Staples and GameStop serve a purpose. AAA is good for people whom enjoy them, and Chuckie Cheese could be hell on earth. Einstein can be a pleasant treat, and the Trader Joe's will always be mobbed. There are 20 shops in the strip mall section.  Einstein Bros Bagels (#21) is off by itself in the corner of Pickett Road & Main Street, to the SW, opposite AAA. There are lots of large, medium, small, & mini orange and white pumpkins to choose from.  There are a plethora of squash & corn husks in various shapes, sizes & colors to adorn your home or office in colorful autumn fashion.  Cute scarecrows, scary witches, as well as other fall and Halloween decorations, are also displayed around the Pumpkin Patch station where you pay for your items.  The Patch isn't set up yet, as of 3 Oct, probably due to Hurricane Joaquin's and the Nor'easter's unpleasant dreary, heavy rains & flooding this weekend.  I can't wait for them to set it up so Oct, my favorite month in my favorite season, will have some added fun & pizazz! Most of the time there is plenty of parking here. That's a plus, and it's convenient to Braddock Road. It's not too far from the Beltway. My hope is this will be renovated with better store choices.

I'll mention Margarita's Grill Mexican restaurant and the H Mart grocery store as business we have also patronized. A Sunoco gas station is on a corner of the property as is a free-standing combined KFC and Taco Bell. The shopping center is in two parts, divided by the Burke Lake Road overpass. On the other side are an Enterprise car rental, Duk Wo (Asian Fusion) and Buffa's Dance Studio, among other businesses. The shopping center is very accessible from Burke Lake Road and Burke Road from West Springfield.

It's your regular boring strip mall, that permeates this area like the others. I have found some bargains at the Dollar Tree, although that's now technically the $1.25 Tree. The one here is solid although busy. When needing a heat lamp for my sons snakes, can get them at the Petsmart. They almost always have these in stock. Park far away if you can, although it can be difficult to find that spot.

There are bigger and more exciting malls. Yet this one fits the old town look and experience. There's a pretty impressive dining and store selection in a small area. I frequent Cedar Cafe, Tau Tau, Petco, Dollar Tree and Shoppers.

It's middle ground, and the size is substantial. Parking is usually a cinch. That alone is helpful, as some of these in northern Virginia can be headache inducing. There's a fair amount of choices here. In addition to the most amazing gym in the area, there's a Tropical Smoothie, Anita's, IHOP, Ross, Dollar Tree, Petco, and a few other places. This isn't going to knock you over with its selection. Yet you can get some low cost groceries at Lidl, or maybe get a new car battery at the Advanced Auto store. If you're in the area it works.
