I'm rating this place 5 stars because of their service. They always do an excellent job with my nails.

I was visiting the city and stopped in with a friend for nails, party of two. We were both disappointed. One tech who did my toes was friendly and the color looked fine, but the filing was uneven. The tech who did my hands was rough. The e file speed was way too high and caused my nails to burn. During filing and buffing he hit my skin, and on my left hand all but one finger bled. My friend also had a toe bleed with her tech. I asked for gold polish and it came out white. The first few days after were painful, even in the shower. I appreciate good customer service and I rarely leave a negative review, but this visit felt unsafe and careless. Please slow down the e file, check polish colors before painting, and take more care to avoid filing skin. I hope the salon improves. read more

I thought I would get this place another try. I thought at the same guy didn't do my nails this time. It may be a little better but I was wrong. I went in for a gel fill, and the lady proceeded to load tons of gel at the top of my cuticle and never brushed it to the end of my nail, which I've had my nails done several times in the past 10 years and I've never seen that happen until today. Then she missed certain areas and I pointed it out to her and she went and got the gel polish and said that that would fix it. She tries to shape it. I at least thought she was gonna file off all this access gel, but she didn't at some point. I just told her to stop I paid for what she had done and I left and went to a nail shop across the way who fixed everything and have my nails looking right. read more

She told me that I would have to pay to get my nails redone...She is kidding me...no you need to review my nails at no charge...she said no I need to pay...so I said that's not going to happen and you have lost a faithful customer. Literally was waiting to be seated at the rockin Cajun seafood. Raven and I decided to get our pedicure during the wait opposed to after since we saw an outside spa set up. We go in they look full but literally no wait for both of us so we did it ! The person doing my feet was respectful kind and hard working. I loved to see it. Absolutely the worst nail experience I've ever had in my life. I went in asking for a simple acrylic nail removal, the specialist proceeded to pull out pliers and started to RIP the acrylic off. I pulled my hand back aggressively and she asks me "oh you wanted to soak?" She had me dunk my hands in acetone for 27 minutes straight while she worked on a full set for another client. Usually I soak my fingers for about 5-7 min, the technician shaves off the acrylic that's ready, and then this process is repeated a few more times. This technician kept telling me to keep my fingers dunked in, and after all that time, she starts to shave it all the way down in one go. She repeatedly grounded my real nails, and left a lot of the acrylic on my nail upon completion. I'm not kidding, I've been getting my nails done and removed for years and I love the whole process. But this experience was truly so terrifying and upsetting that I may never get them done again. I do not recommend this salon. read more

My girl Vivian always does an amazing job on my nails and keeps them strong and healthy!

This is a new rating given on Sunday 10/30/22. I've been coming to Tams nail for over 10 years and haven't tried other shops because I was familiar with them and like to stick with one shop so if I get toenail fungus I'll know the shop that caused it. Anywho, I used to get false nails, deluxe pedicure, eyebrow waxed a couple of times, etc. Now, I just get a classic pedicure not even the gel, but when I get the pedicure certain manicurist in the shop refuse to use a base coat and I was coming home with polish coming off the next day. This went on for several times and I had to insist and tell her to use a base coat. I think this behavior is classless, cheap, uncaring, and most definitely unprofessional for a business to be ran this way. I shouldn't have to tell you something as basic as this. This happens often and I would still tip over 20% of my charge. If you decide to visit this place it's only three manicurist; Jessica, Anna, and 3rd i can't remember her name that understands that the customer pays for them to give us the service our way not what's convenient for them. These two are the best and I wish I could get them all the time. The other manicurists have issues with the customers they serve and say things to the like "I'll do for you just relax" or "you're always tense". Things like this are said because the customer has had a bad experience with a few manicurist there that results in the customer having to be ever so watchful to ensure their satisfaction is met when it's over, sad. Then when you tell how you want something done they will talk in their language with disapproving tones and glares at you. Just the fact that you do it in front of the customer show you don't care that we can assume what's being said about us. And, it ain't good. Quit being so money hungry that you have forgotten how to be nice and hospitable in your line of business or quit. Most is going to the boss of this business you could fix it if you cared. This nail shop get ZERO STARS from me. I got gel manicure and regular pedicure. There were 3 people sitting in chairs being aeri iced when I arrived. There were 3 other workers not busy. The two that took me rushed me from the tike they started. The lady doing my manicure handed me the colors and then started before I could even look at them. She did a terrible job cleaning my cuticles, she did not file much. She was moving so fast and slapping my hand away to get to the next hand to where I could not even pick my color - very disturbing. The lady doing my feet was so rough with my feet and shaking me so much the lady doing my nails told me to be still and don't move . At the end they both took oil poured on me rubbed for not even 1 full minute and said thank you. I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with the service here at this place ( Tam Nails- in Carson) when they were done all three other customers were still sitting in the same chairs they were in when I arrived and the workers are moving slow pace taking their time. If my two had an appointment ahead I would have much rather them tel me and I would have waited then to treat me this way. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. It cost me $55 for a sloppy Gel Mani pedi I should have gone to Boutique Nail & Brow (across Avalon) but I was already on the other side of the street going opposite direction. read more

Tammy sent me a message stating that she offers a manicure service cuticles. (I've been coming for years and always get it, I'm aware) She stated I refused the service, what a LIAR she was lazy to do it and said I didn't need it... I never hesitated to pay $5-$10 extra for my cuticles if it means they will come out perfect.. She knows she is wrong because she finished my nails with an apology, stating no one is perfect and that my usual lady will be back in a month... I expect perfect when I come to a nail shop who claims they are professionals. She knows she did a horrible job. And did nothing to make it right but try to make excuses for her work. So I came 2 weeks ago and got my eyebrows, and overlay and my feet done. Paid $84 and gave a tip that really wasn't deserved but they did a good job. I drive 30 miles to come to the same place, as I walk up, I'm just standing there. A few nail ladies saw me and didn't even speak. So I start talking to the ladies waiting to get their nails done and they said they closed at five. I decided to come right back as there were quite a few people in the chairs. I come back and again, no spoke to me. Of course it wasn't until I had to get a little rude for someone to acknowledge me, because several employees looked at me and turned their heads like I was there. I probably won't come back. They have a Monday-Thursday special for a regular mani/pedi for $20. I went on a Tuesday when it wasn't crowded, so I was immediately helped and serviced. They told me to have a seat and left my feet in water for 30 minutes before they came to work on me.
