice interior, modern decor. Staff was friendly and attentive. If management reads this you really should put a window in the Kitchen door. That's a crash waiting to happen. read more

This has been our go to for Chinese for many years. The portions were huge and the meals were fresh. The last three times we have ordered (take out of course) has been a disappointment. The portions have shrunk considerably to a point that it's laughable. Keep that in mind when ordering. read more

Tried to order delivery on Christmas Eve, we called and were told it would be no issue. We were informed it would be an hour and a half wait and said that it would be fine. After two hours we called back and were told it would be another two hours if they delivered it and half an hour if we pick it up. After two hours they had not even started it yet. In the background we heard the panicking manager yelling about how she could not take it. Seriously unimpressed. read more

We ordered from the Rogers place location and were told it would be an hour and a half. After two hours we called to check on our order and were told it would would be another two hours. If they had be honest and told us four hours when we ordered we wouldn't have bothered. So ridiculous and unprofessional. read more

Service was great, food was excellent. Good value for money. Would come here again if in town.

Food is good. Huge portions for the price. Service good. -1 star for the screaming brat in the corner of the restaurant. So family oriented restaurant. read more

If you like Chinese food do yourself a favor and try it out. The Moonwok special for one is a fair price and is a 2 day meal.

Very large delicious portions in the dinner for one combinations. The chow mein is always really fresh.

Ordered 2 combo dinners tonight to go. Got home and they're just not good at all. The beef from the beef and veggies is ice cold, theres zero sweet and sour sauce on the sweet and sour chicken balls and absolutely no flavour. The sweet and sour pork was awful. It was decent the first couple times I went there but this has convinced me not to go back. This dinner feels like they decided to rip us off because it was to go. read more

Excellent food! Great customer service! Our server Tara went above and beyond to make our dining experience perfect.

This restaurant and the one in Aberdeen are my go to for chinese takeout. They are normally very quick if you are picking up and I have not had many issues with my orders being wrong. When something is wrong they are very nice about getting it fixed. The 10% off on pickup cash orders over $25 is nice too as I always get it for the whole family. read more

I'm sorry but this was some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had. This review is for the Rogers Rd location. We went here because the hotel we were staying at did not have a restaurant. I used to work in a Chinese restaurant, and cook Asian food quite often but this was not only not good it had some odd tastes or no taste at all. We weren't very hungry, so we ordered the spring roll (very small but not awful), potstickers which were a strange dark color due to the copious amount of basil in them. Who puts Italian basil in potstickers? I've eaten a lot of potstickers and make them too and basil is not a key ingredient. I also ordered egg foo young which is hard to mess up. The portion was enormous but the taste was extremely bland and full of large hunks of tasteless cabbage. Can't wait to get back on the Rocky Mountaineer and get some good food! I gave it one star because the service was very fast and friendly and they had real Chinese tea. read more
