This was my first time visiting the Talbots Outlet in Springfield but it won't be my last. I'm a sale shopper, I love the quality and color palettes at Talbots but I rarely pay full price and just have to cross my fingers that something I want will be available in my size on sale. I found so many lovely items today and bought 15 items for $390. A really great bargain. I could have easily spent more but I will save that for my next visit. My wife had to educated me on the Talbots locations. We have a Talbots Outlet close to our home. There is a Talbots "CLEARANCE" outlet in Springfield VA. She said I wish I could go. Well being the thoughtful husband that I am, we are driving back to New York and lo & behold the Springfield location is smack dab in the middle of my path! I planned out the stop (and lunch in DC), when I pulled up, she was out of her mind giddy! I think of Wilma Flintstone screaming CHARGE IT! haha Now, there is a "husband" chair in the front of the store. No need, I'm a man with a plan. Call me the "wife whisperer". With me, ask and you will receive. Which means, I've been married for 24 years. Brutal honesty is the key. I'll say, that sweater looks dynamite! If there is a skirt with pleats and I'm asked how does this look??? Yeah.. Ok School Teacher from 1915. Pleats? Really? Take that mess off! My wife was able to find, $125 quality dress for $18 bucks. That's right, that was no typo. This store is amazing!!! She bought a few Christmas skirts, a dress as well as a sweater, all for under $100 bucks? Pinch me, I'm dreaming!! haha I highly recommend Talbots Outlet which is a clearance center, located in Springfield VA. Find this store! read more

Later this week I will be breaking out a dress and necklace set I recently purchased from Talbots Outlet and wear them to a holiday giving gala at Arena Stage. Talbots Outlet is not just where I get my basics, it is also where I find event and holiday specific items. And now I have purchased several costume jeweler accent pieces here as well, something I would not have imaged myself doing. So why do I love this place? I can visit here and purchase several items and have the total for all items come to less than the full price of one item, seriously. I have accent items for different seasons of the year. Earlier this year I acquired a velvet jacket that goes with jeans or can be the top with one of the sleeveless fall or winter dresses I have gotten here. I of course also love my spring and summer dresses but they do not necessary work with the velvet jacket. I love that my pants from here have a decent inseam. I find skirts and pants as well as cardigans and shells. I would estimate that about half of my clothing come from here and I am more than OK with that reality. All that said you need to remember this is an outlet. Clothing are on racks, items are near other items they do not match, you need to separate them to appreciate them individually. While there are individual changing rooms they are not in the best of shape (although thank God they are individual, I do not partake in communal changing rooms). This is not the place for everyone, but if you don't mind the outlet setting and take pleasure in finding items at good to great prices this may be a place you want to visit. read more

I live about 90 minutes from the Clearance Center, so I only visit about once a year. With the pandemic, it's probably been more like 2+ years since I visited, and I won't be back anytime soon. This location used to offer deep discounts on Talbots clothes. My last visit in March 2022 was a big disappointment. There was still a wide selection, but the discounts were no different that what you'd see in a Talbot's Outlet store--except the Outlet clothes would be more in style. I won't be making any special trips there again unless I'm already doing something in DC. read more

Great outlet for Talbots lovers, but note that Talbots has just placed a new return policy for the outlets so everything is a final sale, so be sure to try everything on. That said: this is a good outlet, well-organized, the signs tell you what is 50% off, 60% off, etc, and the sizes are actually organized (not often found in an outlet store). I went yesterday and scored a new suit, two blazers and a pair of shoes for $127. Wow. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is due to the 2 awful women in the fitting room: when I asked how many items I could bring in, she looked at me, sighed, and said "10". How should I know? There is no sign, and I have not been in the dressing rooms there before! When I went to put all my things down, half fell on the floor, some fell off the hangers, and do you think she helped me? NO. When I came out of the dressing room, no one even counted my things, so why did it matter if I had 9, 10 or even 12 things? read more

First thing to know about this store--when the sales are good, they're VERY good. Otherwise, it's only a reasonably good store (price-wise). I bought slacks at $7.99 each! They're originally ~$100-$150 each. Whaaaaaa!? Fabulous deal. However, if you go on a non-sale weekend, you'll find them in the $40-$100 range. This place really is great for an Outlet! The prices are a bit high but hey...it is Talbots. You have to have time to go through the racks and try on things but over all the items are all marked down and high quality. They do have a return policy but the tags must be on, with a receipt, and within 30 days. read more

Sales manager very helpful and one can fill their large shopping bag with many items for the retail cost of one fancy dress! Customer Service here has gotten worse. All the ladies there have been working and shopping for themselves by setting aside the good stuff for themselves first. Most are ethic with little educational background from 3rd world countries. Unfortunately the employees here are all women, no men. If only a regional manager of Talbots could train them to be more professional and replace employees that to not meet standard. For the bargains, people will still flock here but your money pays for their paychecks. The employees think they are doing you a favor with the clearance rack shopping. If you only hear what they say about the customers in native language without providing any real customer service. read more

First of all, the minute I tell people I live in Springfield, they say 'ooh! Talbot's Outlet!' So I had to check this out. I am a little undecided. This place is HOPPING on the weekends. Especially during coupon sales (which I have yet to use a coupon). I tend to swing by after work when I am in the mood to dig through the racks. Thankfully it is more organized than some outlet stores, but it still is digging. The prices are not as 'dirt cheap' as I had hoped, a $200 shirt half off is still too expensive for me. But they have lots of 75% racks so I go there first. Just make sure you check for nicks, stains and 'irregulars'. They do accept returns. read more

My visit was like a fairytale. Michele, Chanel, and Dulce were like my fairy godmothers! This store was my last hope. The clock struck 9 and the store was closing but they helped me find an interview suit that will get me my fairy tale...My career! In Cinderella mode, I even accidentally left the extra pair of black pumps I brought to try on suits as I was rushing out the door. Do yourself a favor and trust in them for your suit needs. Michele has a tailor's keen eye. Chanel was patient and kind even with the Evil Witch in the dressing room next door. And any time we could not find something one of them would disappear into the back room and seconds later magically reappear with the same jacket or pants in my size. read more

So this is a big big big open space full of sale stuff. However, I feel like they raised a price little bit, then took off some, then said additional 50% off. There were $9.99 and 5.99 walls which everything was that price but selection was very limited and size is rare. Then the staff is not friendly at all. They are very task oriented and leaves their go back carts in middle of the aisles which bring difficulty for the customers go easily move around the store. read more

Talbots on super sale! I try to hit the store on my trips from Bethesda to Richmond, usually on my way back. Who doesn't love expensive shirts for $7 or finding Womens or petites (or even Womens Petite) on 80% off? As a petite, I love to get my pants here, usually for less than $20. It's always exciting to find things that fit! It is fairly well organized with racked sorted by size and then 40/50/60/75 and up to 80% off. I hit the super sales first and work my way to the "regular" prices which run about 25% off retail. The older the stock, the more discount. The dressing rooms are ok and there is one bathroom. NO RETURNS! It's a discount store, so staffing is minimal, but the prices always seem to come up correctly at the cashier (with long banker's line). Parking is easy, but getting there from 95 is always a challenge at the Franconia exit. It always takes me a good hour to go through everything, so I tell my husband "I am stuck in 95 traffic!" if I am late. read more

I have to start off by saying I never thought I would like shopping at Talbot so much. Normally I go to the Springfield store that's always pretty crowded, but service is always good however presentation can sometimes be a little lacking. This was the first time that I've gone to the Talbot store in Potomac Mills and I mean presentation of the clothing items is wonderful. I'm a big girl and even in the big girl section it was really set up nice. The people that work in the store we're very nice and not overbearing, when they saw my hands were full they took the clothes to the register and they started to fold them. I do find that this Outlet was little more pricey than the one in Springfield even with their 30 and 50 and 60% off. I want to deduct a star for the price of the clothes even though this is an outlet store but the workers in the store have nothing to do with the prices. From now on even though I had such a good experience at this one I will always go to the one in Springfield for whatever reason the deals are a lot better. read more

This place is my shopping secret weapon! Now, customer service here ranges from bad to worse, but the bargains make it absolutely worthwhile (I'm also the sort of shopper who prefers to go it alone, so that doesn't bother me). Just don't expect any sort of personal shopper or someone to bring you things in a different size - it's all self service. However, if you hit this store at the right time, the deals cannot be beat. Fully lined 100% wool pants for $10? Don't mind if I do. Blazers for $15? I'll take two! I picked up the most gorgeous classic wool coat for next to nothing and get compliments every time I wear it. Sometimes everything in the store is under $20. Sometimes it'll be buy-three-get-one-free. It's all final sale, so that's important to remember, but even if things require tailoring, at these prices, I don't mind spending a bit more for alterations. There are misses, petite, plus, petite plus... Starting at size XS/2 and up to 24W/3X. It's Talbots, so you're not going to find the most trendsetting runway items here. There are some matronly duds, and weird holiday sweaters mixed in. But there also also abundant high quality classics that will never go out of style. I brought my mother here on one of her visits to town, and now every time she visits, she asks to go back! My wardrobe is forever changed for the better. read more

This is my favorite hidden gem for shopping in the DMV. At the end of the season, you just can't beat the bargains. Example: 100% Silk duster for $19; business sheaths for $20; pants for $14; work blazers for $19. The downside is that it's hard to find true 'suits'; however, you will find loads of coordinates that you can readily mix/match.* (I have seen THIS happen on occasion: The jacket has come in in the Fall, followed by the pants in the Spring). Of course, they have casual wear and a small selection of shoes and accessories too but I mainly check for work gear. It's actually MUCH better pickins' than some of the big box women's clothing stores because the items are still relevant and less picked over. Saturday's are hectic but other days are a breeze. read more

My daughter and I stopped in today (Saturday morning) to pick out some clothes for college. My first word is WOW! The store is so organized and well kept and they had amazing yes amazing prices on everything! The selection of pants were priced 9.99 and they had every color imaginable plus prints too. I still shop at Talbots a lot, BUT I realize that you get what you pay for. So the qualtiy of course is not the best. Also, the last time I went, a lot of the clothes had stains and tears in it, so pay VERY close attention to what you're buying when you're in the store. You won't be able to return it if they're having one of their big sales. Pay VERY close attention to the washing instructions!! Often times it will say it needs to be drycleaned or turned inside out, if you disregard this your clothes will come out with those little fuzzy balls on them. Perhaps "little fuzzy balls" isn't the best choice of words....but you know what I mean. I purchased a pair of pants and just a few months later they are in terrible condition. Sadly, I've decided I need to limit shopping at Talbots. If they would improve their quality and raise their prices a bit, I would continue to shop there on a regular basis. read more

Disappointing. I'm a dedicated Talbot's shopper and was surprised to see last year's winter merchandise at prices significantly greater than when on sale at the regular stores. I hate when stores play pricing games, so, for example, there were signs that said 50% off price on tag (as an example, a sweater had an original price of $99, and then marked down to $84). The main advantage of the store (for me) is that you know that you're getting real merchandise from the stores (versus items produced for the outlet stores) so the quality is there. I guess if you live in the area you'd be better able to take advantage of their sales (but it wasn't a great deal without it). read more

Only two checkers and the one who wasn't dealing with The Most High Maintenance Buyer Ever was blatantly ignoring the increasing line and flitting around grabbing things to buy for herself (she admitted the same). I got 2 sweaters and one pair of cords for $48. You can't beat it! I've only been there once but was impressed by the organization over a long weekend. You do have to dig but it's not laid out poorly like many outlet stores with clothes thrown all over. The staff is not very helpful but I don't expect that at an outlet store either. 4 out of 5 stars! I will be back hoping for an additional % off the already reduced prices. I'm a big fan of Talbots OUtlet in SPringfield and have gotten many great deals. I'm not so happy with their new NO RETURN policy..that was recently enacted, according to many of my friends.
