So glad to find this place near my friend's apartment. Found it through a Yelp search and ordered through the app with an Eat24 coupon. I was thinking of getting pad kee mao but my friend wanted pad thai so I ordered one too or I would be jealous of hers! She got mild and I got medium and WOW the spice on the medium was so good! I would have given another star if it wasn't so expensive to have shrimp as the protein on the pad thai, especially when I'm used to spots in NYC and Queens that have shrimp as the default, no extra charge. She liked the spice but wasn't expecting it, so if you don't want spicy at all there is an option for not spicy, only I didn't realize it on the app right away because the default is "mild". We also ordered Thai Iced Tea, but it seems the only option on the app is the small for $3. Would have preferred a larger size. read more

Best Thai food in the Bronx, hands down. I actually used to order Tana Thai for lunch at work back when they were located in New Rochelle, and I am so happy that they're now only a short walk away from my home. This is a restaurant that truly takes pride in their food. Everything is always perfectly prepared. When my husband and I visited, we first tried the vegetable curry puffs for an appetizer - perfectly flaky and very well seasoned. For my entree I had the sweet and sour chicken with jasmine rice which was absolutely delicious, but I also couldn't stop eyeing my husband's pad see ew. Both were just so good! We were so impressed we just had to have dessert, so we tried the fried bananas sans ice cream. Warm and crispy wrapper, filled with a melty banana, drizzled with honey and sprinkled with sesame seeds. The only thing better than a perfect meal is following it with a perfect dessert. I ordered via Uber eats and the calamari had freezer burn and is inedible. I called to complain and they refused to refund or rectify. I don't understabd how you see calamari that isn't fresh and still batter and fry it. It's rubber and orange. Disgusting. The food was made fresh with loads of veggies and fresh garnish as well . The service was also very good, staff was friendly. It's...acceptable. A very small, local place that is not worth a specific trip there for, so don't bother unless it's on your way home from work. Ordered for take-out and the lady said it would be half an hour because the restaurant was very crowded with sit-down customers to take care of. I would've thought the service was great if she just said come right away, we'll have it ready for you in ten minutes! The food was stupidly overpriced. It's $15 for pad see ew, $6 for 4 of the tiniest, saddest, curry puffs I've ever seen (tasted good, but bitter cause of the cost). You're in the Bronx...not Midtown. The tom yum soup had no flavor except spicy, I could've added chili sauce and tofu to water and it would've been the same. The soup was super red and it came with another small container of chili sauce. Adding more spicy does not make up for the the total lack in depth of flavor. I love Thai food and noticed this place had been open in the neighborhood for a while now. There aren't many, if any, Thai food places in the area. We decided to give take-out a try on a Saturday night. I looked the menu up on Seamless and ordered by phone. The person speaking was very pleasant and patient while ordering. I also asked for a total before heading over there and I was happy to see the prices matched those listed online. I was told the food would be ready in about 15 minutes, but in actuality it took closer to 25. I got to the area and as expected the parking is tough. There is a Dunkin Donuts, a Deli, a Hookah lounge and a large restaurant (Good To Go) all next to each other so there are many people double parked there. Luckily there is a bus stop there, so you can get away with parking there with your hazard lights on while your food is being prepared. I ran in and my food wasn't ready, so I gave them my name and the woman told me to go wait in my car and that she would call me when it was ready, which she did about 10 minutes later. I ran in, paid and picked up my food. The interior seating area is nice with a few tables available for dining in. I believe the menu is the same as take out. The prices are very fair and on par with most Thai places. We got chicken wings (5 drummettes for $6), Chicken Pad Thai ($13) and Sesame Chicken ($13 and comes with comes with jasmine rice). The food was good to very good. We enjoyed it but don't expect to be blown away. Again, all staff I encountered very nice and accommodating. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for Thai food in the area. read more

Please don't get me wrong here. The service was very nice, the young lady was pleasant. I and my daughter had Chicken Pad Thai, and my son had Kua Gal Noodles with chicken. We also had Shrimp rolls, chicken wings and dumplins. The Chicken Pad Thai, and Kua Gal Noodles was disgusting, greasy, and made my son and I sick to the stomach. The Pad Thai tasted like they put sweet and sour sauce and was very sweet, which was not the taste I previously tasted that brought me back a second time. The appetizer was great and we have no complaints but the main dishes were not good in my taste. We ended up throwing the rest of the food away. I ordered the spicy basil sauce with tofu and it was delicious!! I asked for extra spicy and they delivered!! The food was piping hot when it arrived as well!! I also got the purple rice for dessert and while I don't think everyone would like it, i loved it!! My only complaint is that you only get a tiny portion of rice with the sauce. Been living by here for several years, decided to try it out. We ordered drunken noodles and eggplant basil. The drunken noodles were remarkably oily, and looked different from any drunken noodles I've had before. Halfway through eating it we didn't feel so great so we didn't finish it. The eggplant basil was fine, sort of bland but far better than the drunken noodles. The consensus around my friends was that Tana Thai had been improving, and to be perfectly honest, I know many people who enjoy it. In my opinion however, I would not come back here. I was very disappointed when I ordered from them during Ramadan. I was very hungry to begin with as I was fasting so I ordered a chicken pad kee mao and Thai iced tea. The noodles were a different type than what they usually put, it was extremely dry, and they barely filled up the container it came in half way. I also specifically asked for no onions or carrots yet they still put it in there and I also asked for it to be spicy but it was so bland. The Thai iced tea was watery as well. Excellent restaurant. i brought my wife and three kids here after a day at the bronx zoo. parking isn't the greatest. we luckily found a spot right across the street (on the street). there is a starbucks and dunkin' donuts right next door. fyi not much room inside but we turned a four top into a five top. call ahead of time if you have a bigger group. the food was perfect. delicious thai. we loved it all, vegetable dumplings, pad thai, panang curry. noodles for the kids. good beers. our server was excellent. the mood was great too. good jazz for dinner, colorful lights on the ceiling. just like the pictures. very clean too. we will go back next time we are in the area. read more

Classic Pad Thai is supposed to be a blend of the tang of tamarind extract, the sweetness of palm sugar, the saltiness of fish sauce, the spice of chili peppers, the al dente mouth-feel of rice noodles, the freshness of diced green onion and chopped cilantro, the familiar coziness of scrambled egg, the crunch of bean sprouts and purple cabbage and shredded carrots, and the nutty richness of crushed peanuts, all tossed in a bit of vegetable oil in a super hot wok. Add your favorite protein and a sprinkle of lime juice, and voila, this creates a richly balanced nuance of many interactive flavors and aromatic smells. Tana Thai's was hardly any of these things. The noodles were cold and overcooked. The flavor was bland: there was no spice, no delightful tamarind tanginess, and no detectable sweetness of palm sugar, nor the saltiness of fish sauce. The egg had the rubbery texture of either microwave heating or re-heating. Not a single piece of green onion was to be found. The sprouts were soggy. The chicken was rubbery, lacking any brothy flavor, and composed of cheap all-dark meat. I had to heat up a homemade cocktail of peanut powder, soy sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, Sriracha, and crushed peanuts in order to make the meal passable. Had I not had those ingredients on hand to improve the food, I would have thrown the noodles out. Additionally, the portion I was given for $14 was absurdly small. Any other Thai placed I've gone to typically gives twice as much food for that price. The only saving grace from Tana Thai are the curry puffs. They have a delightful pastry like crust and a totally comfort food-like mouthfeel from the curried potatoes and onions. I have had their Panang Curry in the past, and it was decent, although not quite spectacularly fragrant either. Skip the Pad Thai. Get the Curries and Curry Puffs. Happy Eating! read more

So tasty and flavorful. I recommend this restaurant 100% however their prices Are a little high. That's why i gave them 4 stars. Their prices are very high and the portions aren't that big. For instance, you only get 4 small curry chicken puffs for $7. And 4 small delicious thia shrimps for $9. Wish they gave just one extra of each. Lol read more

This is the best Thai food that I have had in the area! I stick with noodle dishes which haven't disappointed me yet- and I've been ordering from Tana Thai for four years. I wouldn't have the dumplings (the times I've ordered it they haven't been very flavorful), but that is the only dish that I've been moderately disappointed by. I love Thai food. I evaluate every restaurant based on their pad Thai and veggie spring rolls. I have to say the level of culinary arts at this restaurant is inconsistent at best. I've ordered from them About a handful of times. Each time, the quality is worse than the last. This time, I ordered pad Thai-of course with a Thai tea. The noodles were almost white, clearly not coated well in any spice that would resemble Thai seasonings. It was tasteless. And they have the nerve to charge more than other Thai restaurants in manhattan. I also asked for my tea without ice. And guess what folks... ding ding ding... the cup is full of ice. I'm glad I was able to experience at least one time where they were performing optimally. I'm not ordering from here again. If you're reading this would advise you not to start ordering from them.
