I don't like writing reviews about Chinese restaurants because staff turnover at most places in NYC is so high you have a whole new cast of characters between orders. That said, the meal I got last night was a solid 4, even by Manhattan standards. Prices were great and portions are generous. Most importantly, it's the first Chinese delivery I've had in the Bronx that was good enough that it wasn't a hassle eating the leftovers the next day. I'd order from them again. read more

Unfortunately, I must rate this establishment poorly. I ordered from them about two hours ago, refuse to call them to find out what happened. Previously, I ordered from them and everything was fine except for when I called to place the order. It happened today also, 8/14/21. The phone rang and then it gave the out of service tone and speech. I retailed the number, a young lady picked up as if it were her home and not a business stating, "Hello." I had to ask her if it was the restaurant. I am sadden that I am compelled to leave a negative review because the food was fresh and good. I think that it is best to order from them in person. Before my connecting bus to Riverdale, I decided to try this place on a whim. Got the Chicken with Garlic Sauce to go. The lady at counter was quiet but friendly, not the usual can't be bothered attitude you get at most Chinese takeout places. The dish was really good. The garlic sauce had a milder home style taste not overly thickened with starch or seasoned with salt or soy - like your mom would make at home. I prefer that. I ordered from Mei Chung Mei for the first time today. I had an urging for boneless spare ribs and they met my craving perfectly. I usually cook at home or sometimes dine out. In fact I can't remember the last time I had food delivered to me - it has literally been years. I am pleased to write that their boneless spare ribs, the one thing I always used to have delivered to me at home when I was in college etc..., was excellent. It was not drenched in sauce of any kind or greasy and did not make me ill at all! For the delivery I only ordered a large order of boneless spare ribs and a small order of Wonton Soup (I made rice at home before the food arrived, not interested in eating "fried" rice of any kind). The wontons were also very good and I was pleased to see five large wontons in the small container of soup. The only thing that I didn't like was that I gave the delivery driver a $20 bill and he handed me back five singles. I gave him a $1 tip and started to walk back. Before I got back into my apt I realized the woman on the phone said that the total was under $15. Sure enough, on the menu that serves as the receipt, $13.95 was written. As such, it's fair to say that the delivery driver made away with an extra $1.05. Regardless, I don't think this is the fault of the restaurant as the food was spot on, not absurdly covered in sauce or grease (a danger when ordering Chinese food), and I would order from them again... albeit being very careful of the actual cost of the delivery before I pay the delivery driver anything. read more

The best you can get for the price. I got steamed chicken and vegetables. The chicken was nice and moist and it came in a nice healthy sauce with no fat or cornstarch or sugar. At most Chinese restaurants the steamed option is dry and boring with nothing on it. At this place they clearly put care into the health options. The food is really good; however when I ordered the delivery guy, an old man came up he told me to give him tip right off the bat with attitude and I eagerly went to go see if I had any Change on me because I felt bad he came all those stairs. I did not have cash on me but someone paid for me and I went back to the door and told the delivery guy that I was sincerely sorry that I didn't have any money on me and he left angrily using a lot of bad language. Most people get takeout but we ate in and were ignored as the phone rang and customers picked up. We did not yet know the best part of the meal would be before the food arrived.
