Moderate to high end merchandise consignment boutique store. This place is definitely not a thrift store or a place to find a great bargain. They did have items for sale from 25% to 75% off yet they were not items I was interested in buying. Customer service was good. They informed me of how I could build credit with purchases made there to use to obtain items there. High end items were well curated and priced fairly. Most of the expensive & luxury brand items were placed in locked cabinets except for a set of $400 Waterford crystal. I saw and tried some jewelry items in one of these cabinets but didn't find any to my liking. I enjoyed browsing the items and selected a dress & children books to buy. Proceeds from the store help fund the hospital's mission to provide world class healthcare. This store is like a boutique consignment store to purchase gently used to almost new items - moderate to high end luxury brands. This isn't by any wild stretch of the imagination a "treasure trove" - it's an attempt at highway robbery. The gang of older women who run this location are snooty, rude, and price the items at laughably exorbitant levels. They literally price items at/near retail, and every piece has a security tag pierced right through it to leave a tear/hole upon removal. You've GOT to be kidding me. Customers were stuck at the register line for an eternity due to the three ring circus the nasty knitting circle was having about how to work the register. I will never, ever return to this or any of the other locations, and suggest you not waste your valuable time either. read more

Overall from time to time you will find something interesting but guaranteed overpriced. if you are lucky you can get it in 2-3 months at 50-75% off. otherwise not worth buying. An example they price common used Pyrex for more than you can get at Walmart. There are a few full time employees, neither of them are friendly always seem to be to busy to help even when the store is near empty. One is just out right mean and the other runs around in a state of confusion. if you are a male customer just plan on being ignored, even when you are at the counter with money in hand. Trying to be generous based on my first visit in the new Springfield plaza location. I visited yesterday (Saturday) about 2 hours before closing. There was one other patron browsing items. The new location is spacious, light and bright, and easy to navigate around the merchandise to browse. My first impression was, "there's a lot of space here". While the former location had less square retail footage, it seemed as if there was more merchandise for sale. I came to look for a gently used kitchen appliance I knew the prior retail location regularly carried. When I couldn't find any kitchen wares or appliances, I asked the two young girls behind the counter if they sold kitchen wares anymore and they looked at me blankly, pointing me to a display stand of overpriced China and bisque dishes. I figured this shop probably no longer sells kitchen wares, so took one last look around before heading to another store. There were a small handful of turn of the century accent chairs (cane, oak barrel, child's high chair), and what struck me is that very few were in good, usable condition. All were damaged or structurally compromised in some way but priced as if in good, usable condition. There were a few sets of vintage China/Japanese porcelain/bisque sets, and one set of depression glass. All were priced quite high (per piece) and several had chips or other signs of damage. Assuming the same process is in place as was for the prior location, consigners set their own prices, and at this location consigners always seem to price their items for boutique retail. (Don't many of us think we're sitting on a potential treasure when it's just old stuff?). Different strokes for different folks, but I don't know how many people setting up a kitchen nowadays are looking for an incomplete 1970s era wheat pattern Japanese set of "China" dishes for $375. Always having had success in the purse department in the prior location, I passed by the book shelf display of handbags and was disappointed at both the lofty pricing and lack of selection. The girls were friendly so I bid them goodbye and moved on. I'm not sure I'll return to this location because the quality of the items seemed poor for the prices the consigners were asking (even more so than in the past), and overall there was a lack of selection...meaning, it just didn't seem like there was much to look at. After about 10 mins. I felt I'd browsed the entire store. The items weren't particularly appealing to me (totally subjective, don't take my word), and I was sad to see my beloved kitchen section was gone - where I'd often find a vintage fondue pot set or a nice vintage Pyrex set for a bargain. I may try giving the benefit if the doubt and visit one more time in a different season since this location is not far from home, but will explore other thrift and consignment shops in the area for truly second-hand prices. read more

It's pretty small compared Salvation Army and Goodwill. But it's much cleaner and more organized. And more expensive. They don't have sales or special discount like 25% off at Salvation Army on Wed. The staffs are really nice ladies. Tons of parking spots in front of the shop. read more

I love this place! They take donations in the back alley not the front. Just either ring the bell or open the door and someone will help you. Proceeds benefit the INOVA Hospitals. They also offer a nice selection of used items. I always find some nice baskets for auction items. I have also found some cool costumes and nice decorative garden decor! Everything is very organized and tagged. Remember proceeds INOVA hospitals and are tax deductible! They are located in the huge shopping center with the Kmart and Giant. read more

I have been visiting this location for a number of years. They have a decent selection of merchandise ranging from furniture and housewares to clothing and handbags. The space is significantly smaller than a normal thrift shop but that is okay since it makes them much more selective on what they sell. Visually, the store is laid out well and is lit well. The clothing is not always put back on the correct racks which makes it difficult to find your size. Some of the merchandise is consigned and some is just donated. Personally, I just donate things to them because I don't want the headache involved with consigning! My reason for not going for the full five stars is simple: the pricing has really gotten out of hand. Sometimes there are great bargains, but the prices have been steadily going up making it more economical to go to another thrift shop. The furniture is significantly higher than other similar shops. The clothing prices are going up too high. I am finding prices that are close to or more than retail/new. The prices keep going up while the quality of merchandise is going down. The store features a discount for certain color tags, either 25%, 50%, or 75%. There are some real deals but you have to have the time to dig! read more

I was in the shopping center running errands and noticed that on Sundays they open at noon. I decided to stick around for another 20 minutes to check this page out as it looked nice from the outside. At 12:05 I went back and it looked as closed as before. There was no sign of anyone inside even close to getting the store opened. I have been shopping here for years and this is just the nicest place to stop in and find a treasure! Lately the store is looking better than ever - clean, well lit, friendly professional service. They seem to be getting more selective jn what they are offering for sale - overall quality is great and their pricing reflects better quality. If I want dirty broken or recycle items for cheap then I go somewhere else. Still I often find a bargain here. This place is upscale! It's a nicely stocked thrift shop which always has a lovely collection of china sets to buy. The older ladies who work the register tend to be chatting with clients & joking with each providing a very relaxed environment to browse in. Whenever I walked by this place, it is usually closed. Today I happened to walk by when they are opened so I decided to stop by just to browse, but I ended up leaving the store with the most comfortable pair of already broken in DKNY boot cut jeans. I enjoy browsing at second-hand stores.You would never know what you might find there. This store is bigger than it looks from the outside. In the front they sell household items and the clothing section is located at the back of the store. Awesome store! I try and check out their inventory a few times a month, and I always walk out with something: last month, I bought a $5 H&M sweater and a $4 LOFT knit top and, just recently this week, I bought a $9 J.Crew skirt. Springfield has very "rich" women, so there are a lot of branded clothing available. Plus, there is always something trendy on sale. There's also a decent collection of vintage houseware, if you're interested. Personally, I don't like to be bothered when I shop, and the employees try to stay busy, but they will help if you ask! And I feel great buying from Treasure Trove since the proceeds do go towards Inova Fairfax Hospital. :) read more

This place has a great furniture selection that constantly rotates and keeps a lot of items in stock. It's clean, and for the most part, organized. This is your best bet if you'd like some quality furniture that's not terribly expensive. The housewares here tend to be pretty good too. This next note goes out to all the consignors out there: This is an OK place to consign since they'll pretty much take any brand of clothing and a lot of places won't. They'll take a fair amount of electronics too, but there's a fairly long list of things they usually won't accept. On certain days, they also won't take specific overstock items. But they are sticklers for quality. Be prepared to bring extra of whatever you've got because they usually end up rejecting a few pieces. Make sure it's ironed and hole-free. You also may end up waiting a long time so be prepared for that too. The funny thing is that sites like eBay will take clothing with minor defects, but this place won't. And beware: the manager is the biggest stickler of them all. She's also not very nice. read more

This is an amazing store. The jewelry selection is great! There is so much stuff, clothes, bags, books and furniture.You really need about a good two hours to really go through the entire place. I honestly feel sorry for this place. I went there tonight as they had a promotional deal with 20% off. I think they want to do good and contribute money to INOVA hospital but they probably don't attract very nice or interesting things from a consignment perspective because the pricing is so low which attracts more junk and also does a disservice to the hospital since they aren't getting much bang for the buck. But i've been here 5 times and only walked out with one scarf, I think this place might be a dud. tons of talbots stuff that was cheaper at the outlet store across the way before they donated... most coffee mugs are like $2 or $3. once saw a scratched up le creuset french oven for $120 that someone actually bought- a few weeks later, i'm hoping at 25% off. only positive i think is the furniture in the front of the store seems to be OK for those trying to furnish on a tight budget. read more

Amazing! I just bought a new home and am furnishing it on a budget. I pinterest a lot and plan on getting furniture to paint and distress it, and i didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for furniture... I ended up finding an amazing solid oak dresser with 2 adorable mirrors for $63 in near perfect condition and 2 end tables/nightstands for $30 a piece, perfect for my projects! I also saw about a gazillion other things I wanted to get but the boyfriend said no and I needed to turn around and walk out of the store... he's right, I would have cleaned the place out. For about the last 6 months, I have found the furniture and household items priced higher than before. A wonderful place to have a good shopping experience. One feels very welcomed to browse through the selection of things. Everything is very organized, clean and well displayed. The dedicated volunteers and the Manager are exceptionally courteous and are always willing to serve you. The prices are very reasonable for the type of merchandise and the A-1 condition it is in. One should not expect flea market prices. Again, the merchandise is in top quality condition. I visit this store frequently when shopping for groceries. Sometimes inside this store it feels like being at an estate sale. It is conveinently located in a strip mall. There are lots of household wares like lamps, framed art, dishes, some furniture and appliances. Next items to shop for are the clothes and shoes which are mostly consigned; many many, so it is possible to get them new but the prices are $$. The structure of this store is cramped, odd and blocked flow. I find people in my personal space or in the way so it is not easy to shop.Lastly, this store offers few childrens books, a long wall of shelf sitters and loads of over priced jewelry. I took a number of items here from my mother's estate and worked with Sarah. She was extremely kind and helpful. My items were well priced and the majority of them sold. There is a previous review about the staff not being very nice and that is the exact opposite of my experience. I live out of state but if I were in the area, I would frequent the store as they have good quality items at reasonable prices and they stage their inventory to good advantage. read more
