I came back and tried again. Ordered barbecue ribs and a wrap. It was early evening and there were a few people at the bar. We were the only ones at a table ordering food. The food took a Long time to come out. When it did, the Ribs were very thick, but not in a good way. They were thick and curved. I'm not sure exactly what kind of animal they were from. They were drowned in an overly sweet barbecue sauce. When I managed to slice a rib off (they were tough and chewy ) they were luke-warm in the middle. Really Gross. Worst Ribs I ever had. Really enjoyed the food, the service at the bar, the large easily seen TV's and the friendly patrons we met, as we enjoyed a few cold beers, while sitting on bar stools with BACKS on them. :) We both felt the outside entrance area was in desperate need of clean up, especially the condition of the front door. As that is where people smoke you have to go through that area to enter the bar and thus makes for a poor first impression. I had the shrimp Po boy, which was tasty and close to an authentic po-boy (needed french bread and shredded lettuce instead of leaf, but it was still executed well). They removed the stage in the corner, so hopefully this will not turn into another FAU dominated place, as all of the food I saw look good and is reasonably priced. read more

To mirror what the other reviews have said, the food is the highlight of the new Whistle Stop. The Adult Grilled Cheese was perfection. Great work on keeping the drinks classy and original, but not overpriced! OMG the food here is amazing. Whether you are coming with the family or late night, don't hesitate to stop here. Have been here a few times already and everything from the adult grilled cheese to the Reuben have been excellent. They even make their own corned beef which is better than any deli in town. Well we read that they had the best wings in Boca so we went on a Thursday nite. The wings were fantastic. Food was served hot thanks to our bartender Billie. We then shared quesadillas. They were really good. A nice toast on the tortilla. My only complaint was that there were quite a lot of falling down drunk loud patrons. Won't recommend to my friends but will probably return on a Monday or Tuesday eve. Maybe it will be better reserved. Bartenders need to police the drunks better with a drink limit. read more

I went here one night for dollar beer night and i was passed by a bar tender at least 3 times before finally being noticed but the worst part was that when I was leaving, my bill should have been $6 instead it was $40 because one of the bar tenders just added someone else's pickle shots to my tab..... I love Whistle! I have come with my family for dinner and have had great lunches here too with the girls. Their staff is so friendly (and very nice looking too...;). They treat you like family, check on you several times to be sure that you're happy and don't need anything and always go above and beyond while making you feel so welcome. I am not into sports but it's hard not to get sucked in with the wall-to-wall giant screens. The buffalo mac and cheese will be my requested last meal on earth with the fish dip appetizer to start or maybe the Ahi tuna wraps or maybe the ribs or fish tacos! I can't believe I never stopped here before. This place is so much fun. They evidently are family owned and it shows. No Corporate shortcuts or frozen food. I met the owner who was so nice. They also own McKennas Place up north a bit. They have a great lunch and I understand their nightlife is very cool with a lot of locals as well as college students from FAU.
