I went to Potomac Mills Mall to go to Earthbound and to check out other places in the mall. We didn't have long to check out all the places there due to having to rush to different places and events that day. I liked how everything was festively decorated . Even though it is an outlet mall, I noticed the items I got were almost the same prices online except a few dollars less. Being the largest mall in Virginia and one level , it was hard to navigate and I couldn't find signs leading to Earthbound. I got lost twice. I plan to visit this place again when it is not so crowded in the future. The service we received in the stores we browsed in were good and professional. We found a good bargain for a sturdy metal carry on luggage with wheels for $40. I loved the clothes I wanted online yet was never able to get until recently. read more

11.7.24 This mall reminds me of Arundel Mills Mall located in Hanover, MD. They have several neighborhoods like Arundel. The only difference is this outlet mall has Costco and JC Penney. I was surprised to see the concourse throughout the mall wasn't crowded, yet the parking lots were packed. I had to circle several times to find a spot. The stores I visited had fairly light traffic. I came to this mall while in VA as I wanted to window shop at Bloomingdale's Outlet and Discount Designer Outlet. Sadly, both retailers left me disappointed. Inventory wasn't fashionable or high-end luxury brands that I was expecting. I am frugal and likely wouldn't have bought anything, but would have enjoyed window shopping. To make my experience worse, traffic coming home to Howard County was god-awful and I was reminded why I hate going to VA. A wasted trip of my time coming to this mall when I could have gone to Arundel only eleven minutes away from me. read more

Went to this store because BOGO for 40% off. The pair cost $55, the male associate gave me 25% off and cost me around $50 which I did not noticed it at the time. My friend told me that this was NOT right so I went back to the store. The female associate told me it was RIGHT because in order to get 25% off the had to scan a FREE tape/cushion. BUT IT IS NOT FREE BECAUSE THE RECEIPT SHOW IT ADDED ON $7.99. She kept insisted that it FREE but did NOT explain the cost. First LIE. I told her I wanted to return that FREE tape/cushion and refund it. She said it could not be returned because the tape is FREE and it was FINAL sale pointing to the sticker by the cashier. There's NO such thing indicated on the ads or the receipt that it's FINAL sale. Second LIE. Then, I wanted to return the ENTIRE purchase. She told me it could not be returned because NO BOX. When I bought it I said I wanted NO BOX just gave me the shoes. I just came back after 1 hour, did NOT know what she did with the box. Third LIE. Told her she's A LIAR and not leaving until she let me return. She threatened to call security which she didn't. I told her I was done with her and needed to talk to a manager which she claimed that she was a manager. Fourth LIE. Told her I needed to talk to corporate if she's manager. She told me to look that up and said the STORE MANAGER wouldn't talk to me if I spoke to her like that. I came here to window shop and walk indoors, not to shop. There are a lot of stores, some, not all were outlets or end of seasons, last of the items. Larger stores consist of Nordstrom Rack, JC Penney, Bloomingdale type rack, Burlington, TJ Maxx and Home Goods. Then you have your stores like Kate Spade, Marc Jacob's, Adidas, Nike, Colombia, Under Armour. There's a food court as well. If I am in the neighborhood or going to Ikea, I would stop by again. read more

12/9/23 A lot has happened since I was here last. Although most people do not wear a mask in 2023, I am wearing a mask to avoid getting sick be other people. The Coronavirus isn't gone, but it has evolved. Evidently, I ended up getting it again back in November. Thanks to my 5th Pfizer injection, the Covid-19 virus didn't last long. I still have my yearly bronchitis I get after I get sick and hope to cure this soon. So when I see people coughing a lot, I think these people should be wearing a mask. Nevertheless, I saw a section of the mall going through a renovation. I noticed that this area is busier then it was 2 years ago. We came close to getting a massage at Pure Foot Spa, but other plans came into effect. It was fun seeing how many people were in Potomac Mills just weeks before Christmas. I can only imagine what it will be like after Christmas. I might find out soon. read more

I'm always up for a trip to discover new areas to me. Most malls have seen a decline in recent years, but in this area, malls seem to be thriving. This mall is one that is thriving. Parking was a breeze for me. Even though it was a busy day on my visit, I was able to find a decent spot near the entrance. As soon as I could, I entered the mall and was on my way to do a lap around the mall to drop into stores here an there. The mall is big and had few empty storefronts. It was nice to actually be in a mall that was busy and had options. This trip was meant to be to discover some birthday gifts for the littles. I kept going in and out of stores in hopes of finding some things that would please those littles. I ended up finding a few things that fit the bill and was able to say it was a success for the day. My only gripe, and it is no fault to this mall, is that it took me forever to get here. I expect that once the highway system is done with upgrading the roads, it might be swifter to get here. read more

How is this place still open?!?! I told friends I was doing there, they (two different ones) said "don't get robbed!" The place is filled with "interesting" shoppers and most of the actual national chains and brand names stores have pulled out. When walking in the main entrance, most stores to the right are local, definitely now what shoppers come to an outlet mall from far away to visit! Then to the left, going up to their "fashion district" many names have pulled out, like Tommy Bahama, which is no longer there. Potomac Mills is one of the areas largest. Unfortunately for folks looking to eat well, the food court and Cheesecake Factory are only ok. I used to love this mall, because it was known for its bargains. There are plenty of outlet stores. Yet are they really good for savings. Depends. If you're susceptible to marketing, you might want to be wary, but I've done better elsewhere. Especially online. As for parking, there's plenty of spots. What has impressed me, is that the Simon Group tidied up this large mall. For awhile it was hideous, but kudos for a job done properly. The stores are getting better, the prices are getting better as well. The mall used to be strictly an outlet mall but it has progressively moved away from that look to more of a mall-mall concept. With the addition of food options outside the mall, the food options beyond the foot court have increased as well. As if all the upgrades inside the mall are not enough they also have charging stations with seating so you can charge your phone while you wait for friends and family to hop from store to store. If you happen to drive your Tesla here, they have charging stations in the parking lot for those to! They also have plenty of parking for the everyone else! This place is soooo massive. It took me 2-3 visits just to make it from one end to the other. The first few visits I had to stop halfway and come back another time!! If you know where to look in this vastly spread out, single level, all indoor outlet mall, you can score awesome finds without breaking the bank. My current favorite stores include The North Face, Timberland, Express, and Michael Kors. Bummed that BEBE shut down. Even more bummed that Old Navy moved out. Ecstatic about Costco (FREE SAMPLES! And also, I could eat their frozen yogurt like all day). And its pretty cool that they now have legit sit-down restaurants like The Cheesecake Factory, Bobby's Burger Palace and Bahama Breeze on their premises. It's had renovation so is even bigger now. It has pretty much every store you can imagine in terms of mall shopping, but it's really expensive much like the rest of the DC area. It's not my favorite. Easier to get in and out of than Tyson's, but less so than Fair Oaks. Which isn't really Fair. Oaks. Richard is scared of this mall, and rowdy young people. I'm not scared of them, let them do their thing, they're trapped in suburban hell, it makes sense to me. Kids can legally go die at war but not drink. Makes so much sense. But I do agree with him. It's badly designed and the malls in the richer areas are a bit nicer. read more

Yikes! We came to Potomac Mills near the holidays and let me just say, this place has sadly gone downhill. There are tons of stores that did not survive Covid and have sadly left. They've been refilled with "hoochie mama stores", as my mom put it. Basically, stores that all look like they sell the same low quality threads. In between, there are still some good options. Express, TJ Maxx/Homegoods, Nike, Kate Spade and Nordstrom Rack keep me coming back. This last visit, I actually purchased a ton of items from Nordstrom and TJ Maxx. I LOVE Nordstrom Rack and am so glad that this one is in driving distance from me. I wish we had one in Richmond. We went midweek and there was a pretty good crowd. Covid precautions are everywhere and I felt like 80% of folks were wearing masks. Tested for covid a couple days after returning and ended up negative. So I'd say it was pretty clean. They DO get bonus points for having a nursing room separate from the bathrooms in the food court area. read more

The last time I came here was four years ago. Wow this place is now sad and depressing. The better stores are no longer around and even half of the mall was above 80 degrees on a summer day. I guess the AC was broken. On top of this, even the workers at the Sarku Japan fast food located in the main food court area were sketchy. I ordered a meal and two small drinks but they tried to charge me ten percent more and at the large size price. I asked them why the price was different from what's on the board and the two sketchy workers looked at each other as though they had planned it all along. Too bad for them I'm good with numbers and very alert on what prices should be wherever I go. It wasn't until I asked that they fixed it without apologizing. Really?! Even the fast food workers were sketchy and low class at this sh*t hole outlet. Not worth the drive coming back here again. read more

The crime is no longer an issue here. It's safe to come back. NOT!!!! It's a nice spot to bring your family. Wrong again. The Nike outlet is where we get our kids' back to school shoes. Ok that's true. There used to be a lot of hit-n-runs in the sea of parking lots. But there's now a parking garage next to IKEA. A couple car jackings have occurred but some how I find this all part of the NOVA experience and charming. It really was a welcome to Hoodbridge kind of moment. The rat problem has been fixed. Pest control has been out to spray and it's no longer a danger in the food court. Saw one of my exes working there at Mandarin Express and she always slides me a free plate of Mongolian & Orange Chicken. I should have married her instead of Rachel Ruebens. Maybe she'll be my third wife...who knows maybe the third time is the charm. The youth and teenagers really misbehave in school and at skate parks, but the teenagers have a deep respect for Potomac Mills. And they know how to behave within these walls. They're definitely not cry babies and wannabes and petty thieves. But seriously watch out for teenagers here. They will steal your bags. There are always fights at the Cheesecake Factory. Don't be surprised if you find yourself in a troubling situation. It's a good thing the boys in blue always show up. Prince William Police roll in like the strike force. Tackles the issue head on with S-T-Y-L-E. Potomac Mills was going to get zero stars but because the boys in blue showed up in ties and saved the day my hope for American Consumerism will have me back here next summer to get those excellent deals at the Nike factory. Not what I expected. I had time to kill for an away basketball game and decided to check out the mall. This mall is huge - ended up doing like 7000 steps, end-to-end. It's definitely not what I'm used to having gone to Tyson's Corner and Pentagon City prior. This mall has upscale vendors but is definitely not an upscale mall. Has a huge variety of stores. It was a ghost town on a Monday afternoon with vendors outnumbering customers. Notable stores are a Nike Clearance store, a huge arcade, and a burlington. Everything seems a bit run down and sad. The store signage seems like someone did it with a sharpie on posterboard. The Burlington had almost no suits - it was my go to for suits back when people worked in offices and wore suits to client meetings. Most people wore masks, food court looked sad. I live right next to the Leesburg outlets which with the recent remodel looks better than before and a ton better than this mall. read more

For the local area, this is a pretty good mall until you get further up north into the city. Potomac Mills is broken up into neighborhoods so it is easier to find the type of stores you are looking for. For example, all the high end stores are on one end all close to each other. Of course it can get busy, but what mall doesn't? I've been going here since I was younger & it satisfies your typical mall needs, especially when you don't feel like driving closer to the city for other stores not found here. I grew up coming to this mall and I honestly do enjoy coming here. With COVID-19 happening, they're doing their best at practicing social distancing and cleaning. I was surprised to see that there were alot of people at the mall. Stores are limiting how many people can come in and the mall closes earlier now. I'm glad I can do my shopping again, but waiting in long lines to go in the store is now something we all have to accept. read more

This review is based on the mall layout, options, and location. This mall is a bit of a mixture between an outlet mall and a regular mall. Some stores are outlet stores, while others are not which I find very interesting. The options are pretty good, I find that there are some stores in this mall that I have never heard before, but then next door you have the Bloomingdale's outlet or the Nordstrom Rack so it is interesting to see the mixture. I also like how there is a Five Below and TJ Maxx in this mall because these are normally stand alone stores that I have to travel separately to. The layout is a reason I docked a star. This mall does not go in a complete circle so if you lose your phone and you are on the opposite side of the mall, you have to run all the way back to the other side of the mall. Hopefully that doesn't happen to you, but keep that in mind! Keep that in mind when parking and when you are trying to visit a particular store as well. They layout of this mall is very similar to Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover, MD, There is a long hall of stores then a break, each break is a 'neighborhood' which helps you keep track of where you are or where stores are. Finally, the location of this mall is pretty well thought out. This mall is less than an hour away from both Dulles and Reagan National Airports. Although there are other malls in the area, this mall is also an 'outlet mall' so visitors could chose this over other malls for that reason. There are plenty of good restaurants and shopping centers in the area as well which is an added bonus. I would recommend this mall if you have time to dedicate to shop and look for good deals. I want to like this mall but it is so big and sprawling that it is really tiring to walk around all of the stores. That is probably a terrible reason not to give a higher rating but if you want to go to two stores on opposite ends of the mall, plan on a real hike between them, and back to your car, too. To its credit, Potomac Mills has a lot of parking so finding a stall is probably not going to be a problem unless some special shopping event is happening. There are many restaurants both in the food court and surrounding the mall so getting a decent meal should be pretty easy when you come here to shop. read more

Decent "outlet" mall with designer brands including Coach, kate spade, Michael Kors, Brooks Brothers, Cole Haan, The North Face, etc. All of the designer stores are typically all overpriced with "50% off" those overpriced tags, so you get a regular deal on everything. Nothing crazy. Kate Spade's store was mostly collections from a year to two years ago. The Coach store didn't have a large clearance section that most outlets have. The North Face store is barely an outlet- they only have a few racks marked down a measly 25-35%. The non-"designer" stores, Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, GAP, J. Crew, etc. had much better deals and larger clearance sections. Hollister had a huge clearance section with men's shirts as low as $6. Almost everything was an additional 40% off the clearance price. The GAP Outlet had sweatsuit separates for $8 and a lot of basics that were priced affordably. Be forewarned- the businesses/kiosks in the center of the mall will harass you everywhere you go. Everything from massages, essential oils, hair straightener scams, etc. It gets extremely annoying and almost every single store you come out of there is somebody trying to sell something. read more

I move to Woodbridge area 3 years ago and couldn't be happier! Found this outlet mall once I moved to the area and since then I fall in love with the prices!!!! I used to shop at Pentagon City Mall, Old town Alexandria and Georgetown shop because I used to live near those locations. However since I move to Woodbridge, and found this incredible mall, my jaw dropped! I find the same things that I would get at the other malls but for WAY LESS MONEY! You will need minimum three days to actually finish to look/shop around the mall. It has TON of brands, you name it, it has it. I don't have child yet but I definitely had seem playgrounds. Parking is great! Plenty space! There are also ton of restaurants, such as Cheesecake Factory, Bahama Breeze, Guapos, Olive Garden and more near by. AMC movie theater is also in the Mall. You got it all. If you live far away, you won't regret the drive! read more

This is a wonderful outlet mall for its bargain prices especially for quality goods. At peak times parking can get hectic but there is parking everywhere and there's 5 entrances to get inside the mall. It's basically like a long one story mall. I usually like to park in the main entrance(which is level 1) and work my way through the mall. This place is big and have a lot of stores. I have been able to get some great deals on my favorite brands. All of the shops I have come across have friendly staff which is impressive with how busy it can get. I have never been able to visit all of the retail I want before getting too tired and turning back around, so I suggest wearing comfortable shoes. They do have massages and charging dock if you do want to relax or fuel your phone batteries. One thing to know is that some stores there are not actually outlet or discount department stores such as TJ Max for instance, So don't bother wasting your time in those stores if you are here to bargin shop! read more

This mall needs a major upgrade on the outside. A power wash would be a good start, but really not enough. Trash and run-down parking lots are only part of the problem as well. The inside looks nice, but less and less quality stores as the years go by. I wouldn't go at night due to safety reasons, but seems like that's happening during the day now as well. It's a shame that Simon Properties can't keep up. Probably best to either do a complete remodel or change it to an updated outdoor mall like Stonebridge. Woodbridge could really use it. read more

Fantastic indoor shopping center with everything you need Under One Roof. This place has every single well name brand clothing store and restaurant. Everything is reasonably priced, the parking lot has plenty of parking to accommodate large crowd and the mall is very clean itself. The only thing that I disliked... the bathroom. The bathrooms were very very smelly and needed some cleaning. I spoke to my husband who used the men's bathroom & had a very different point of view. I look forward to returning back the last week of August to check out that bathroom and partake in obtaining some of those sale items. read more

And when I say packed I mean so packed that the food court can be sound from distance (teenagers yelling) and that you will probably need to wait (sometime too long) in the fitting rooms). Parkin is good. I think that the ones that complained are used to park within 10 fit from one of the entrances. I am ok with 20 ;) Pricing is mixed. You might find great deals.
