One of my favorite thrift stores in the area. They always have great deals, I mean like everyday of the week and even holidays. I can always find what I'm looking for plus some when I come to Bthrifty. Today I came after finding out that foodlion a few doors down lost power. The thrift store was still rocking and rolling. I love the merchandise they have. I went in to find a rocker for my son. I found the same one that he has at daycare. His babysitter paid 45 dollars for hers and I paid 3 bucks for mine. It was in great condition, I just wiped it down and washed the seat cover. Did I mention they have a great selection for work clothes? Awesome blazers, and work slacks. I've purchased everything from new York and company to white house black market. Overall great store with great products. I rather look through the aisles than go to the mall and try to find stuff there. Oooo yeah get the rewards card its worth it. read more

My mom and I visited B-Thrifty a couple of Sundays ago, and the customer service we received was disappointing enough that I wanted to share our experience. I asked our cashier, "Joe," if I could enter my phone number for any discounts or to accumulate points toward membership benefits, and he rudely said, "It's too late." When I asked what he meant, he repeated that it was too late because the store was closing and he couldn't allow me to enter my number, even though it wasn't 7 p.m. yet, the store was still open, and there was still a line of customers checking out. I wasn't asking for anything complicated, just to enter my number on the keypad right in front of him, ring up our items, and check out. I also asked if my mother could sign up for a membership, since I'd been raving about this store and she was excited to join. He said no to both. I was genuinely confused because he seemed annoyed with us, and we hadn't done anything to him. Confused, I asked for a manager. It wasn't a miscommunication, since Joe spoke perfect English. I just genuinely didn't understand the refusal. While waiting, I overheard another cashier explaining the day's color-tag discounts and promotions to a different customer. Joe never offered us any of that information. We were met with rudeness and dismissiveness from him. When the manager came over, she had an attitude and talked over me as I tried to explain what was going on. She said Joe meant "there's no deals on Sundays" and pointed to the sign. I told her I already knew that, I can read, and I've been a member there for years. I was trying to explain that Joe had refused to let me enter my phone number, sign my mom up for a membership, or tell us about the color-tag discounts, claiming it was too late because the store was closing , even though there were still people in the store. The manager's response was that if we needed discounts, we should come back Monday through Thursday, which missed the point entirely and left my mother and me feeling like we'd been stereotyped as customers who were only there for discounts. I've shopped at this store for years and brought my mother because I wanted her to love it as much as I do. Instead, the visit left us feeling dismissed and stereotyped over what should have been a simple, friendly interaction. Joe and the manager were rude and unwelcoming, which made us so uncomfortable. A little patience and basic courtesy would have made all the difference. Please work on your customer service. read more

You can find some good finds if you sift through this thrift store. Some items are very cheap for what they are worth but some items are too expensive. For example you can get an undershirt brand new from Walmart for 2 dollars, and sometimes they charge 5 dollars for an undershirt here. I've found some awesome antique items here for pennies. staff were super rude and dismissive when I asked them questions. 99% of items in the store are barely usable, and what is worth buying is super overpriced. The owner blatantly admitted to marking up other peoples literal trash. The majority of these items are not even worth it for free. read more

Donate elsewhere unless you want to support price gouging and greed. This thrift store is extremely overpriced and they are delusional about how much things are worth. I only come here when they have the 50% off days and then I find good prices on things. This is my go to thrift store for donations because their hours are the best and I recently donated. When I came there today, I saw my used goods for sale with a price tag more than I paid for them brand new, I was annoyed. As I was checking out, I saw this book priced more than the original sticker. I will never donate here again because they're extremely greedy and price things poorly. I haven't been here in a long time. When it first opened I shopped here 2 or 3 times a week, every week for months. There were many good buys and the store had friendly and helpful employees. The last time I was there I noticed the selection was horrible, the prices went up on almost everything, shelves were half bare, and most of the nice people were no longer there. I asked a few people what happened to everyone and was told the store and management got bad so they left. The employees also told me that most of the good stuff wasn't hitting the sales floor for customers. I wish it was like it was in the beginning. I loved going to B-Thrifty and spending my money on great buys. I was spending between $400 to $600 a month. I'm hoping that maybe one day the people running the place will try to return to how it used to be. If so, I'd definitely return. read more

I like the sales here, but don't like waiting while sales clerks try to find out about B-Thrifty's 25% Saturday Discount on Yelp. Today, the clerks said they'd never heard of it so I asked them to call the manager. One did, but the call wasn't answered and a store associate had to go and find her. Once she did, she called and walked her through processing it without a problem. In the meantime, the line behind me grew longer and longer. This wasn't the first time this has happened. This place is huge, and has a wide variety of stuff, BUT the prices are exorbitant. It's a total rip off. I frequent thrift shops and I am really angered by the ones that price things so high. They're just taking advantage of poor people. I saw normal bottles of hand soap for $9.99. Just a small 12 ounce bottle. And I walked around and checked different departments and they were all the same-over priced garbage. The stuff is donated right? Why have prices so high? In addition, they put smaller items in little plastic bags and hang them up and it's just random items inside. You can't see everything in the bag and you might not even want everything in the bag. It's a bad idea. Go to a hospital run thrift store instead, save money, Pay true thrift store prices and contribute to a good cause, not some business' bottom line. read more

The thrift store is huge. On the far left is an indoor playground area, in the middle is a flea market and the right side is the thrift store. On the right side is a mix of used items and new items with the original stores price tags. There was a lot of Target items that I saw at this store. The newer items were priced quite high for a thrift store. There are tons of parking at the front of the store. The store is well organized by color, size and item. Some of the items were not labeled with a price. Each item had a different price. Aisles are big enough for strollers. On most major holidays everything in the store is 50 percent off. Through out the week the store offers different discounts. You have to sign up to be a member in order to take advantage of it. I didn't have to be a member for the Yelp check in. Monday: customer appreciation 30 percent off Tuesday: 35 percent off for senior citizens Wednesday: 35 percent off for Military, police, nurses, firefighters and teachers. Thursday: 30 percent off for members Saturday: Check in with Yelp for 25 percent off As my mother was checking out I realized that there was a Yelp check in discount offered on Saturday. The sales associate gave my mother attitude. My mother made a comment, "that we should have been told." The sales associate said, "then everyone would use the discount." You could tell she was irritated and wasn't afraid to show it. She continued to make comments. The manager on duty handled the situation quite well. She was polite, patient, and had great customer service. Overall, despite the interaction with the sales associate and higher prices then most thrift stores I've been to I would check it out again if I was in the neighborhood on a major holiday. read more

Huge selection of clothes and everything else, but there are no fitting rooms. If I had known that, I wouldn't have bothered visiting and going through all the racks. I tried things on over top of my clothes in front of the full length mirrors, but it's really not good enough. read more

I don't know who price the items in this locations but it doesn't make any sense pay regular prices for something second hand when you can go to Marshalls or Target and get it brand new, even cheaper if you find it on sale, so don't waste your time going there is not worth it. read more

Almost everything I saw is cheaper on offer up or possibly even used on the internet( which usually comes with a guarantee). Cheap items are overpriced as well with many of their items priced higher than new. This is a large thrift store but it is all cheap overpriced crap and as I said earlier anything good will massively overpriced. This place also looks sketchy. Looks like they have small little vendors who will sell me a fake rollex. I attatched some photos so you dont have to waste your time here. This is one of the bigger thrift shops in NoVa. Compared to good will, Salvation Army, and other smaller shops this shop is pretty good! It's HUGE and they have a new selection of clothes every week. They often have 50% off sales so you can get tons of stuff for practically nothing. Sometimes you'll have to dig through dozens of racks but it's easy to find branded/ goods pieces. Other than clothes they have glassware, kitchenware, furnature, toys, books, electronics and bigger brands behind the glass counter. It also doubles as a market with individual vendors! Definitely check it out if your in the area! read more

This place is really confusing but it is HUGEEEEE! Usually when I work on diy projects I like to stop by thrifts for antiques and of course I always get side tracked and start looking at everything else that I don't need but in this particular store, I couldn't figure out where to begin and where to end. Their pricing is wayyyyyy high and the staff wasn't the most helpful in trying to figure out the prices for some items. I brought to their attention an identical item and one was listed for $7.99 and the other $12.99 when I asked the manager why that is, he just pointed and said, you pay $7.99 or this one and $12.99 for this one, those are the prices. I looked at him confused and he looked back with an attitude. I laughed and we moved on. Personally, I will never go back to this place and wouldn't recommend it unless if you've got hours to spend on searching and an additional few hours to figure out the prices on their items. This store is overpriced and prices are not consistent. I found several of the exact same items with different prices. Both times the price had to be corrected. Also one other time I went there I found a set of giraffe figurines (see photo) the larger brass giraffe was 19.99 and the small baby giraffe was also 19.99. When I asked the lady why are both giraffes the same price even though one is considerably smaller she said the manager priced it and he's in a meeting so she couldn't ask him. Update: I went back in this store recently and got to the checkout counter. There was an item that was marked 9.99. The cashier told me the item was 19.99 not 9.99. I told the cashier that it's marked 9.99. He pointed to a stray mark on the item and said it was a 1 in front. I had another item that was clearly marked 19.99 and he and the manager insisted the stray mark was a 1 in front of the 9.99 even though the other item that was actually 19.99 was clearly marked. I honestly do not get the good reviews for this place. I am a life long thrifter and have found something good about each place I've stopped at. I can't find one here. I've been three times trying to love it. Each time I find incredibly overpriced items, broken items and dirty clothes and shoes. Quality control seems to be lacking. And the pricing is just down right crazy. What gets me the most is how willing people are to pay almost retail (like only a dollar or two less than the original price) for something in a thrift store. It's insane. It defeats the purpose of thrift shopping but you do you. Pro tip: the Salvation Army near by is better if you want on trend shoes (my husband constantly finds high dollar sneakers) and collectible good condition vintage (think Pyrex in like new condition). read more

This thrifty Boutique has great prices, specially on the 50% off discounts days. The only con is that they don't have a fitting room and you only have a 7 day return policy. However not bad if you live or work around the store. They also have a great selection of new items with tags on. So this is a huge thrift/discount mart. Indoor flea market on one side and full blown second hand store on the other. You can find some pretty good deals especially on holiday items and small appliances. Great frames, just very hard to sort through the way they have them sitting on top of each other. I love this thrift store so much! There are so many items so it sometimes takes some searching to find the gems, but I consistently come out of there with pieces I love! They have great discounts every week for members (membership is free) which makes it event better to shop there. The shirt pictured was $2.99 ($1.50 with the member discount of the day) and I got a pair of Cole Haan shoes for $25 ($13 with the discount)! Prices here are INSANE!!! They actually charge more for used IKEA glass bottles than IKEA charges for new ones! There's an old military footlocker that is rotting away and falling apart for $50! It's not even salvageable for parts, the leather has rotted away, the cladding is gone and the underlying boards are warped and separated. All the metal parts are twisted and rusted. WTF??? Their pictures are ridiculously overpriced as well, easily double and even triple what you find at Goodwill or ACTS. They do have lots of clothes though so maybe that's why they stay in business! In my opinion the stuff they sell is 95% no bueno pero there's that 5% that makes it all worth while. It's a treasure hunt people! Finding the diamond in the rough is such great feeling! I had high hopes for this place. They used to have good pruces on a few types of things that I used for repurposing...old lamps, trunks...That's about it. Their prices are outrageous any more. The majority of the lamps, trunks and other items are more expensive than you can get new namebrand ones at a retail store. Don't understand some of these thrift stores in the area. Guess you could describe them with one word...greedy. People give them things for free, and they charge more than retail for crap old items that need to be repurposed or thrown in the trash. Ratty wood furniture is way overpriced. If you're looking for repurposing items to reclaim, I don't recommend this place unless you want to pay more than new before you even start refurbishing. read more

So I would give this place 5 stars, but customer service was not on point this last weekend. My friends and I purchased a Groupon for here. We traveled the 45 minutes from md to use it. We spent about an hour and a half racking up on all their wonderful deals. This is definitely the cleanest, biggest, cheapest, thrift store I've been too, although more than a handful of clothes my friends and I really wanted had stains. My sister and friend pushed their cart up to the jewelry section and got just about cursed out. They were yelled at saying they can't bring their cart up there and were asked if they couldn't read the sign. It was as if they were pushing the cart near the door to walk out with all the stuff. I mean, we really don't need to steal from a thrift store. As it was time to get rung up, we all brought our purchases to the register. Three of us had Groupons, which suddenly became a problem for 2 of us. One was rung up with no problem, then the other two of us were being questioned like we made copies of our Groupon to cheat the store. I understand this was their first time dealing with Groupon and they don't want to be cheated, but there was definitely a better way they could have handled this situation. When I'm spending my money somewhere, I don't expect my friends and I to be treated like thieves. As we were exiting the store, a staff member there was laughing and sarcastically telling us to come back, "reeeeealll soon." So while they had awesome clothes, cheap prices and so much space, it makes my friends and I question if we will travel back to spend over 100 dollars in a THRIFT store when we aren't treated as respectable customers. read more

Someone else best said it--there's 95% garbage and 5% good stuff...so if you can handle the search, this is a great place. I had a few friends recommend this place and I love a good deal...but holy cow what a shocker--most of the stuff we saw in the first 10 minutes was priced WAAAAY too high. As in even with the 50% discount, prices were still too high--like $400 for a large carpet remnant? $40 for a badly worn sports jersey? $60 for a hotel side chair with cigarette burns? Are you kidding me? But as others have mentioned, there are deals to be had. We snagged an awesome vintage child's swivel desk chair for $1.50 ($3 normally but it was half off day) that I've since googled to see it being auctioned for upwards of $50. And a lot of the shoes are bargains as well--we picked up a pair of Lands End rain boots, Keen slip-on loafers, and Merrell loafers all for about $3 each (after 50% off). I was hoping the clothes would be hung in approximate sizes but from what I saw, it wasn't. So I will never buy clothes here as I don't have the patience to sort through thousands of pieces to look for my size. I like that most of the stuff is placed on shelves or hung for display. But there are areas where things are just layered on plastic shelving units (I noticed this in the bag section). There might have been a $500 bag for $10 hiding in there but there's no way in hell I was going to paw through 200 bags to check. I was amazed at the amount of garage sale junk/garbage everywhere. Is someone really going to be looking for a medical journal on gastroenterology from 1981? Or an electric fry pan scratched to within an inch of its life? I'd like this place much better if they priced their items reasonably. I was going to give them two stars but upped it to three because we did find some good deals and the three associates I interacted with were all very nice and helpful. Like another thrifty reviewer said, I had high expectations for this place but unfortunately they were not met. I will admit that they have A LOT OF CLOTHES. However, without the almost daily specials, the clothes by themselves are a bit expensive for a thrift store. If you want anything other than clothes, I do not recommend coming here. My advice is do not have high expectations, and if you go on a weekend and they have a 50% off sale, the line is going to be literally a mile long and you will be waiting awhile to pay for your stuff. I love thrifting, I am a self-declared thriftaholic. No matter where I am, I always find a shop to check out. Being from DC and having the itch to explore a new store, I decided to open up my Yelp radius to 20 miles and stumbled across B-thrifty which piqued my interest. Disregarding all the negative reviews on here, I decided to make the long trek here from DC. Now I'm regretting the waste of gas and time. Just abandoned a cart at Bthrifty and walked out after just 30 minutes, and I'm the type to spend hours and hours in a good thrift store. The deals and sales that they have? Just a distraction from the jacked up prices. This isn't a super thrift store, this is a super ripoff store. $12.99 for a stained Walmart brand shirt? Please. Stick with the local smaller shops that actually know the meaning of thrift and give THEM your business. But that's just me. To each their own. read more
