A smaller restaurant with great food, comfortable ambiance and first rate service Tandav is nestled on a street corner off Broad St. Street parking is the only parking here so you might need to walk a little. Ambiance is nice- set in tables if two and four with seating for ~12 parties. The restaurant was very clean and had a good feel to it. It's a more romantic place, cozy but not setup to feel overcrowded. A great spot for a date Service is very friendly, with recommendations if asked and staff who care about your experience. A nice change from chains and carry out restaurants. Food is on point. We had chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, bhindi masala and garlic naan. Very good seasoning overall and the tikka masala had the right amount cream. Flavors were well developed and savory. Quantities of protein were good yet still plenty of sauce for naan dipping. Spice levels were a little mild compared to many Indian restaurants I have tried so I would recommend ordering one spice level up. The restaurant offers alcoholic drinks and has a decent wine selection. Prices are very competitive. We were very happy with our meal and overall experience. I would definitely recommend Tandav to you with high marks across the board. Cheers!

I used to order on a pretty frequent basis because the food is so delicious! The chicken makhani is amazing and probably my favorite thing on the menu. I would even say it's my favorite in Baltimore! It is super rich and subtly sweet. I also love their saag-- I've tried both the paneer saag and the chicken saag and both are delicious. The only thing I would change in their dishes is the texture of the chicken; I wish the meat were a little tender as it does tend to be on the dry side most of the times I stop by. When I've dined in, service is pretty quick. Lighting inside is a little dim but I like it. I can't wait to try more things!

Tandav is a local corner restaurant. I loved the atmosphere and service. My friend and I were the only one in the restaurant, so the waiter was really attentive. We started with vegetable samosas which were delicious. I got the Paneer Tikka which was so good with the garlic naan pictured. I believe they have a lunch special for a cheap deal! Recommend coming here especially during the winter months for warm food and environment. Pro: Portions Customer service Quiet Con: none

We walked to Tandav to order a couple lunch boxes and give this place a try. The young man behind the counter (Yash) was very friendly and told us his and his family's story, explained the lunch special, and made us feel very welcome. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, malai kofta, saag paneer, and chicken curry, along with a side of samosas and a mango lassi (to enjoy on the walk home). The lassi was one of the best I've ever tasted. Really stellar. We ordered all the dishes medium on the spicy scale, and they were perfect. The samosas were perfectly crispy on the outside and well-seasoned on the inside. The chutneys were both very tasty too - the brown sweet chutney and the green spicy chutney. The green chutney was a bit runny for my liking, but I mixed them together so it was fine. The main dishes were all finger-licking good. The gravy of the chicken curry was my favorite, and the malai kofta was my favorite dish overall. I will be ordering those again and will try several other menu items. At $11 per lunch box, it's a great deal. Each one can easily last two meals as the food is heavy. Very glad to have found this restaurant!

COVID lunch special

Tandav isn't the best Indian food of my life, but for consistency and the fact that they're always there for me in my hour of need, they get 5 stars. I miss their lunch buffet dearly (boo COVID!!), it has a special place in my heart because my pals and I would often come for lunch buffet--a cozy neighborhood spot. During COVID, they adopted a lovely lunch box special, which includes 2 entrees, rice, and naan for around $11. It's not enough for multiple meals like ordering an entree a la carte, but it really does the trick for a nice, filling lunch for a very decent price (especially for Indian food). I appreciated the chicken tikka masala (order spicy for sure!) and aloo gobi combination. The prospect of deciding and mixing and matching is a pretty fun activity. I gotta say I miss the goat curry from the lunch buffet, so maybe I'd try that next time. If for some reason you're like me, incredibly specific, and deciding between aloo saag and aloo methi, there's a very low methi ratio, so I'd opt for the saag.

Tandav is absolutely fantastic. The food is incredible and flavorful, the staff are the nicest people around! Order anything from here and you will not be disappointed. I usually order the basic Chicken Tikka Masala, it is so good and flavorful. The chicken Korma is also really good. The naan is great, must order. The Keppa Naan (I think that's the name) has minced lamb baked in and we love to get it when we are feeling extra haha. One time I accidentally got the Chicken Tikka Tandori, and it was actually really good, I wish I had a salad or just regular naan to put it on because it was literally huge chunks of really juicy and flavorful chicken, and rice of course. The lemon to squeeze on top was perfect, but def wanted more veggies. I would order again if I had some lettuce on hand. They also give you incredibly large portions, my husband and I can split one dish comfortably, or get two dishes with intentions on having leftovers the next day. I cannot recommend this place enough! Love it so much! Love the customer service.

What a wonderful neighborhood find! Stayed a night in the area and happened upon this place on my walk back to the AirBnb and glad I stopped in. Spicy lamb chili was excellent and service was very attentive despite a very busy meal delivery service counter.

Harbor Tandoor - LAMB SAAG, CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA

We got the Kale Chaat, amazing, still talking about it. Crispy kale, yogurt w/ mint, sweet and savory and crispy. Omg, you gotta get it, I want it again already! For dinner I got the chicken dumplings (momo) and my husband got the tandoori chicken. It was actually too much food! The momo was delish but the tandoori chicken was the star entree for sure. It came with a side of masala sauce which was so tasty to dip in. Everything was actually pretty reasonably priced as well. My only complaint is that it was freezing inside - lots of guests wore their coats! They had a ton of to go orders ready - I'd definitely do that in the future, but it is nice inside! One of my new favorite spots for sure, I'll be back.

It had vodka, Prosecco, mango, and passionfruit puree. It had a nice balance of sweetness and tartness, though it was not particularly sparkling from the Prosecco. The paneer chili ($9) was decent but not quite what I expected. The paneer was tossed with garlic, tomato based sauce, peppers, and onions, but it was softer and less crispy than I was hoping for. The veg jhol momo ($18) was interesting.... The menu mentions a Szechuan pepper based soup, but I did not get any Szechuan pepper flavor at all. Instead, the broth had a creamy, almost tahini-like taste. The momos themselves were fine, but the broth was not what I was expecting. The mixed veg jalfrezi ($16) was okay. It had a good amount of mixed vegetables in a tomato based sauce with green chilies, ginger, and onions. We ordered it very spicy but it came out sweeter than I preferred. The Goan fish curry ($19) was excellent. The tilapia was tender and the tomato coconut curry was flavorful, rich, and comforting. It had a nice balance of spice and creaminess. The garlic naan ($4) was soft, fluffy, and had a good amount of garlic and herbs. The beers were good too. The Taj Mahal lager was light and easy to drink, while the Haywards 5000 had a stronger, maltier flavor. Overall, service was good. Our server, Aro, was attentive. They have an outdoor seating area. Ambiance was upscale without the prices. They are located by a parking garage but there is also street parking available as well.

There's a few options to choose from and after trying each one, I think Nepal House has the best prices for the best quality and flavor. We ordered the butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and lamb vindaloo. Each came with its own serving of rice and included generous chunks of meat. They didn't just fill up the container with sauce and call it a day, the serving size definitely reflected the price unlike some other places. The lamb vindaloo was full of flavor and spice with soft squares of potatoes. The butter chicken was creamy and comforting with the right spice level. Everything was ready on time and packed with care. I'd love to return to dine in for their lunch buffet since it seems like a great deal.

I searched for the closets restaurant that was also opened on Yelp because that's a great feature, and found Nepal House. They have a banner on their site advertising their new extended hours of 11am til 1am. I was a little skeptical but figured it's hard to get Indian food wrong . . . They had a combo which came with your choice of specialty chicken, veggie samosa and naan. I opted for the butter chicken spicy level and garlic naan for an indulgent late-night meal before going home. That's the kind of comfort I didn't know I actually needed all week. I tried to order online but was having some trouble so called in for pickup. To their surprise, I was already outside, so when I was informed to arrive soon, I replied I was already outside. I went in after the 15 minutes my food was promised in and had to wait for a bit. I tried to make small talk with the young lady at the register but she seemed a little flustered for some reason. There was a couple seated in the main dining area but the bar was closed off. Ideally, I'd sit at the bar when I'm dining alone so I asked how busy the bar usually is and was informed it is usually packed. I didn't believe that at all because there were no signs of being used anytime in the near past at all. But ok. I continued to look around and noted the dated decor that was still rich in culture. My food was done and I paid. I've notice for some reason restaurants just hand you an amount on a machine and ask for you to pay. I asked for my receipt to ensure I wasn't being overcharged for anything and again she seemed flustered. She gave me the POS and said something, so I asked again but this time I asked to see what I was charged for. She then printed me a receipt and I waited to pay. Don't know what that was about but ok. Grabbed my food and walked fast to my car. I noticed a lot of people on that street either standing around or going in and out of businesses. I locked my door and proceeded to open my brown paper bagged late night dinner. First, I tried the veggie samosa which was steaming hot with very subtle flavors. I remembered asking if it came with sauce and was informed it did, so grabbed it out of the bag and dipped. It gave the samosa some more flavor but after seeing the dull green pea, I put it down and grabbed a piece of naan. It also lacked in flavor, and I couldn't taste any garlic. I opened my container with butter chicken and immediately dipped the naan in, like any good person would do. So hot, flavorful, creamy, seasoned, everything I needed at that moment. I would have jumped for joy but just grabbed the fork and went for a piece of chicken which was tender and I couldn't tell if it was a breast or thigh. So that meant if it was a breast, it wasn't dry but if it was a thigh, it wasn't juicy either. I was ok with the in between for the night. I didn't want to eat the rice but decided to indulge and scooped some onto my fork and then grabbed a piece of sauced chicken and quickly scarfed it down. I drove home and passed out in my parking space . . . . don't judge, mind your business. If you haven't passed out in your car after a good meal then are you really living? No, you're not. I'd go back for a late night meal if I'm in the area or if they are on my way back home again.

I am genuinely disappointed by my experience at Mount Everest Restaurant and Bar in the Inner…read moreHarbor. My wife, our 6-year-old daughter, and I stopped in for an early dinner after spending several hours at the National Aquarium. The restaurant's proximity (under five minutes away) and strong online rating (~4.6) made it an easy choice. We were also influenced by a promotion advertised on their website: buy two entrées, get the third (chicken or vegetarian) free. When we tried to order under that promotion, our server told us they had not run it in "many years." If that is the case, it should not be listed online. It factored into our decision to dine there, and advertising an outdated special is misleading. That said, my negative review is not based primarily--or even secondarily--on the inaccurate promotion. Restaurants ultimately succeed or fail on taste and execution, and that is where this meal fell well short. We ordered the Lamb Junelly, the Kabob Platter, and two garlic naans. The Lamb Junelly, which I requested at a medium spice level, leaned noticeably sweet. It contained surprisingly little lamb, and while I did not find it overly chewy, my wife did. Overall, it lacked depth and balance. The bigger letdown was the Kabob Platter (chicken tikka, lamb seekh kabob, shrimp, and chicken tandoori). All three of us agreed the chicken tikka was dry and nearly flavorless. That says something, given how hungry we were after skipping lunch. My wife captured it best: "I was so looking forward to the Kabob Platter, and I was so disappointed by it. I left the restaurant almost sad." I felt much the same. Service was acceptable but inattentive. Our server never checked in during the meal. Had he done so, I likely would have asked for lemon slices to brighten the kabobs. When we left--around 6:00 p.m. on a Thursday--we were the only guests in the restaurant, yet there was no acknowledgment from our server or the staff members sitting nearby. That absence of basic hospitality stood out. This is not an inexpensive place (garlic naan costs $7 apiece). At those prices, execution and attentiveness matter. On this visit, both fell short. Among the many restaurants I have visited, this would land in my bottom quartile. I would not return, and I would not recommend it--especially for the à la carte dinner service.

The workers were also kind enough to replenish our naan basket when it got low, making sure we had everything we needed. As an extra bonus, there was also dessert! The gulab jamun and rice pudding were both perfect in my eyes, the right balance of sweetness without being overpowering or too rich for me. I was disappointed to see, upon returning home, that they only gave us one side of rice for two orders of chicken tikka. That seemed a little strange to me especially since each order of chicken tikka was almost $20. I would've preferred butter chicken but couldn't find it on their menu - maybe I just overlooked it or they have it listed under another name?
