Got in late and this place was right by our Airbnb so decided to give it a try.. One I wanted to try with better review was booked for the night . Well.. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and price was not too bad. Ordered few tapas and iberico burger. Too tired to drink any alcohol so settler for water. Over all food was not bad.. 3 different hummus was not bad.. The plane one lacked in flavor. Carrot, cucumber, and few bread not enough to eat them with hummus imo. Octopus was pretty tender but the best part of that dish was the potato that was underneath it. So dang tasty.. Artichoke with Jamon was OK.. Lacked in flavor.. The burger probably was the best of the dishes.. Nice tender, flavorful, and yummy.. Not too bad for first restaurant in Barcelona.. Based on my experience I do not recommend this restaurant at all what so ever. I have never been disappointed by a so called Argentinian restaurant up until now. The service was bad, sat me in the corner, when I didn't even misbehave while there were more available tables. The drinks were the two worst drinks I've ever had in my entire life. They either don't have a blender or don't know how to use one. The drinks were a piña colada and a daiquiri. Both of which at the very least should be blended. I understand the strength will vary. But the taste was bad despite that. Moving on to the food. I began with a handmade Jubugo ham croquette that was not good. Not to mention too mushy and on the creamy side 1,60€. Following that was a dish of Galician style octopus with smoked paprika and extra virgin olive oil Jose Style, 9,95€. If you like octopus as I do, then you will be disappointed. I don't recommend it. It tasted worse than it looks. I don't mean to appear harsh during this review, however, this was from my experience and my wife. The only thing in my opinion that wasn't bad was the burger "La Generosa" with Goat cheese and caramelized onions 9,80€. The caramelized onions were hardly existent but still not bad. This is the Taller de Tapas that's located down the old silversmith's street in the Born district. The Building containing this modern, comfortable and office worker-friendly Tapas place dates from the 16th Century and was once a Nun's Convent. It's a fun place to eat and an interesting place to watch people. In our case, there was a table full of boisterous British Lads at the next table. They were either in Town as Tourists or maybe to catch the FC Barcelona/Seville match that night? I don't get a chance to drink sangria's very often but the ones they serve here are was great. That being said, the folks at the table next to me didn't appear to be.enjoying their white sangria near.as mush as I enjoyed my red. Really extremely underwhelming and unimpressive food. The worst tapas we had during our trip to Barcelona. All three in our party agreed. The ibérico ham was served with bread that was grilled to be too hard and not dipped in oil and tomatoes as is typical in this region, leaving it hard to digest. The tapas we ordered were very average, comparable to what we would expect in a typical run of the mill restaurant in the United States instead of even the average restaurant in Spain. One in our party had been here before a few years ago and said he thought he remembered the food being much better. Hopefully they can work on their menu and chef. The sauce that is added brings out the baked potatoe flavor. Service: It took longer than normal to get a waiter after being sat down and they never came back to check if we needed anything else. This must be normal since we have noticed this in more than one place. Pricing: Pricing seemed good for what we got. There are so many restaurants in the area but were immediately attracted to this place. It's usually very busy so we opted to sit at the bar right in front of the seafood (yay!) It was a really good first meal in Barcelona but generally found the seafood extremely salty and found one of the waiters a little pushy. To balance the salty food, order the tomato bread. Grilled calamari - Really good Pulpo - fresh but a little salty Jamon - yum! Seafood paella - So salty. I'd avoid this one - there are other places that can do this better. But the location itself with the possibility to eat outside makes it still worth it. 3 tapas bars share that square in front of their restaurants and it's warm enough even in January to enjoy a nice meal there. Awesome place! Great tapas and great drinks. The outdoor patio is a great place to people watch and enjoy a few delicious tapas. The spinach dishes were delicious and the chicken kebabs were to die for! I also had a mojito and it was the perfect thing to cool me down after trekking around Barcelona for god knows how many hours. Definitely give this place a try! I was VERY impressed with this tapas restaurant. The service was friendly and excellent. The food was very good. I had a marvelous dish of calamari and a wonderful eggplant peppers and anchovies. My husband enjoyed the rib eye and the shrimp in garlic. When I didn't finish my octopus the manager came over and asked me if I didn't like it. I said it was slightly overlooked for my taste. He offered to bring another dish of whatever I would like but I thanked him and told him I was really full. When the bill came I was comped the octopus. I objected but they were adamant.
