Sometimes you just need a warm savory soup for the chillier days. To my knowledge this was a relatively newer addition in the complex, and follows the malatang trend of picking your own ingredients (huge variety) and broth. I usually don't opt for many spicy things, so went for the chicken broth which was ok enough. Hard pass on the dry style sesame mix, which was difficult to eat with its odd paste-like texture. As the kitchen preps the dishes, ours came out surprisingly altered/ topped with herb garnishes (for visual presentation aesthetics?) - unfortunately not favored by my young son. Service was nice and inside was designed to be aesthetically clean, with a unique flowing river running through the large central community table. At the end of the meal, you can give your receipt to redeem ice cream, for which we received a Great Value/ Walmart brand ice cream sandwich; well at least my son enjoyed it.

Decided to hit up Tang Bar after my workout today. It's a Mala Tang (spicy hot pot) place packed with Chinese character. Originating from Sichuan, the dish lives up to its name. Environment: Probably one of the better-decorated spots in the whole Bellevue area. Clean, pleasant color scheme, and comfortable seats. Service: The staff enthusiastically helps you check out, reminds you about any allergens, advises on the spice level--just the right amount of attentive service. Food: Dozens of choices, a complete selection of veggies, meat, and protein. The beef quality could be improved; the wagyu was quite tough and lacked a rich beefy flavor--definitely a drawback. Supplement: A long time ago, because their wool was needed for clothing, Sheep couldn't be used for meat in the U.S. This policy was later changed, and people slowly started accepting mutton. Due to local breeding requirements and supply issues, sheep can't be raised for very long before being sent to market. But the key thing is, whether mutton tastes gamey depends on the animal's age--the older the sheep, the less gamey it is. So, personally, I wouldn't recommend putting lamb in your Mala Tang.

Tang Bar has personally become one of my favorite malatang places. The store is large and well decorated. They even have live fish in one of their tables. The staff were friendly and reserved a table for us while we were in line getting our food. The ingredient selection is one of the largest I've seen for malatang and they provide gloves when picking ingredients. I personally really loved their spicy broths, because I find most malatang places' "spicy" is not spicy enough. Although, don't be fooled by their sign. My friends and I all found the "Hot & Sour" to be the spiciest level they had, and it had a KICK. But other than that, they don't have much variety in terms of their broth types, and we found that their mushroom broth lacked flavor. The sauces and prices were standard for malatang. Whilst not everybody's favorite malatang place, I will be coming back for their spiciest broths and to try their other mixes and drinks.

Best decorated Malatang places of all the popular ones that I've seen. The Malatang format is different from hot pot in that they do the cooking in their kitchen, you just pick the ingredients, and I have to say, the Tang Bar selection is impeccable. Its layout is beautiful with the variety of meats, veggies, and other assorted sides. Love seeing Wagyu among the numerous beef cuts, all at the same price! I also appreciate the option for low sodium soup which maximizes the umami, especially their chicken broth. Even the sauce bar is well laid out, and the chopsticks rest under a sanitizing UV light ready for the taking. The staff are well trained and all in all it's a great experience from soup to nuts (ha). Don't forget to grab an ice cream bar before you leave, and take the leftover broth home to reuse at home!

They replaced Swish Swish. We came on a heavily rainy night this week when the parking lot was basically empty and there were only a few customers inside. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the hype built by influencers on social media. They close at 12 AM, and we were there hours before closing, yet the food bar, especially the protein section, was already very picked over, with only a few pieces left of each option. It was disappointing that they weren't replenishing food when it wasn't even close to closing time. I do appreciate that they require gloves before getting food. Some of the non-meat items were cut extremely large (maybe intentionally?), but since you're gloved or using tongs, you can break them into smaller pieces. I wish the sauce spoons were bigger. I did like that they have a UV disinfection device for their chopsticks. All of the nicer tables and booth seats had "Reserved" signs and weren't available, which felt odd on such a stormy, slow night. I highly doubt that many people had reservations. It felt more like they didn't want to deal with cleaning those tables. As a result, we had to carry our plates to a table right next to the entrance. Speaking of cleaning tables, the first thing I did before sitting down was wipe down our tables, which clearly hadn't been cleaned after the previous guests. On a non-busy night, with so few tables available for use, you'd expect much better. To make it worse, my friend put her white rain jacket on the seat and it ended up with a large stain. She's still upset about it. The chicken broth I chose was comforting on a cold, rainy night, but the flavor was mild for me and definitely needed dipping sauce. My friends ordered spicy broths and said they weren't as flavorful as YGF's. We made our own dipping sauce. The soy sauce they used was extremely salty and overpowered everything, while the sesame paste was so light that I couldn't taste it. There were a few pieces of "wagyu" left when we arrived. Whether it was real wagyu or not, it seemed to be thrown into the pot with everything else at once, as it came out overcooked and super chewy. The regular beef tasted much better. The highlight of this place is the interior. It's beautifully designed and decorated.

Okay! This was my first time at Tang Bar after seeing a few Reels and TikToks about it. The interior was nicely decorated, and I was amazed to see a running stream with live fish in the middle of the table! As for the food, the selection was good -- there's a wide range of meat and vegetables to choose from. For the broth, I went with the mild malatang. I'd say I can handle spice pretty well, but the mild was still a bit too spicy and not as flavorful for me. One thing I hope they can improve is allowing customers to choose whether they want the crispy beans in the broth. I found them a bit hard to eat and didn't want to waste them. Other than the spiciness and the beans, I would come back to try the other broths.

Clean arrangements, has less sodium option, opens late, have a lot of parking. Broth flavor is good the food choice could be more. overall recommend

Tang Bar is immaculate in vibes and options when it comes to making your own bowl for malatang. I mostly enjoyed the selection when it came to choosing meats because they also had wagyu! My bowl came to around $15 and I got it with the hot and sour broth. It was so delicious and not too greasy or as salty as other malatang places I've been to. My bowl was ready pretty quickly too! Can we just talk about the interior of Tang Bar though? It is so perfectly curated in nice decor and I thought it was so interesting that the center has a water centerpiece that included actual fish! What an interesting choice of decoration!

Same plaza as Asian family market, next to supreme dumplings. The sign was not lit up so we almost missed it in the dark. It looked pretty clean and there's a wide selection of ingredients (they even have pea shoots!) that were well stocked. It can be hard to find a seat here. Got the "just a kick," which is made with their chicken broth and a little spice. I like that they had the option to have less sodium. The sauce bar is kind of small but the food was already flavorful from the broth that I didn't think I needed it. My friend got the hot and sour, so I tried that but thought it was a bit too sour. The large table in the middle has a water feature in the middle and small goldfish swimming in it.

Came during their grand opening weekend for a very late dinner. It was predictably crazy busy! It took about half an hour to get inside. Staff was welcoming, the restaurant was clean, and the food items were organized and labeled well. Because it was the grand opening weekend, it got a bit crowded inside as people were waiting for their soups to finish and to get sauces made. But that's a one off issue. The taste of the soup (I got the hot and sour) was rich and ingredients were fresh. Would recommend.

Plenty of parking but also is really packed around dinner time, even on a weekday. When you enter, you grab gloves, a metal bowl, and tongs in which you grab the various ingredients you want in your soup or sauce. They have quite a selection of different meats, seafoods, vegetables, and noodles. It definitely makes it hard to choose what to put in your dish with only so much room in the bowl. Upon reaching the end of the counter, you choose either MaLaTang which is served with Broth or Savory Mix which is served with sauce. You can choose no spice all the way up to a 3 spice. I ended up picking the Szechuan Spicy which is their 3 Spice and hottest item, as a Savory Mix. After paying, you provide your name and they have a screen in which they call out your name and number and you pickup your food at the expo. Alongside that is also a self serve sauce bar with your typical mixtures. Vibe was overall good although I wish the layout was a bit more spaced out as the walkway to our dishes were tight to say the least. Flavor was definitely there but I will say that I am disappointed at the lack of spiciness when ordering Szechuan as I was expecting a numbing feeling. Hope there's a way to bring up the spice level in the future as the spice levels felt very inaccurate.

I am on a mission to try the 3 hot pot place in Bellevue to do comparison so this is my last place. I have to say I was pretty impressed compared to my previous restaurant. You have a nice parking lot so you don't need to worry too much about that. The staff welcomes you right when you walk into the door and explain how things work. The place is nicely designed, it creates a calming experience even though I can see that when it gets busy it can be crowded. They have this "communal table right in the middle so if you want to meet other people you can, or if you have a very large group. Food wise, the selection is not as exotic or adventurous as the previous place but good enough. I love the veggies options it has. I also love the broth options, it has a lot more variety. I got the dry style sesame with peanut sauce. My husband got the pickled veggies broth. The pickled veggies was really good. The tanginess balance out the saltieness of the Broth. The sesame peanut sauce was good but it was definitely on the blander side. Their sauce bar is a little small though so if you like sauces, don't come here. Overall a pretty good place for hot pot, I would come back

A new Malatang restaurant just opened, and I was so excited to check it out! It's located right next to Supreme Dumplings, with complimentary parking--super convenient. No reservations needed; it's first come, first served. The space is elegant and modern, and the service was friendly and efficient. It's a fully customizable Malatang experience with over 60 fresh ingredients to choose from, priced at $14.99 per pound. They also offer a variety of drinks like soda, slushes, and smoothies. There's a self-serve sauce bar and complimentary water. You can pick from 6 flavorful broths or 4 dry mix options. We tried the Szechuan spicy broth and the sweet & spicy dry mix--both were absolutely delicious! Can't wait to go back again soon! Opening Promotions: *Monday & Tuesday (7/28-7/29): 20% OFF your entire bill *Wednesday to Friday (7/30-8/1): FREE soda with each order (1 per customer)

The server sat us down but didn't mention about the QR code on the table so I sat there for about a min or two before I noticed. The whole menu and ordering was done all on your phone for the whole table. Not very much interaction. We ordered the spicy BBQ chicken skewers, the stewed beef rib noodle soup, and the normal beef flank noodle soup. The order came out relatively fast. The spicy BBQ chicken skewer was not what I expected. I was expecting a skewer like a kabob, but I received a few skewers with what seems to be thin pieces of ground chicken. The flavor was alright, but the chicken was VERY dry, which made it hard to enjoy. My stewed beef rib noodle soup wasn't bad. I got it with normal sized noodles and some beef flank on the side. The noodles were fine, but the soup could've been warmer. I was expecting a hot bowl of soup. The flavor was lacking a little, but it became much better after I added some chili oil. The rib meat wasn't bad. It had a a couple bites that were a tad tough but the flavor was kinda there. Honestly the extra flank pieces I had were better. Much better overall and it was pretty tender. I didn't really try my friend's bowl, but she got her soup with wide noodles. They were a bit wider than she expected. She made note that her noodles did seem undercooked and they had a slight doughy chew to them. She said it would've been better if it was cooked a little longer. Overall I enjoyed my soup. There are some things I would change, but I think it was a good first experience for something I've never had before.

The space is small and a little narrow, so seating can be pretty limited. My parents and I were lucky enough to grab the last table, and we ordered 4 items: the dry noodle with scallion oil and braised pork chop, the secret dumplings, large wonton, and salty soy milk (dumplings and wonton aren't pictured). I was most curious and most disappointed by the scallion noodle and pork chop. The portion size seemed too small to justify its price point, and I felt the pork chop tasted dry. The noodles however, had a great flavor, so if I were to try the place again, I'd only go for the scallion oil noodles. The dumplings were amazing. They were a little pricey but worth the cost, and worth the restaurant name. The dumplings were larger than most dumpling places I've been to, and the meat and soup inside were super flavorful. The wontons were also good, though it can't beat the pan fried dumplings. The salty soy milk was a very unique experience- it was thicker, rich and flavorful than other salty soy milk soups that I'm used to. It almost has an umami, seafood-ish taste to it. Though I'm not a big fan of soy milk, I enjoyed this dish more than expected! After our meal, we got to choose some magnets to take home, which was a creative and sweet gift. For the overall price point, I don't think I'd be coming here regularly for a meal. I may drop by for choice items like the pan fried dumplings!

There is plenty of parking and you just have to walk in and order with a QR code and then pay at the front when you're done. I didn't try their noodles as they seemed a bit expensive. I would return for the tea egg and wontons!

Noodle Nine delivers a genuinely authentic dining experience that feels like stepping into a slice…read moreof everyday Asia rather than a polished, commercialized version of it. From the moment you walk in, the cultural atmosphere stands out--many of the patrons are Asian, and on my visit, a few were even dressed in traditional garments, which added a vibrant, lived-in feel to the space. It's the kind of detail you can't manufacture, and it speaks volumes about the restaurant's credibility within the community. The interior itself is fairly average--nothing particularly modern or upscale--but it doesn't detract from the experience. If anything, it keeps the focus where it belongs: on the food. Service was a bit of a mixed bag. There were only two servers handling the floor, and they were clearly stretched thin. Ordering is done digitally, which helps streamline things, but you can still feel the strain during peak times. That said, the food started arriving quickly--our tofu noodle dish came out almost immediately, while the beef dish lagged behind a bit. Presentation leans traditional in a charming way. The plates and chopsticks have that classic, no-frills aesthetic that complements the overall vibe of the restaurant. Now, let's talk about the food. First, a word of caution: spice levels here are no joke. If you're sensitive to heat, you'll want to dial it down. But if you can handle it, the flavors are absolutely worth it--rich, bold, and deeply satisfying. The tofu was exceptionally soft, almost silky, and clearly freshly prepared. The noodles matched that texture perfectly--tender, well-cooked, and comforting. Pricing is another strong point. For the quality and portion sizes, it's very reasonable, making it an easy spot to revisit without hesitation. Overall, Nine Noodles is a great pick if you're looking for authentic flavors, a culturally immersive atmosphere, and solid value. It's not about fancy decor or polished service--it's about good, honest food. I'd definitely come back.

Happy to come across this restaurant, mostly because ever since Tian Tian Noodle lost their lease…read morein DT Redmond, I've been looking for a replacement for their dan dan noodles. No one else seems to do them the same way. Noodle Nine doesn't serve dan dan noodles BUT the dipping sauce for the scallion pancake is the same as what Tian Tian used in their noodles! I absolutely used it as a dipping sauce. The scallion pancake was great- SUPER crispy. Cucumber salad was really good but aggressively garlicky. Actually spicy from just raw garlic alone. Beef noodle soup was delicious- we added a fried egg (I would skip it next time) and extra noodles on the side.

    - one of our fav place-…read more It's kind of funny that I've never written a review for this place, even though we've been here countless times. It's always busy around mealtimes, but luckily there are plenty of seats, and we rarely have to wait. We also order takeout from here pretty often. For our most recent order, we got two personal combos (main + appetizer + drink) through a Chinese app, which frequently has discounts. I'm a big fan of their takeout containers--they keep the noodles and soup nicely separated. The takeout bag is super sturdy, and the popcorn chicken has just the right amount of spice to really hit the spot. That said, I'd still recommend dining in, because the food is easily about three times better. I also think the portion of popcorn chicken is more generous when you dine in. Plus, if you finish the soup, you'll be very full. My go-to order is the fatty beef tomato soup with rice (I know, I know--it's a noodle place, but I like it better with rice). My husband always gets the original Yunnan rice noodle. We've tried the golden soup version, but it's just not as good. The prices are reasonable... well, reasonable for Bellevue .

The reason I…read morecame back this time was because of recent reviews and social posting saying this is the best rice noodles in all of Seattle hoping that something has changed. I can on New Years eve for lunch and the place was open with no restrictions or any forewarning. But, I have to say that the place was severely understaffed. I think there was one waiter that was helping out the entire store. This was already off to a bad start. I go ahead and order the combo along with a few other stuff from the rest of the group. So the food starts coming out as expected which was good. Then the appetizers got stuck in prep. Which I was like ok that happens it's busy and they might be understaffed. But then I had to ask for the drinks so already it's off to a bad start. The drinks came and felt watered down. So let's talk about the food real quick. Its ok. But after the third time coming I have noticed a decrease in the quality of the paired dishes and the amount you get. Also there was a strong feeling of over teasing with a lack luster flavor profile. So to add the final straw, we were all done and had to wait 15 minutes for the last side dish to come. I tried getting it canceled or get some credit but the chaser said no and so we waited. Could have been much better in all aspect.

There was…read morea wait line but they serve fast and bring on 12th on the wait list took only 20 minutes. The space is open, bright and clean. We ordered The black fish fillet slices in pickled cabbage soup- it was very tasty. Huge portion for family style sharing. The tang from the pickled cabbage was very appetizing. It paired well with rice. The fried sliced potatoes with sliced pork and chili dry pot was also very good. Not a whole lot of pork mostly sliced potatoes with very good flavor so I didn't feel like I needed to have more pork. It tasted like the potato slices were deep fried and cooked in flavorful umami garlic and chili sauce. Another dish that's great with steamed rice. We also enjoyed the chewy bean jelly noodles in spicy sauce. It is quite refreshing as there is a nice tang to the spicy sauce. We ended the dinner with brown sugar ice jelly. It has some dried cranberries, a few pieces of tiny mochi, and almond flakes. It was delicious, and not too sweet. We look forward to be back to try the other dishes.

I've come for both lunch and dinner, usually shortly after they open, and never had to wait. Just looking at the crowd, you can tell this is an authentic place. As someone who travels to China frequently, this restaurant definitely meets my expectations. The Hunan-style spicy dishes really satisfy my craving for bold heat and flavor. I've tried the stone pot spicy tofu with meatballs, 梅菜扣肉 (braised pork with preserved vegetables), spicy lamb, stone pot black pepper beef, stinky tofu, and the fried oyster mushrooms. I loved all of them. These are the kind of dishes where you can easily finish a big bowl of rice--and still want more even when your belly is already full. I'll definitely be back to try more dishes. Service was prompt, and one small detail really stood out to me: during my first visit, they actually replenished the napkins mid-meal. With spicy food and the inevitable runny nose, that level of thoughtfulness is appreciated!
